In coming silly question: How gender is Elias? Would he wear a dress casually? A skirt?

Gender for Elias is "yes", but also "no", as well as "Sure", and sometimes "Don't worry about it" (his own words, not mine) It isn't really much of something he thinks about. He's comfortable and uses he/him, but it feels wrong to say he skews masculine at the same time. He dresses according to taste, practicality and comfort when out of uniform, but if someone handed him a dress/skirt he'd wear it at least partially out of the usual curiosity for trying on something new, and partially out of an enjoyment for dressing up that he never quite grew out of. They aren't quite his style, but that's more only down to the reasoning of preferring pants than it is for any reason of gender "norms" when it comes to clothing.

just as a note, i haven't seen my little pony since i was like. 11. and also i don't think i watched beyond twilight becoming an alicorn. my knowledge of later seasons mostly comes from horsecomix. so if i say anything that contradicts the Horse Lore, sorry about that.

ok now for individual designs.

yuma is a unicorn, mostly because mystery labyrinths require him to be able to hold a sword and talk at the same time. in addition to his memories, he lost his cutie mark in the pact, so everyone who sees him is like "damn you're an amnesiac AND a blank flank? pick a struggle". he doesn't have any accessories by default, but he probably gets a little hat in the rain + his cape in the mystery labyrinth. he was the first pony i drew, so his face looks a little janky. i struggled with drawing the ponies from any angle other than a perfect sideview, and the snouts/mouths were the hardest parts by far. the front view i did for yuma was a bit easier than the 3/4 view i did for most of the cast, but it was still tougher than i expected. pony artists who mimic the style of the show have all of my respect.

shinigami's spirit form was changed a little bit, although it was already so abstracted compared to a real human that i didn't feel i needed to change much in order to make her fit into the pony universe. i just swapped her horns out for wings and gave her a horn. i also removed her thumbs and made her colors closer to her human (er, pony) form. she's no longer a "death god" in the traditional sense, now being the "princess of death" in the same way twilight is the princess of friendship or cadence is the princess of love. she was sealed away because she was shit at her job (just killed a fuckton of people for no reason) but anypony who stumbled across the book she was sealed in can make a contract w her just like in rain code canon. obvi this is a little dark for the actual mlp universe, they wouldn't be putting a trigger-happy murder princess in their rated y cartoon, but this is the same fanbase that made fuckin. cupcakes and rainbow factory and a whole slew of others that make the main characters of mlp infinitely more fucked up than canon shinigami ever was. so i feel like we can have a little suspension of disbelief here.

shinigami's true form is an alicorn, obvi. she's a god princess, she's gonna be an alicorn. i tried to refrain from giving the characters too many accessories to better mimic the simpler mane 6 designs, but shinigami looked so naked with just the crown. so she also got her flower and little necklace. i didn't even attempt to put her hair in braids, since drawing her face at that angle was such a challenge already. upon posting this, i also realize i forgot to give her a tail. just imagine any tail you want on her. pin the tail on the shinigami. her cutie mark has the same dark void effect as nightmare moon's, although i can't remember if luna also has it as well. regardless, it's a visual tie-in to nightmare moon, who has a similar "princess banished to an inanimate object" thing going on. the actual cutie mark itself is two bones, representing death in a cutesy cartoony fashion. i was gonna do a skull and crossbones but then i realized. no one knows what a human skull looks like. there's no people. and i am NOT about to draw a fucking horse skull. so, bones it is.

yakou is probably the one i'm proudest of! i feel like i really captured the essence of the background pony in him. i feel like i could see him hanging out with lyra heartstrings and dr. whooves and i wouldn't bat an eyelash. his hair is a little longer than in the original design but i think it looks cute so it's fine. his cutie mark is an umbrella because his calling as a detective leads him to protect others like an umbrella protects you from the rain, plus kanai ward has its whole Thing. and he can be kind of a gloomy person at times, very pessimistic. he's an earth pony because he's just a normal guy, no forte in canon and stuff like that.

makoto was probably the trickiest to actually design. the element of mystery is super important in the original character design, but he was able to still have some skin exposed since almost all of the character designs in that game have a skintone of "homestuck white". in mlp, where coat colors can be any color of the rainbow (and the colors outside of the rainbow), makoto would lose that element of mystery. so, while i generally try to avoid putting the ponies in clothes, makoto kind of needed them. he's got his full suit and a set of gloves and white shoes for his hooves. instead of being a sort of "paper plate" mask, he's got a rubber halloween mask that extends past his neck instead. don't ask how the mane comes out of the mask. we don't ask how canon makoto's mask stays on with no straps, so don't ask about this one. the mask goes over his horn, so it blocks out most powerful magic, but basic spells like levitation are still possible with a bit of effort. the pants of his suit hide his cutie mark, and when asked about what it is, he gives a different answer each time.

kurumi isn't a super complicated or in-depth design. just a cute lil earth pony with a cutie mark of a speech bubble, since she does a lot of information gathering via talking to others. in hindsight, i should've given her freckles in the same color as her body outline. imagine she has freckles please. thank you.

fubuki is the design where i actually got the courage to attempt a braid. no idea if it looks good, i didn't use a reference and my hair is too short to braid it myself. i wanted an earth pony in the core group of nda members, and i was sort of torn between her and desuhiko. however, i'm a personal believer in the "all ponies can use magic on some level" theory, and that theory posits that earth ponies have a tendency to be able to use the intrinsic magic of their planet in subtle ways. applejack can enhance her physical strength without really doing anything consciously, and most importantly, pinkie pie can bend the laws of reality for The Bit. i think time travel is kinda like bending the laws of reality for The Bit. plus, desuhiko's disguise ability is kinda like an illusion, which feels like more of a unicorn ability. her cutie mark is a clock. because. uh. you know.

desuhiko is a unicorn for reasons i mentioned in fubuki's notes. his backpack is worn like a saddle, but he can still use it to disguise himself like in rain code canon. his cutie mark is the bag with a star on it, hinting that there's a superstar (him) in the bag. not much to say about him other than that.

