I was always jealous of other kids at school. It's pretty hard when almost everyone in your class is few months older than you, and it got even harder when they all began turning 10. During recess kids were flying around, shooting lasers from their eyes or screaming with their sonic voices loud enough to shatter glass. And I had nothing. Forever limited to sitting on my patch of grass, with curious ants as the only substitute for company. We were both small and defenseless, and so we had to stay out of range of all the cool kids with their cool powers.

When my 10th birthday approached, I was ecstatic. It was finally my time to shine! I had been thinking about it for so long, going over all of the powers I could posses many, many times. Should I ask for super strength to impress anyone? Be able to shapeshift to look more mature? Run super fast to win all the races? I just couldn't decide!

My mom planned out a picnic for us both, at my favourite place at my favourite park. We were eating fruit salad and strawberry cake while watching the ducks from the nearby pond. It would've been wonderful if it weren't for the swarms of insects that decided to attack either us or our lunch. Mad at the fly that landed on my plate, I loudly proclaimed "I wish I could tell all those bugs to buzz off!". Right after I said those words, a multicolored sphere of light erupted before my eyes. Mom asked me if everything was alright but I didn't hear her through the ringing in my ears. I would later learn that it was my 'special moment'. I had my chance to shine - but all i did was ask for a way to communicate with bugs.

If I was an outcast before, now it was even more prominent. There's a big difference between the kid who didn't get his powers yet and the kid who had a chance to become powerful, and yet picked an awfully lame superpower. It was safer to keep my distance, on my patch of grass. At least now I knew that ants were really chatty and loved gossip. I even brought them cookie crumbs sometimes.

It got easier with time. While it still wasn't considered 'cool', understanding insects helped me with many science projects, making me really good at biology. When it came to exams from other subjects, well - teachers can stop you from bringing a cheat sheet, but they won't stop a fly. A fly that just happens to remember all the important physics formulas. A fly that randomly chose to hang around your desk. Well.

While useful, it was still embarassing. For a long time, I used to tell people I had a different power - like being really good at hide and seek or remembering all pokémon. Something childish, but acceptable. After all, it wasn't rare for people to grow out of their powers. Who even used sonic screaming anymore? It seemed like my bugtalk would be my sweet, little secret.

That was, until the world went to shit.

It was to be expected. Water supply started running short, days were getting hotter, plants almost stopped growing. People were freaking out. And then the locusts came, swarms spreading through remaining crops. That was enough for the fights to break out, and fights can get really violent when people start using their powers to the full extent. It was a battle of survival - violent, full of fear, absolutely unnecessary. I didn't stand a chance. So I fled.

I found an old cottage on a hill, with a nice view and a vegetable garden. I did what I've been doing my whole life - I looked insects in the eyes and told them to fuck off. They did. While the world collapsed around me, I spent my time peacefully tending to my crops and laying in soft grass. The thought of helping others did cross my mind. I could arrange talks and resolve the whole thing - but was it really a good idea? They had the cool, useful powers after all. It would be derogatory for them, to be saved by someone like me. Someone so 'lame and useless'.

And so I just accepted my role of watching people kill each other with laser eyes or super strength, forever sitting on my small patch of grass.

In a world where at age 10 you pick your superpower, you picked the seemingly harmless one. Yet now at 26 you are considered the most powerful person in the world

Episode 8 analysis.

This is going to be messy, so brace yourselves. It took me 3 hours to completely analyze this episode, so if there are spelling mistakes fuck you, I’m tired and idc.

This is going to be intensely FULL OF SPOILERS, so whoever has not watched episode 8, better not read.

Okay, let’s start off with a warning. The series is heavily based on numbers and symbolism, which means that if you are not a huge fan of math, logical thinking and finding shit where nobody else is seeing it, it may once again not be your cup of tea.

Well then, have fun with this thing that wasted my brain for 3 hours.

