Me: But do I really ship [OT3]? Or do I only like it because my otp is there?
Also me: *goes through the tumblr tag disappointed that there's nothing new. Disappointed at how few fics there are (in comparison of what I'm used to). Doodling them and giggling and not even focusing on the two characters I already shipped. Hell, even wishing fics I like of the otp included the other character*
Me: but surely I'm just faking it.

Hello! Hope you’re well and don’t mind me rambling some thoughts out about both the various iterations 💜 My introduction to the whole beetlejuice universe was the musical, which may play into my bias towards it. There’s a lot I like about it, like the whole Dead Mom aspect made for some compelling discussions with my best friend about childhood emotional neglect— I think the whole theme of grief and invisibility and CEN was actually really good, and I personally like the songs and Alex Brightman’s performance. It’s definitely a different story from the original movie, no doubt no doubt. I also find it ironic that it’s what got me into beetlebabes by starting me out on shipping musicalbabes, when shipping musicalbabes is hard when there’s antis and even the show itself isn’t exactly supportive. Musicalbabes enjoyers who were able to thread the needle or square that circle or whatever… y’all have my respect. And I don’t love that AB’s statement effectively enabled the antis! He really could’ve just said it’s not his cup of tea but that Harassment Bad! (That said, I don’t know how the dots connect leading to him owing Winona Ryder an apology, but that’s just because I don’t know everything and would appreciate enlightenment)
Either way, I’m really happy I watched the movie last week and the sequel today 🤗 The first movie wasn’t entirely my thing but I can see why it’s iconic, and the sequel? That was just made By beetlebabes enjoyers, For beetlebabes enjoyers, and I love that for all of us!
I posted my first beetlebabes fanfic on fanfiction.net in 2008 when I was fourteen years old, if that tells you anything about how long I've been here.
I was never allowed to enjoy the musical. Before a boot was available, ignorant children who had never seen the cartoon or the movie were calling me a pedophile. Needless to say, my taste for it was soured. Nothing I've learned about it since has ever managed to reinspire that initial curiosity.
The facts are that Brightman put on the suit and said what he did and poured gasoline on a fire that didn't need feeding. It's funny to joke that he owes me and Winona an apology, but I don't actually believe in witch hunts. I am interested to see how well his career fares from here on out. It's pretty obvious to me that he's pissed off some important people.
I'm glad the musical could do what it did for you, at least. You should give the cartoon a try.

8. you hope more people will come to appreciate ___ (a ship, a trope, an episode, etc)
The Pontaff era.
No, I'm not saying these games don't have their weakpoints. To claim I ever have would be disingenuous. But really, what makes them different from every other era in Sonic's history? If the Adventure-Black Knight games are free to be vindicated by history in spite of their own non-nitpick drawbacks, including the game that came the closest to actually killing off the franchise, then I don't see what makes these games so much more inexcusable by comparison.
The sensationalist side of the fandom's Pontaff hateboner has always felt performative, as if it's an open secret that it's the cool thing to do. '06 is declared out of bounds because too much time has passed and it's played out, yet they keep harping on a game that will soon be seven years old (Forces), a game that came out over a decade ago (Lost World), and a game that came out over 13 years ago (Colours). Even with Generations, the one that has probably fared the best reception-wise out of the lot, it's not rare to see fans unironically call it a worse anniversary game than '06.
If the Pontaff era of Sonic is not your cup of tea overall, that's fine. It's no different to my lack of enthusiasm for the current Flynn era (Superstars and Dream Team notwithstanding). But no matter how many YouTubers try to convince me with their clickbait thumbnails and their tendency to complain about dragged out jokes while making their own dragged out jokes, I will never buy into this insincere narrative that everything was consistent high times until Colours singlehandedly made the franchise drop off a cliff.
16. a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate
I can't say Eggman's actual characterization because that's not exactly a tiny affair, so... Omega's portrayal when not written by Flynn/Bioware?
17. the thing in canon that everyone loves and that you also love
S3&K
The franchise's history of excellent music
The franchise's history of exploring themes that, regardless of whether the overall execution is good or bad, tend to have more nuance and thoughtfulness put into them than a lot of other, supposedly more mature IPs' interpretations of said themes
The characters we know conceptually but don't necessarily have similar viewpoints on
ShtH being filed in the comedy genre
Sonic faceplanting
25. a piece of advice for taking care of yourself in fandom spaces
Never let anyone assert control of your own experience. You should always be the one to referee your own corner of community interaction, and although polite disagreement and healthy discourse is well and expected, you shouldn't feel the need to continue diving into discourse by virtue of obligation if it makes you miserable after seeing so many terrible takes based on illegitimate reasoning. Block certain tags if you deem it necessary.
You should also not focus on popularity, and not just because it inevitably comes at the cost of being true to yourself and what makes you satisfied. If you remain honest, and respectful, you'll find your true friends in the community soon enough, which are worth far more than a million faceless acquaintances ever will.

Hello, I just want to say, that your goyuu fics are exquisite. I don't know what sort of insight you have for them, but the way you write their interactions in your works feels so canonnicaly accurate to me personally. It's like you're chilling with Gege but in NSFW area, so you're have a deeper understanding of what's going on with characters in different scenarios. I'm joking and don't want to belittle your talents on characterisation of JJK characters, but it's just THAT accurate in my opinion. Also, I've never read that good of a sex/intimacy descriptions which on top of that are various and not repetitive, and trust me on that, I READ A LOT.
I'm also interested if you're considering to write and discover some other pairings, like Sukuita, some rare pairs maybe or you're Goyuu for life? With such skills you have I think you'll do wonderfully and, personally, I would hype your every upcoming work lmfao, because at this point, no matter what you post it qualifies as 💯 out of 💯.
I wish you all the best and great inspiration for your future endeavors with goyuu and other men 😌

I'm adding this to the list of comments/reactions that I want to print out and put in my mouthput on my wall. Thank you so much, anon! This entire ask makes me incredibly happy 💗
It feels especially good to hear this for JJK (Gojou and Yuuji in particular) because I've put more deliberate, sustained effort into the characterization than I have for any of my prior fandoms. Full disclosure, my initial method of "figuring out" a character is to sit down and write them, so serpent tongue and little lamb were how I developed my initial grasp on Gojou and Yuuji, respectively, but since then, it's been a near-constant state of analysis and discussion. I've got a doc devoted just to noting down things and sorting headcanons. It's not my usual style, but something about this narrative and these two make me kinda feral.
The porn style is my usual fare these days, but it's never any less of a delight to know it's being enjoyed!
To answer your question about other ships—I am! JJK has turned me into more of a multishipper than I ever was, at least when it comes to Yuuji. Might be a problem, actually, how much I ship Yuuji. Gojou/Yuuji is my main ship, and everything I write has that in it, but I've also dabbled in Chōsō/Yuuji, Nanami/Yuuji, and Sukuna/Yuuji, with plans for a few more. Most of my goyuu+ ideas are for nanaita and sukuita, but a bunch of others also feature.
If you want details, I've posted them under the read more here: https://voxofthevoid.tumblr.com/post/741705299793149952/youre-well-known-to-be-a-fantastic-goyuu-author
Thanks so much again!
