Idk why the thought only just now occurred to me but I guess in the ever ambiguous definitions of what half-plate is in d&d I suppose landsknecht armor would probably fit pretty well for that
#they say as if the landsknecht weren't mercenaries and therefore their levels of armor varied with how much they were paid and/or stealing#still I feel there's a pretty specific mental image in mind that comes up when one thinks of them and idk I feel that'd count#I remember someone sent me an ask about that a while ago#and idk I don't feel like I gave a very good answer#but I can't find that post again rip#so anon if you're reading this those funny guys are probably an alright reference point#from a purely armor standpoint the poofy pants and bright colors are optional lmao#war crimes and pillaging cities you're hired to protect are also optional but the landsknecht were very opt-in for everything mentioned her#lmao#Pun's text Posts