vivia is a pegasus. since his forte allows him to fly, it makes sense for him to be able to fly in his base form as well - he'd get used to the flight powers inherent to his ability a lot quicker if he could already do it. he's definitely more of a fluttershy than a rainbow dash in terms of how he uses his ability to fly. he prefers to walk, but if his legs get tired, he'll switch to flying for a little bit. but then both his legs and his wings get tired and he takes a little nap. that's what the pose is meant to be, altho it does look a bit like he's flying. his cutie mark is a disappearing flash shape, as his spirit form is invisible and he tends to disappear into the background in general. someone in the rain coat server told me he looks like stoney pony and i haven't been able to get that out of my mind.

halara was the last pony i drew, because i love them and wanted to get as much pony-drawing experience as i could before turning them into an equine. can't have my pookie bear looking like shit! they are also a pegasus, but not for forte reasons like vivia. rather, they just do impressive feats of athleticism on the reg, and i feel like they would be a great flyer as a result. imagine the scene where yuma calls for help while being detained by seth and the peacekeepers. a blue and purple bursts onto the scene from the fucking clouds and halara is divebombing the peacekeepers. that'd be sick as fuck. their cutie mark is an eye, because postcognition is all about sight.

The short of it: Lyra is paired with all the LIs of The Arcana. It’s just split into twelve different timelines. For the sake of readability/not wanting to put readers through thorough essays about each and every bit of said timelines, I’ll do my best to condense each bit into small paragraphs.

Asra—

Overall/In Other Routes: Lyra sees Asra as one of her closest, dearest friends. She’ll always find ways to keep in touch: be it keeping consistent correspondence while out of Vesuvia to finding time in her busy schedule to meet up with them. In Muriel’s route, Asra even officiates the wedding! There is, however, one timeline where their friendship is strained to its limit . . .

Upright (TOR: Compass Rose): He’s been there since the beginning of it all. Even if she can’t remember six of the nine years she’s actually known Asra, she wants nothing more than to make new memories with him. Be it in Vesuvia or some far-flung place on the continent over, she’s always found a home wherever Asra is.

Reversed (TOR: Songbird): Asra’s everything to her. He’s everything she’s ever known. He's also the only thing that she remembers.

Nadia—

Overall/In Other Routes: Depending whether Lyra’s in an Upright or Reversed timeline, Lyra can be anywhere between having the utmost of respect for the Countess, to being totally neutral/indifferent. As a woman in her position, Nadia has a lot of responsibilities; Lyra doesn’t envy her in the slightest. If they’re friends, Lyra’s a visitor that Nadia looks forward to see. If they’re estranged or on hostile/unfriendly terms, at best it is awkward. At worst, it’s bitter and angry.

Upright (TOR: Emerald): Initially, Lyra only knew her as the widowed Countess. As she learned more about Nadia, she found a kindred spirit. While busy with their duties, they find each other—and their friends/loved ones—to lean on. The pair push each other to be better, and to do their best with whatever energies they have on a day to day basis.

Reversed (TOR: Ruby): With the new Devil being her significant other, Lyra’s found herself having many freedoms. Said freedoms, however, are at that the end of a very, very long leash. With the slightest sign of her Devil needing her presence, Lyra’s instantly transported back to the seat of Nadia’s throne. While free to do as she wishes, Lyra’s internal turmoil isn’t quelled in the least.

Julian—

Overall/In Other Routes: At best, she gets along with the fellow pun-loving doctor. At worst, interactions between the two of them can be either awkward or leave one or both of them completely and utterly exasperated. Julian isn’t the easiest person to be around, whether or not he does it intentionally. Lyra knows the man means well 89% of the time, but his flair for the dramatics makes her shake her head.

Upright (TOR: Voyager): Their relationship starts off not unlike a roller coaster. He’s wanted for murder, yet he doesn’t remember much from his time in the Red Plague. Lyra knows there’s more to the doctor than he lets on, especially when time and time again it seems like he’s a death seeker. After things are resolved, Lyra and Julian learn each other’s styles of affection. While Lyra is the more ‘serious’ of the pair, she’s not uptight to the point Julian’s shenanigans feel grating. Despite their very obvious differences, deep down beneath, they both care for the same things. They just go about it differently, especially when magic gets involved.

Reversed (TOR: Undertaker): They both have nightmares that feel endless. Both their bodies have changed, and they’re both doing their best to cope with it. Julian’s become something of a raven-based harpy, and Lyra’s shifting into a black sheep of sorts. Travelling together, Julian doesn’t pry much into what Lyra’s seen en route to finding him. It only comes up when Scout and Julian assist Lyra in sheering the excess amount of wool off of her skin and face. Despite it all, they’re together, and looking for their loved ones in their changed world. So long as they’re together, they can do anything.

Zephyr (Gojo x OC) - Chapter 5

Description (Mirae's POV) - Being a trainee and being cut right before debuting was hard. Then being set as the manager for the same group? A whole different thing that I wasn’t ready to take. I just don’t know if it’s good or bad? I guess the best thing I could do is do my job, support my friend and hope for the best.

A few weeks later, Satoru’s agency held an audition for soloists. Mirae would be started from the very beginning, by going through auditions. She kept on passing each round of auditions, until the last one. Mirae was cut, but this time she didn’t even make it to becoming a trainee. Their reason? She wasn't the person they were looking for.

An hour or so later, Mirae got a phone call from Satoru. She wasn’t in the mood to answer it, but ended up picking it up anyways. “Hey Mirae! How did the auditions go?”  He heard a small bitter chuckle. “I got rejected. It just makes me feel worse since you recommend me too. I didn’t want to let you down.” This shocked him. “It’s okay, you didn’t let me down. I guess your style of music wasn’t what they were looking for.” His words did comfort Mirae a bit, but she wasn’t going to give up yet. “I’ll release music independently then.” Satoru fully supported her. Mirae knew that it was going to be harder for her music to reach people without a label to promote her, but she was willing to take that risk. 

