Cheers, Black Clover friends! I missed you all and have been (temporarily) revived to give a home to a very old WIP of mine I had completely forgotten about until I just stumbled upon it & decided it should have a permanent home.

It was my first (and only) time to write a story with a Clover Kingdom royalty-centric plotline and (I think) the only time I wrote in Nozel's perspective or wrote Mereoleona and Fuegoleon (& the other royals) into a fic. I can't guarantee I did them justice, but I thought it deserved to be posted somewhere all the same, if only for the silly Black Bulls' shenanigans.

If there is an interest, maybe I will continue with it someday, but for now, I wanted to give the first 5 chapters a nice home. It's in kind of rough shape, but I had a good laugh reading the WIP (I amuse myself lol 😅😂) and hoped someone else might find some enjoyment in it too.

Aiyla had been right in so many things before and just like that he couldn’t help to acknowledge the fact that she was simply much better in handling emotions and wording them than he would probably ever be. Another thing he adored her for. Yes, he could be caring and attentive and of course there were these moments of affection he was able to give her even when others watched them. The little squeeze he gave to her hand. The bare touch of her back when he had the urge to shield her. The smiles when nobody was watching, but all of that never changed the constant lingering fear in him to bring her into danger and that couldn’t be right.

Rick had become someone else during his time of the apocalypse. He wasn’t the sweet and innocent husband anymore. The father that was always making funny (or according to Carl not so funny) jokes with that cheeky smile and innocent glares down when something felt embarrassing. There had been times where he didn���t recognize himself anymore. Where he avoided the mirror when he passed it cause he simply didn’t know if he was still a man or a monster himself. How could he ever burden someone with his presence if it wasn’t about leadership alone? When would he stop finding blood on his hands and remains of it on his face? He couldn’t expect her to live with that, could he?

Rick could lead a group. He could protect his people no matter how much he had to endure. But one thing he didn’t have to face anymore was the painful thought of losing another lover. Of someone who he wanted to spend his life with when it was ripped apart from them in front of his eyes and he wasn’t sure if he was ever able to go through that again. “Aiyla.” With a sigh he closed his eyes under her remaining touch and brought his own palm above hers to lead it to his face where he tried to force a smile when he kissed the back of it.

“It is not that I don’t want this. It’s not that I don’t feel the same. For what it’s worth I think about what you mean to me whenever I open my eyes and close them for the night. But don’t you see that…” She knew. Of course she knew that he must be scared, it was obvious, wasn’t it? Maybe just as obvious as his feelings for some of the closest members of this family they built. They surely saw the lingering glares on her. The way he looked after her when she left a room. And every time someone noticed, he didn’t know how to react besides running away from the truth. He was scared. He was weak. A coward. And he hated every part of it cause how was he supposed to be a leader like this? When his focus was resting on this one person who he simply couldn’t lose anymore?

“Even now I cannot lose you. Even now it eats me up alive to imagine a world where you’re not in it.” And it showed through his trembling hands that now reached for her face with his broken smile that hurt on his skin. “I know that you deserve this, but I can’t tell you what you probably want to hear. I need more time.” Again his head sank in shame when he let go of her cheek, but it didn’t help him to not take her fingers lightly in his own while he spoke with his forehead nearly resting against hers. “I don’t know if happiness is something this world is willing to offer. And I’m not sure I dare to take it as it is. But I want to. I really want to.”

After inhaling deeply he dared to finally look at her again, fingertips still brushing against hers. “You’re not on my sideline though. Can you believe me that? This is not about you, it’s just something I have to evaluate for myself to keep everyone safe. I can’t just run off with you simply because it feels nice or because I urge for it. In another world or another time I could follow my heart, but here I simply can’t. So please… can you give me that time?”

Lord Stark wasn’t unfamiliar with busy days, the type that consumed all of his attention and energy to only leave him exhausted. The endless amount of problems that seemed to grow with each passing hour, it was a tiring feat that he handled with ease.

His duty to his House and the North was admirable, you often find yourself marvelling at how much care he has for every single minute detail that most seemed to not notice. However, his duty to you was tenfold this… perhaps that is why Cregan decided to end his day earlier than usual.

Making the eager escape back to your shared bedchambers, just the thought of you turns him into a ball of giddiness, hidden behind the rugged nature that exudes him.

He forces himself to slow his movements down as he spots you, curled up in the middle of the bed, against the furs in your cotton nightgown. He silently curses the creaky, heavy, door of your bedchambers, the groan it lets out as he closes it shut causes you to gently stir from your sleep.

