The scene where the choir starts singing Simon's song instead of the og Hillerska song makes me so emotional. A lot of the show's classism/racism/prejudice is primarily shown through Simon's treatment, which I think as a fandom we often forget because it's become so normalized throughout the show. But think about it y'all- from day one Simon is bullied EVERYDAY day at his school for his socioeconomic class and values. That is EXHAUSTING, that slowly eats away at a person, and the fact that he manages to keep his sense of self throughout that at age 16 is impressive. And in season 3 that got compounded with the vulgar homophobic, racist, and classist hate comments he got from the public. He is constantly the one challenging that school's insane archaic and prejudiced values, despite the bullying. That school has NOT been kind to him, but when they sing the song that he was initially not allowed to sing, he sees that something he did at that school mattered. It did influence people, his bravery did change things. Simon Eriksson you will ALWAYS be famous.

Not technically my all-time favourite scene but I died when the choir sung Simon’s song instead of the Hillis song, it had all of the characters gagged which I found hilarious and then how it sounded so choral and ethereal as all of the students greeted their parents, and the younger pictures on poster boards were so cute, and I’m just so glad we got to hear the full song in the show and I sobbed so hard that it hurt

The angst and push and pull of Wilmon's relationship is what makes Young Royals epic for me. Their relationship is the fairytale, the hero's epic quest, the victory at the end of the revolution. They are tried and tested separately and together so thoroughly that by the end of just nine months, they have earned their forever after.

Even dealing in realism, they have learned how the other person reacts in adverse situations and how much the other person will sacrifice for the other and for themselves and their loved ones. Their push and pull balances their power imbalance, a common thing in real relationships. They know it is worth it to be honest with each other, even if it causes a fight, because they know that they are safe with each other, they have each other's backs (and hearts).

They have seen each other at their worst and best. They know what the other person is capable of and will always remind them of it. Their passionate personalities means that neither one will become a doormat for long.

I love every bit of the adversity that these characters experienced in their relationship through all three seasons. It's why I love season two so much. Each thing was necessary to test their resolve.

I was not frustrated that they didn't have loads of fluff and happiness, because just happiness for me is boring, and doesn't help a person grow. The amount of happy moments they had in season three were so many compared to previous seasons, almost equal to the misery they felt.

I suppose because love is pain at times, as Lisa said in a recent interview. It's fire and ice. Committed relationships require regular work and forgiveness of one's partners faults and tremendous understanding. Neither person can be taken for granted in the Wilmon relationship.

They will continue to fight going forward, as Wille asks Simon to do at the lake scene. Especially as they change and mature.

you know, every time i hear Mapei's version of Simon's Song, i just tear up - because it makes Simon feel so real, as in, he is so real that someone has written a fanfic of the song he wrote. it gives me a kind of vertigo, from the feeling of the line between the real and the fictional blurring. Also, sedate me, how is this man so adorable.