Over the next few weeks, Mirae bought a whole recording studio setup for her house. She made her office room the studio, since it was the best place to keep it in her house. Once it was all set up, Mirae called Shoko and Satoru to show them her studio. “So what do you guys think?” She asked. “It’s amazing! I can’t wait to hear the music you make!” Satoru complimented. Shoko agreed and asked if she could come over and hang out with her in the studio. “Me too!” Satoru added.  Mirae giggled, “I’ll invite you both. How does next Thursday sound? You guys both have Thursday’s off right.” They both nodded. “‘Kay, then it’s settled.”

A week and a half later, Mirae started making hwachae and dango as snacks for them. Once Mirae finished the dango, she started making hwachae. As she was cutting the watermelon, she heard the doorbell ring and went to open it. “Hey Mirae, how are you?” Satoru said as Mirae let him in. “You can place your stuff here. I’m just making a snack and drink for you guys.” She said as she headed back to the kitchen. “Let me help. Before you say no, think of this as a thank you for cooking me that meal.” Satoru said, while giving puppy eyes. Mirae knew that he wasn’t going to back down so she agreed. “Could you please start washing the other fruits on the counter? I’ll cut the watermelon.” Then. They both got to work. 

Once they finished making the hwachae, Mirae got a message from Shoko, saying that she’d be late and for the two of them to not wait for her. The two of them decided to use the equipment when she came so they instead looked at songs. “I actually have a song written for a terzet. (A/N: Terzet means a musical trio composed of singers) I was hoping to try it out with you guys.” She said. Satoru looked over the lyrics and agreed. Mirae and Satoru chatted for a bit before Shoko arrived. Mirae got her up to speed and once the three of them agreed, they got to work.

A few hours later, they were done. Mirae pressed the play button. The song sounded really good! Mirae and Satoru’s vocals flowed together really well, Shoko’s rapping and the instrumental pulled it all together. “We need to post this song like now!” Satoru said excitedly. “I wish we could, but you guys need to ask your agency.” Satoru pulled out his phone and started calling his manager. “Hi, Manager Ijichi, can we set up a meeting soon with “Lyra”’s agency, us and Mirae Chibana? We have a song that we would like to release. It’s a collaboration between me, Mirae and Shoko Ieiri.” He explained. Ijichi said he would do it and ended the call. “My agency will contact you guys.” Satoru said. The three decided to just hang out for a bit longer.

A few days later the meeting happened and they all agreed to release the song.

Magic Abilities:

Ecological Empathy - speaking with and encouraging plant life to flourish

Panic inducement - connected to a scream/bleat when in full satyr form, particularly if only heard or the form is partially seen, as it's rather monstrous. The scream itself is what induces panic, as the sound of it causes anxiety and overwhelm or panic attacks if the anxiety is bad enough because it's so sudden/loud. It Triggers something in other people that activates a flight response. It may last as little as a half hour or as long as an hour, possibly more if you've been exposed for an extended amount of time.

NOTE: The depiction of panic comes from the god Pan, who satyr are descendants of. A common satyr's scream is not as powerful, but if you're directly related to Pan (or believed to be, which I want to play around with with Angelo!) then you're deemed more ""dangerous."" NOTE 2: Satyr form, in full, is connected to the harvest time, rather than the full moon like a wolf. Thoughts while watching Part III of the Kenobi Series

Looking at the title card for the umpteenth time and wondering why tf they couldn't just have gone with Kenobi. Most people already call it that instead of his full name. Lesser chance for confusion, and sounds way better. Similar ring to Andor.

Was looking forward to seeing Obi-Wan resume his panic/anxiety attack and completely lose his shit. But I guess him calling out to his master for the millionth time also works.

But seriously, Qui-Gon you bitch where are you when your son needs you answer him FFS.

I really have to commend Ewan for his portrayal of Obi-Wan during this stage of his life. I know he's mentioned that he's had to relearn Obi-Wan's accent, and I can hear hints of his Scottish accent coming through, but something else still sounded off. It took me a while to figure out the way his whole inflection and tone had changed. This was a conscious choice on Ewan's part, since the Obi-Wan he's playing now is very different to the one he's played before. He's portraying a broken, dejected man, and it's reflected in the way he speaks and interacts with the world around him. He doesn't help the Jedi who sought him out, and is unwilling to help Bail. His attitude towards Leia borders on indifferent and in this episode he even snaps at her, saying not everyone is good. I mean sure she can be annoying and something of a know-it-all, but I don't think I could ever have imagined Obi-Wan snapping at a child during the prequel era. Gone are his easygoing smile, the somewhat dramatic cadence of his voice, and the sarcastic remarks. Goes to show just how much research and care has been put into the state the character is in at this point in time. A person's experience is truly what shapes them, and here we're fortunate enough to get a glimpse of who this man could be in much different circumstances, and just how much he can bend before he breaks.

Mapuzo is a nice planet. I like the aesthetic.

Leia's actress, Vivien Lyra Blair was likely only 8 years old during filming, and it doesn't help that she easily looks like she could be 6 at the youngest. Adorable and very talented though. I've seen some of her other work.

Leia stepping up to the role of caretaker, because really, this man needs some serious help.

I really debated over whether legendaries should dictate visions or starter/main pkmn should, and I’ve decided it’s up to the rule of cool lol. It’s a character by character basis xD

Originally Lyra had an Anemo vision and Silver had Pyro given by Lugia and Ho-oh, but I felt like with these two especially having their visions based off their starter Pokemon made the most sense? Since this game era focuses on having that strong relationship with your poke’s and Silver’s whole character arc is him coming to love his pkmn it seemed more right so I switched it last minute to be Pyro!Lyra and Hydro!Silver.

(Like I said above tho this au goes off the rule of cool so I’m thinking Dawn might have Cryo even tho no legendaries or starters would give her that but that’s beside the point rn ajdk)

ANYWAY some basic mechanics stuff for these two that is really basic bc I don’t think too much about game mechanics bc I mainly go off fav characters in Genshin rather then abilities aglhhs

First of all: Lyra was made to be Genshin-ified. Like she’s already pretty close to Amber clothes wise so it was just really fun to play around and give her that Genshin feel!! She could absolutely be given more small details like Genshin loves to do but,,, small details are my weakness amdjsj

Weapon: Sword or Catalyst, tho I’m leaning sword bc she gives me Bennett energy play style wise!!

