hey so do you ever think about how unsettling seeing maedhros in ríros' body during the possession arc would have been for everyone?

because i do. i think about it constantly.

because i think about how that's ríros' face and not ríros' expressions on it. because i think about murdoc finally, angrily caving to maedhros' need to stress cook with him, and it doesn't even matter which hand maedhros handles a knife with. if it's his right, that's not ríros. if it's his left, that's not ríros in there don't remind me of him. everything is just wrong. uncanny valley. and murdoc is going to throw up every time he has to look at him and see not ríros except to look at him and actually see ríros at all would only hurt more.

do you think about how the scepter ghost wasn't just punishing murdoc, wasn't just punishing maedhros, wasn't even just getting to ríros through murdoc, using ríros to HURT murdoc because hurting ríros is so, so much worse than anything anyone could do to murdoc himself, BUT ALSO was, in a way, punshing ríros for his appearance too?? picking on him because he looked at him and what he SAW was maedhros.

and maedhros failed him.

and murdoc failed ríros.

same crime. same punishment.

murdoc deserves it. ríros doesn't.

and all ríros did was look the part.
