the thing about applying for a job at my company again is like. they could definitely lay me off again. they haven't been doing well since before i was working there. retail as an industry is going down and yelling timber. but if i get hired by the end of march, then i'll be considered to have been "transferred" instead of laid off and re-hired, so if they lay me off again i'll get severance again lmao

#i think everyone got severance but they broke it down into ppl who've been there <1 yr / 1-2yrs / 2-10 / 10+#the first bucket only got one month and the second bucket (me) got two months of severance #so if i got re-hired then laid off later this year i'd only get 1 month but if i'm considered transferred then i'd get 2 months #and if i get laid off after august 30th then i'd get 3 months bc i'd have 2+ yrs with the company #it's a kind of risky move but i'm nervous about getting a job at a new place and entering into a toxic work environment #i know the data scientists at the parent company and they've got a very similar attitude to my old team. and they have a work life balance #soooo idk even if this only kicks that “applying to brand new companies” can down the road for six months or a year that's fine #my grandmother and i are currently fighting and she's usually my sounding board for this stuff so i'm just gonna talk out loud here <3 #m.txt
