What do you think would have happened if Peeta was rescued from the 74th arena along with Katniss?
Do you think it would have changed the timeline of the rebellion?
Any fic with this premise?
Thank you :)
@curiousnonny
What do you think would have happened if Peeta was rescued from the 7475th arena along with Katniss?
Katniss would not have felt as lost at the start. I think there are still many things left unspoken between them, i.e. their contradictory plans during the arena time. But, overall, I think that Katniss would not have felt like she was missing a purpose. Peeta might have encouraged her to go through the District 13 routines in much the same way he got them all to train for the Quarter Quell.
Many decisions, i.e. how to be a part of the rebellion, would have been made together, surely, especially due to Coin's preference between the two being Peeta.
Their romance would have been a strong part of the propos and Peeta would have been the charismatic person to talk.
Much in contrast to Gale, I think Peeta would have understood Katniss' suspicion of Coin and, at the same time, Katniss having an outlet to voice this to Peeta, might have appeared less rebellious to Coin.
They definitely would have staged a wedding ceremony between Peeta and Katniss.
The remaining victors would have stayed in the Capitol until the end of the war, unless Peeta could have persuaded Coin to help because it would look good for the rebellion.
Snow's strategy would be enormously different because he cannot terrorise Katniss in much the same way, meaning he might have been more vicious in the hard power (real guns) kind of manner. Like, bombing 13 might have happened much earlier because he didn't have any other methods.
Overall, a lot would have changed, and those are just some ideas on the how.
Do you think it would have changed the timeline of the rebellion?
Yeah, I think it would. Both because Peeta raises the soft power of the rebellion, and also because Snow's lack of pressure on Katniss would have caused him to become more vicious and use more hard power.
In addition, I do not think Katniss would have wandered the District aimlessly for a whole month. Snow did not understand that seeing Peeta on screen was what gave her a purpose in this fight; and the "purpose" being on the side of the rebels might instead have nudged her to go to meetings and do things together.
I cannot say that the war would simply have ended a month sooner because that's not how war works, but Peeta's existence in 13 would have been a decisive factor in making Snow more weak and desperately searching for options while District 13 gained two strong victors instead of one "weak" one (in war purposes I mean).
Any fic with this premise?
I'm not well versed in Everlark fanfictions, but I'm a sucker for what-if premises. If anyone got a good longfic on "What if Peeta came to 13 as well" or "What if Peeta was in 13 and Katniss in the Capitol" I'd love to give it a shot! :)

What are some blood demon art concepts you find interesting but they weren’t explored in the canon?
This was one of the Asks that made me go, "uuuuuuhhhhh..."
The reason for this is that I find myself most creative in response to a problem. For example, in this fic I came up with the Mirror Demon because I wanted a demon that might be fought with the final form of Flower Breath. That's why in a lot of hypotheticals or potential AUs I'm asked about, my first response is to set the perimeters and figure out how to work within those constraints, such as asking what would be in-character. Constraints drive creativity, like how well you can write a haiku within a given set of rules.
What I'm less good at is divergent creativity: coming up with something out of nothing, no limits.
That brings me to how I'd like to answer this Ask: with a breakdown of my brainstorming methods!
A common phenomenon is that children are better at divergent thinking--imagining all the possibilities--than adults, who have had that ability beaten out of them by the emphasis on "rightness" and that some ideas are "stupid." It takes exercising this part of the brain to be able to think in more original ways instead of just "the best" ways. This page breaks it down pretty simply and explains it with the paperclip test/game, and here's more ideas for other exercises and different kinds of goals you could potentially have for creative thinking.
When I am doing a group brainstorming exercise, be it in a classroom or office setting, what I find works best is a leader/moderator at the board who can catch things and write fast and potentially legibly (within reason for how fast they're writing), and the method should be agreed upon in advance--for example, mind-mapping, which uses branches from a main idea to show relationships between ideas. Typically, this means starting with a main idea in the center and branching out into different categories as more ideas come to you. Another methods is writing things in a list format, thinking of as many things as you can in a given category. These are basics found in any cheesy corporate "how to increase creativity" guide, but they are helpful in easing people into how to brainstorm.
The challenge is to set a time frame--short enough that you are forced to think fast, long enough that it gets painful. The time frame is up to you, whether it's setting a timer for one minute or however long it takes for you to write while eating melting gelato. Okay, maybe in a formal setting you'll set a timer to keep everyone on the same page.
