It's just barely possible to stand firm. I know the most draining is my workplace. It's a vicious circle. Because of work, I simply don't have the energy to look for a new job. What should I do? Needs a soft love. Reader is someone that reassures him CONSTANTLY that they still love him and don't find him annoying. He needs someone that will match his gooey and over the top love style. Someone, soft, patient, and just as obsessed with him as he is to them. Unmatched Co-dependency and go everywhere together. If they aren't breathing the same air they're too far away

Geto ~

He needs a challenge. Reader will push back and put up a bit of a fight, especially when he's being hard headed. He loves with his whole heart and excepts the same. Some bullying vibes on both ends but it's more loving teasing. It isn't necessary to always be doing the same thing but there's normally some for of physical contact. Grabbing his shirt, his feet under your legs, fingers just barely touching, just some form of connection

Nanami ~

He wants someone level headed but goofy. Reader is the only person that keeps a smile on his face and makes him laugh. Reader become his world, his star, what his day revolves around and they feel the same. He wants someone he can peacefully co-exist with. Talking, touching, and being around each other 24/7 isn't needed, it's enough to just be in the same area.

Toji ~

He needs someone so insane, he's the normal one. Not judging him for his line of work because Reader does the same thing. If he's hard headed they're a brick wall. Reader looks at him like he's the only person in the world though. He never has to get jealous because they only have eyes for him. He is the light of their life, but Toji feels the same. Secretly co-dependent. Will never actually say it but if either gets up to go somewhere the other silently gets up to follow. The only time either leaves the house alone is for work and even then they work together a lot

Sukuna ~

Badass. His world revolves around strength and only the strong are worthy, Reader is strong. Reader has no fear and told him to fuck off the first time they met. He tried to kill the reader but just couldn't? Has been obsessed with them ever sense. They are warm, soft and kind until something happens and it's like a switch flicks and they are just as crazy as Sukuna. Also completely unbothered by his cannibalism or murdering. Has no desire to "fix him" will just match his freak. They spend most of the day apart but the second they're together again they are trying to fuse together with how close they are

Choso ~

He needs someone patient and kind. He's new to the world and needs someone that can slowly explain thing or answer his questions as he learns. Reader never so much as raises their voice even if they are pissed at Choso. Soft, loving and delicate. Reader treats him like a wet cat and will handle him with care, in return he gives unconditional love. They would live in each others skin if possible and are always going everything together. Complete package deal

Ino ~

Best friends turned lovers vibes. Reader and Ino may have been friends since childhood or just met a week ago but it's like they've known each other forever. Sarcasm and bullying are their love language while also constantly being obsessed with each other. Completely just two best 'bro' friends with benefits and love. They don't need to be together all the time but they just like it. They're each others safe space and peace and would rather game together than be anywhere else

Shiu ~

He likes them crazy. He didn't think he did until he met Reader though. The way Reader is completely and unapologetically themselves, even if they are insane, melts his heart and hardens his cock. Reader has no filter, if they think it, they say it and he likes the fact he doesn't have to play games with them. He also likes that Reader is his scary dog privilege. He can sleep soundly knowing the world would burn down and world war 3 would start before he was ever hurt. Emotionally or physically. They aren't in touching distance at all times but he knows Reader always has his location, or some form of eyes on him

Uraume ~

They need someone that will gently pull them out of their comfort zone. They need someone that understands they aren't the most expressive person and won't take offense to it. Slight sun and moon opposite vibes. If Uraume won't talk, reader will talk for them. Reader is absolutely a "They said no pickles" kind of person for Uraume. Reader likes to push Uraume but not in a way to make them uncomfortable. Uraume acts like they don't need or want affection but Reader knows better and will always pull Uraume onto their lap or hold their hand.

Yuki ~

Likes a bit of a challenge. Someone that will sass her and won't let her get away with everything. Reader takes charge in the streets but Yuki is in charge in the sheets. Reader will actively be arguing with Yuki with their head in her lap as she plays with your hair. Adventurous and up for anything they are chasing sunsets together and jumping into the ocean with their clothes on. They don't need each other but they want each other. They enjoy being close but can also spend weeks apart

Shoko ~

Reader is Gojo coded. Loud, excitable, bubbly ball of energy. Reader is probably best friends with Gojo actually. Reader and Shoko balance each other out. Shoko is more level headed, calm and it takes a lot to get a reaction. Reader is childish, excitable and gives big reactions to everything. She likes the excitement and unpredictability reader brings while she brings reader back down to earth and keeps them grounded. Reader will always want to be touching and holding Shoko, she's indifferent to it but enjoys their time together

Mahito ~

He is a little menace and needs someone that will keep him in line and put him in his place. He's low-key scared of reader but he likes the fear. Reader comes off as standoffish but is just very cool and level headed. Reader gives Mahito a soft, patient, gentle love but comes off very monotone and indifferent. Reader is very calculated and enjoys the chaos Mahito brings to everything. Mahito will do anything for Reader. ANYTHING. Mahito would live in Readers skin if he could without killing them. Reader isn't vocal about it but cares very deeply for him and is working on changing the world for him. Also enjoys the fact he acts like their shadow and follows them around

Sniper, romance extraordinaire!

It'd go well! No,, it'd probably go very… very slowly, especially at first.

The first step would be co-workers to friends. His mojo is that, just because you work with him, doesn't mean he's got to be buddy buddy with you. But, once that hurdle is past, he's already nearly attached at your hip half the time.

You would be the “He asked for no pickles.” To his non-confrontational self at points. He'd scamper off for alone time as often as he would without you at base, but if you're just chilling solo somewhere and he can see you, whether that be at base, between battles, or on off hours, you best believe he'll likely come sidle on in for some quiet company.

Speaking of quiet, that's how the development of your relationship (in every applicable sense of the word) would go. It'd shift almost unnoticeably like sand. Some days, the comfortable silence that usually settles between you while you both worked on your own things, together, would dissipate with small, or even deeper talk.

He'll eventually start bringing you coffee, or tea, or water or any other drink you like that he's got on hand when he's making himself a coffee. Placing it at your table, then patting your head and asking “How’s things?” And just listening slowly becomes one of the easier parts of his days.

After, and with that, he'll start offering you to come out with him when he needs to drive out somewhere. Between him and the truckie, it's usually 50/50 on who's doing what haul.

“Y’alright? Been working on that…” He'd glance down at whatever paperwork or the likes you were working on. “That, for a while. Want a breather? The doc's given me a list and a half of stuff to get and bugger if I know what half of it is.” it's hydrocortisone and wet wipes. You almost want to think he can find those himself, (he can), but can easily imagine him finding wrinkle cream and thinking it's the same. You obviously go with him either way.

The moment he realises he feels something different about you would absolutely take place on a night drive. It would be the most mundane of trips, grabbing supplies to fetch back to base, probably a bag of bird seed on your lap for the doves. He's hardly focused on the road since you wound the window down and leant out to it. There's just the flashes of dim yellowed streetlights illuminating your features, whispy hair flickering out behind you, he's almost in the other lane at this point.

Something about how at peace you look —have always looked– around him, the fact that you've shown pretty much nothing but kindness and silly banter to him, it aches. It makes his heart ache so much that it hurts, he wouldn't consider himself eligible in any sense until you made it disastrously obvious.

If you're the type of person to nonchalantly say “I love you”, he probably won't respond at first. He'll freeze up a little, squint his eyes and go. “Yeah, right… I bet you do.” And snicker to play it off, inside he's probably questioning everything he's ever done in life up until that moment. It'd take a while for him to say it back, and by that point you're probably already snogging him so it'd be well overdue.

You would also probably have to be the one to strike the match that brings your romantic relationship to life, most likely. Unless he's pissed off his gourd you've got Buckley's chance of him initiating anything.

The special moment would likely take place at a nice comfy campfire. It'd be a cool autumn evening with a small but warm and blazing fire at your feet. You're both sat next to eachother, just outside his camper, on some tatty fold out chairs he found in the storage, drinking beers and laughing over old stories, and more recent ones.

Eventually, stars twinkling overhead with minds full of the other’s memories, you'll end up grasping at eachother like there's nothing else in the world. The moment will probably get broken only by a beer getting spilt into the fire and almost lighting you both on fire LMAO

gotta love this guy! hope this is up to par, wasn't sure if I wanted to go with just headcanons or something a lil more with this, so kinda went the middle road :) thank you for the ask <3

Prompt: ok ok i have a pretty vague idea that i really love. y/n would be a burglar who breaks into the pizzaplex on christmas eve/day (cos no one wants to work at christmas time, so there should be minimal security, right?..). but they quickly sense they are not alone and dca interaction ensues :') i feel like you could go different ways with this, full chase sequence, or just witty banter with the dca. you can play with around the y/n's motives for committing theft/breaking in. i'd love to see what you cook up :D

The side door opens with a click, and as it creaks ajar, you can't help the grin that splits your face. Success, and after 15 minutes of fumbling in the cold, you're more than happy to finally get inside. And get to work, for that matter. 