“Sorry, my dear.” He whispers brows pinched together as he takes off the furs that drape over his shoulders. “I didn’t mean to wake you.”

You shake your head in weak protest to his words, rubbing your eyes with a smile at the feeling of him sitting down on the edge of the bed. He admires you for a moment, how the warm fireplace casts an orangey light over your body, painting you like some sort of goddess.

“Hmm, that didn't last too long, did it?” He asks, looking down at you with adoration, his chest blooming with warmth as you nuzzle yourself against the roughness of his hand.

“No… but I did try.” You promise, making space for him as he shuffles closer to you, drawing your body to rest against him.

Cregan props himself up on his elbow, looking down at you with a tenderness in his eyes that completely melts you. He watches as you curl up against him whilst he brings the furs over your shoulders to protect you from the harsh winds that continue to howl through the castle.

"I appreciate the effort, my love, but you needn't tire yourself out waiting for me." He responds in a low and soothing tone, leaning down to press a soft kiss against your forehead.

"You know I would never want you to lose sleep on my account." Cregan continues, letting his lips linger against your forehead. His hand comes to rest against your hip, caressing the curve and dip of your waist.

He has always been so sweet to you, putting you before anything else and never once letting you doubt your place in his heart. It was a shock, especially after the rumours you had heard about him when in reality he was a huge softie... at least to you he is.

A moment of silence passes and he thinks you might’ve fallen back asleep, that is until you’re pulling him back down to steal a sweet kiss, which he is quick to deepen. He hums in contentment against your lips at the feeling of your fingers brushing through his hair.

“I’ve missed you today.” You whisper against his lips, the kiss tapering off into small loving pecks.

He grins, caressing your cheek as he pulls back slightly to look down at you. “Well… I’m right here now and I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.” He replies, his thumb trailing along your bottom lip as he holds your face before capturing your lips once more.

The bustling city roared with excitement— the mix of music and chatters filled the lively streets. Within that, two friends were walking amongst the crowd when they suddenly spotted one particular driver that was walking at the side with a girl?

With nerves that fueled both their curiosity and joy, they slowly approached the couple with smiles that stretched across their faces.

One of them lightly tapping Oscar’s shoulder making the couple turn around to completely face the two. “Uhm hi, me and my friend saw you guys and were wondering to get a picture?”she spoke, some of her words came out stuttered.

Before answering, Oscar looked back at you— his eyes curling into questionable ones,”Is that alright with you my love?” He asked, his tone soft and gentle. Like he always have with you.

“Yeah baby it’s fine” you muttered, your voice barely audible, but was loud enough for him to hear.

Oscar knew how anxious and shy you get whenever there are others; it was a habit you developed when you were small that came with you throughout adulthood. Luckily you met a guy who was willingly patient for you to open up.

And you were forever grateful for that.

The two friends looked at awe at their relationship, their eyes shined with adoration, but their minds still processing the new found information.

It was never said or announced that Oscar had a girlfriend— she was also rarely seen in both the media and the paddock. So they were shock to see a girl that nestled close to his embrace.

Oscar coughed, getting the attention of the two, he smiled at them and answered back politely, “yeah sure, we can take a picture.”

The two girls squealed with happiness as they put out their phone and took one or two shots of pictures.

After that, the friends thanked them both and let them to enjoy the lively city.

The combination of protective and playful fits him perfectly imo, omg! Talking about how he feels though, it pains me to see how much he must have suffered ;-; he keeps asking himself if he's unworthy of A.rceus's attention since it favored the MC instead of him, despite everything he's done to even be acknowledged by it ;-;

Also, him asking us if we have dreams like he does literally makes my heart ache ;-; ;-; (and it reminded me of N. as well ;-;)

In general, I think he perceives himself as a very lonely individual, and it gets worse since nobody even goes to look for him after the final battle (I'd do it myself if the game just let me, aksbdejsbsn) and pretty much everyone simply accepts that he was the villain and moves on ;-;

His loneliness got me thinking nonetheless. Despite him being able to hide it behind his usual happy-go-lucky attitude, some of it could still come through. For example, he could enjoy our company a lot more than it seems, and with vore it'd work the same way since a pred is technically not alone after nomming somebody. So he could also rub his middle and take in all the positive feelings that come with eating a close person in safety x3 ❤️

To be honest, I wish we could say goodbye to him before he leaves, or at least see him tell professor L.aventon what happened, oof ;-; we saw him from a brief moment tho in the second H.isuian Snow episode! That gives me a lil bit of hope xDD

Dukedom au masterlist

Price clenched his jaw, his grip tightening on his glass of brandy as he tried- tried- not to let the Crown Prince’s laugh, so carefree and loud, set his teeth further on edge. The Prince’s hand had lingered far too long against the small of your back when he guided you through the ballroom earlier. And now? Now, Price had to sit back and watch as the Prince leaned far too close, his eyes dancing with mischief as he whispered something that had you giggling behind your gloved hand.

