I'm a theologian, do you expect me to think about Thomas Barrow's relationship with God without thinking about the watchmaker analogy
#(it's an argument on behalf of intelligent design comparing organisms like humans or flowers to watches and clocks)#(and how if the latters have intelligent design behind them what does that tell you about the formers)#anyway. thinking about how clocks are living things.#some people steal dogs to cope#idk something about thomas maybe believing there is a god and that the god has made everyone#but him being unable to see things like his gayness as something that's against the said god's will#since it comes natural to him; it's part of his nature and his heart#part of what makes him ''tick''#and if there was a clockmaker who designed a clock that was functional but faulty in some fundamental level that would be a bad clockmaker#so idk. thomas has his own view of god and he doesn't believe god can be that bad of a clockmaker