You shove your kit back into your pocket, and adjust your mask. Slinking inside, it's as quiet and dead as you hoped. Even the cameras, which you'd think they'd bother to power on for this very reason, don't seem to be active. All the better for you, really. 

Still, you proceed with caution, while the place is more than dead in terms of human staff, there are some bots lingering about. From the last time you were in here you think they were just called S.T.A.F.F. bots? Doesn't matter, you didn't need to take any chances. 

You keep to the shadowy parts of the building, making your way to your first stop; Chica's gift shop. You make quick work, grabbing the limited edition kids jewelry set, and a plush or two for good measure. You make similar stops throughout, a makeup set and costume from Roxy's, a gator golf mini club set, a microphone signed by Freddy himself. Not to mention again, anything else you can grab your hands on. 

You wanted this trip to count, if you were going to be doing something illegal, might as well go all out, yeah? 

You won't deny, it had been a bit of an inner conflict for you at first. You had morals, stealing was wrong and all that jazz. However, stealing from a multi-million dollar corporation who wouldn't even notice the teeny-tiny little dent you've made in their merchandise? Yes, still wrong, but surely not nearly as bad. At least, that's what you tell yourself. 

You glance briefly at the list in your hand, and the map in the other, as you chow down on a cupcake you swiped earlier. You're sitting on a railing overlooking the atrium, the area quiet enough to not draw any attention. Though, still so far so good from what you've been able to tell.

None of the main attractions have been out and about, and if you had to guess, they were either doing their own thing in their rooms—which, an odd but endearing thought to have—or they were simply powered down to conserve energy over the holidays. Regardless, you're able to check off the locations on your map, and the items on your list in an easy peace. 

As luck would have it, you're well ahead of schedule. Only an hour or so in and you're already down to your last location. Circled in red marker and starred; Lucky Stars Gift Shop. 

You'd saved it for last because it was one of the trickier ones to get to. But, with how easy the rest of the night has been, you'd argue it's well worth the risk at this point. While your haul was more than enough, you knew that if you could score there, you'd be set. 

So, finishing your cupcake with a wipe of your shirt sleeve, your off. 

When you arrive, much like all the other locations, the door is thankfully unlocked. You slip inside, and set to work. You were looking once more for a specific item in particular, in this case as set of pajamas. Smalls, along with a pair of matching nightlights if you could find them. 

You find the pjs soon enough, stuffing them in with the rest of your haul. It was starting to get heavy now, and you truly looked the part of a burglar with your big canvas sack. To be fair, it wasn't like you could fit all this in your backpack. Even though you'd foolishly considered it for a brief moment. 

The nightlights are a harder find, not anywhere within easy sight among the toys and stuffies scattered throughout the darkened shop. To be safe though, you swipe a few of those as well. 

You finally spot your prize while doing a sweep over the entire place, both set up on a high shelf behind the counter. You puff out your cheeks, of course they just had to be there of all places.

You shake your head, no matter. You weren't leaving without those nightlights. Especially after catching the sight of the price when trying to order online. Just for merch for the Daycare Attendant of all things. 

Setting down your bag, you start to climb onto the counter, swaying slightly in your rush. You lean over the gap behind the counter and the shelf, finding that you just barely can't reach.

You grit your teeth, and lean further, doing your best to keep your feet steady. When your hand makes contact with a box, you internally cheer. Quickly, you grip it, and the other while you're at it. 

You struggle to contain your excitement, giggling to yourself as you step fully back onto the counter with your goods. 

"Well now, what do we have here?"

"Something of a thief, by the looks of it." The voice turns darker, chuckling. "And not a very clever one, at that."

You freeze then, but keep calm. You were too close now. You weren't expecting any guards at this point, but certainly you could handle these two, you've come too far to not try, anyway. 

You turn, tone smooth. "Well, that's not very nice. I think I've been doing pretty good so far—" The words die on your tongue when you realize that the person behind you are in fact, one bot. One of the very bots that strongly resembled the ceramic copies in your hands.

The blue and white animatronic tilts his head at you, red eyes narrowed. Moon, from what you already know.

"You were saying?" He asks. 

Initial shock gone, you shake your head, huffing as you hop down from the counter. "I believe I've done pretty well so far, not to toot my own horn or anything. And with these, I'll be more than happy to get out of your hair. Or, whatever the equivalent is for you, I suppose." You stuff the nightlights in your bag, head held high. 

"Is that so? You'll just walk on out of here, without a bit of confrontation or trouble?" The naptime attendant sounds more amused than anything, so you'll keep trying your luck. 

You shrug. "Well yes, I really would rather not be a burden on you. Would hate to be the cause of disruption so close to the holidays. Consider it a gesture of the heart." You put your hand to your chest, bowing slightly. 

"Gesture of the heart—" Moon laughs then, hard. 

You take the chance to slip by him, crossing your arms as you lean against a clothes rack. "Something the matter? I'll have you know I mean what I say, especially to a pretty face."

"A pretty, pretty face?" He asks between chuckles. The bot pretends to wipe a tear. "My, you're a curious little thief aren't you?"

You wink. "I like to keep things exciting. No need for unnecessary tension and all that, you know? And if I wasn't on the job, well, I'd be using more than just my words, let's say that."

You're almost to the door now, hand ghosting over the handle. If you can get a head start, you'll surely make it. Unfortunately, you're not so lucky. 

"Well, I'm afraid to disappoint, but I believe tension is all I have to offer, you Star. I hope you'll understand."

You keep your eyes locked on each other for a moment more. Then, as he launches toward you, you rip open the door, running out into the light again. 

As you're running, you hear a voice call out behind you. "What? You're not going to try to woo me too? Am I good enough for you, Sunshine?"

"Of course you are!" You say back. "I just figured a change of scenery would do us some good, is all."

You find you have no other choice but to enter the Daycare itself. Certainly not your favorite option, but you can hear the playtime attendant gaining on your fast. You'll have to fake him out in here and hope for the best. 

He chuckles. "How kind of you! So tell me, what's convinced you this was a good idea, friend? You have me oh so curious."

"Ah, I wouldn't want to bore you with all the details." You wave your hand, then jump to climb one of the playset walls. "That's much less fun. Instead, tell me about yourself? You come here often?"

You hear him close behind, just missing at swiping your leg in his grasp. "Well, I live here, so as it would turn out, yes! You seem too familiar with the layout yourself, Starshine."

"What makes you think that?" You scoff. Though, you can't say he's wrong, you're just hoping the mask is enough to keep your identity a secret. Would hate to be banned now. 

You stare down at him, head in your hands as Sun stares up at you, rays flicking and eyes narrowed. "We got a peak at your little collection. You're well aware of what's the priciest items here! That's something that takes time, and planning."

"Aw, why thank you! If I wasn't preoccupied, I would return that compliment with more than just verbal appreciation."

He leans against the playset, gaze focused on you. "You could always try."

You grin, and for the briefest of seconds consider the offer, then shake your head. 

"Ah, I would. But I've got no guarantees it won't turn sour, in the end." You tsk drearily. "I'm afraid our love must stay as it is. Treasured from afar in secrecy. Surely you understand, no?"

 Sun nods, hand going to his faceplate just as dramatically. "Oh course, how foolish of me to consider such. If only—Hey! That's cheating!"

You snicker to yourself as you race across the playset. "I'm sorry, my dear! But time is of the essence. Perhaps another time I can listen to your sweet nothings—"

You slip, foot catching the wrong side of the plastic bridge. Your eyes widen as you begin to fall, then squeeze shut as you brace for impact. 

It doesn't come, instead, you find yourself in a reassuring grip. Peeking an eye open, you find Sun staring down at you, concern evident in his eyes. 

Your breathing is heavy as you wait for him to do something, anything. 

"I know those eyes." He says in the quiet. "It's you."

Ah, shit. 

In a state of utter defeat, and total shock, you wind up bound in a spare set of jump ropes, sat in one of the tiny chairs for good measure. 

Meanwhile, Sun is pacing the back and forth in front of you, speaking in a one-sided conversation to his counterpart. 