Okay, first scene is tricky, I went back to it a few times throughout the episode, because it wasn’t adding up. We have this tied up man, being thrown in a burning barrel, right? Yeah, so this is basically where the flashback starts. Not when Supot starts talking or anything. This is a heavily symbolic scene again, as it represents us with the meaning of oppression. If one pays attention, it is explained later in the episode. The symbolism behind it is the oppression of minorities. It all starts back in 1984, when the people with special abilities had just been noticed and were heavily oppressed. Supot talks about how at the beginning it had been very hard for those of their kind, since they have been oppressed. And those who were not useful or were troublemakers were immediately being disposed of. Because we all know that humans go to extremes when they are afraid of things they do not understand.

While we are at it, and since I am not really going to do this in chronological order. This is where the flashback starts and where it comes to a conclusion. It is the exact same burning barrel as the one where Yuth supposedly dies. I’ll probably mention it again along the way.

Aside from the flashback we have a very interesting take on Pang and Supot’s conversation and later on young Supot and the minister. Idk if anybody has noticed the camera angles in this episode. They are quite important. First we have the room with the black board, where Supot and Pang are talking. The camera angle is slightly to the left, with Pang’s back facing us and Supot facing him, this, in my opinion, is a symbolism for who has the upper hand in the situation. You might think that I’m crazy and this is just reading too much into, but it’s not, because there is the exact same parallel with young Supot and the minister. Of course, later on in the episode we have the exact opposite, which is the minister having the upper hand and Supot slowly gaining the upper hand from Pang.

And the opposite:

Notice how much smaller young Supot and Pang look and how the minister and Supot suddenly seem more in focus :))

The next thing I am going to talk about is the number symbolism in this episode. The whole episode is based on the number 2. Everything starts in 1984, right? Then we have 1986, when  young Supot marches into the ministry. After that we have 1988, when they conduct their experiments. Fun numbers, right? Except there’s nothing fun here. It’s a number sequence – 4, 6, 8, and after 8 is 10, which in this case is 0. And which year is in the present? 2020. Now, you may think that this is just some game that the writers did or something, but it ain’t, sorry. The number 2 is in literally everything this episode. We have Supot and Yuth, who are 2 people, right? From here comes the cursed pattern, my dudes. They come in pairs of 2 – SupotYuth, ChanonPom, PangWave. Except that ChanonPom are an alternation to the pattern, which means we are back to the number 2. I’ll talk about this along the way, but let me finish with the numbers, before I forget my thoughts again. According to google the number 2 is a symbol of partnership and balance, but sometimes it may also be the symbol of opposition or conflict. Every single major event in this episode (’84, ’86, ’88) happen two years apart from each. Then in the house scene when Yuth disappears, we have two plates on the table, who are flipped upside down and a half empty/full plate, which for me, is symbolism for the two pairs that have fallen and the one (PangWave) that is on the line, meaning there’s a 50/50 chance 

history will repeat itself. I’ll come back to this scene again.

The next thing I’m going to talk about is why ChanonPom are an alternation. Well, WELCOME TO THE PARALLEL HELL! SupotYuth = PangWave. I know, I know, you all know that. But did you know that Yuth had the same potential as Wave? Less evolved, but the same regardless. Remember that scene in the house, when the phone rang and Yuth ran off? Yeah, that was Yuth. He can manipulate sound waves I guess, as it was foreshadowed with the whole sound equipment he was using for his and Supot’s experiment and we all know that that is how they tell us about their potentials. Now, this is not even all of it. The basic is: the leader, who can manipulate thoughts and the co-leader who can control technology. Okay, from here, we have the parallel of using their powers on each other. Supot had used his powers on Yuth (Pom also uses his powers on Chanon, even though they are an alternation to the pattern), and even though he doesn’t continue with the experiment, we know that he has used it. And remember the scene, when they are eating and Supot grabs Yuth’s hand? Yeah, that is a parallel with when Wave said to Time that Pang could use his ability on him, but wouldn’t, because Yuth makes Supot confirm that he will never use his potential on him. Yes, I know it is not exact parallel, but it cannot be one, because there are many more variable into the equation in the present, than there were in the past. Okay, here I am not that certain, but I think there is one more parallel. As we all know, nobody in this fucking series dies, so Yuth was not killed, he faked his death. Now, you may ask, where is the parallel with PangWave? Oh, man, it’s in season 1. When Wave faked the whole thing with leaking the Gifted information. They are parallels, because the aim of both actions are to provoke their partner to take action.

