Listening to the AOR Spanish dub part 6 (ep 8)

(spoilers of course!)

oghhhh this has been sitting in my drafts but finally I will continue where I left off

- Man I really like Seladon’s defiance. it just. ouch, she either really thinks she’s doing the right thing or is too scared to cease doing wrong - landstriders look like theyre in constant pain hh - Chamberlain sounds s o threatening when he’s talking to the gruenaks  - I love SkekGra and UrGoh’s voices so much. So far I don’t have much comment to the episode other than like. I just want to have a late night conversation with UrGoh man :( - “...todo cuando conoces a mi familia” Deet sounds so cheeky i laughed

- Holy SHIT SkekTek’s delivery in the scene where he drains the Stonewoods. The pompousness, the malice. He sounds so evil I love - “I’d forgotten how ugly you all are” didn’t have the same bite HOWEVER the emperor’s “que” made up for it I snorted - Seladon’s VA is so fucking talented ogh my god. - When Seladon is negotiating with the Emperor, you really feel the confidence she’s trying to put on. It really clicks that its years of being “the all-maudra one day” put into the facades she can put up even when she’s terrified. Seeing her break face hurts so much more

- The Emperor’s “uh. no” odjcn.............. my guy - :/ Ayuk saying “so that we may drain your essence” doesn’t have the same level of taunt to it, more like he is stating simple fact. - “mis padres...” *UGLY CRYING* - DEET SOUNDS MUCH MORE HURT AND SAD TALKING TO BOBB’N OUCH MY HEART - Deet has like... the best voice actress i literally cannot stress this enough - idk why but in the English dub, I have a hard time telling the tone of the scene with their voices. Like the emotional tone of scenes are kind of lost on me but the espanol gelfling VAs do SUCH a good job in conveying emotion  - Var why do you sound so pretty when you yell - I just realized the foreshadowing in “youre a fraud”. SkekUnga bunga - THEY ALL BE BREATHING SO HEAVY AJSDHF - Chamberlains voice. I just. I just love how he Talks Like This EveRy SinGle SylLaBle Is EnUnCiAtEd  - THE WAY AYUK SAYS CONCUIDADO IM SKNNDVBF ME. MOOD. SAME. - “está vivo...” why’d you say it like that skekTek - skektek I hate you not for anything youve done previously or after this but specifically for how you carelessly rip out the arrows someone get skekMal a real doctor por favor 

- “el humus? que es?” YEAH ACTUALLY ID LIKE TO KNOW  - skekLach looks SO SAD - I’m not a big fan of skekOk’s dub but mans REALLY doesn’t deliver with the amount of sass Ok is meant to have in the “perhaps you are not so clever” line or any line and I am NOT just being a Neil stan - “todos gracias a ti” ok OUCH. At the beginning of this interaction between seladon and brea I was thinking like. her voice has a little too much force behind it even when shes being quiet and is shaken up, esp at the beginning. but ohhh boy does it WORK HERE HH

- “si si! a todas costa, si! es que esperas punto trabajacan no tenemos todo trine no.” LACH YOU ARE VERY CUTE AND I APPRECIATE HER HAVING MORE SPOKEN LINES THAN SHE DOES IN THE ENGLISH DUB - “no me gusta esto” oh vas a lol - why do deets dads sound so HANDSOME - even tho they are completely justified i still cant get over how much I dont like how the arathim switch sides every 5 minutes - the arathim voices...eegh - once again thank you espanol bobb’n for having a voice that actually sounds like a little kid i hate english bob’s voice so much - every time they do that spinny camera thing i fall in love with this show harder

- Another thing I like about this dub, when Vliste Staba talks in this dub, the words rhyme and it got me like !!!!!!!!!!! - that was. the weirdest sounding gasp. im so sorry but. vliste staba. sanctuary tree. bruh. hhhh - ok vliste staba sounds way too calm and collected im sorry. i like his voice much more here but i prefer him to sound like hes dying when hes dying - Rian carrying Deet up...........tender

Listening to the AOR Spanish dub part 4 (ep 6-7)

(Spoilers of course!!)

