YES. Finding legitimate sprites directly from Toby Fox games can be surprisingly difficult. There are so many fan-made character sprites, that it can be hard to differentiate from the real ones!

Guess how many are NOT fan-made? .....only one 🗿

Official Websites like Spriters Resource (Ralsei's Offical Sprite Sheet) are very helpful in this regard :)

They may even include unused file graphics. Like this unused face of Ralsei.

Sprite legitimacy is a big rabbit hole that I personally don't have enough knowlege on :( ((BUT OH MY GOSH The internet is notorious for reposting fan-spriteworks without sourcing. It can be really hard to find the original artist.))

It's also HILARIOUS how many people have redone Ralsei's sprite. It is quite obvious from my Ralsei poll and through his mass of fan-redesigns, that many people in the Deltarune community REALLY LOVE his Chapter 1 sprite more.

Ralsei sprite fan-art is amazing and I personally want to mod it into my game bc it looks so good. Below I have some really cool fan-sprites I found and the artists who made them!

Looking back at Ralsei's Chapter 2 head sprites..... they just don't look as good as they could in my opinion. I dont like them :(...uhhh NO HATE OF COURSE!!..ahklasdkflansdf I'll go jump in this hole now.

I refuse to go into more detail, but, I will no longer hold my tongue. my biggest gripe with this fandom is the way a majority of it erases Lo'ak's actual trauma and struggles (with his identity, his father/family, his clan, etc), and essentially gives him Spider's traumas/struggles in some idealized form (whether for over the top and oversimplified "hurt/comfort" scenarios, or max woobification), while absolutely dragging and/or ignoring Spider's entire character and the realistic depictions of those traumas and what that does to a kid.

like I can't exactly put words to it or go into a deep analytical post, but I've been thinking about it, and some other stuff I've seen online have been making me think about it.

stop doing a disservice to both of my boys. they both have such interesting and complex stories and you're ruining it!!!

I jokingly thought before that reading Junie B. Jones as a kid turned me into a feminist, but unironically, it kind of did.

I honestly think it comes down to the fact that Junie B. was not only allowed to be "weird," but her character arc never concluded like other girl characters would. In other media featuring "weird girls," the girl always ended her arc tamed - by force or convince, she would be prettied up, she would smile and be polite, and she would never speak out of turn. She would be perfect then, and would shed her veneer of individuality with the freedom that is conformity. As a kid, I noticed that girls weren't permitted to be "weird" like boys were. So when I read Junie B. Jones, I loved that she was frankly just fucking weird. She said things out of turn, she was rambunctious and imaginative and she was a realistic portrayal of a little girl. I loved reading those books because the narrative taught her lessons without punishing her for being weird, if that makes sense. So often, narratives punished weird girls for the crime of being a socially unacceptable girl, not for any true wrongdoing like lying.

Anyway, I just think it's interesting, because I watched and read a ton of books and shows and movies featuring girls and women, but none of them truly empathized with (or even tried to empathize with) weird girls on their own merits and capabilities and terms, or embraced the idea of a "socially inept/unacceptable" girl without punishing her in some way for her supposed ineptitude.

Verbs conjugations in spanish are so specific it's not necessary to write the pronoun to indicate if it's first, second or third person.

Is a very direct translation but without "eso" (it) because is not needed.

However, it/eso generally has an objectified connotation which makes sense as Bill distances himself from the monster so Ford makes no connection.

But in spanish, since no pronoun is used, it feels more like a hint than a cover-up.

Something that I'm still thinking about from my talk with my rabbi is the idea that g-d is who you need Him to be. In fact, I (personally) think it's a vital aspect of the idea of "I am that I am."

In the desert, manna was given, and - as my rabbi explained - tasted different to each person. To me, the idea that this sustenance adapted to each person means something - easily, g-d could have decided to make the manna homogeneous in taste, and wouldn't that have been easier? The manna is part of g-d, I believe, and therefore, how He decided to deliver it says something about His nature and Who He is. Therefore, it makes sense that g-d can adapt to be what you need.

To some, g-d is Somebody to fear. A person's life may make more sense if they feared g-d, revering Him in a way that no person on earth could ever hope to receive. To others (including myself), this doesn't make sense for what we need g-d to be. But these are all equally true aspects of g-d.

We see over and over again that g-d is a King, like a Father, jealous, loving, compassionate, vengeful, patient, forgiving, emotion-filled, and so many things. But I don't necessarily think He is all of these things in equal measure for each individual person. Each person comes to g-d with their own baggage, and I think g-d recognizes that. This is why I personally hate when other people discredit somebody else's relationship with g-d. I don't think the person that fears g-d within their very soul is any more or less correct than I am because g-d exists even beyond all of our conceptions of Him. He is Beyond that, but also is everything we perceive Him to be. G-d is right in front of us. G-d is within us. G-d is hidden in plain sight. G-d is what happens when we're making other plans.

For myself, I have stated before, but I relate most to g-d when He is like a friend. My relationship with g-d is something I continuously renew, even when I feel disconnected to Him. I choose g-d, and I think He also chooses us.

The Mummy (1999) is just one of those movies I grew up watching a lot so the more I watch it, the more I do think about parts of the movie and either question it or think it's funnier than intended.

The river scene is definitely one of those scenes.

It came to me a long time ago that Beni was probably was the first one to make it onto shore because Rick threw him off before things went haywire on the boat.

But now I'm thinking that Beni not only was on shore before anyone else, but he was on the wrong side of the river for that long, too.

Even funnier is that because he was on shore first, he probably flagged down his group and everyone else like "Hey, over here!!" and no one realized he lead them to the wrong side of the river because they were more concerned with getting out of the water (which is fair).

Now, I do have a question... just how strong is Rick and Beni's hearing? That river was WIDE. Ain't no way they heard each other that clearly. 😆
