So the first thing I did upon hearing this was go try and dig up a description of the video--because I wanted! all that atmospheric music to be the prelude to her becoming a ferocious ghost who would murder faithless lovers the world over. Which, on one hand, does not seem to have been the case. But! on the other, I found this astonishing magnificence from NPR about the roots of keening and Irish grief culture more generally. So I now have two lengthy Irish death laments to peruse at my leisure; I'll call that a draw ;)