- I don’t think I’ve praised how talented SkekVar and Brea’s voices are yet or nearly enough but WOW their delivery is so good - SkekZok in the english dub has a more quiet reprimand like “adrian micheal I’m gonna beat your ass” but in this dub he’s outright more like “skekvar you fuckin FOOL LMAO” - I would die for the Armaligs :( - “¡mi carruaje! D:” LMAO - Gosh i cannot stress how emotional Brea’s voice actress’ delivery makes me OUCH OUCH OUCH - UrVa’s little leaf snack...

- The funeral scene didn’t make me cry the first time but oh boy....oHHH boy..,, i came very very close this time if I wasn’t currently in the presence of other people in the next room I would  - SELADON OUCH MY HEART - Seladon’s delivery with Maudra Fara is so much more raw and frantic oaaghh - chamberlain stank - Tavra you are an angel - now its seladon ouch my ears because once again, she whistles her S’s and it makes my misophonia go absolutely fucking bonkers I cannot stand that sound and with headphones Ouch - God Maudra Seethi’s voice is GORGEOUS UGH - MAUDRA LAESID SOUNDS SO BADASS FICJHCJKS

- Maudra Laesid has the type of voice of someone I would gladly follow into battle tf this is perfect. I don’t remember what her other dubs sound like but this is the best no contest. - I just realized, all of the Maudra’s concerns have nothing to do with loyalty. They want to fight the skeksis, they’re just scared they’re too powerful to have any sort of chance of defeating - Uh oh Rek’yr is hot sounding in this dub too aww man - The scene between him and Brea sounded a lot more tender oh ouch my heart - RIAN LMAO the “for starters he’s a dousan” part is so good smhhh - All in all this episode is so much better dubbed oh my god - In the english dub I couldn’t tell the Maudras voices apart but theyre SO distinct I much prefer this

- The “as you burned your own mother.../...Paladins!” had nowhere near the same emotion but this is like the first negative out of the entire episode so geniunely I can let that slide - OH I CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR URGOH  - Bennu ily - SKEGRAA SDBFHCIXKSJNDDUCNJCWCNXEJCKECIECSMS - Ok so his voice must have been VERY 1) distorted by the message 2) it has aged a lot because WOW its a lot more high pitched buT I LOVE IT SO MUCH SKEKGRA ILY  - hang on. i need a moment. i need a moment. skekgra i love you - “SKEKGRA, EL CONQUISTADOR” i have been jokingly calling him this for months hearing it is surreal - SkekGra sounds like somebody’s tio and this fits so so well stoner uncle stoner uncle brings la ganja to the barbeque

Listening to the AOR Spanish dub part 5 (ep 7)

(Spoilers of course!)

- The sudden change from spanish dub to Andy Samberg’s laughing was really jarring ngl lmao but its no big deal tho - Unrelated but the plot all seems to flow a lot better after the first time you watch it I dont remember shit from the first time I watched AOR but I do remember being like “wait why were they there again” - tbh that probably because it has my full attention rn and I’m not getting up and doing stuff while trying to watch. iam actually absorbing it this time. - anyways back to this - mystics have MASSIVE nail beds lmao

- UrGoh’s voice is SO SOOTHING AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA - I much prefer this dub of UrGoh his voice is so nice and calm and just perfectly captures him I’m gonna weep my dear mi amorcito you sound so lovely - actually his voice is super hot ouch - “UAGHHH ESO NI SIQUIERA TIENE SENTIDO” OISHDAHAHA - I really wish the spanish subtitles were accurate and I didn’t have to rely on my own shitty spanish to quote these lmao - Not feeling the Ascendancy's voice... effect? filter? idk but i dont feel it - actually no i kinda like it its very spidery

- Unrelated but I just love the shape of UrGoh’s face. Like that little bump in his nose? kiss station. - instead of “when I was young” SkekGra says “when I was beautiful” i know its for rhyme scheme but I just love that so much he looks back on his glory days like “ah i was hot back then”  - every time SkekGra says “eso es” I gain a few years to my lifespan - Bennu’s sweet eyes... bennu’s benevolent smile.. - Rek’yr sounds a lot more scared than defiant when SkekMal threatens him - I love how UrGoh in this dub goes “siiii :)c” after saying things - had to replay to get down any notes because the puppetry scene was so immersive the voice talent here is wonderful!!