On a side note, or not really. You might wonder why I think that Yuth faked his death. Well, many, many reasons. A person cannot die to fire as fast is the first, because we are led to believe that he got killed and thrown into that barrel, right? Which is incorrect on so many levels. As I said, a nobody can die as fast from fire. But what if he got shot and thrown in, you might ask? Well, human flesh burns kind of slow and creates shit load of smoke, which was not there. Then there’s the fact that that barrel is not nearly big enough for fit a whole body, in order to do so, one will have to cut the body in parts. Next we have the neatly put glasses on the ground. No fucking cracks on them. Very suspicious. Fuck that, but they have metal frames, which upon contact with the ground should get disfigured. Another thing is that the only possible way for those glasses to be that intact is if the height from which they are dropped is below 1 meter, as we know that is not the case. Another tell tale sign is when young Supot is at the ministry and the minister asks WHEN he got there, which means it was not him who called, which also means that my theory about Yuth’s potential is cementing itself. He also asked WHICH friend and confirmed that he has no idea what Supot is talking about. So, basically Yuth has the same potential as Wave and faked his death.

I think that by now, you can see why ChanonPom is an alternation to the pattern.

Anyway, the next thing I want to mention is the similarities between Supot, Chanon and Pang. I’m going to start off with saying that all of them are very complex characters with very intense inner struggles. Starting from Supot, we have this bright young man, who has a vision, right? Well, he has a god complex. He is obsessed with his vision and disregards his loved ones and morals, because of his ideals and what he believes in. He is also very patriotic and self absorbed, which are all red flags for someone who has a god complex. He is convinced he can change the country and leave a legacy. And in his pursuit, he loses every single thing. Guess who else loses everything? Both Chanon and Pang. But here comes the difference. They are all the same basically, but they have the variables to the equation that is the Gifted program, while in the past Supot just shot in the dark with nothing but trial and error. Chanon and Pang have hero complex. Both want to save the people they love and keep them safe, which leads them to fucking shit up even more. And while Chanon is an alternation, Pang is steadily threading in Supot’s footsteps.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention about the ChanonPom alternation. They have switched roles, as you have already guessed. That is why they are the alternation to this beautiful pattern.

I have definitely not covered everything, but these were the most important parts of this episode. The whole thing was a weird foreshadowing.

Also, I am still not entirely convinced it was the ministry that leaked the information about the program, because it seems too obvious honestly. Yeah, the minister smiles when he sees the news, but like it bugs me… They either leaked it themselves, or enabled the A.G. or Darin coerced Punn to do it. It’s just too easy if it’s the ministry. And I think that it was done in order to lure Supot out.

I decided to not write down the whole psychological analysis I did of the characters, but rather do it another day in a post dedicated only on that.

🔥 Ty you’re the perfect person for me to go off about this first one with- lets talk about ocs.

OCs are often treated badly in this RPC.

As ya’ll know, I write ocs.  I write a lot of them, I write a grand total of.... Eleven, with varying degrees of activity.  So obviously, this is an issue that I not only care about, but it effects me GREATLY.  I don’t write any canon characters (anymore) bc I can’t take the pressure of being ic and true to canon bc I’m a stickler for canon.  Anyway.

OCs.  We’ve all probably had them at some point.  IF you’ve been around long enough there was even a server dedicated to them that I was a part of.  And in being in that server and writing ocs, I have made some observations.

-OC Popularity is often directly linked to either the popularity of the writer.  Chances are, if you’re a popular blog that writes canons.... If you offer an OC, people will like them.  Blogs are popular because the writing is good and the writer is friendly, so obviously, your OC will be appealing.  This??  Isn’t a bad thing.  It’s just something that I have noticed.  I’ll never really get all that mad at an oc for being popular lol.  I might get jealous but like.  I won’t do jack about it.