While you might have a different ultimate goal in the purpose of your brainstorming, what you're going for here is not quality, but quantity--as many ideas as possible--and that means not throwing any stupid ideas out. If anything, the stupid ideas are where magic starts to happen. It's the shift from "basic stuff anyone could think of off the top of their head" to "oh, I never would had thought of this otherwise." You have to force yourself to think past the initial, obvious-feeling, correct-feeling ideas to access what's more unusual, and that usually means some stupid ideas first. It's like dusting out the cobwebs of this part of your brain you aren't usually accessing. I've also heard this process described as tossing out your first ten ideas, at least in a creative script-writing approach.
Refining your ideas, convergent thinking, comes later. But only after you've gotten some ideas to work with!
The reason a legible mind-map or list works well in a group setting is because this means everyone can observe the ideas after the initial "hurry, hurry, think, think" stage. Everyone can discuss them and decide which ones to throw out, and even draw lines showing more connections and circling whatever ideas you want to come back to.
But do I look like a corporate board room to you? No. I ate gelato today while writing this:
When it's just me using it, I don't care about legibility, and I use a mix of mind-mapping arrows and lists and flow of consciousness. While playing with story ideas I might whole pages of doodles that look like this with fragments of character lines. This gave me a way to observe my own thoughts about Demon Blood Techniques and their unlimited potential, and I found that I kept myself thinking quickly by asking questions and then answering myself.
Also, I got lines like "Skunk demon" and "so now we're the Magic School Bus."
Some of the themes I found interesting were the repeated effects of sound waves (Kyogai, Nakime, Flute Demon), and infinity (the fortress, the ability to regenerate, the ability to replicate, etc.). One of the themes I thought deeper on was how much I love Kyogai's abilities, and not just Kyogai himself. For as much as other Blood Techniques are based on things we've seen in other media (being trapped in good dreams, alternate dimensional spaces, spider threads, body duplicates, illusions, etc)., Kyogai's abilities were very unexpected, but also had a rationale to them. However, instead of the sound waves only changing the orientation and spatial locations of the rooms, he also had big air claws, which otherwise would seem like they have nothing to do with the orientation of a room. In the first place, air claws and redecorating seem they have nothing to do with drums. It's the combination of these factors that make Kyogai's Blood Technique so impressive and refreshing.
Once I made that observation, I made a couple of lists of potential means that a demon might use and ways that a Demon Slayer or prey might be overcome, and then I connected them semi-randomly. I got connections like "temperature" and "memories," like how a demon might raise the temperature of a room little by little and call to a demon slayer's mind memories of their childhood, until they are completely overwhelmed with that last summer they spent in childhood innocence as they are in reality boiling alive, and "color" with "invading body," like if a chameleon-like demon can match the color of a Nichirin blade then it can gain control over the swordsman's hands and forearms, whatever grip created that color.
My favorite, though, was "fingernails" and "suffocation," because it gave me a very vivid mental image of a demon sweeping its hand like it's going to grab a swordsman's face, but draws away just shy of touching them. However, with its long fingernails, it's grabbed the Breath just about to enter a swordsman, and pulls it right out of them.
Horrific, am I right!?!?
So anyway. That's what I got from my divergent thinking experiment today. It's the kind of thing I tell myself I need to do more of when trying to write my own original fiction, but kind of like physical exercise, I think about it more than I actually do it. ^^;

My darling, darling Cee 🥺🧡
That sleepover says so much about you. The time and energy you've invested into celebrating and lifting up others, with so much selflessness and generosity, and method. I love you and your wonderful heart and your fantastic brain 🧡
And I had so much fun answering those, thank you, my devilish darling Cee.
💜 I guess I brought it on myself but that FMK is not cool!! I should have known you'd be A COMPLETE MENACE. I never expected you to bring Max L into the equation! You know I've a soft spot for him 😭 So, I did a bit of thinking, and here's the plan:
Fuck: Javi. I feel like I don't really have to elaborate. Marry: Jack. He's husband material, and by "husband material" I mean yes I want a man who loves me so much he won't hesitate to off half the planet to avenge my death. Is there any other kind of love, I ask you? Kill: Max BUT WAIT UP, it's DC. So I'd go and get the Flash to do his running around trick and rewind time so I could undead Max I SIMPLY REFUSE TO HURT HIM, ok?