- Hups bowing does get me every time - Tavra..,,, is so powerful - “whats good in the gourd is good in the gelfling” doesn’t translate that well but yknow what? as long as we get to hear UrGoh speak i dont care if he’s reciting the alphabet. - Also.... i love him, precious papa packin lunch - SkekMal sounds a lot more pompous when he finds Rian and I kinda dig that- no skeksis is without theatrics! - “que quierno.” *FANS SELF* OH SIR......... beat the SHIT out of me please - hes so bombastic yet THREATENING I love him

- UrVa sounds a lot younger, which I don’t actually mind because like... you can tell from his hair it’s still in the process of graying while other mystics are already white and I think that’s interesting that he both looks and sounds marginally younger than say, UrGoh for example - I just noticed you can see Brea fighting back and struggling while SkekMal takes off - In the scene where the Threaders overrun Stone-In-The-Wood, you see a gelfling hidden inside get taken over. I just realized that because he’s inside this probably means he was someone’s caretaker and that hurts me. - they didn’t dub over SkekSo’s cackle and it reminded me how much I love his voice cracks  - god this episode is so good

Listening to the AOR Spanish dub part 2 (ep 4)

(SPOILERS OF COURSE)

- I cant tell if they dubbed over Hup’s singing or not! because they dubbed over his other lines in Podling and the voices sound very similar save for a rasp but perhaps he just doesn’t have it while singing - I wonder why Grotton (es “Grottono/a”) is the only one with a Spanish equivalent while all the other clans are pronounced basically the same in both languages - They didn’t dub over their eating which I think is really funny for some reason. “The sound of these dudes chowing down is TOO GOOD, KEEP IT.” (it was prob to save money but let me joke)

- Again,, the lack of pauses :( Ekt’s “...talk about me!” runs through and it physically hurts me because I love the beat’s emphasis - I just noticed that SkekVar’s lower teeth move when he talks lol - Also his voice is a lot more handsome which I think is mildly unfair i would fight english skekvar’s oink oink sounding ass but i want spanish skekvar to yell @ me lol -  “ ¿ESTÁS CUESTIONANDO MI VALENTÍA?” *fans self* oh SIR,,

- “el perdón es de pusilánimes” YOOOO I LOVE how they kept the alliteration in “forgiveness is for the feeble” - OH I CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR URVA - once again, skektek’s lack of expression hurt an iconic line. “SIRE!? Sire...” there was like... no difference in how he said that and that Hurts Me - I like how right as I type that the entire scene with him and SkekSo is delivered perfectly I guess I gotta eat my words lol

- Unrelated to voices but I just love how you can kind of see through SkekSil’s beak when the light hits it just right, it really helps make it look like its made of keratin - THERE HE IS, MI NOVIO SALVAJE  - THERE HE IS, MI NOVIO TIERNO  - oh his voice is beautiful!!! urva osjhvbn,,,, - on an unrelated note the BEST Aughra voice is the french dub i found that out out of curiosity wondering what UrVa in other dubs sounded like.

- I HAVE TO PAUSE BEFORE HEARING SKEKMALS VOICE BECAUSE I AM SO OVERWHELMED I NEED A SECOND - ok it didnt knock my socks but it still slaps -  His voice is EXTREMELY gravelly and very spot on -  SKEKSILS WHINING IS SO GOOD OISDBCXN his voice actor is so TALENTED - i just love how SkekMal’s nose moves when he sniffs - gurjin.........sir - SkekSo’s voice is so commanding and strong I literally eat it right up ugh - can i just say I LOVE how Lore just catches his literal heart, soul, and brain in his mouth like a seal pup catchin a sardine? - SKEKGRA TIME I NEED A MOMENT ONCE AGAIN - JESUS CHRIST LMAO WHY IS HIS VOICE SO DEEP - man I wanna turn up w podlings so bad - Naia ily

Listening to the AOR Spanish dub part 1 (ep1-3)

(SPOILERS, OF COURSE)

- Tavra’s voice is SO BEAUTIFUL - They all moan a lot less, which I like - Deet sounds WAY older. Which is not a bad thing and I actually like a lot its so soothing WEEPS - Ordon, Onica and SkekOk’s voices I prefer in english, only because Ordon sounds a lot more grand/commanding and Ok’s voice is a lot more timid and wobbling in the english dub, same with Onica’s being more soft and expressive - The same problem with most Spanish dubs of english shows applies: more words means they usually have to cram more in/talk faster. They also went for very direct translations, which doesn’t help it very much. Tek’s voice isn’t quite as expressive as it could be.

