Are there any trigger warnings for goodbye my princess?
Boatloads, probably! But for this kind of thing? It might be easier to ask about any specific dealbreakers you have yourself, than for me to try think what someone else might have a hard time watching and want to avoid. (I’ll try to list anything I can think of in the tags, though! If there’s anything not listed you wanna know about, send me another ask.)
#like uhhhh this show does not feature Game of Thrones level of super creative cruel violence#but a lot of people do die#the death count is quite quite high#there’s a lot of stabbing#a few poisonings#some strangling#various suicides or suicide attempts via various methods#no on-screen rape#I can only think of one actual unequivocal instance of a character having being previously raped off-screen#one or two instances where there *might* have been some dubious consent#in one case it’s unclear whether there was any sex at all (probably not given the larger context of everything)#and in the other it’s like. mmm. the way it’s depicted is a little creepy#but both people are willing and it’s more that the circumstances of them having sex is politically charged#someone voluntarily entered the emperor’s harem but was being shut out of sleeping with him#and to get around this he shows up while she’s alone in the bath#the sex is definitely consensual but it’s deliberately shot in a way that makes it feel transgressive and even a little predatory#and I feel like that’s worth noting#lessee what else#not a lot of child endangerment#some pregnancy/miscarriage/forced abortion trauma#unfortunately that comes up a few times. I think it’s a harem staple#all secondary characters—the female lead never undergoes any of that#no bodily mutilation at all I can think of#a lot of lying but actually less gaslighting than you’d expect#asks#goodbye my Princess