"But why, surely there's no reason for them to have been—"

"I know, I know. It's wrong, but that doesn't, no, no you're right."

"What if we, it might work. I just don't want to—" He turns to stare at you, then shakes his head.

You sigh. This blows. You'd spent so long planning this out, and now you're about to lose everything. Unless, you can convince them that you really meant no major harm. 

"Listen. I know this looks, bad. But I can explain!"

The bot turns to you then, curious, but suspicious. You don't blame him. 

Your head hangs low, guilt sinking in in that moment. "Look, money's tight. Really tight. Why do you think I come here to get daycare services? It's dirt cheap, you know. And, and the kids were just so excited for Christmas this year, I saw an opportunity and I just,"—You shake your head—"I'm not proud, at all. I just, wanted to give them something nice, you know? That's the honest truth. So, before you turn me in, please, just give me a chance. You can take everything back, but please let me walk out of here tonight. I, I won't come back, I'll find other arrangements, just please, please don't tell anyone about this."

You wait for him to start laughing at you, you expect it even. Even if it was the truth, it was still a ridiculous notion. All this for the sake of some toys? God, imagine what the cops are going to say when the get a load of this—

The jump ropes keeping you tied up suddenly loosen. 

Looking up, you see Sun's gaze is on you, unreadable in that moment. Then, he hands you your sack, and your backpack, and points to the door. 

"I, you're, you're letting me... really?" You're more than surprised, you're flabbergasted. 

He nods, helping you to stand. "I believe you, we both do. We've seen how much your care for them, and we understand. To a point, that is. Now hurry along, before it gets too late."

"I, I don't know what to say..."

Sun chuckles. "I think you'll be better off not worrying about your words for once, Sunbeam."

"Still, I just,"—you shake your head, and in a brief moment of unthinking, wrap your arms around the bot in a hug—"I mean it, thank you."

He stiffens, but returns the gesture. 

You pull away after a moment, slinging your bags back over your shoulders. "You know, if I'm not banned, we should um, do this again sometime. In a more, legal setting."

"O-oh?"

You smirk. "Yeah. What? I told you, I mean what I say."

You turn then, heading for the door before they change their mind. Though based on Sun's last words to you, you doubt that.

"We'd like that!" He calls, and for some reason, the sincerity of it makes you blush under your mask. 

Sure enough, when you discover that Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Plex is hiring, in Superstar Daycare no less, you find yourself easily able to fulfill that promise. 

"Almost ready for naptime, Starshine?" Sun asks as he comes up to where you stand leaning against the security desk.

You nod. "I am, but are you?"

"What makes you say that?" He asks, tone anything but innocent.

You tsk. "You've not been subtle today, Sunny. I can tell when someone wants to kiss me, it's my sixth sense, so to say."

"Just like how lock picking, bribery, pick-pocketing, and seduction~ are also your sixth sense?" He asks, leaning down to your height.

Your cheeks heat up, and you cough. "Of course."

Sun chuckles, closing the gap between the two of you with a brief peck. You are on the clock, after all. 

When he pulls away, flicking the lights off, you find Moon staring down at you with that same look. 

You huff, smile on your lips. "Let me guess, you want a turn now too?"

"Of course not." His hand cups your face with a tsk. "Could you think so little of me?"

You grin as he bends down further.

He shakes his head slightly, "No, I think I'll take a bit more than just one simple kiss."

"One not good enough for you?" You question. 

"Not for all the trouble you've been. I think at least three kisses are in order, to make up for it, don't you?"

Your arms wrap around his neck with a giggle. "Well, I certainly won't protest."

You meet somewhere in the middle, and just like you always do these days, find yourself grateful to your previous self for the, really, quite stupid idea of trying to break into the plex the night of Christmas Eve. 

Because sometimes bad ideas can have good outcomes, and this was a clear sign of that.

In fact I have the impression that most fans in this fandom are never satisfied no matter how SC acts, they'll always find something to say. I remember how they behaved towards each other in the early days, and a lot of fans criticized SC for acting like kids and being unprofessional when they appeared at different events and I sometimes felt the same way about certain salacious things that were said to journalists and which they were also criticized for. When SC were very demonstrative with each other, fans criticized them for selling the show, and I even read comments from angry fans on their SM at the time asking them to stop behaving like that and that S wasn't respecting his co-star. Some people tend to forget that today they're no longer in their thirties, 11 years have passed, they've evolved, they've mellowed. S no longer acts like the young boy who fell under his co-star's spell, they've both moved on in their careers and in their private lives. Their goal, I think, is to go on in Hollywood and at least get some good job opportunities, and you don't need to have done advanced math to know that if you act like a kid on the red carpet, it doesn't look serious nor professional. In addition, many fans continue to say that if SC managed to represent Jamie and Claire so well it's because it's real. I'm sorry but SC and JC are two different couples. When S says he's not Jamie and when C says she's not Claire, it's true. Is C a doctor? Is S a fighter? Is S as traditional as Jamie? Are SC as co-dependent? I don't know if you've noticed, but SC have repeatedly pigeonholed this saying that JC are so fused that Claire would even tell Jamie when she went to the bathroom because he'd be worried. S, of course said recently that it's good to play scenes with other protagonists and not necessarily Claire, to which S joked and added : I need some space ok? For me JC's spotless love doesn't represent reality and unless I'm mistaken I don't think SC's daily life is all about living on love and fresh air. I agree with you, though, that there's been a certain distance between Jamie and Claire for a few seasons now so I don't know if it's because they've grown older and wiser, so they're not going to jump on each other like they did when they were young or if it's because the distance SC set up between them for the public is unconsciously transposed to JC . In any case, I think that SC, and maybe S more than C now, have set limits and that when they take part in promotions they remain professional and it's no longer Sam and Caitriona as a couple but Sam and Caitriona as co-stars. For me, fans need to stop mixing the two, also out of respect for the actors. I don't think it does them any favors to dissect their slightest behavior, and they're perfectly aware that every move they make will be observed and commented on, hence the distance S has put up with C publicly. Sorry for my long speech but when I read certain things, I think that some fans and mostly Anons need to stop throwing their own expectations and dreams of the ideal couple onto these two people (SC). On the other hand, SC have allowed some fans to find comfort in JC's love, and we can thank them for that.

This is, indeed, very long and given my current circumstances, I had to read it twice in a row, in order to make sense of it.

I have to 1500% agree with you when you say two very important things:

'For me JC's spotless love doesn't represent reality and unless I'm mistaken I don't think SC's daily life is all about living on love and fresh air.'

With the amendment that JC's love is not exactly spotless, either. But that is Gabaldon's narrative choice, and as much as I detest her public persona (with a passion, can you tell?) she is queen on her page and of her own creatures. When she created them out of thin air, she assumed complete mastery over their destiny, even if any good writer will tell you that characters do have a life of their own - one of the most exciting mysteries of writing, indeed. Yet, it is ultimately up to the scribe to choose the words and to weave the story as they see fit. But yeah, SC not being a postcard couple is what makes them so damn endearing to me, in the first place, too.

You know, I really try to understand why this happens. There is so much tension and ugliness in this world, that you sometimes need a secret garden of sorts, don't you agree? It is harmless, it brings you solace & comfort, it's just that kind of daydreaming torpor your brain sometimes automatically switches on, in order to cope with hardship. Where I do see a problem, however, is going very vocal and public about it. And even more so, when people start to demand or believe they are owed at least an explanation (if not vindication), when These Two do not fit what definitely is to me a terrible, syrupy scenario.

Theory Time:

So I've been thinking about this dream and what it means.

(Can't wait for this to get shot down in Episode 3, but whatever)

Why is Tom dreaming about the Cyan Team when All Stars didn't happen yet in the timeline? Is he just psychic?

NO.

I said dreams were often Ludacris, and I stand by that, but there's still a ROOT to the cause of the dream.

In this case, it's Tom's memory of the day he got tortured.

Which ALSO roots to Tom's fear and paranoia of getting hurt with Jake.

PTSD is a bitch.

Anyway, here's my theory:

This is a Ludacris retelling of his memory with Disventure Camp contestants reanacting certain roles BECAUSE of the trauma root being Disventure Camp deep down.

After all, Tom brings it all up again later in the episode:

"When I was a spy, I would get cut, maimed, bruised, you name it. All of that wouldn't compare to the hurt I'd go through if Jake and I failed again."

So my claim isn't too far out there I feel.

So what do I think happened?

1: Tom was NOT doing that mission alone.

He was with a team assigned to him. They were doing this mission together.

2: One of the spies he was working with on that mission was ALSO NAMED Aiden

Why would he dream of Aiden from Disventure Camp if they hadn't met yet?