- Rian’s voice is so cute oh gosh. Also Sil, Zok, and Lach’s voices are spot on. - VLISTE STABA’S VOICE IS SO MUCH COOLER - Maudra Argot sounds like my tia I would die for her - They used like. an actual child for Bobbin’s voice he sounds 10000% less annoying - Uh oh SkekSo’s voice is hot. also i LOVE the way SkekSil’s annunciations with everything he says this is such a good little quirk - Hup’s voice is very fun - I have so many mixed feelings abt Seladon’s voice on one hand its perfect. But whistling S’s make my misophonia go apeshit - I’m really excited to hear SkekMal he’s nowhere near arriving but I’m so excited.  - I love the gelfling who run’s the order of lesser service  - Unrelated Seladon is so pretty I have to just mention that again

- Also unrelated but rewatching this made me really wonder about Spriton-Stonewood relations. The desc.s say they’re feuding clans, but all of their interactions seem on really good terms so I wonder about the specifics of that - I just once again have to say how perfect SkekSil’s voice is - Mayrin sounds a lot more tired/dismissive towards Seladon and it REALLY sells the resentment a lot more. She’s a lot more outright insensitive rather than just oblivious like she is in the english dub and I much prefer it. - Fara ily - The spa scene didn’t have the same chaotic energy :( I feel deprived. - Aughra’s voice is growing on me i love it - Also unrelated but I just noticed the Sifan dock is inside a giant ribcage I LOVE that!! - I’M SO EXCITED TO HEAR SKEKGRA

Listening to the AOR Spanish dub part 3 (ep 4-5)

(SPOILERS OF COURSE)

- you never realize how little SkekMal actually talks until you’re trying to hear his voice en español   - also I will never tire of seeing him parkour through the fuckin trees like a madman - oh he wears chiffon? bad gyal tings - WEEPS i love his voice i want him to yell @ me - unrelated to the dub and ive said it before but the muscle definition in his tail WOW - Rian’s voice is so expressive I Lich Rally cannot say this enough - I can’t really compare Ordon’s death to the english version because character deaths never hit me quite the same after watching them once already but I feel like had I seen the Spanish dub first, it would have tugged my heart strings a lot more just the way the delivery is done

- watching SkekMal sharpen his blades really got me feeling like a repressed Victorian tf - ouch you really feel Rian’s fear ouch! The part where chamberlain shows up and starts taunting Rian with Mira’s essence is like. so horrifying ouch - u got glass in ur foot or what? - DEETS SINGING VOICE IS RIDICULOUSLY BEAUTIFUL I PHYSICALLY CANNOT HANDLE IT w e e p s  - when Mayrin says “¡estás haciendo!” i felt that. :(((( 

- Brea getting scolded by her mom felt so much more natural and real to me. Idk if its just bc I’m so used to hearing spanish from my pissed off madre or its the amazing delivery or what but it felt a lot more personal - That entire scene hurt so much.. - Ouch,,, ouch.............. - Rian’s “done with ur shit” face oiugfddcvbnm - YOOOO HOW DID I NOT REMEMBER AUGHRA WAS SAND PAINTING - something I just noticed when Deet goes to Ha’rar, there’s a clearly CGI part where you see gelfling walking around the market. I say clearly CGI not bc its bad or awkward but because they move so fluidly and its SO COOL to see what gelfling “naturally” move like as they would in our world its so cool aaa

- the Vapra lady with the curly hair is so cute her voice is so chipper. I think I remember someone saying she was bitchy?? idk but shes not at all in this dub, very sweet - I love that Lore’s name is translated so I don’t have to get confused as to whether they’re saying Lore or Lord - vigor - Mayrin in the dreamspace hits different - Mayrin standing up to the skeksis REALLY hits different - MAYRIN DYING REALLY REALLY HITS DIFFERENT
