Working on a thing and looking for suggestions: What mythical creature would you associate the major clans with?

So far, the only three I've decided on are Lan= dragons, Su= snakes, and disciples of Boashen Sanren= Huli Jing. I also know I want the Jiangs to be some kind of water creature, but which one I have no idea

#mdzs #mo dao zu shi #grand master of demonic cultivation #i thought of basing the clans creatures off the 5 cardinal directions but the more i looked into it the less it felt right #with that idea I felt like the clans ended up correlated to animals that dont make sense or were just in the wrong direction #i still kinda like the idea of Jin= Qilin though #side note- but i think Song Lan's temple wouldn't have a singular animal since they take in orphans #the same can be said for Boashen Sanren i guess but... idk. wanted her disciples to be special #maybe its just all her disciples that left were Huli Jing (mischievous little guys couldnt stay put)