Well here's my belief:

Yes, Tom did not meet Aiden till All Stars. BUT he knew Aiden existed because of Season 2.

"But doesn't Eagle Eye start directly after Season 1?"

No, actually. They never said that.

What they DID say was that Tom went through "Police Academy Training" for the job. So, like... what if Eagle Eye starts a month or two before Tom got the All Stars call?

So, yeah, Season 2 would've been aired if that's the case, and if Tom saw it, he would know there was a contestant named Aiden.

And the reason he dreams of Aiden is because he had a spy co-worker that went on that mission with him, and he was ALSO named Aiden.

Were they just co-workers? Acquaintances? Friends? Crushes? Idk. Point is they knew each other.

The dream also shows Aiden getting kidnapped by Jensen.

Those are 110% Jensen's arms that grab him here.

So, at some point in the mission, Spy Aiden got caught by the culprits they were after and was kidnapped. And Tom witnessed it happen.

3: Tom's Spy Code Name Was 'Eagle Eye'

I don't think I need to explain this one. It's the name of the episode. Gabby and Ellie, impersonating Tom's co-spies here, call him 'Eagle Eye'.

4: The reason Tom failed his mission and got caught by the culprits

In the dream, Tom tries to fight off the protests to "Go save Aiden"

Transition later, and he's tied up.

So:

Tom was on a mission with a team, and in the process of that mission, a co-spy named Aiden got caught and kidnapped.

Tom tried to go save Spy Aiden, but the others warned him not to because it was very obviously bait the culprits were using to lure them in a trap.

But Tom did not listen to reason. He went to save him anyway. He COULDN'T leave his co-worker for dead.

And... the others were right to warn him. Tom got captured as well.

Then you have the culprits, played by Jensen in the dream, who proceeded to torture the now kidnapped Tom for information.

Based on HOW MANY scars Tom got from that experience, there are two possibilities:

Either: He gave in and spilled at the very first threat of a blade to his face, but they sliced him up to permanent scars anyway (because BAD PEOPLE).

Or: He resisted and refused to talk, and allowed himself to be tortured by SEVERAL measures, but ended up giving the info they wanted when his body couldn't take it anymore.

EITHER ONE WOULD WORK.

In my opinion, I think the latter makes more sense.

He mentioned he got interrogated by mob bosses and waterboarded in All Stars.

But... he only went on two missions. The Disventure Camp mission, and the one he got his scars from.

So if it WASN'T Disventure Camp where this happened, it was DEFINATELY the other mission.

"But why would he immediately say he'd talk in the dream?"

If this IS reenacting the memory of his torture in his head, then this could be him wishing he HAD just given up and talked at the first threat of being harmed. Maybe then he wouldn't have gotten his scars...

It would have probably made no difference and hey probably would've cut him up anyway. BECAUSE BAD PEOPLE.

One more thing: Notice Aiden is NOT mentioned again after the kidnapping.

Jake shows up in the dream and CRIES FOR HELP, which Tom responds by struggling to break free from his ties and saying he's coming.

HM, SOMEONE HE CARED ABOUT DEARLY CRIED FOR HELP, BUT HE COULDN'T GET TO THEM BECAUSE HE WAS TRAPPED.

...see where I'm going with this?

And if that's true, then that makes Tom cowering away from Jake to protect both of them for two years HURT THAT MUCH MORE.

Tom spilling info was definitely why the mission failed. That, and engaging with the culprits in an obvious trap when they weren't supposed to. The boss wasn't happy.

Either: Spy Aiden was saved as well as Tom, but ended up despising Tom for his attempt at helping so much he ghosted Tom and never talked to him ever again.

Or: Spy Aiden didn't get out of there. People came to save them, and Tom survived the torture, but Aiden died from the torture. That, or the culprits killed Aiden because they got what they wanted from Tom and decided "Welp, no use keeping the other guy alive."

Again, BOTH COULD WORK.

The former would explain where Tom got the ghosting habit from, and where he'd get the self loathing from. It would also explain his intense reaction to Jake's behavior in his Season 1 elimination.

After all, Tom got all these scars and was tortured trying to save someone he could've considered a friend, only for him to HATE Tom for trying to do that for him?

Well shit, maybe it IS better to just not get close to anyone at all. What more scars are worth it if THAT'S the gratitude?

The latter would also explain why Tom felt the need to ghost people, because HIS OWN ACTIONS got the guy killed.

If you want to make it extra angsty, you could say they killed Spy Aiden right in front of Tom.

"Oh look what you've done, Eagle Eye. This guy's dead because of you being the fuck up you are. Being a crybaby and not being able to take the pain, not being able to give your own life to protect your work or the guy you came to save. What a failure. You deserve these scars."

So does that mean Tom thought being around Jake would KILL them? No. Not necessarily. It would just mean he'd think his own failures and his own setbacks would only make things worse, and Jake would be worse off if he was with Tom in any way.

So better to be hostile and not try at all.

Or else it would all happen again. And he'd never recover.

Tom also mentioned the boss wasn't happy. So not only was the boss very disappointed with Tom in the mission's failure, he was resented for everything that happened. All the blame went on him. And, by the sounds of it, nobody had sympathy towards him in his newly scarred state and found him hideous. And if they did have sympathy, they didn't express it to Tom and kept it to themselves.

Episode 3 of the Spin Off is about Tom's backstory it looks like, so CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS TO GET PROVEN INCORRECT.

Do you think stars understand what you and that anon were saying about fandom being comforting? A place of refuge during lonely times? I wonder what it feels like to be so focused on the music making and the good collaborations with producers, photographers, designers, all that, and then the people at the end of it just talk about you being their comfort person. It must feel frustrating in a way. Like I can see that Harry seems to try to understand it and goes to an effort to say good things during shows. Or he's just a super duper nice man. But most artists ignore that - I suppose it is verging on the parasocial if it gets out of hand.

I think the question of whether or not stars understand how comforting fandom can be totally depends on the individual stars. These days, you can count on a number of stars knowing how much of a refuge fandom can be because they experienced it firsthand. Artists like Halsey and Mitski jump to mind, but across all genres you'll find artists who were passionate online fans before they became famous. They get it. Not saying they enjoy it when they themselves are the subject of the online fandom, but they understand what it means.

Then you have the artists who learned about it pretty quickly through their rapid ascent to fame. Pop artists like Harry and Taylor learned that their audiences' investment in fandom was integral to their success, and they embraced it to varying degrees and in different ways. In rock and alt/indie it's the same (I'm not familiar with other genre fandoms). Some artists engage, some don't. Some are oblivious to it and don't understand it.

I have no doubt that Harry genuinely appreciates and values the sense of community, friendship, connection, and support that his fans (not him!) have built up around him. I think he very much understands that it's not all about him.

As to artists being frustrated when they invest so much creativity and work into their art "and then people at the end of it just talk about you being your comfort person" - I don't think you're accurately representing online fandom. Yes, fans may see the artist as their comfort person but in general it's not a case of "just". It's not either/or. The part we're discussing here is the comfort/refuge of fandom; but that's additional. The crux of fandom is appreciation and emotional investment in the music. Interest in what inspired it, how and why it was made and with whom, and how it makes you feel.

Of course, online fandom spaces often skew away from the music and towards the personal - that's natural. It doesn't mean it replaces the music. For us for example, Harry hasn't released new music in nearly three years. He doesn't do reissues or remixes or featured artist collabs. We interrogated every inch of his music when it came out. He then took it on tour and we interrogated every inch of the live interpretations. It's been 18 months since he's engaged publicly. I've no interest in dredging up posts about lyrical interpretations or whatever.

But outside the online fandom space, Harry's music is part of my life. I listen to it all the time. Depending on my mood or location, I'm still discovering new connections with it. And that's predominantly where my fandom lives until he comes back to us.

Like, just last Monday I went for new year's dinner with a friend of mine at a restaurant where music is a big part of the vibe, they have DJs most nights etc. And they were playing a load of late 70s soul. My friend is a DJ and our music tastes differ hugely but converge on 90s indie and 70s funk :) So we were chatting about it when the DJ played Ain't We Funking Now by the Brothers Johnson, which Harry sampled for Daydreaming. I said it to her and she was really surprised - "Harry Styles? Really?! I'll have to check that out" - and that made me really happy cos I know she'll love it, and it's another little musical connection made.