“Does he always look at her like that?” Simon’s voice was low, but the tension was evident, nearly vibrating out of him. He stood beside Price, posture rigid, hands clasped behind his back as if that might keep him from marching over and physically removing the man from your side.

“He’s always been like this with her,” John grunted, taking a sip of his drink. It didn’t help ease the sharp taste of bitterness on his tongue. “Childhood friends, they are. Grew up together in the capital.”

“Friends.” Simon scoffed, his eyes following the Prince’s every movement as he twirled you around on the dance floor, his grip firm but tender on your waist. “He’s in love with her. Anyone can see that.”

“Don’t you think I already know that?” John growled under his breath.

You laughed again, your head tilting back, and the sound carried through the grand hall like music. It wasn’t that John and Simon weren’t used to your laughter- it was the way the Prince seemed to be the one causing it, soaking in every moment as if it were his lifeline.

“Can’t do a bloody thing about it either, not in public,” Simon muttered darkly.

They both knew it. The Crown Prince was untouchable, politically and socially. They couldn’t just step in without causing offense or worse- humiliating you.

So instead, they forced themselves to endure it. Forced themselves to wear the kind of smiles that barely reached their eyes when you and the Prince eventually approached, your grin widened with exertion from the dancing.

“My dukes,” the Prince greeted, eyes gleaming. “I hope you don’t mind that I stole your lovely Duchess for a few dances. She’s quite the partner- though I’m sure you already knew that.”

Price smiled. It was tight, controlled. “We’re honored by your attention, Your Highness.”

Simon, however, simply gave a low hum, eyes never leaving the Prince’s hand as it trailed lightly down your arm before he finally let go.

Neither of them could do more than stand there as the Prince leaned in to kiss the back of your hand before excusing himself, promising another dance later in the evening.

The second he was gone, however, Simon leaned down to whisper in your ear. “You’re dancing with me next.”

And John? John was already mentally drafting plans to ensure the Prince’s next visit would be delayed indefinitely.

The Price Duchy was alive with movement and excitement during the Crown Prince’s unexpected visit. Servants bustled, maids rushed to prepare the best rooms, and Kyle and Johnny… well, Kyle and Johnny were trying their damned hardest not to glare daggers at the man who seemed to think it was his home.

“God, look at him.” Johnny hissed as they stood just outside the parlor doors, peeking in through the gap to where the Prince sat beside you. He was leaning in, speaking softly enough that Johnny couldn’t make out the words, but he could see the way your eyes flitted about, bashful and happy.

“He’s too close.” Kyle muttered, his grip tightening around the tray he held.

Your hand rested lightly on the Prince’s arm, your expression warm and relaxed as you laughed at something he said. It wasn’t fair how easy it was for him to make you laugh.

“He’s enjoying this too much,” Johnny said, voice dark and low. “Thinks he can just waltz in here and take all her attention?”

Kyle gave him a side glance. “Don’t let the Duke hear you say that. He’s already half-ready to call off trade agreements if it’d mean keeping him away.”

The Prince leaned closer again, face soft and hands gentle for you, and Johnny had to bite down a curse.

They weren’t allowed to do anything about it- not when it was the bloody Prince himself. But they could fix it.

That evening, they wasted no time executing their plan.

Kyle practically hovered as you settled into the sitting room with your embroidery, immediately offering to fetch you tea and desserts- all your favorites. Johnny sat himself down beside you, offering to entertain you with far better stories than that Prince could ever hope to know.

When you smiled, they felt victorious.

When you sighed in delight over the sweets and laughed over Johnny’s tales, they felt invincible.

Neither mentioned the Prince at all, and neither gave you any opportunity to dwell on his visit. Instead, they drowned you in their attention, making you laugh until your sides ached, ensuring your mind was too full of their affections to even think about whatever flirty nonsense the Prince had whispered earlier.

By the end of the night, when they escorted you to your chambers and bid you goodnight with lingering touches to your hands and cheeks, both Kyle and Johnny felt a smug sense of satisfaction.

Because you were theirs, and no prince- no matter how charming or influential- would ever change that.
