"It's me" would sound comforting from the puppet, a gentle whisper to a scared child, "it's me; I'm your friend, let me help you." "it's me" uttered by the Vengeful Spirit is a threat and a promise of retribution, a reminder of past misdeeds, "it's me; the one you should not have killed, you're never going to rest because I can't either."

Somewhere I think there is a timeline where Old Man Consequences is not an old man. Somewhere I think there is a timeline where Charlotte takes Cassidy by the hands and says to leave the demon to his demons, because deep down both of them know there is nothing more to do.