I suppose what I'm saying is, being a fan of someone's work is not confined to online spaces. But the refuge and comfort of online fan spaces is something special and additional (and mine! 😀)

tbh I havn't really been able to nail a voice-claim/hc down for Button. Though I def think he would have a more masculine-sounding voice, but with some sort of quick to it (like being raspy or squeaky) the only thing I know for sure is he needs like, a loser white guy voice.... if that makes literally any sense

also I think they have the vibe of a character whos eng and jp voices are very different but somehow both work equally very well (like calcifur and meowth, both of those have very different directions taken with their voices but both work in the same way somehow??)

ummm some potential candidates are Charlie Day, Jack McBrayer, maybe Jason Ritter? Daniel thrasher has never voice acted but he's def a candidate

for some less simple things:

one of those little craft kits that gives you the supplies to make something simple like a felt plush sewn together with yarn, you could sew a little small star-button billow, and a little kirby plush and the aesthetic is all Button themed. Or maybe a a friendship bracelet craft kit? there's a lot of potential craft kits what with being from patch land

or maybe a merry magoland themed re-ment set that features a little Button working a booth

hell I've thought a lot about button merch just with what I could feasibly make happen. Button acryllic charms? Button buttons? a Button themed candy bag keychain? those keychains with the little magnet heart accesories? I could do that with Button and characters he's shipable with. standee with tail wag? glow in the dark standee and the stand part is a magic circle? button enamel pins? button ACRYLIC PINS?

a few ideas!

-epic yarn style! the story line is Button learns about Kirby's Magic sock and decides to visit home~

-game where you sail across the sea!!! Meta Knight wants you to collect a special flower that only grows on this one island, he's too busy with meta knight stuff to get it himself. So he has sent Button on this fetch quest. i guess you could make it into a platformer, but maybe it could be like a minigame collection? that would involve things like puzzle games to figure out navigation. or upkeep/tidying around the boat. maybe there could be 'events', like finding a waddle dee lost at sea and bringing them home. or needing to fix the boats engine

-prequel game of one of Button's journey's during angst-era. platformer but with a lot of puzzle aspects implemented

-if you wanted a more epic quest with co-op modes and all maybe Button caught wind of some powerful magic source and is seeking it in hopes of restoring his Halo, and of course theres a positive message in the end where no Button doesn't get his halo back but he got his Self worth back or smth. (the true halo was the friends we made along the way I guess) would still want puzzle aspects implemented

-game where kirby and co is on vacation but danger strikes and Button, Magolor, Taranza, and Marx has to take the place of Kirby and co.

-unrelated but take a moment to imagine Merry Magoland but with Button around doing his job. Imagine a special animation of them being shocked when the player gets a high score or smth

Okay, so there's one thing I REALLY like about the ending of the Shock Treatment 2015 Stage Musical Version and while it ties in to most of what I was talking about in my previous post, I just couldn't find a way to incorporate it into the text without it either not getting it's due attention or kinda taking over so I decided to separate it into it's own post....

So like I wrote before, "Shock Treatment" the movie's ending tries to go for a sort of bittersweet tone, with our heroes escaping

While the villains still 100% succeeded in their schemes and are quite literally rolling in they money they made exploiting the entire town's desire for social approval and fame, and are probably going to do this again somewhere else soon enough.

Buuuut... since basically every remotely-likable character has successfully escaped their scheme (including Oscar Drill and the Bits, who are otherwise VERY minor characters), it's actually kinda difficult to actually feel the sense of dread or pity or moral outrage that such a situation would create in real life. After all, everyone that stayed behind in Denton were always characterized as, at best, two-dimensional buffoonish conformist cartoons. We don't spend enough time with them to feel like actual humans whose flaws are getting exploited.

And also, our main foursome doesn't seem to care either! These people were all their neighbors and family and friends just two days ago, and their big happy final musical number just doesn't have any time for them to consider how terrible it is that Farley's plan succeeded or if they feel sad for any of the people they've left behind.

If the characters don't care... and the audience isn't really given a reason why they should care about these people more than the characters do... Then there's just a lot less edge in seeing this kinda 'Bad Guys Win' story.

And now, the Stage version already does better with this first point with their version of Ralph Hapshatt as one of the story's main leads, a very well-developed characters and also the guy who, by the end of the story, got happily strapped into a shock treatment machine that was illegally modified by his own hands just because he cannot refuse a chance to have a starring TV role

And also also, someone that our main characters do care about.

Despite the hostility of... basically all of their on-stage interactions, Betty still comes for her ex-husband, still singing "Anyhow, Anyhow", even if she can't stand him most of the time, she still wanted to save him from his own mistakes

But Janet stops her.

Maybe Maybe because it'll be too big of a risk to try to save him now, or maybe because they have too much to lose at this moment and they can't miss this opportunity to escape or just because Ralph isn't worth the effort and... maybe Janet is right about at least some of this, but abandoning Ralph in the hands of Farley and Co. is not an easy decision for Betty to make, and it probably isn't for Brad and Janet either, and it's definitely not easy for the audience.

Because unlike the majority of the movie's Dentonites, Ralph does get enough depth to feel like a person. A self-centered asshole? Sure, but an asshole person, more than just a caricature. And he's a person that people still cared for, and him dying from a failed electroshock therapy experiment on live television is still a bitter element in our heroes' sweet freedom.

And I just... really love how this is kinda creates new Meaning for 'Anyhow, Anyhow'. Like, in general, this adaptation is really good with subtly modifying and tweaking and recontextualizing songs to fit better within the Context of the story (For example, "Looking for Trade Fame" is REALLY great) and this one is just... really strong.

Like, the original context is not totally lost. I mean, outside of the shift from "our two main couples are totally going to Fuck and maybe have a foursome I dunno"

To "they are DEFINITELY having a threesome"

But this is still the happy ending song about no matter how hard things get, our heroes are going to live their lives and be together and fuck. But also...

"We just gotta keep going" as the thing that Janet tells Betty to stop her from trying to save Ralph. As the bitter reminder that sometimes you and your loved ones remaining free and happy and living their lives means leaving some people behind. Because sometimes life throws a lot of bad shit your way, sometimes the wind blows in a very cruel direction.

Because also...

"We just gotta keep going" as what Farley and the McKinleys say to themselves. They are also 'just gotta keep going', keep on going on exploiting and harming more and more people.

And this just does such a great job at conveying a bittersweet tone to the story's ending. It still conveys the happiness and freedom and love and triumph of Brad, Janet and Betty's personal victory, but also the personal tragedy of Ralph's story, and an ominous reminder of what Farley and Co are doing and will continue to do.

It's just.... the Shock Treatment Stage Musical is SUCH a great adaptation of the story and I really hope it gets more performances at some point.

There are a few Star Trek fics on my AO3 as well, and there's a multifandom xreader sideblog floating around somewhere that I am not going to tag because I consider it a Different Era and not reflective of the work I'm doing now. Even though I'm STILL getting notes on a Wolverine smut fic I posted all the way back in 2018.

Angsty endings aren't super my thing, to be honest. Most of the things I've actually finished have happy endings, just because that's my personal preference. Most of my angst is in the middle, and I'd say probably the angstiest fic I have (at least right now) is Traveling Song. Ari has...been through it. It used to be a whole lot worse before the first rewrite happened though.

I'm mentally ill about Codywan in a way I've never really been before or since, to be honest. They're my special little guys. Also, though, Octavious and Jedidiah from Night At The Museum, Obviously.

I think the most consistent feedback I've gotten is that my character work and humor are good, which does just make me feel real nice because characterization is something I worry about.

I am a total slave to the muse, my WIP graveyard is sprawling. I do think I could stand to be a little more descriptive at times, and I'm never going to claim that an English teacher wouldn't cry at some of my grammar. I'm a lot more concerned with how things sound than if they're technically correct.

18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

It's one of those things that's dependent on the characters, but when appropriate I do think it can add more depth. It also just makes sense for some characters--for example, you can be on either side of the clones-being-Mandalorian debate, but picking up another language from the trainers that the Kaminoans and likely their future generals don't know could only be in their best interest strategically.

19.) First fandom you wrote for?

Marvel I think. Pyro and I wrote a bunch of OC stuff in the 2012 era, and I think one of my very first ones was a Thor x OC that might even still be on ff.net.

Sometimes, if I get a particularly nice comment that makes me all excited. But I recently read a post where someone was saying you shouldn't reply to comments on your own fic on AO3 because it artificially inflates the number of comments on your story, and I was like :'(

Ooh, I've been specializing in angst since I got back into fic writing. Let me think... The Star Wars prequels are inherently angsty, so-- hope like the sun (Star Wars) this could be such a dream (Star Wars) what was once a garden (Star Wars)

Probably Mother (Star Wars), because even though it's angsty, it's a happy ending AU. I'm realizing a lot of my fics that I'm actually proud of have melancholy endings lol sh-boom (X-Files) is a good one too.