Constellation: Cyndaquill

Play style: I’m thinking, again, Lyra is versatile like Bennett where she can be built for either support or DPS, but her skills lean more DPS the more constellations you unlock to kind of emulate her becoming champion. Jokingly rn her Q is to hit a pokeball esq pyro sphere with her sword like a baseball bat to cause AoE pyro damage, but that may or may not stay LMAO

Silver

Im not gonna lie. Silver was a pain.

and tbh I will probably change his design every time I draw it bc I am just. Not happy with it but also I have no idea what else to do ASJS his outfit is just so plain?? Like, wtf am I supposed to do with baggy pants and a jacket all the same color?? Lmao long story short I had the exact opposite experiencing designing silver then I did with Lyra lmao. Very in character xD

Weapon: Claymore, bc I feel like Silver wants to be a DPS Diluc so bad bc that’s like, the most powerful in his mind so ofc he’s gonna use a claymore to deal the most damage.

Constellation: Totodile

Play style: one things for sure: Silver is not Diluc, and at C0 he isn’t a good DPS at all and would actually be a good support or buff unit but he refuses to be bc that’s "weak" and he doesn’t travel with anyone so those abilities would be useless anyway lol. But as his constellation unlocks he DOES get better at DPS and his Q deals a lot of damage (bc it’s totodile line it’s gonna pack a punch) BUT it’s reliant on him buffing others with his E. I have no idea if that would actually work in game but story wise I like it a lot akdj

shit that made me giggle

everything K2 says and does. i love him and he’s perfect.

i love the continuous attempts by K2 to appear imperial and how he fails every time. not a single storm trooper or officer ever believes him when he starts running his mouth.

so sorry but bohdi getting his cable caught and trying to shake it loose is such an adorably human moment. makes me giggle every time.

i honestly thought this section would be longer, this movie made me laugh a bunch. 

stuff i don’t like or doesn’t make sense

why does jyn start believing in the rebellion? there’s no indication that she cared before they found her. there’s no real turning point that we can see. she just,,, suddenly is really into this shit. which is strange because the only reason she ever joined was because she was given a non-choice (either help or get put back in prison). i guess i can kinda see how her father dying could have changed her, but we see none of that on the ship after his death. we just get to the rebel council and all of a sudden she’s the poster girl for rebellion.

saw seems really stable at the beginning of the film, so why did he go seemingly crazy and paranoid? it’s probably explained in the novelization but that’s no excuse to just have a character go crazy with really no explanation or backstory.

that being said, a lot of the character development is pretty lacking. i don’t think i’d care about these characters nearly as much if i wasn’t already a star wars fan.

final note now that the movie is over. yes, it’s got a lot of issues. the plot is ehhh at times. the trailers don’t match up with the movie shots AT ALL (i wanna know what happened behind the scenes with that). the character development is lacking in many major ways (that has not stopped me from loving these characters though, but that’s the autism talking). but like i’ll say in the "stuff i liked" section, this is such a damn cool movie. i was once talking about it with an older friend of mine and he said seeing rogue one in theaters felt like watching the original trilogy in theaters back in the 70s and 80s and honestly that’s such a compliment. i love this movie, i really do.

DEATH TROOPERS

krennic is probably one of my favorite imperial officers. for some reason he just really sells it for me, the evil and manipulation that borderlines in try hard. and (i mention it more later because you see it more in the "choke on your aspirations" scene) beyond that just the fact that he’s?? a guy. just a dude. at any given moment he could be described as just hanging out. but he’s trying so hard (for whatever reason, we don’t know his evil motivations) to be this big bad evil dude. and it’s just interesting to see someone *trying* to be imperial and *trying* to be evil, as opposed to a tarkin-type character who’s just naturally an asshole.

i love the rogue one main theme. don’t even talk to me. it’s so cool.

it’s cool to see more about the birth of the death star, seeing other people learn about it. sort of realizing the fear and terror that everyone must have been experiencing. especially after being a star wars fan for so long and being like, yeah it’s the death star it’s just a staple of this universe. it reminds me that "oh god this was a planet killer and this was the first time something like that had ever even been heard of".

there’s gorgeous visuals in this movie.

i like the cool machine blaster that baze has. it’s awesome seeing different blaster styles when originally the only variation we really saw was chewie’s cross bow style blaster.

i really wanna see more of baze and cirruit. i wanna know what happened that made baze stop believing. i wanna know how they met. i wanna see them evolve and grow together.

i like that jyn argues that 16 is too young to be a solider (she’s 21 in the movie). i like that she’s mad that she’s young and has been put in a position to protect herself and then later save the galaxy. (for context: luke and leia were 19 in a new hope. anakin is 19 in attack of the clones, ~22 when he became darth vader, and rey is 19 in force awakens. stop putting the fate of the galaxy in the hands of people who are *barely* adults)

the testing of the death star is awesome. love seeing wicked cool space weapons. when it blocks out the sun? ominous as hell fuck yeah.

it’s interesting that baze says cassian doesn’t look like a killer, that "he has the face of a friend", when one of the first things we saw him do was kill a man. i think about that a lot. does that say more about baze’s ability to read people or does it say more about who cassian is deep down, beyond what he’s done to serve the rebellion?

cassian’s relationship with death and killing is very interesting. you could argue that cassian is just as brainwashed and deep in the rebellion as anyone imperial. i really hope it’s something that gets explored in his stand alone show. he mentions he’s lost everything and has been a rebel since he was 6. gimme cassian andor backstory.

