Summary:
Fíli does the only thing he can think of. The one thing, that has worked two times thus far. He bends down and leans his face to Kíli’s left ear. “Don’t die. Don’t die, little brother,” he whispers, his voice breaking, and pulls back to look into Kíli’s ashen face. “Don’t die. Please don’t die.” Kíli’s face is calm, the fear is gone. He is deathly pale.
This time it does not work.
(Thorin and Kíli die on Ravenhill and Fíli becomes the King of Erebor, though this is not where this story starts. It begins in 2859 in Ered Luin, when a little Dwarfling is born, whose most important title will always be Fíli, big brother of Kíli.)
Chapter summary:
“No,” Thorin says immediately. “Little young, isn’t she?” Glóin asks. “I’d like to think about it,” Dís says. “I mean, if it is her wish?” Máris points out. “I want more totatoes!” Gimli cries and swings his fork. “Fine with me,” Óin grunts.
The whole table looks at Fíli, who peeks innocently at them.

Apparently, Elven marriage is only achieved with its consummation.
Cue to Kíli absolutely panicking before his wedding with Tauriel, because the closest he has ever been to a lass was an accidental brush of elbows and he's gotta get it right or they are not properly married.
Since he's way too embarrassed to ask his mother, he goes to Fíli, as always. Unfortunately, Fíli is ace and doesn't have a clue either, but if he's one thing, it is resourceful.
So, they end up sneaking into Óin's office and have a look at his anatomy books.
In the end, it is helpful, but Kíli does wish that Fíli would stop calling it the quest for the elusive pearl.