I mean, maybe I used to? When I wrote as a teen? Not so much "hate" as "this doesn't make sense," and half the time, the commenter was getting some fact about the fandom wrong anyway haha

Nope, never will

Never a crossover, although I have thought about an X-Files/NCIS crossover. Pretty sure I'd be the only one interested in it though. I am currently writing a Star Wars fanfic that is basically a retelling of The Sound of Music, which is probably as close to a crossover as I'll get.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

I can't. I'm so loyal to Tony and Ziva from NCIS, and they really are fantastic. But even I have to admit that Mulder and Scully are the blueprint. Nobody did co-dependent coworkers turned lovers like them. Both of them have WILD stories about how they ended up with a child though, and I love them for that.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Oof. The forbidden topic. I was writing a fic called "In the Eyes of Tali" on Fanfiction.net once upon a time before they brought back Ziva on the show, and a lot of people seemed to really enjoy it. It was basically the episode Family First from Tali's perspective, which I think is really unique, and then went on toward an eventual reunion with Ziva. I think I could theoretically finish it one day, but there's so much I'm writing now that I doubt it. Maybe I need the proper incentive.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I actually don't know. I've been told I capture characters' voices well before, that's really nice to hear. I hope I'm improving in the description department.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Probably maintaining good pacing, getting from point A to point B without rushing it, and actually making myself finish what I started. I'm also a little wimp when it comes to not getting comments or bookmarks on a fic, even if it's a small fandom and it makes sense that the engagement isn't as high as I hoped.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Occupational hazard in the Star Wars and NCIS fandoms. Star Wars you're dealing with made up languages (most often for me, Mando'a) and NCIS is usually Hebrew for Ziva. Best you can do is do the research, try to fact check Google, and provide translations if needed for context in the story.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Technically, Harry Potter. When I was 13 I started a story that I had grand plans for, posted 2 chapters on ffn.net, and then never touched it again lol. But the ones I actually stuck with were (now really cringe) NCIS fics, and they got a decent amount of attention on that site (and even among some old ladies on Twitter that would share links sometimes, how cute is that?)

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

So far, either Mother (Star Wars) or Beautiful (X-Files), but recently I've been putting out a lot that I'm finally proud of! I'm hoping they're actually good this time, and not the "good" that I thought I was writing in 2015. I've always hoped I'd build up a base of readers that enjoy my stuff and subscribe for when I post new fics, but I don't think I'm there yet. Easier said than done, especially on Tumblr.

It is interesting how people treat Colby and how people treat Sam.

I mean Colby is generally the more liked, popular and more beloved of the duo HOWEVER he gets oversexualised and basically treated like a disgusting man whore by the fandom like he's some kind of k-pop star who's signed all the clauses not to do all that stuff when he hasn't and he's doing perfectly normal behaviour for a man of his age (and it really is none of our business what his sex life is like so it's truly disgusting how obsessed with it people are)

Meanwhile on the other side, Sam gets none of the cross examination of his sex life stuff but he gets way more hate in all other aspects across all social media (i've seen so many posts saying truly horrible things about the man, from just insulting his looks, to saying how awful a person he is, to saying he's a terrible friend, to saying Colby doesn't need him etcetc). And half the time the hate he gets doesn't even make sense? I'm like 'at least give good reasons to hate the man?' He's also less popular and generally ignored by the fandom and I've often seen him referred to as the 'spare'. So all this is very weird to me, I don't think I've seen another fandom duo where the duo gets the same bad treatment as these 2 men. (It amazes me that SnC still like their fandom honestly considering how shitty a lot of the fans are).

But one thing I note from this is how it's understandable that neither of them are particularly active anywhere anymore when they both get a lot of hate (for different reasons) and harassment from crazy fans. Honestly I don't think I would want to be either one of them, cos one is ignored and hated for no reason, the other if overly sexualised and harassed and cross examined constantly in regards to his sex life, neither of those options sound fun to me, lol.

While I agree with you that Colby is the more popular and more oversexualized of the duo, and that Sam generally tends to be overlooked or more left to the shadows, I have to respectfully disagree on the hate thing.

While Sam does occasionally get barbs thrown his way, and people say rude things sometimes, nothing has ever or could ever hold a candle to the way Colby is treated. Colby has a very polarizing and unique experience with internet fame, in that he has the highest of highs, on the most extreme side of the love spectrum...but with that comes some of the ugliest lows I've ever seen anyone get.

I'll give you a handful of examples that I have readily available of the real disparity between the way the two are treated, below the cut (these are just off the top of my head things that I have available, not even a full list of everything that goes on):

Only one of these two men have gotten multiple viable, detailed, and fandom sanctioned and even celebrated public death threats...and it wasn't Sam.

Colby was once literally sent a public death threat so vile that he straight up left social media for over a week directly because of the hit it took to his mental health. You know what people did with that info? Created "tea room" accounts again and again with the express purpose of posting it around, and continuously tagged him and all his friends in it until Sam had to intervene and ask them to stop.

The death threat was still one of the ugliest things I've seen on the fandom side of the internet, and no I'm not re-posting it. Just know that it marked a turning point in how Colby interacted with fans that hasn't been course corrected to this day.

There was another occasion where he wound up trending on twitter because "fans" were telling him to kill himself over some silly little Twitter drama or another, and the whole thing got so out of control that it wound up being reported on Def Noodles.

He had his journal stolen in SF and posted about it, and people were literally tagging him in shit telling him he deserved it and that it should've been worse.

Do you know how many times Colby had to trot out the notes app and do the apology tour on twitter because he did such aggregious things like wished women a Happy Women's Day, said he didn't like stick figure art, went for a walk on Jan 6th, the whole "queerbaiting" saga (which ONLY Colby caught flack for, btw...Sam participated in that shit too but not one person came at him tooth and nail over it. He also, btw, let Colby out to dry for that one as well)? There was a point in time where the only time he was ever on twitter was to apologize for something that only he was getting straight up hate for....cause sorry, but I don't think telling someone to kill themselves over something is "calling someone in" or whatever the fuck you want to call it. Sam wasn't posting about the Jan 6th riots either, Sam never spread a single piece of misinformation about [insert event here], but only Colby was sent hate and vitriol over that.

There was a period about 3 years ago where Colby spent about 20 minutes pretending to be dating Amber Scholl. Both she and Colby immediately started getting death threats, to the point where he had to make a video addressing and apologizing for pretending to have a girlfriend for less than a day.

A few months later, Sam and Kat spent a MONTH pretending to be engaged to prank their fanbase. The response they got? "Oh haha, you silly gooses, you got us good! What a fun prank, thanks for that!"

Here's a couple comments I saw recently while casually taking a look at Colby's cancer free post from people wishing he had straight up died from the cancer (I've seen countless other comments like this across instagram and tiktok; I shudder to think what's being said on twitter). I didn't even have to scroll for these. They were right on top. Im sure if you scroll, there's more:

There are fan accounts on other social media sites that will tag Colby in shit regularly, calling him stupid, calling him a whore, going after his looks. They've boiled him down to the dumb hot one: a bag of meat and sinew with a pretty exterior and nothing inside, and then they shame him for the looks when they've already got hom thinking that's all he brings to the table. He grows a mustache? He's an asshole. He gains 5 pounds because of medical issues (or for any reason, really)? He's now fat and ugly. He got acne, how fucking dare he get acne, I never liked him anyway especially now that he's ugly. He stops dyeing his hair, or dyes it a color they don't approve of? High treason.

The fandom treats him like a character in their little Sims game that they can control and puppeteer the way they want him, and they also treat him like their little punching bag at the same time. He's their little y/n fantasy, but only if he fills the pre-requisites and doesn't step even one toe out of line.

They definitely ignore and overlook Sam sometimes. They definitely say some rude shit about him, too, here and there. But overall, the fans that do acknowledge Sam treat him like he's a human being, which is already stratospheres away from how they treat Colby on either side of the spectrum.

If I were given the choice? I'd prefer not to walk in either of their shoes, lol. But, if pressed, I'd walk a mile in Sam's shoes easily. I wouldn't even look at Colby's, let alone put them on.

Now, does it all even out? Colby gets a hell of a lot more love and attention overall, yes. Is it worth the death threats and the hate and the constant meddling into your life to the point where you're having nervous breakdowns over it? I don't know that it is.

