the filler before the letter in lfmb is important for fernando bc it cements how he feels about her. core of it is that he likes spending time with her, he wants to spend time with her. after the commercial shoot is over he wants to spend even more time with her. he wants a do-over date at his house again. he gives his employees two days off so that lety can go to germany with him and not worry about anything. he whisks her away for the weekend unprompted. these are all things he did out of his own free will and desire.
however for lety, the letter really fucks her up in a way that it doesn't in the original. bc the pacing in the original is so fast--bc armando falls in love with betty so fast, he doesn't have time to get his emotions in order. he doesn't have time to truly enjoy being with her the way he wants to be before she finds out the truth. betty doesn't have romantic filler to confuse her bc there's nothing on armando's side to prove or question his previous actions. but lety? she's angry, hurt and confused. everytime fernando is begging for her affections back, there's always a moment where lety's on the verge of believing him until omar's words replay in her head.
