Persona romance routes are all pretty bad but damn they really hit rock bottom with p3p femc route like the misogyny is very blatant and it’s almost hilarious like look at the Shinjiro romance. When you do his social link he’s like very clearly respectful of Kotone as a leader and explicitly says stuff like "oh yeah you’re clearly the best fighter we have, I don’t really know much about fighting like you do, I hope I’m not dragging you down, you’re doing a good job as leader just remember to take care of yourself, everyone looks up to you I know you can rely on them" etc. like he has faith in her leading abilities. But then when you romance him he’s like got dialogue like "bwah bluh i gotta look after you because you’re a GIRL and you need to stick by me, a big strong MAN so you don’t get hurt" and "don’t wear that revealing outfit in front of other guys 👺" and it’s like. Does he respect her or not and also like it doesn’t make sense for him to look down on her for being a girl cuz he literally has never not been led by a girl leader during his time in sees and Mitsuru in particular really has her shit together when it comes to being responsible and a good fighter and she’s always known the most about Tartarus

It’s also like. Idk maybe its just me I’m not a girl so FUCK IF I KNOW but to me the appeal of romancing Shinji is the fact that he’s sweet and sensitive and gentle and has respect for you despite the fact that he acts all scary. That’s like, what made me like this character in the first place. But the writers seem to think what women want is for a BIG STRONG MAN to protect them because they are just DELICATE WOMEN who are inferior in every way it’s like. Shut upppp thanks

minato: i think minato's the type who will pretty much eat anything, but secretly has a very very VERY selective group of foods that he actually Prefers. to him most cakes are meh, he'll eat them i guess. but i think he likes pistachio cake above all else.

kotone: this is a bit of a cop out answer but i can't not say strawberry. either a strawberry flavored batter or a shortcake/vanilla cake with strawberries on top. i think she would love either of them equally. maybe i am just brainwashed by the pink aesthetic but strawberry cake kotone all the way.

yukari: red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. but it's a sometimes food for her bc its super rich and decadent so she only lets herself have a slice

junpei: pound cake enjoyer. i think he prefers candy to cakes when it comes to sweets/desserts, but if you offer up a slice of pound cake he will hop right on that shit.

akihiko: we know he likes pancakes, but those aren't really cakes in a traditional sense, so i think i'll say a cinnamon or maple flavored coffee cake. pancake-like taste, not super thick or rich, and more crumbly than spongey, so i think he'd prefer them to other cakes.

mitsuru: i am only SLIGHTLY saying this because its just a bougie sounding cake, but... black forest cake. augh. i think she loves chocolate and she loves cherry and if you mix those things together you get her right in the weak spot fr.

fuuka: hmmm i think the obvious option is a "fruit cake" (as in, a vanilla cake with fruit toppings) like the one she makes in her social link, but she strikes me more as a lemon poppy seed cake fan. maybe carrot cake as well.

aigis: poor babygirl is a robot but if not i think she'd like angel food cake :)

ken: says he doesn't like cakes because sweets are for little kids, secretly a huge fan of them. i think he likes plain chocolate cake with vanilla or chocolate icing

You wanna elaborate on Junpei and Shinjiro's dynamic? I've always assumed them to have done some off-screen bonding since Junpei was ready to throw hands at Shinjiro's memorial service.

this i can do. it is a super good point u brought up about junpei snapping during the memorial service. i must be honest and say it’s p3 dancing that made me think of them as close tho. i love how they interact in that game, along w how happy shinji generally seems to be 😭

shinjiro telling him he’s too damn loud is one thing but it’s the tone in which he says it that always gets me. u would think junpei has just immediately caused him a headache and pain and irritation and ruined his entire vibe by being loud one single time. thats sibling realness to me…

havent played p3 in a minute so i feel like im making things up forgive me BUT junpei also thinks shinjiro is a badass methinks ???? sorry i cannot remember. anyways. its true to me regardless. i love the thought of junpei looking up to him in that way.

as for how they would have possibly bonded off screen, i think it’s obvious that junpei is very straightforward and loves to just talk, so i don’t think it would be very hard for him to start casual conversations with shinjiro. i don’t think shinjiro intimidates him either iirc ?? so he’d very easily just yap at him i think. tho i cannot imagine for the life of me what junpei would open with.

just remembered, shinjiro also makes a comment in reload about junpei (“where’d his game go?”) so i think it’s very funny to imagine junpei going to shinji of all people for relationship advice and somehow convincing shinjiro that he knew what the hell he was doing at all (considering he has a girlfriend, i suppose he does know what he’s doing). tho it’s funny, and a bit sweet, that shinji imagines junpei charming enough to have game, and expresses his disappointment when he seems to have lost it LOL

despite the fact that it seems like junpei is definitely someone who would irk shinjiro, i actually think they would get along pretty well. of course it makes sense that shinji would get irritated time to time, that’s just how grumpy he is, i feel like he would actually appreciate junpei and mostly enjoy being around him. ive always liked to picture junpei getting him to play like. fighting games. and junpei gets destroyed every time. shinji is totally very humble about it. hes totally not competitive and totally doesnt care about winning. junpei totally doesnt accuse him of cheating even tho theyre sitting right next to each other and he can see his inputs.

(junpei would say they r brothers from other mothers & shinjiro would act like his whole day is ruined)