Is it better to spend your life playing second fiddle to someone like that, but to also not have to deal with the constant scrutiny and the death threats? I don't know, I guess it depends on prerogative. Either way, to your last point: this is definitely why neither one of them are a heavy presence on social media these days, and fans have nobody but themselves to blame for it.

G1 Climax Day 2 preview

D Block: Tetsuya Naito vs. Jeff Cobb - Naito is 3-0 against Cobb, which might explain why this match doesn't have any sizzle for me. It's just kind of there, and it feels like it's the main event just because Naito's the biggest star on the card.

Naito is my pick to win the whole tournament; pitting him against SANADA at Wrestle Kingdom for the world title just makes a lot of sense. If I'm right, that means New Japan has to spend the whole tour trying to convince you he's not the obvious favorite. And their favorite way to do that is book a guy into a 0-2 or 0-3 start to put them on the brink of elimination. The fact this match is going on last almost telegraphs that the big story of the show will be Cobb getting a win over Naito.

C Block: Tama Tonga vs. EVIL - I don't expect either of these guys to do better than 4-3 in the block. Actually, Evil could do a lot worse if they book him like his buddy SHO in the Best of the Super Jr. a couple of months ago. Tama's cool and I'd like to see him pushed, but seeing as Tanga Loa is finally back those two should get back in the tag title hunt as soon as the G1 ends. I don't think the outcome of this one is going to make much difference in anything.

D Block: Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi - Sabre is the NJPW World television champion; Tana is one of the NEVER trios champions. I could see either of these guys winning the block, with Naito barely squeaking by as runner-up.

A few years ago it felt like Sabre had Tana's number, but in singles matches Tana leads the series 6-4, and Sabre hasn't beaten him since 2019. I could see Sabre winning to even the score up a little. Although it would make sense for Tana to get a win to set up a TV title match. Note that this year's block matches have a 20-minute time limit, whereas Sabre's whole deal as TV champ is that nobody can beat him in fifteen. So if Tana does win, I expect it to be about 17 minutes in.

C Block: Eddie Kingston vs. Shingo Takagi - Eddie is the new STRONG champion, having won the belt from KENTA on July 5. I think all of Eddie's New Japan matches have been under the Strong brand, but now he's really in New Japan, y'know? Beating a former IWGP world champion in his G1 debut would be huge, even if Shingo isn't protected as much as some other former world champs. I'd go ahead and do it, but New Japan is more conservative than I am about giving out big statement wins like that.

I was going to say I don't think either guy is going to make it to the knockout stage, but as I look over all of C Block, none of those guys seem like strong candidates. So hell, maybe the idea is to keep the tippy-toppy guys out of the way so Eddie can win the block. It wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. I'll certainly be rooting for that to happen, but I bet I'll be disappointed a lot.

D Block: Alex Coughlin vs. Shane Haste - Coughlin is one of the STRONG tag team champions, alongside his partner Gabe Kidd. I'm sure at some point Coughlin and Kidd will have to contend with Haste and his own partner, Mikey Nicholls. But for now they're just two tag team guys in a singles tournament, so I don't expect much from either of them. I'd put Haste over to remind everybody he exists, but they may want all the new Bullet Club guys to shine in the early going.

C Block: Mikey Nicholls vs. Aaron Henare - I don't think Nicholls will do any better than Haste in this tournament, but chances are he can beat Henare. I really thought last year Henare would make a big impression in the G1, but now I've given up on the poor guy. If he can beat Nicholls, good for him, but I don't expect him to do better than 1-6.

D Block: Hirooki Goto vs. Toru Yano - Goto is a co-holder of the IWGP heavyweight tag team championship. Yano is mainly a comedy bullshit guy in the G1, but occasionally his comedy bullshit leads to a win that shakes up the standings. Interestingly, Yano has not beaten Goto in nine years. Something tells me he's due.

C Block: David Finlay vs. Tomohiro Ishii - Finlay is the NEVER singles champion and Ishii is one of the NEVER trios champions. I'm very confused this is the opening match. Finlay is getting the strangest "new leader of Bullet Club" push I've ever seen. This is a rematch from Finlay beating Ishii in the New Japan Cup, which suggests Ishii might get his win back. If it's me I have Finlay go 5-2 and at least finish second in the block. But I'm not so sure they're as committed to him as I think they should be.

They had the ceremony at a town hall so very little fanfare or anything like that, and then a party sometime later which if I remember correctly some Leto-related folks posted from or were mentioned in other people's posts (EL, and might have even been CL) but nothing on either bro, as far as I can recall.

SL was probs a no-show cos he was going through all sorts of "things" back then so him sitting out a party where folks got drunk and all that would make sense. 🤷🏼‍♀️

And as for JL...

Well, could have gone either way I guess! Maybe he did go cos it was "just" a party and not a "wedding-wedding" with the church thing etc., which let's be honest here he seems like he'd rather skip! 🤭

The only wedding I can ever recall JL attending as a guest was, of course, Uncle T-Bag's. 👀

The other wedding we know he attended was EL's but of course she had to make HIM the star of her big day so that doesn't count as him "attending" anyway. 🙄

Asian TV Shows Watched in 2024

And here is my 2024 list! All shows listed are ones that have completed airing.

This time I put them in sections - Thai, Japan, Korean, China, Honorable Western Media. Each section lists the shows from fav to least fav.

Thailand:

This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans - Is this the best written show? Nope. Does it have anything serious to say? Nope. Is it probably my new comfort show? Yep. This show is so silly and overdramatic at times but ngl SailubPon have such good chemistry that I could watch them all day doing the most whack things. And that's why it's at the top of the list.

Moonlight Chicken - Loved it! Felt so authentic. Relationships are messy at times, they don't always work out, life sometimes really really sucks and horrible things happen to good people.

Cupid's Last Wish - the acting was very well done and the pining was also chef's kiss. The ending was meh, but from my experience I'm not a fan of how most Thai BL wrap up their shows, so wasn't too bothered by it. Pleasantly surprised by how respectful some bodyswap elements were done, like the period. Did still have some annoying stuff, like Win being so much weaker in Lin's body, though they did say that Lin had some sort of sun sensitivity but it was blink and miss it compared to all the times they say Win has to be careful when in her body.

A Thousand Stars - This show did make me cry and I enjoyed it, but it got a bit too overdramatic in the last couple of episodes which is why I controversially liked it less than Cupid's Last Wish (which also was overdramatic at the end, but it didn't feel as drawn out imo). Anyways, Earth and Mix get the best GMMTV shows imo because all three of them felt more mature than the company's normal offerings and overall had solid storylines. Hopefully their adaptation of Ossan's Love continues that trend...

Manner of Death - A solid mystery show that was well acted, directed, and shot. Didn't need the full 14 episodes imo, but the ending was actually pretty solid. I do think this show would have been better as a GL - just because it was kind of frustrating to see most of the woman be victims but none of them were a main character.

My Stand In - Love the concept and was a fun watch. Need to suspend disbelief over one of the main couple falling in love with a person based on just seeing their back but it's fine it's good, don't think too hard when watching this show. Expected it to be more toxic than it was actually.

Pit Babe - a wild ride. Ngl though, didn't care for the main couple oops! AlanJeff all the way and the other side characters were what kept me engaged.

Every You Every Me - love the concept, though didn't quite stick the landing. Did cry at X & Namping's story even if it was overdramatic and the relationship didn't actually make sense for the dramatics given they knew each other for what? A month? Sian & Blue storyline was the best even with that weird art contest plotline.

Affair the Series - started off great with a messy co-dependent friendship. Didn't quite maintain my attention by the end of it. Also, for a show called Affair - there wasn't much of an affair going on - Wan and Ek were already separated (even if Ek was in denial about it). I wanted more messiness, like Wan still living with Ek and hiding the fact that she's with Pleng etc etc. Sigh. Whateves. The two actors have good chemistry.

The Trainee - Cute at places, but that ending? Why? Also would have preferred if Ba-mhee and Tae did not end up together. Ba-mhee and Judy weren't right for each other either but the concept of not ending up with someone is also a thing, hello??? Appreciated the little facts about a commercial production house.

The Secret of Us - had some good moments, but Earn annoyed me so much. So many stupid tears from that woman. I especially hated it when she was crying to Susi to get out of trouble. It felt so much like white woman tears especially considering the power dynamics and Susi being a trans woman. (in contrast TLDHLB had Wan's agent - another trans woman - rightfully storm away from Wan when he was being an asshole which is what I wanted Susi to do). Also, Earn never actually apologized to Fahlada for what she said in the past which irked me. Like she said horrible shit (even if she didn't mean it) and then in the present jumped right into trying to win Fahlada back and seemed oblivious as to why Fahlada wouldn't want to get back with her? Like read the fucking room. Anyways, best character on the show was Ingfa and she deserves her own show.

