thinking about the impact that learning alchemy during key developmental stages of his life had on how ed views pretty much everything. he sees the world alchemically, always breaking things down to the parts they're made up of, which means he can solve complicated puzzles and codes and such with relative ease. i mean, his own alchemic notes are written in a code so complicated not even alphonse ( who knows him better than anyone in the entire world ) can crack it.
