ok y'all this is probably unrealistic but I'm on the 9th chapter out of 37 in draft 2 edits and my goal is to be ready for beta readers by.... january which is going to require some intense focus but MAYBE i can do it....................... this is going to be my accountability thread:

Status: 8/37 done

The chapter I'm on currently is going to be a page one rewrite. It's one of only two chapters in the whole book that needs this, so getting past it will be a bit of a milestone. Wish me luck.

#It's an Irina chapter lol #so far my goals in reducing the word count are going.#poorly #I've cut about 2k words out of about 20k words that need to be cut in total #so I'm 21% thru the book overall but have only made 10% of the cuts I need #which is annoying bc it's the front half of the book that needs the most trimming! I got very efficient towards the end!#and I'll see something I can cut and I'll be like oh good! perf! that's a big section! that should do it!#and then it'll turn out that the actual change is less than a hundred words 💀