"careful not to choke on your aspirations director" is probably some of the most dramatic-anakin-skywalker shit i’ve ever seen vader do

i like seeing rebel infighting. so often it seems there’s always general consensus about what the rebellion wants, but it’s good to see that they don’t always agree on how to rebel.

i love the consistent "found family" rebel alliance shit in these movies. it makes my dick so hard.

i loved hearing the troopers doing their dumb small talk about the T-15s on the beach.

i think ben mendelssohn is perfect for the role of krennic, no notes there. he’s just like?? a guy and he’s doing everything he can to fit into this evil role and he just wants to be like this big bad imperial boy on campus. i don’t know. i don’t have the words right now to express how fuckin awesome he is. i’ll write an essay about it later.

i think a whole lot about jyn giving K2 a blaster. the way he takes it and looks at it and holds it so gently. i think that’s the first time a human has trusted him with a blaster since his reprogramming. he seems so appreciative of that trust.

i love seeing the faces of baze and the other rebels when a few of the x-wings show up and take down an at-at. i’m so very soft for the relationship between these rebels. not to be cliche, but the *hope* that they have. it’s so moving. this movie is just so full of that quintessential rebel feeling.

hey so i’m super emotional about the death of K2 okay? because in the novelizations you learn that in the last second k2 had before a full shut down, he ran a simulation where cassian lived and even though he knew it was impossible, it made him happy. FURTHERMORE K2 is very well known and his name is often listed along side jyn’s in terms of talking about the history of the rebellion.

chirrut and baze’s deaths are so important to me. we know they’re best friends, and even though we don’t know how long they’ve been together, they love each other so deeply. chirrut being the path for baze to return to the force? touching. i so wish these dumb force husbands could have had more screen time. baze calling chirrut back?? chirrut telling him to find him in the force?? baze looking to see the man he loves one more time before he dies??reminds me of the silken quote about dying in your best friends arms because it’s all you know. anywho,,, if star wars canon has any mercy then these two lovers are force ghosts together rn. don’t care how you feel or whether you "ship" them or not. love comes in so many forms and they encompass all that love.

jyn mentioning earlier in the film that she isn’t used to people sticking around when shit hits the fan and then dying in the arms of cassian?? because he stayed?? and for the first time she has someone??

in that same vein: cassian also says earlier in the film that he lost everything too. his connection with jyn is also important to him, just as important as it is to jyn. they need each other. i can’t remember who on this hellsite said it, but someone mentioned that they hope the stand alone cassian stuff coming out doesn’t make him this swindling playboy who fucks around a bunch. i think having him as more of like?? a mandolorian type character would be really cool. like he’s a rebel assassin: make him one. make him independent and badass and cool and DONT give him a bunch of romantic or sexual interests because then that downplays the clear love he had developing for jyn. again LOVE COMES IN FORMS BEYOND BASIC SHIPS. and there’s a lot of love in star wars.

i’ve said it a million times but vader is so cool and over and over again this movie reminded me that he’s actually so scary. i saw star wars for the first time when i was 6 and i can’t remember my initial reaction to him, but i’ve definitely (like with the death star) been desensitized to the fact that if i was in star wars, darth vader would scare the shit out of me. he’s *scary* and that’s cool. i liked seeing vader effortlessly go fucking mad on these rebels. then you understand why they were so scared in that first scene of a new hope.

no i absolutely will not get over the vader scene. i won’t. his saber turning on. his force abilities. his effortless lightsaber work. the choral music over the scene with the hectic orchestra. don’t touch me i’m emotional.

i loved seeing leia. it touches me so deeply every time.

hello hello, it's been a while since i asked a question so i'm back with one about...hair! can you tell us anything about the soli cast's hairstyling habits? ranking them from least to most effort put into maintaining it every morning, who's the most likely to wear braids, how attunements (feathers or anything else) play a part in this and what accomodations/products the veil makes for these mages.

Always a pleasure to see you show up in my activity feed or inbox, so the questions are welcome! Ranking them, funny enough but Maia would be at the top of the list for how much effort is put in. Her hairstyle is, by all means, simple. Behind the scenes, though, there's a lot going on to make it look effortless... and of course, when hair reaches a certain length it does become quite a task of love. This goes beyond just styling, as we're talking potions, serums, perfumes and maintenance.

Lyra easily comes after Maia... though she enjoys looking Nice Enough (it might be more accurate to say she likes looking "Cute, in a Mad Scientist Hippie sort of way"-- her own words), her haircare routine is more out of necessity than Maia's labor of love. It wasn't always as difficult to tame, but as her manifestation's overgrowth peppered in between her already wavy, loose curls, that changed. Thankfully detangler potions and specialty combs made for her exact type of manifestation come in quite handy... having a husband willing to help tame the nest, even as it got more out of control, also helps. It's difficult to see due to mostly seeing her from the front during chapter 2 and the post chapter omake, but she clips part of her thick hair back with a fused crystal lotus barrette. Etched into it is a simple sigil that aids in helping to keep things in place. It can't work miracles, but it can help keep her hair and feathers from tangling due to day-to-day activities. Audric follows after them. He wears a tidier, shorter hairstyle unless you count for the length of feathers that he ties back and tucks away under his uniform coat when on duty. There's nothing overly special in his haircare routine, though that changes when it comes to taking care of those silver-grey feathers that rest beneath his dark hair. Maintaining them to prevent breaks and fraying is where most of his efforts go. As they're a product of a rare phenomenon where a manifest trait is passed to a child from both parents sharing the same manifestation, though, he's been doing this since he was a small child... there was considerably more fraying and breakage as a child despite everyone's best efforts, especially as new growth and pin feathers are going to cause enough itching that a child isn't going to be able to resist. As an adult, though, it isn't much of a problem... and feather manifestations being a more common one in the veil means there's plenty of resources for taking care of them. His preening is now spot on. Audun follows soon after... Though his feathers are fine and small, much more flexible, and aren't quite as finnicky as his wife's and eldest son's. His hairstyle is simple, shorter, with the side lengths clipped back, it isn't difficult to maintain. His biggest task is (or was...) helping Lyra with hers or praying that-- Elias would probably never bother if his family didn't insist. This insisting generally comes from Audric, who will Cut If For Him If He Won't Get it Cut. He takes minimum effort in day-to-day upkeep, only keeping it free from tangles so Willow won't get caught when she's slithering about. There's a brief moment when it's freshly cut and styled by his older brother that it looks neat, intentional and styled... that probably lasts as long as one shake. Audric doesn't fight it anymore. Neither does Audun. Life's too short to keep rolling that boulder up the hill.

HDM S2 Ep 6 spoilers

So, I guess they’re saving the juicy stuff for next week to see out the season in style.