-OCs are often better than canon characters.  I said it.  Lets face it, Horikoshi has so many characters that he can’t make all of them as fleshed out and well cooked like the protagonists and the main antagonists. OCs offer fresh new blood to the story we all know and love, and they might just end up spicing up what your blog canon is.  Seriously, I’d fuckin kill to see some of the OC’s ive met in the actual publicization.  And we can all agree, any OC is better than Mineta. /lh Anyway, holding canon characters i nthe highest regard of who’s worth writing and who’s worth writing with, you’re only holding yourself back,

-People are often stinky about family of canon character OCs and I think people shouldn’t brush them off so readily.  Like.  Bro, *holds up Hideki Kirishima* this boy is canon idc what you say.  IT’s fun to make the world a little bigger.  Indulge a bit, see how it feels to give your canon muse a sibling.  Just.  JUST DO IT.

-People avoid oc muses with bitchin powers As if our main characters aren’t OP as hell.  Like.  Come one.  We’re having fun don;t make us feel bad.  Communicate and talk about things.  Just bc my OC has a quirk that COULD kill yours immediately, doesn’t mean I’m gonna make it happen without your permission.  People are quick to assume that OCs godmod.  Stop that.

-SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE OCS BUT ARE SCARED TO WRITE THEM.  Y’all.  It’s okay.  Please, write your ocs.  People will come to them, I swear.  Some of my favorite ocs pretty much had to be coaxed out of people, and now i can’t imagine these ocs not running around.  We should be confident in our creations.  It takes a huge amount of skill to create a new character from scratch.

🔥 That actually kinda brings me into my next thing, which is what I like to call the Just Make And OC moment.  I’ve seen this in a lot of fandoms, and I’ve started to see it more and more in this community.  What is this moment?

Say you’re writing a canon character.  You think, hey, I like this character, but what if.... X.  So, you roll with it, you do X.  You like it, you keep it.  And then, you’re like... What if.... Y.  And you do that too.  Great, you’re having fun.  But then, you’re like... Z... I REALLY want Z.  And these can be small things, but more often than not, they’re BIG things.  Big, CHARACTER CHANGING things.  

We all have the freedom to interpret canon how we want, and write our muses how we want.... But... What if you just... Took everything you just did.... And just... Made an OC.  Like, you’ve changed core elements of the character so much that they’re barely recognizable.  just give them a new name, maybe change the hair color and BOOM.  You have a GREAT OC to start with.  I used to be in the Undertale RPC and Fandom and if you’re familiar you know that Undertale is just... AU City.  And it’s fun, I’m glad people have fun- but if you’re changing literally everything about a character, even their NAME... It’s just??  Why bother, just make an OC.  It’s fine.  BC if you think about it, you’re not really an alternate universe, it’s the MHA universe and its character that you’re altering.  And there’s a point where... You’ve just made your own character, and that’s sick as hell.

I’m not talking like... Those things where “Oh yeah it’s all the same except instead of dying, Magne lives and has a beautiful husband and lives to be one hundred” or “This is a verse where a villain character gets rehabbed into heroic society” because those are things that wont take away or add too much to the character.  It’s more like you’re opening a door for new things without adding or taking away too much.  It’s when you diverge so far from the character... THAT’S when the Just Make An OC Moment kicks in.

PART of the reason I think people don’t just do this is they like being connected to the canon character, bc it means that they can still garner interest but chances are, if you already have people interested in writing with you, they will happily take your oc. 

All that to say, if you write a canon divergent canon character, don’t stop, if it makes you happy.  Like, seriously this is just something I see and feel.  But also dont?  Be surprised?  If people aren’t super on board?  I don’t really like to write with straight up moral flipped characters bc i feel like... If Deku was a sadistic villain brought up by AFO instead of his mom, he ain’t Deku anymore.  THATS JUST ME, but I’m not the only person who feels that way.  People might just want that classic vanilla canon, and you shouldn’t make people feel guilty for it, in my opinion.  Keep doing what makes you happy, and let other folks to the same.  

Also, it’s not your place to tell someone what they should or shouldn’t do.  If someone writes a canon divergent and you don’t like the divergences, move on.  It’s not your business.  That’s not what I’m doing, I’m just saying that sometimes I am bothered by this, because to me it seems like a lot of these canon divergent canons are in essence, OCs, but since they still have the canon’s name and face strapped to it, it gets more love and attention.  And that bugs me, and I will point it out!  I’m not sorry for it.

