the  small,  unassuming  woman  stumbles  and  hits  the  pavement  before  she  can  process  what’s  happening,  scraping  her  forearm  bloody.  at  the  first  inhale  after  impact,  her  ribs  swell;  her  clothes  start  to  split  at  the  seams.  that’s  the  last  time  jen  goes  out  in  her  human  form  to  avoid  attention.  she  hates  it  when  people  assume  she  needs  to  be  protected.  the  only  thing  that  could  make  it  worse  is  if–  oh,  god,  no.  

green  spills  across  her  skin  as  she  pulls  herself  up;  she  shifts  en-route  to  where  he’s  fallen,  one  smooth  display  of  power.  her  knee  cracks  the  ground  when  she  drops  down  beside  her  unlucky  rescuer,  searching  for  his  injury.  “  are  you  alright?  ”  don’t  panic,  jen.  “  are  you  hurt?  can  you  talk?  ”  it’s  okay.  stay  calm.