I kind of hope we get a glimpse of a Mulefa so we don’t have to wait another year (or longer, depending on when they can resume filming). Mary just casually strolling around the City of Magpies and Death and hugging children (who are actually taller than her omg she’s so little) with angels literally watching over her was so soft. I can’t wait to see her doing her thing next season.

Although, real talk for a second, I do not believe they can fit all of The Amber Spyglass into 8 episodes. The entire Mulefa plotline, the Angels plotline, the Gallivespians, the Magesterium plotline, the World of the Dead, the (mostly offscreen) War (which I’m not sure they’ll keep mostly offscreen because that seems like TV bait) and the rebirth of Dust...there is just SO MUCH. Either they need a longer season or they need two seasons. Even if they move some of the Asriel plot setup to a special episode out of the season (since it was supposed to be in this season and is partially filmed) or add that one to the episode count, it’s still gonna be pretty tight. And they already moved a little fast on Northern Lights (so much Lyra development lost). They are getting away with the shorter season on The Subtle Knife because they introduced Will last season and it’s a shorter book. Establishing him and his character is a good part of the book, so they’ve actually been left with room to explore Mrs Coulter more. But they don’t have that freedom next season because all the players have been introduced in The Amber Spyglass. The whole book is ‘in media res’ and goes full steam. And is TWICE AS BIG.

Except that one page. Which I really hope they portray right (I can picture Lyra talking to Roger in a black dreamscape and it cutting to her throughout the episode whilst everything is going on between and then at one point he asks The Question and it cuts back to Will being Will and doing everything he can and the rest of the episode subplots and you kind of forget Lyra dreaming of Roger and then the very last part of the episode is just Lyra, in the vast blackness of her dream, saying so softly ‘Because he’s Will’ and the episode ends)

Anyway...I think they either need to split the book into two seasons or make it 10-12 episodes at least (not including the Asriel episode).

Will and Lyra continue their journey into being the best people they’ve ever met (which, to be fair, isn’t that hard for either of them) and I love them so much. Lyra and Pan just wanting him to be okay and Will letting himself be vulnerable to her just *my heart*.

And, yeah, the witches continue to serve looks and damnnnnnnnnnn I love the aesthetic they came up with for the witches. They look amazing and, seriously, the cloud pines under the skin was a stroke of genius.

Mrs Coulter just straight up murdered a man and toasted to his death and I’m all for it because that man most certainly was not her equal. I’m not a Coulter stan in the slightest (she is very much ‘cool motive, still murder’ for me) but killing creepy misogynists who are fucking over three different societies for his own personal gain isn’t a great loss (except his actor is phenomenal, let’s be real).

I find it difficult to get invested in Lee and Jopari because I know where that story is going, but I do find Jopari’s portrayal interesting. He’s less gruff than I imagined from the books and I do think Andrew Scott is a little too young (since the character is supposed to be prematurely aging, and in fact it would have helped hide the very, very obvious hints to his identity if he’d been older than we’d expected for who he actually is) but the portrayal works. They are probably gonna get some amazing scenes next week before they return for their final blaze of glory later on.

Anyway, I’m not ready for the season to end already and I hope we get news about what they have planned for season 3 soon.

Zephyr (Gojo x OC) - Chapter 1

Description (Mirae's POV) - Being a trainee and being cut right before debuting was hard. Then being set as the manager for the same group? A whole different thing that I wasn’t ready to take. I just don’t know if it’s good or bad? I guess the best thing I could do is do my job, support my friend and hope for the best.

“Our agency has made a decision on the final group. One person is going to be cut and this was a hard decision that took a long time.” The five people in the meeting room got nervous. “I’d like to congratulate you all for making it this far. Our decision for the final group is Shoko Ieiri, Yui Haruno, Mei Mei and Inori Agawa.” The color drained out of Mirae’s face, as she clenched her hands and put on a weak smile. “Thank you for this opportunity. I’m very grateful to everyone here who has supported me. I will be taking my leave now.” She grabbed her purse and headed out of the office. 

“What did I do wrong? I thought I would make it. I only remember getting small things to work in the end and I fixed them all.” While heading out of the building, Mirae heard footsteps running towards her and called out her name. It was the group’s Assistant Director Izumi Kato. “Ms. Chibana, I have a small proposition. We are looking for a manager, and you may just have a chance to swim with the big fish of the music industry. Let me rephrase that. There may be a chance to launch your solo career.” This sparked a bit of hope, but she decided to think about it. Assistant Director Kato and Mirae decided to keep in contact until she could make a decision.

Around a week later, Mirae came to a decision. “Hello, Assistant Director. I’ve come to the decision and will be taking your offer.” She started as the Head Manager for the group she was about to debut for called “Lyra”.

It’s been a little over a year since the girl group "Lyra" debuted. They quickly became famous with their hit single “Poetry”. But they weren’t the only ones, a new boy group by the name of "BRiLLiaNT DaY" became famous around the same time, so both quartets were invited on a quiz style game show “Idol Knockout”.

W O O, so I'm back a bit from the art-grave to finally upload this piece I had completed a lil while ago... the pic in question being some slight redesign/touchups for two of my central side characters of TTM, Noira and Raider Crane~ 💙 Just to keep things a lil fresh and reflecting a bit better of their current character portrayals, so I hope you all enjoy! ^^