I know this one will make me lose some of you so I’m sorry.

🔥 I’m running out of juice but uh can we talk about how blogs about minor characters are the fucking tits bc like i said earlier Horikoshi has so many characters he left a lot of side characters with next to no bones and the people who take those bones and stuff them full of flesh???  Chefs kiss.  That’s kind of my exception to the Just Make An OC Moment.  At some point, that character just BELONGS to that person, like Spinner belongs to Eros, or how Meow created a Hawks’ dad that is so much better than what we got, and Flowers literally created Wash.

tawa is an entitled brat that doesn’t know what it means to be nice to himself and desperately seeks for validation from those he’s in awe of

washta has to tell herself she’s wanted and important in people’s lives  and that she has a purpose and place in her world, but otherwise she likes herself

the star mare has one true love in the world and that’s herself

shadi learned to fight for herself against herself and others cuz a lot of people doubted she could become the powerful warrior and magic user she is today and it’s been an uphill battle but despite the bad days she’s killing it at loving herself

lani doesn’t need self esteem because it’s a fact that she’s better than everyone else?

jerry’s too tired to care what others think of him. he hates the things he’s been forced to do in the past but also knows he would do it again so he’s been forced to accept his dislike of himself and move on cuz what else can he do? poor boy

33. what is their biggest fear? how would they react to having to face it?

tawa is terrified of not being who he’s supposed to be and also losing the star mare. he doesn’t let himself think about it.

washta is haunted by the fact that she’ll never have a home or family. also she’s very, very scared of her father. she’s pretty certain if she has to face her father she’ll die, but she’ll die fighting!

the star mare fears nothing and no one. this is not helpful many a time.

shadi is scared of being useless and a burden. she would do everything she could to do at least something in a seemingly helpless situation

lani is scared she’ll lose her purpose and have no reason to do the things she does. fortunately her quest will take a long time to complete so she doesn’t have to worry about that for a while

jerry has bee allergies and bad bug bite reactions so he’ll perform an impressive number of flips and spins to avoid getting stung/bit. also he’s scared of the dark

34. how easily do they trust others with their secrets? with their lives?

tawa doesn’t have secrets cuz he’s a celebrity and also dumb, and he’s too pathetic to protect himself so he has to trust literally everyone with his life

washta does not trust easily with her secrets and not too much with her life but if you give her reason to trust you, she’ll do it if there’s no other option

the star mare would kill anyone who tried to know her secrets/tell other people her secrets. she’s still very bitter about how spirit binding (the magic system) spread to humans. and no she wouldn’t trust anyone with her life except tawa in theory because, as mentioned, he’s pathetic and maybe wouldn’t be the best person to entrust your life with

lani will tell you a thousand secrets if it’s profitable to her. oh and sure she’ll trust people with her life, and also trust that they’ll ultimately betray/fail her so she always has a backup plan

jerry does NOT trust people ESPECIALLY lani because NOT AGAIN YO (they’re siblings and would die for another)

35. what is the easiest way to annoy them?

for tawa, insult literally anything about him and he’ll immediately start crying. to get him mad? insult his art or the star mare. then he’ll fight you! and lose! but still try in self-righteous rage!

if you don’t shut up around washta eventually she’ll punch you

your mere existence irritates and enrages the star mare

tell shadi her morals/beliefs/way of life is pointless and wrong and she will be Upset

lani would laugh at you for trying to annoy her

easiest way to push jerry into beserk mode? tell him he ought to be nicer to his older sister, and listen to her more often

36. what is their sense of humor like? give an example of a joke they would find humorous.

tawa doesn’t understand the human abstraction of so-called humor cuz whenever washta laughs at him it’s because he’s done something stupid (i.e. fallen on his face) but if he had a social media he would probably post terrifyingly morbid memes without a hint of irony, followed immediately by pics of a grassy wind-swept hill covered in wildflowers with the setting sun behind it

washta is so tired and dead all the time that if you can get her to smile that’s very impressive. however, videos of cats getting all prepped and hyped to jump a short distance? and then slipping and falling? would make her howl. also “funny depression memes” that remind her life is a joke so it’s okay to not stress over everything

the star mare thinks it’s almost cute the way humans try to stand up to her sometimes. she likes it even more though when the fear sets in and they start to run.

