I'm still building a lot of the whumpers for daffodil! generally though it's sir/ma'am or mr/ms/mrs/mx. the gender neutral version of sir/ma'am is just sir again, they do the gendered language thing where the masc option is the default. there's actually a wip whumper who is a woman and depending on how her design will turn out might just prefer to be referred to as sir for the vibes but idk yet

to summarize: a polite honourific for a daffodil staff member is the standard

okay time for walenty!! yes walenty is primarily a whumpee, but they're a humanized lw whumpee so they have honourifics used for them sometimes! so they do whumping and get called sir sometimes. mostly by people they're torturing.

so they're typically just called their name by others, might have a mx added before it if it's an especially formal situation or the one calling them that just does that with people. being called "child" is rare for them nowadays, "little one" and "kid" are titles of the past.

the main demographic that refers to them as "sir" is prisoners. this used to catch them off guard since they would have never been in a position of power before this, but they understand why it's done so they quickly recover

after walenty graduates, I can see them being called daffodil or mx. daffodil which is. dude do you KNOW how many orphans have that surname... responsive to it and doesn't correct anyone regardless. don't tell anyone but they prefer mx. walenty

this is also the time when they'd be called sir by their subordinates. wow. they did not expect to actually live to see themselves have subordinates! catches them off guard every time, then they just continue

paris - shamelessly enjoys the “your highness” thing. dislikes “sir” but doesnt correct it. hates when delta specifically calls him by name because for a second it humanizes him and that feels Bad

martino - expects delta to address him with “sir”. but he expects delta to use honorifics with everyone, so that’s not a personal preference. most of his med students just call him “professor”.

simon - prefers to be called by name! and dislikes when delta calls him “sir” because it usually means that he’s freezing him out haha

i love this question because i feel like its so telling about how much of an asshole your whumper is and the way they view themself.