-Noira Crane (age 16) is Raider's younger sister, Princess Zia's best friend and currently enrolled at St. Ravilda's Mage Academy. A generally stoic and poised young lady with a rather sharp tongue than many would expect... often expressed through well-placed snark at those trying to interrupt her and Zia's "fun" (aka: sneaking around and setting up pranks around the school). When she's not busy hanging with Zia and keeping up their rather limited cheer squad these days, Noira could often be seen competing heavily for maintaining her place up above the top ranked students (of which a certain white-haired prince keeps trying to secure that spot for himself). Underneath her "well-to-do" exterior, however... lies a deep-down insecure girl who often feels pressured to bottle up her feelings, especially with the amount of pressure her parents (Lachlan & Vinia) put on both her and her brother Raider growing up. Combined with the strain put on from Raider's falling out with their parents a few years back... it's left Noira rather scared to delve too much into her own natural Water Mage abilities for fear she can't measure up (even with her folks trying their best to "dial back" for her sake, since she's their only remaining child living with them now). The few things in life that can truly bring a sense of peace and smiles to her face are Zia's company, the success of beating her rivals, and the never-ending bond she and Raider share between eachother... no matter the distance, no matter what.  (Fun Facts about Noira): -She's usually never seen walking around without her beloved dog companion, "Misty Belle" (courtesy to my pal @littlechaoticwitch for helping to come up with the name :3 ). The fluffy pup given to her as a gift from her folks a few years back, Misty is quite a sweet lil lady for most who are allowed to be near her. Always eager to follow her mistress around faithfully, snuggling and goofing around the room when left idle, and occasionally chewing at the ankles of those who try to mess with Noira (like, again, a certain white-paired prince who never ceases to push his luck lol).  -She was named after one of the earlier Crane family ancestors, "Noira the Victress". Said to have been quite a powerful blood pirate, the present-day Noira Crane has... always been a bit unsure of how to feel about her namesake, despite her father and some other distant relatives seeming rather proud of it. She's still a lil curious to try and research more about her ancestor though, given how popular she was as a subject for numerous campfire stories.  -Noira has been diagnosed as nearsighted from the time she was in elementary school, and thus is never seen without her favorite pair of horn-rimmed glasses (an aesthetic picked up from her favorite aunt, Freya).  -While her parents have officially stated for Noira to be the heir to their Crane Corp Industries business, Noira is still conflicted in herself of what she wants to do in life by the time she graduates. Whether it'd be to try out being a traveling Mage, or join more of Zia's royal court down in Asteria... its hard for her to decide atm.  -Being born a rather tiny and frail baby, Noira was always watched like a hawk by the family-hired medical professionals to keep her safe and protected. She's required to carry a couple EpiPens with her on the day-to-day with how many allergies she has, and Zia always tries to remember to keep a nice lil bag of snacks with her too in case her friend's blood sugar dips too low (as does Raider when he and Noira get to hang out on their own).  ============= -Raider Crane (age 21) is Noira's older brother, one of Kain's old school friends and currently making it big as an extreme stunt performer/traveling Electric mage. A bright, cheerful and fun-loving young man who lives to make others smile... whether it'd be for his own friend group or the crowds of audiences who clamor to come see his shows. Yet even with so much going well for him now... it wasn't always the easiest for him growing up before. Living under the roof of his folks who

always kept a tight grip

on him being "the best" (especially by his father), and even facing it worse with some bullying by Kaz's crew at school... it left Raider pretty timid and reclusive for the longest time. Only once others like Kain, Lyra, Briar and a few others taking the time to approach him did his true loveable goofball nature started to sprout for good... but at the same time, something just felt "missing" within Raider that didn't really sit right with him. Knowing how much of a rut he'd be bound to stay in if he kept up things how they were now... he decided by his last few years of Ravilda's to "change" himself for the better. From getting a new "bolder" punk look, working out and bulking over the summer, and taking some social sessions with fellow popular girl Dyani to gain some confidence in himself... Raider returned to the halls of the academy with a brighter, more-outgoing outlook on life now. He started gaining popularity left and right, taught Kaz's crew a thing or two when they tried one last chance to mess with him, and by graduation he was already on his way to make it big after getting signed on by an aspiring tv crew. All was going fine for once... yet back at home, things escalated between his parents (who still didn't seem understanding of Raider's personal dreams over their family business) to where Raider just... couldn't take it anymore. Many words were exchanged that night that prompted the young man to up and leave the family home for good... and never turning back except to now and then check up on his baby sister Noira. As the few years passed up until now, things are still going good for Raider in terms of his work and bond with Noira... though things remain relatively strained and awkward in regards to him and his parents. Whether things will ever truly improve or not with them is unclear as of now... but for the time being, Raider is at least content with himself on being able to finally shape his life the way it should be; fun, free, and fulfilling in its own way~.  (Fun Facts about Raider): -Back at his own personal trailer, Raider has a trio of cats he adopted awhile back named "Sprocket", "Buzz", and "Zipps". Having always been a strong cat person since he was a boy (but never getting the chance to own one growing up, given his mom's allergy to them), it was a big dream of Raider's to get his own feline companion by the time he moved out of the house. He went to the shelter to find three kitten siblings who were tossed aside and overlooked among some other animals... and being the big sweetie as he was, Raider was all too eager to scoop them up to adopt them all together. They're quite a funny bunch who tend to get into some trouble if left unsupervised, but are very much loyal to Raider either way with how often they'll form some "snuggle piles" with him once he's off-of-work.  -Raider gained his name from his paternal great-grandfather, Raider "The Swiftest" Crane. Originally was going to be named "Odin" (after Lachlan's own father, as was the old man's request many years ago)... but due to a falling out between the two not long before his son's birth, Lachlan decided against that and gave his boy "an even prouder name" to look up to instead. As for the present-day Raider himself, he's always been curious to know more about his great-grandfather given some accounts about him being a "commander of the skies" (via-riding dragons).  -From birth, Raider has carried an eye condition known as "Anisocoria"... in which one of his pupils is permanently smaller than the other eye and thus leaving him with some partially-blurred vision. For certain shows of his that take place in some heavy-weather conditions, Raider is required to wear some specialized goggles to help him see through his performance.  -His current neon/cyan blue hair isn't his natural haircolor, as Raider was actually born with darker/blackish-blue hair instead. Used to grow it out pretty shaggy and long up until his teens (in where he often hid his face behind his locks at times when he was down on himself)... but by the time his last

few highschool years rolled around, he cut most of it off and styled it to the look its at now as a nice change of pace. Got quite a few compliments on it's initial debut, so Raider has long since kept it around as his own lil "brand".  -As most of his friends have all long since went their separate ways after Ravilda's, Raider is the main one who likes to keep arranging for them to meet up on the few downtimes they're able to take off from their schedules. Often likes to greet any of his buddies with the biggest, crushing hugs imaginable (being lowkey touch-starved as he is)... and while not always the most logical thinker in terms of planning, he's the main heart to keep the group afloat in times they start bickering or feeling lost with one another.