you could tell the lamest most pathetic and unfunny joke ever and shadi will laugh and say something that makes it 10x better so other people will laugh and still like you. all the indescribable memes on tumblr with like five layers of backstory and foreknowledge to them? she loves those. also, vines. not that she has them in her world but if she did she would make incredible tiktok videos

lani finds life fairly amusing. if she thinks laughing at your dumb joke or meme will be beneficial to her in some way then she’ll do it. otherwise she’s just laughing at you.

jerry forgot laughter in the slave pits but thinks everything his dragon does is adorable/hilarious so that’ll bring a chuckle out of him. also he would like funny depression memes and vines

37. how easy is it for them to say “i love you”? do they say it without meaning it?

tawa says it a thousand times a minute to the people he cares about (read: the star mare) in a thousand different ways because he’s bad at words but also would sob it in your shoulder if you complimented his artwork so yeehaw! he means absolutely everything he says so if he says he loves you, or shows it, he loves you man.

it is not easy for washta to say she loves you because she’s been hurt and has hurt too many times to count now and she doesn’t want to be hurt again but, like tawa, she means the things she says and she’ll show her love by saving your life or like swearing to protect you with her own or promising she’ll never leave your side as long as you still desire

it wouldn’t occur to the star mare to say “I love you” because she assumes you already know it (you being tawa)

shadi will scream i love you to every person she passes, she’ll scream it on the top of a mountain, she stare you in the eyes and touch your hand and tell it to you so soft and tender you’ll start to cry. she can say it like a joke or “ha ha sure yeah love you too” sarcastically, but deep down inside? she means it bro

lani has never told a single being she loves them while meaning it, and jerry knows this

jerry grits the words out to remind himself that yes love exists and yes he does love lani deep, deep, deep deep down inside and that maybe if he acknowledges it more often then he’ll feel less a need to strangle her. for cindy he’ll say it a thousand times over because he would rather die than let her forget

▸     IS    YOUR    MUSE    TALL    /    SHORT    /    AVERAGE ? SHORT. hes literally 3′3 he’s the size of a hecking toddler but that’s what you get for being a mobian hedgehog lmfao. by mobian standards i’d say he’s probably average i guess? some mobians are way bigger and some are smaller than him it kinda varies from species to species. by mobian hedgehog standards i’d say he’s probably still average, maybe a little bit taller than the average hedgehog but yeah lmao

▸      ARE    THEY    OKAY    WITH    THEIR    HEIGHT ? it doesn’t really bother him that much until he’s forced to be compared to humans tbh like, especially when it comes to height restrictions for certain human contraptions such as a roller coaster designed for humans that he’s too small to ride honestly that shit ticks him off so much LET HIM RIDE IT DAMN IT

▸      WHAT’S    THEIR    HAIR    LIKE ? long, pointy, and blue. LOL no but for real his fur texture is short and soft, a little fuzzy in some places, although where it nears his back his hair becomes very tough and pointy and it’s hard to see where his fur ends and his quills begin since the color makes them blend together so much. if you look closely you can see all the individual quills he’s got, they kinda just grow a certain way that makes them clump together in those spikes you see on his head and back. they can still be styled though although it’s not the most comfortable experience

▸     DO    THEY    SPEND    A    LOT    OF    TIME    ON    THEIR    HAIR     /    GROOMING ? the most grooming sonic does is a quick shower, scrub down with some soap, and maybe brush some knots out of his fur if it’s bugging him. he’s absolutely the worst with remembering to groom his quills though and Tails has had to pluck loose ones out of Sonic many times before because it was driving the hedgehog nuts