Wandee Goodday - Started good and was cute, but lost steam at the end and I lost most of my interest. Also they have Plakao and then don't really do anything with him :/ (guess I have to stick with Jdramas if I want well-rounded ace rep). A meh show.

Cooking Crush - DNF up to ep 11... it was cute at parts but never really spoke to me. Too cutesy for me maybe. The conflicts and things that happened to get characters to interact - like getting knocked out by a soccer ball of all things just made me roll my eyes.

23.5 - Had cute moments but was boring and the drama was annoying especially towards the end. Had to watch it on double speed to get through it.

Cherry Magic Thailand - Stopped watching at 4 episodes. May return to it, but I do not understand why it seems most prefer this version to the Japanese live action. It's way over-bloated with filler dialogue and the chemistry is not there imo.

Dead Friend Forever - middle episodes were good but it did not stick the landing. Way too many threads were left undone and the last episode was so rushed for no reason - like nothing happened in the previous 2-3 episodes before that. Show made me feel like I wasted my time watching and is a big reason I decided not to watch 4minutes (also can't care less about Bible so yeah lol)

Jack and Joker - disappointment of the year. What the fuck was that plot and still mad at Jennie's character's death.

Blank the Series - DNF. Forced myself to watch all of season 1 then asked myself why am I forcing myself. The younger of the main pair was sooooo annoying and I could not for the life of me understand what Neung saw in her.

Playboyy - Did not finish - got up to 12 episodes and realized they were going to make the abusive pairings end game so noped the fuck out. Read spoilers later on and yep that was what happened so glad I didn't continue watching.

Japan:

Koisenu Futari (Two People Who Can't Fall in Love) - Wait there's actually a show that portrays ace/aro people in an authentic manner and in such a positive light? And they're the main characters? What???? My heart was filled with such joy watching this show. Also, Takahashi is literally me and I love that he's a 40 year old man. Queer middle age people!!! And stuck the landing - like yes - ace/aro people can create family and relationships based on their terms not what society expects of them. You can be a family and live apart and be perfectly content ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! Okay I'm good.

Cherry Magic - so adorable!!! I'm totally fine with the fact they didn't show the kiss. It was all about the hands and the hugs and everything else. Also aro representation my beloved!!!

Ossan's Love Returns - so funny and heartfelt and love seeing middle-aged gays. Also has found family dynamics too which I love to see.

Old Fashion Cupcake - older men getting together woo!!! And with the older of the two being the one to discover his sexuality- love to see it! Short and sweet.

Perfect Propose - cute though the overworking was too real 😣😣😣

Love is a Poison - Fun! Wish this show was longer so it had time to let the relationship breathe and maybe delve into some more messed up shit, but for the time constraints they have, this show did a really good job.

Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko - DNF after 2 episodes. This one was not for me. Didn't find it funny and leaned more towards cringy for me and then read spoilers that made me not want to continue watching so I didn't.

Korean:

Love in The Big City - beautiful. Absolutely beautiful show.

The Devil Judge - Some good fucking food. Such a smart well thought out plot and incredibly developed characters. Sunah the villain that you are 😍and of course Yohan and Gaon and their spiral of betrayal and devotion. Found family too!! Like so many beautiful, filling, morsels to gorge oneself on with this show.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo - So wholesome and fun! Last few episodes kind of tapered off but overall enjoyed this a lot. Also, made me think about some of the stuff I do and how Young Woo does them and well... hmmm... (also the fact that Young Woo was able to set boundaries for hand holding - wish younger me knew to do that, might have saved me a few tears back in the day lolll)

Let Free The Curse of Taekwondo - a solid show. I read some weird spoilers which skewed my idea of what the show would be and it ended up not being that so was a bit confused watching it but upon reflection the show does what it sets out to do and has the right emotional beats. Some plot threads are not the most neatly resolved but overall a good watch.

China:

Meet You At The Blossom - Another fun show! Xiobao has like sub zero braincells but he gets what he wants at the end so he's doing something right!

Hey I just wanted to leave a comment to say how much I love your writing once again. Especially in the last 2 chapters of Chrysalis; there's just so much to love...

For starters although Rachel isnt as strong as Bridget or Liz shes not 100% weak either; meek yes but she does what she needs to survive like the rest of your protagonists in your other stories and she aint dumb, being smart enough not to follow Val's offer in Chapter1, keeping her mouth shut around him when necessary and not signing with him in the last chapters. And Im really curious to see where her story is headed as making a deal with the Vees in itself was a bad move (but lets be real they wouldn't leave her alone otherwise as they might have other tricks under their sleeve like intimidation or making it seem like its the only way out and Im terrified of what Velvette might do), signing with Vox was indeed a nicer move than signing with Val.

And it was great getting to know more about Brodie's psyque and view on things and you cant help kinda pity him in the sense he doesn't know any better as his parents were enablers for his bad behavior ever since he was young. And Im kinda hoping karma comes for him eventually and also afraid of the fire that's gonna be the next morning in the office when Rachel decides to quit, that is if Val doesn't send bodyguards to tell the news.

And again I love the variety of people you got in your stories; where you got nicer and less nice people as seen with Sinners like Saibon who's a decent guy around his co-stars and made sure Rachel got what she was owed when Marlo and Zack took advantage of her but at the same time he needs to worry about himself too which is why he wont risk his after life saving her ass; plus hes married so he needs to be a lil selfish in order to protect those he loves and Brodie who's a dickbag in more ways than one and im hoping his ass gets what's coming to him for treating everyone around them, specially Rachel, like shit due to his entitlement. And Hellborn like Tisha on the wrong side of people as she's very competitive for male's attention and will do scummy things to get it or bring those she sees as "rivals" (even if they're actually victims of harassment) down like we saw deleting Rachel's work and later on taking a picture of her and send it to the office mail with the intention of causing a ruckus and make her life harder out of jelaousy (although it makes me wonder how many know how the Vees actually operate or just view them as celebreties) but we also got Grix who reassures Rachel her boss is just being a dick and sends part of his money to his family on Wrath and Valerie who's on Rachel's side since the rumor began and defends her and gives her some survival tips as she cant stop what Rachel's going through thanks to Brodie and she's one if the few persons in the office that doesn't think less of her and is actually nice as evidenced by their talk in the bathroom. (Maybe she'll be the one to understand that if she's with Val its certainly not for good reasons, judging by her character)

As for the Vees, although the series shows them with a more humerous side They're still bad guys at the end of the day and I love how you managed to keep that in the story; Val being a creep, slightly stalking Rachel on her first 3 days in Hell, sending his bodyguards to get her despite her telling him no and the whole scene with him in V tower where he roofied her and licked her back like he did Charlie's arm in ep 4 and proceeded to have sex with her even if ahe was drugged thanks to the love potion which is why we dont hear her say no during it and her body is simply reacting to the pleasure intercourse brings but Val is more focused on his pleasure during it and doesn't care if he's a lil rough with her to the point she cries in pain. That and there's the fact he forced her to go to a place she was new to, wear a dress that made her uncomfortable and do a line with him and Ashley. And when she said no, he was almost about to tear her apart if it wasn't for Vox being there. Also I liked him messing with Brodie, feels very in character and reminded me of when he has goofy moments like that with him adding glitter to his gun in ep 2 and him pouting like a child wanting to do violent things to whoever offended him.

And Vox is once again the lesser of two evils but evil at the end of the day as he's the one that gets Rachel to sign by guilttripping her into thinking she's highly valuable to them. And I also love the detail that both have different mysoginist views, with Val thinking like Brodie Rachel should be thankfull they spent attention and time with her when in reality both forced her to do stuff like Brodie spanking her and harassing her and threatening to make it worse for her at work if she doesn't comply with his dehumanizing and embarrasing demands and Val gave her something spiked and banged her while high and later on pressures her into doing a line of coke whereas Vox has this Whore and Madonna complex dividing women into fuck girls or married girls and although not as cruel as Val he gives her a non consensual kiss and makes her say she belongs to him twice out of self pleasure.

With Brodie's background, I wanted to show how doting mothers can give their son's a bad first impression of women. Brodie grew up with a terrible attitude towards women because his mother never bothered to discipline or teach him respect. HIs father wasn't around to correct his behavior either so now we got Brodie as he is now.

Rachel is a vulnerable and realizes it which makes her smart and able to protect herself when she can.