✍🏼 Oh Cee. You know you're one of the reasons why that story's out there. I don't mean to bore you, but, again, THANK YOU. Yes, I had always planned to weave in the memories of the orange bedroom with the present (you should see the schematics I drew when I planned it out, they're hilarious). Firstly, because the two main protagonists have lived their entire adult lives imprisoned in their heads reliving their past, and I wanted the narrative to reflect that. I wanted to linger on the progression of their feelings throughout the weekend without it being boring, which I think a solid block at the beginning of the fic would have been, so that their love would feel inescapable. I hoped the constant back and force between past and present would give it more weight and substance, and would (hopefully) trigger a wistful emotion in the reader's heart. Thirdly, I love Benny, I wanted to do him justice, not merely make him instrumental to the plot. But then, the fact that one single weekend held the power to jeopardize 10 months of a sweet, healing relationship had to be not only believable, but also the idea people would root for. The flashbacks served that purpose by keeping the weekend constantly in the readers' minds. And lastly, I really wanted it to hurt!!
🤷🏻♀️ Oh yes, it is a fun one!!! You know how much I love that jacket and that belt, but there is NO WAY I'm giving up the sweat and zip ties, and can he PLEASE use both on me thank you very much I WILL CLEAN UP THIS MAN WITH MY TONGUE. My Frankie blog pfp is actually from that scene because I'm a whore.
❓ Brain totally bugged at "finishing" and "Palomino" in the same sentence. As a matter of fact, this got me so high up in my Palomino feels that I watched Golden Circle yesterday evening. I still have to read your Joel but I cannot wait to go down on him, I mean on it (I only packed one book for the holidays because I know I'll just want to read that!!), I'm sure I will frigging love it, and I can't wait to scream about it with you.
Please, come chat my ear off about our pilot any time. You know how picky I am when it comes to reading Frankie, but you get him SO WELL, it's an absolute treat for me (and the 2999 other smart people who follow you).
One more for the road: thank you so much for this sleepover, my darling. I'll raise my green juice to your next milestone... CHEERS (mouahahahahahahhaha!!!)
Helloooooooooooooooooo it's me 🧡🤪🤡🧡 your personal and favourite Frankie consultant (I just love to claim titles, don't I) 🚁🧢
For the followers milestone sleepover (CONGRATS AGAIN!!!), I love the f/m/k game, so : 💜
I would have picked ✍🏼 but I still struggle to consider myself a proper writer...
I'm also very curious about 🤷🏻♀️?? Will you have us pick between two impossible choices...? You are that kind of masterful menace, ilysm.
And finally, if you will indulge me: ❓ what's next????? The Frankie series?????? Eeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!
And now it's your turn to pick one of the above!
Congratulations again, my darling, and THANK YOU 🧡🧡🧡🧡
MY PERSONAL FRANKIE CONSULTANT, I love you so much 🧡🧡🧡 I refuse to pick, so I'm afraid you'll have to entertain ALL my questions 😘
💜 FMK with Max Lord, Jack and Javier (I am very interested to see how this one turns out)
✍🏼 Not only are you a 'proper' writer, you are a phenomenal writer, and I can ask you about your writing all day, but I will restrict myself to one.
One of my favourite things about Please to Meet You is the way you twist and mould time to tell the story through flashbacks. I've never read a fic that weaves the past and present so beautifully and effectively. Is this something that you planned from the beginning, or did it come to you when you started writing the story?
🤷🏻♀️ Ok this is a fun one. If Frankie could only wear one outfit for the rest of his life, would you choose this or that (the latter including the sweat and zip ties):
❓ Next is... finishing Palomino 😭 I have a little update about that coming next week. And after that, I want to write a follow up to college AU Joel, and then I want to chat your ear off about my planned angsty Frankie series (?) Summer House. Seams will be ongoing as well, but it might take me a little while to get to the next part since I'm still sussing out how I want the series to go forward.
Thank you so much for playing Maddie my love, this was so much fun! And everyone please read PTMY, it's honestly one of my favourite things I've ever read and you'll have the good fortune to read the whole series in its entirety because Maddie just finished it 🧡

Okay I have a lot to say in response to this repost from @cyanisatakenusernamefuckit regarding that lil post I made about sick kusuo, hence the entirely independent post, but just roll with it for a second k cause there’s a lot and I love looking into this stuff.
okay so this reply involved a little bit of research on my end (there is a little room for error in what i’m saying bc it wasn’t super in depth so if i’m wrong abt anything lmk)
so after googling i’ve found that most bacteria will die around 60-80 deg C; there are some bacteria out there that can thrive in 100 C heat but whether those can negatively impact humans im not sure
We don’t really know how hot Kusuo can make his fire. We’ve seen him go up to around 93 C in the first episode when he made temp of the thermometer go up to make takahashi seem sick. He can go higher than that as seen when making fire (edit: so about 200C) but what I want to know is exactly how high can Kusuo go and be able to tolerate it.