▸      DOES   YOUR   MUSE   CARE   ABOUT   THEIR   APPEARANCE   /   WHAT    OTHERS    THINK ? not really! he’s confident in his looks so he doesn’t really worry much, although admittedly he’s a lil insecure about the very thin patch of fur on his tummy where you see that tan circle because he’s got OTHER male hedgehog friends who’ve got floof. how come he didn’t inherent his dad’s floof?? :c not cool

does he care about what others think about his appearance? nope he gets constant validation all the time from adoring fans who consider him to be a dream boat so honestly he’s not worried. he’s got his own style and is comfortable with it

▸     INDOORS    OR    OUTDOORS ? 

outdoors absolutely. this is sonic the freakin hedgehog come ON man. there’s no room to run inside! there’s no fresh air! no open space! where’s he gonna get his adventure fix if he’s just stuck inside all day? booooo!

▸     RAIN    OR    SUNSHINE ?   both! while sonic very much enjoys the sun and finding a warm patch of sunlight to nap in, rain is also one of his favorite types of weather too. while he may be afraid of deep water, any other forms of experiencing water is lovely and the rain is really refreshing to run and splash in ▸     FOREST    OR    BEACH ?   okay sonic admittedly loves the beach and grew up with one literally a 2 minute walk away from his house but since there’s not much really to do besides look at how pretty the beach is he’ll have to go with forests. more stuff to explore and what not tbh. ▸     PRECIOUS    METALS    OR    GEMS ?   Gems for sure. he’s had a lot of fun playing with precious gems 👀 ▸     FLOWERS    OR    PERFUMES ? Oh for sure flowers, Sonic’s a huge flower and nature enthusiast and he enjoys the natural floral scents that they produce, plus they’re very pretty! ▸     PERSONALITY    OR    APPEARANCE ?   Personality hands down. if the person just LOOKS nice but has no personality then whats the point ??  ▸     BEING    ALONE    OR    BEING    IN    A    CROWD ?   it kinda depends. sonic doesn’t mind being in the presence of a lot of people but he’d prefer if he didn’t have all their attention and wasn’t lost in the throng of it. he’d rather be off to the side where he can do his own thing but still enjoy the presence of others. he’s a weird extrovert like that LOL ▸     ORDER    OR    ANARCHY ?   While he understands that order is important and it’s good for people to have moral structure in their lives, sometimes he just can’t do with the rules set in stone. sonic may be a good guy but in his mind sometimes being the good guy means you gotta break the rules  ▸     PAINFUL    TRUTHS    OR    WHITE    LIES ?  It... depends, honestly. is the painful truth about him or someone/something else? is he the one lying or is he the one being lied to?

sonic has a really bad habit with compulsively lying about his own well being so that others don’t worry about him, but when others lie to him about something (if it’s a really important something, not like minor stuff--- minor stuff he can let slide) then he Can’t Stand That. Which makes him a pretty huge hypocrite for hating white lies from other people but in his mind’s eye he puts other people first before him because he’s so darn selfless so it’s not really a big deal he’s sacrificing his well being for other’s right? he’s saving lives and making people happy right ?

anyway as far as the painful truth goes, as long as it doesn’t revolve around his personal feelings then he can manage it. i guess he prefers the painful truth in that sense, considering he’s carefully optimistic 

▸     SCIENCE    OR    MAGIC ?   ....eh. honestly he’s seen it all. at this point sonic just kinda  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ whatever man i can turn golden and super powerful with these magical rocks?? i can fight literal time gods with the rest of time space & reality crumbling around me and then re-set an entire timeline?? my brother can build a machine that can pinpoint my vital signature when i’m stuck in some weird void dimension??? aight. sounds fair. ▸     PEACE    OR    CONFLICT ?   Peace tbh, although after a while it does get a little boring if there’s no conflict for him to resolve--- being the hero he is. ▸     NIGHT    OR    DAY ?  

Either’s fine tbh, he doesn’t really have a preference. although sometimes night makes him feel a little on edge thanks to sonic unleashed ▸     DUSK    OR    DAWN ? 

he’s kinda indifferent about either, and isn’t really a fan of paying attention to the sun’s movements around these times of the day anyway bc it brings back unpleasant memories. thanks sonic unleashed

warmth pls he has short fur and was born on a tropical island, being cold sucks

PLAYING A GAME ABSOLUTELY. reading just doesn’t cut it for this hedgehog’s overactive brain he needs something he can physically engage in somehow and while he may enjoy a good story he has to be receiving it in a way that keeps his attention and if he’s just stuck sitting there and staring at a page he will lose focus pretty quick.

