OK, so let's make it LESS confusing, and use Czajkowski for the guy (I know he used that Tch... spelling in his life, but I'm guessing that was mostly for easier pronunciation).

To add some detail to the character of him - Andrzej, before leaving Poland, was planning to get married (yea, I know he was gay...). The lady in question was his classmate and friend from University of Music in Warsaw. However, she was afraid of emigrating and stayed back in Poland. He had a career, she got married and had a daughter. They kept writing letters though, which she put together in a book titled "My Guardian Demon". If you want to know more about the guy, look the book up.