I think an important thing to remember is that Kusuo is still human and he still has limits and he’s not immune to everything he just has a much higher tolerance than regular people. Take from his fight btwn him and kusuke in Season 3, while the heat energy ray wasn’t enough to really injure him, it did effect him, and he admitted that his arm would’ve turned red had the ray hit him dead on, which isn’t a big effect but it shows he’s not immune, plus he was bleeding some near the end of the fight. So there’s a limit to how much heat Kusuo can take.
edit: it was shown that Kusuo would’ve been burnt by the lava when trying to prevent the volcano which can get up to 1200 C so that’s most likely his limit
That being said, there’s a chance with his genius brain Kusuke could be able to mutate some form of bacteria that could tolerate high heats enough so that Kusuo couldn’t kill it without simultaneously effecting himself, and even if he couldn’t, like you said a biological weapon created by Kusuke probably wouldn’t need to.
But let’s take a different approach. Instead of bacteria and viruses let’s look at allergies. We’ve seen that Kusuo has allergies and it also impacts his powers in that he’s not able to fully control them when he’s partially sick.
Knowing this, what if Kusuke was able to look at his research (bc he def did a lot of testing on kusuo) and found other substances that kusuo was allergic too. There’s a chance that Kusuke could send Kusuo into anaphylactic shock if he was able to inject enough of the allergen into him or smth similar.
Or let’s look at poisons, as far as i’m aware, i don’t think?? Kusuo is completely immune to poisons, just that he could see if they were put in food. Kusuke’s been able to get the jump on Kusuo a few times so i don’t think it’s out of the question for him to be able to pull something, especially if he had a high dosage of said poison. It wouldn’t even have to be an injection it could simply be poisonous gas, because as we’ve been told, even Kusuo can’t filter out what’s in the air.
There might also just be some substances out there that negatively effect his psychic powers, like how germanium impacts his telepathy. There could be some material that impacts his immunity to substances or just inhabits him. Like a psychic kryptonite.
I wouldn’t be surprised if through a large amount of testing Kusuke would be able to find something that could effect Kusuo. And if Kusuo got sick enough, the amount of control he has with his powers is up in the air so he might not have enough control to help himself.
or if kusuke just found a way to block kusuo’s pyrokinesis with some material, then it’d be much easier to make kusuo sick because again he’s not immune to bacteria and virus’s he just kills them with heat before it can effect him.
Regarding the question about pain, I don’t think it’s that Kusuo is always in pain (tho i wouldn’t be shocked if he has chronic migraines) but again just a lot higher tolerance to pain than regular humans.
and the thing about premonition is that Kusuo doesn’t have control over it and it happens at random. There’s no telling if kusuo would get a warning about a Kusuke scheme or not, and tbh in the past he hasn’t. Half the time kusuo doesn’t really know what Kusuke is up to, and a lot of his plans take him by surprise. Take toritsuka’s demon possession, or Kusuke’s weird ass birthday card, or him taking himself hostage in the cat fight episode. Kusuo was surprised by all of it. So i wouldn’t depend on precognition to warn Kusuo about an impending illness. Theoretically Kusuo might be able to teleport away before things got too severe, but Kusuke could probably plan out something that would make Kusuo not want to leave, or maybe his powers would be so inhabited that he couldn’t.
Fortunately, I don’t think Kusuke would ever try to actually kill kusuo. So i don’t think we have to worry about that, which is great because Kusuke is definitely a force to be reckoned with
#Ive definitely been thinking about this stuff for a while now#regarding different ways to inhibit kusuo's powers#simply for fic purposes and I do think i'd be using one of these methods if i ever get around to writing one#bc im a sucker for angst#but it's also important to remember that kusuo is still human#regardless of how much he wants to deny it#and he still has limits and he's not immune to everything#boys just got a hell of a high tolerance#anyways ill shut up now#i just love this concept#sick saiki#sick saiki au#saiki#saiki k#disastrous life of saiki k#the disaster of psi kusuo saiki#kusuo saiki#saiki no psi nan#kusuke#kusuke saiki#saiki brothers