Do the Rochambeau Guys Look Identical?

Okay so we’ve gotten a few questions about faces. Namely, how do the Rochambeau guys look alike and not question it. This is up to the reader, really, but realistically, they wouldn’t look alike. To them, they don’t look alike. We picture them all as Lin b/c that’s what we’re used to as viewers. The more I write these characters, the less I see them as Lin which sort of helps b/c then my brain isn’t constantly thinking “CLONES” or something. I’m going to kind of talk about how I envision them and if you have a particular faceclaim for one or more of them, we’d love for you to reblog and add it to this post because we’re curious as to what you guys see-even if it’s Lin at different ages. Remember, whatever YOU envision is correct. That’s all that matters. I just decided since we were asked three times to kind of give an idea of what I see when I’m writing, but LOVE to know your ideas :)

Alexander: So Alex being the oldest, I get this sense of maturity and looking older than the rest of them (not necessarily Lee). I do see a lot of Lin b/c you can’t have Hamilton and not think of Lin. @break-so-beautifully​ has really molded him into this seasoned veteran wise badass that I adore and the more I tried to to think of a face for him, the harder it was b/c I see Lin but also just this handsome, suave guy who’s going to do whatever it takes to protect his new family. Definitely older Lin vibes.

Physical Description: On the shorter side-no taller than 5′8, and this is important to me because I’ve never been a fan of guys trying to make themselves bigger b/c height is something you can’t help anyway, and a short man that owns his height and is unapologetic about it is a plus in my book. Alex definitely owns his height. He’s lean and fit and has short hair (he’ll grow it out back to Ham style later) and is very Lin in those soulful kind of eyes and has a mild New York accent. No scars due to his condition. 

Usnavi: I definitely get young Lin vibes from Usnavi, but I picture Usnavi being on the thin side-like he’s extremely lanky and is probably still ID’d out at bars. He’s on the darker side of skin shade (being Dominican) and has thick hair (you just can’t tell b/c it’s under a hat) which he keeps short. He has braces (didn’t get them until he was an adult) and looks younger than he is. 

Physical Description: Lanky, average height. Thick hair and soulful eyes, but definitely tired looking with dark circles under them most of the time. Has the darkest shade of skin out of all the guys. Little scars here and there just from life. Braces. Almost always wears his hat. 

Not exactly, but I have this kind of look about him in my head (the hair, thick eyebrows, facial hair, and thin boyish look about him)

Ruben: *sighs* Here we go-my baby. So...Ruben is also on the darker side of skin tone. He has that sweet, soulful-eyes Lin look to him, but his hair is curly. Like, when his hair gets long enough you can put that shit in a ponytail in no time. He has marks all over his body from his traumatic experience in Jamaica-burn marks, scars from being hit with an extension cord and a belt, a stab wound scar in his abdomen from an accidental stabbing, and Ian’s name branded into his chest from a hot coat hanger (check out RACD to really delve into this). On his face, he only has one visible scar near his jawline 

Physical Description: Average height. Scars all over (wears long sleeves all the time and mostly sweaters and collar shirts), curly hair that can get absolutely out of control if he doesn’t tame it, big soulful eyes, soft spoken, stutters a lot-and the stuttering is extremely important. This isn’t stutters once in a while. This is a more frequent than not kind of thing. Even in regular conversation, he can be trying to push one word out for several seconds (don’t worry-none of the boys call attention to it). Second darkest shade of skin out of the guys.

The hair: level unbrushed and untamed

Alvie: The baby of the group (unless you’re counting Lyra). Alvie is the smallest, definitely on the thin side and has just this boyish, scrufy look about him. I picture him having kind of a really soft voice with a slightly raspy texture sometimes (plays in well to his power involves sleep so he might sound tired a lot). I have a faceclaim for him for sure. In my headcanon, Alvie’s half white and it sort of worked with him struggling to fit in growing up. My face claim for him is Alexander O’conner (Rex Orange County). He has the right boyish look to him.

Physical Description: The smallest of the guys (but also the youngest) and def still looks like a teenager almost. He’s half white and looks more white than Hispanic (but he does tan in the sun). He has a gap between his front teeth and doesn’t grow facial hair as well as the rest of them. He has self-harm scars on his wrists (from his teenage years) and a small scar on his left temple from a botched ETC session at Rochambeau. He has thick, straight sticky-up y hair. He doesn’t particularly know how to (or care to) to tame it and in Rochambeau they kept his hair short for ETC treatment so it would have gone from this:

Lee Scoresby: He kind of ties with Alex on the Lin faceclaim only he’s not short. Lee is definitely the tallest of the bunch. I think b/c he’s the newest character I can’t picture anyone but Lin, but he definitely screams ‘tallest’ in my head.

Physical Description: The tallest of the guys with a mustache and thick hair quiff. He’s right on the level of fit with Alexander only he does have scars-just cuts and nicks here and there. It’s important to me that he’s tall b/c he can tote Lyra around when she’s hurt or tired like a mother koala bear.

Lawless: Honestly since he’s not a Lin, I did not have to struggle with him. He’s just Leslie Odom Jr. I picture him almost exclusively always in a suit. Even when he goes to bed. Even when he showers.

Pippa: Same. She’s just Phillipa Soo. 

Lyra: Dafne Keen only slightly younger Dafne Keen b/c she’s eleven in this story and I feel she’s small and can fit in tight places to hide and spy and she has those little kid long toothpick legs that are not in proportion to her body yet. More legs than torso.

This is one of the few books to receive a 5/5 star review from me. It was so stunning that I just couldn’t put it down. Each story is rich with original myths, interesting lessons and gorgeous story lines.

Most of the time, pop culture references in books feel forced and inauthentic. But not in this one. Kim sprinkles in references that are actually relevant, contribute to the scene and that readers will actually get.

I don’t know where Laini Taylor gets her ideas, but that woman’s mind is amazing. You will never read anything else quite like this book.

The characters in this book have various different motivations and beliefs, and they intersect in very interesting ways. If you want to write a story that weaves together fantasy and politics, this is a must-read. 

Plus, if you want to move away from the black-and-white of old-school fantasy characters, this book will show you how to do it.