▸      WHAT    ARE    SOME    OF    YOUR    MUSE’S    BAD    HABITS ? -lying (about his well being) and hiding when he is hurt emotionally/physically -letting his selfless nature take control to the point where it’s damaging his own health -isolating himself with his problems so other people don’t have to deal with it -running away from situations when he can’t understand his feelings -making impulsive decisions that he doesn’t always think through  

▸      HAS    YOUR    MUSE    LOST    ANYONE    CLOSE    TO    THEM ?      HOW    HAS    IT    AFFECTED    THEM ? sonic’s first experience with losing a loved one was his own father, who unfortunately died saving sonic’s life from drowning in a tsunami. it was what  really kick started a lot of what you see in the blue hedgehog today, tbh. his drive to help and save others, his resolve over accepting that bad things happen and you can’t always control that no matter what you do... you can thank his mom for that btw. she helped sway him away from completely internalizing this event and taught him some very important life lessons.

since then Sonic has been no stranger to loss but he’s gotten good at handling it over the years, seeing as he’s had to say goodbye to many people in his life. it still hurts, though. he will do everything in his power to not lose those people who hold that place in his heart

▸      WHAT    ARE    SOME    FOND    MEMORIES    YOUR    MUSE    HAS ?  

flying in his grandpa’s plane for the first time, it was the coolest thing he’d ever experienced in his life at the time. 

another time would be soaring above the city tops of grand metropolis with his teammates (in sonic heroes), like honestly traveling as that trio for a while was such a thrill and he sometimes misses those days

▸     IS    IT    EASY    FOR    YOUR    MUSE    TO    KILL ? ....not really, no. sonic really doesn’t like killing and will do just about anything to avoid doing it unless it really, really comes down to the only option he has. and let me tell you, sonic takes no pride in being responsible for the death of someone else, no matter who that person is.

▸      WHAT’S    IT    LIKE    WHEN    YOUR    MUSE    BREAKS    DOWN ?

oh boy.

sonic’s breakdowns are honestly really subtle, and that’s because they’re a slow process that consists of him cracking and crumbling and then trying to hold it together and build himself back up because he can’t afford to break down and then cracking and crumbling again but never really allowing himself to have that moment where he actually snaps and falls apart.

the signs you’ll want to look out for will be him avoiding people way more often than usual, becoming irritable and his temper flaring up, exhaustion from lack of getting amounts proper sleep, he pretty much starts to self destruct a little bit and it’s not a pretty sight. it’s why he especially tries to avoid people when he gets like this because he doesn’t want them to see whats actually going on.

ok, sonic is such a huge sap and he hates it LOL. he’ll suddenly catch himself thinking all wistfully about the person he’s in love with and will be like “really?? right in front of my salad??” LMAO it’s just in his nature to be cheesy and sappy and do sweet things for the person of his affections because that’s exactly how his dad was but at the same time he’ll mentally take a second to point out how lame it is and he embarrasses himself over it ashdfkd

besides that, though, sonic is a real big sweet heart, and he’ll really want to try to express to that person how much he loves them but he’d also fear this whole romantic side of him coming out will interfere with his love of adventure. the idea of committing himself to one specific person in a way that makes them feel like his whole world to him is a bit scary to sonic, because he knows that he can’t really afford that when he’s out here saving lives and going on adventures. how could he possibly have the time for that, anyway? can this person keep up with him? would he be willing to slow down for that person? it just begs so many different questions and forces sonic to face possible changes to his entire way of living and it freaks him out a little bit.

which is why he tends to avoid romantic topics in general, and also why when he gets a crush on someone he goes straight into panic mode LOL. he’d honestly rather stay friends with the person and quietly adore them in his own time, maybe by sending them gifts or dropping by their place on occasion, DEFINITELY, AT LEAST making an effort to spend a little bit more time with that person than anyone else.
