this is what riverdale is about (part 6)
part 1
part 2
part 3
part 4
part 5
and now...we come to the end of our journey...the final 4 episodes of the season. who killed jason blossom? you forgot thatâs what we were doing, huh. you were way too distracted by sex archie and the jughead/betty relationship (called âbugheadâ in universe).Â
i have a friend who has been watching riverdale because i have basically tricked him into doing so and frankly, what i am typing here was and is only the surface of this showâs nonsense. as he watched episodes, he reminds me of all the completely bananas shit that this show throws at you literally every second it is on screen and honestly its a relief to know that, as much as i can try to just give you some basic facts, watching the show itself is still a totally different transcendent experience. its really the only show of its kind; shamelessly stupid but unaware of it while openly delighting in all the silliest cliches presented as straight faced as possible. if these write up do anything for you at all, please, please. watch the show. you will be shocked at how much more there is to discover.

SEASON 1 (PART 4):Â
the lost weekend: this is the one with a very special guest star in it: molly ringwald as archieâs mom! she and fred (luke perry) have been separated for some amount of time for an unknown reason. yay sheâs so cute! i love her. oh uh, also theyâre getting a divorce. the papers are going through. archie gets the bad news in the middle of a gaming sesh with jughead.
meanwhile, veronica meets with her dadâs lawyer (whose name is paul sowerberry?? he never shows up again despite his unbelievably silly name) and tells him sheâs not giving him a good statement as to her fatherâs character to help him get a lesser sentence. âfuck you dad!â is the general sentiment before she stomps out to go to school.
oh man thereâs a weird aspect of this show that i have neglected to mention. this isnât something iâve ever experienced in school so it was totally foreign and weird to me but the students have their own lounge that they mingle and talk in...at...some point during the school day?? jugheadâs opening monologue of this episode makes great pains to talk about how every moment of their lives are scheduled from 8am to 3pm but thereâs apparently plenty of sittinâ time where they can just laze about this random room talking about crimes they have or are going to commit. a great deal of talking happens in this room when usually youâd have to like, sneak a convo while getting shit out of your locker between classes. i dunno, itâs weird. this is where archie tells veronica about clifford blossom sending her dad to jail so he can jack the land everyone is fighting over.
archie and betty make plans to celebrate jugheads birthday by taking him to the movies, which i feel like is in poor taste given his movie house was just destroyed but whatever. with betty coming along itâll be just like the three muskateers! betty replies âAcTuAlLy ThErE wErE fOuR mUsKeTeErSâ and somehow he doesnât beat her to death with his bookbag right there and then. betty then doubles down on the bad words flowing out of her mouth and proposes they hold a surprise party for jughead since, according to his dad, heâs never had one. i have no idea what would compel her to think he would want this. even i know he doesnât want this and i only know him through a tv screen. on top of this she goes out of her way to invite his deadbeat alcoholic dad multiple times. i thought she was supposed to be the smart, observant nancy drew type but like...what the fuck betty. jughead does, in fact, get pretty pissed at archie just for telling his girlfriend that he even has a birthday. presumably instead of telling him he emerged fully formed from the leader of the black paradeâs forehead.
after finding out from some files that her dad was receiving money monthly from clifford blossom for some unspecified reason before the arrest, veronica challenges cheryl to a dance off and wins. unfortunately, veronica cant come forward with what she knows because it would make it look like her dad put a hit out on jason in retaliation. dance off to relieve the pain.
jughead fucking hates his party and makes sure everyone knows it. this is something NORMAL people do and he is NOT normal!!! he leaves the party in a huff when cheryl shows up to get her dance off revenge by ruining the party by inviting the whole school. this is the episode where he does his famous âim a weirdo, i have a hatâ speech, which is deliciously dumb. they get in a fight, while jugheadâs dad talks to kevinâs boyfriend (who you will remember is a member of his gang he assigned to keep tabs on the progress of the teens looking into the whole land plot mess) while bettyâs mom secretly listens in?!
cheryl activates chaos mode and locks everyone in the house so they can play a game called âsecrets and sinsâ which is really just an excuse for her to ask everyone horrible questions to make them feel bad. veronica accuses cheryl of fucking her brother, dilton doiley tells everyone about grundyâs statutory rape of archie andrews and chuck tells everyone about dark mode betty drugging him for an impromptu bdsm session which causes jughead to go apeshit and try to throw a weak little baby punch. jugheadâs dad, as the only adult who for some reason let all this happen, finally throws everyone out and tells them to go home.
archie and veronica sleep together, by which i mean, next to each other in the same room. veronica testifies on her fatherâs behalf and discloses to betty the link between jugheads dad and the serpents and her dadâs land plot dreams. molly ringwald appears for 20 seconds.
INHALES. OKAY.
to riverdale and back again: its homecoming babey! archieâs very supportive mother has a nice talk with him. :) veronica founds out that her dad only has to serve âa few more monthsâ in prison for his various white collar crimes, further proof that riverdale takes place in america. jughead and his dad have a nice normal breakfast while fp sweats and asks him âhey uh, how come uh youâre writing about the uhhhh murder and investigating it and stuffâ like a normal dad would. archie and veronica tentatively agree to start going out.Â
penelopy blossom brings polly (bettyâs pregnant sister, remember her? i didnât) a strawberry milkshake in the most ominous way possible. veronica plans to sneakily find out if jugheadâs dad is helping her own and for what purpose, ultimately. jughead accepts and invite to bettyâs house for dinner, not knowing her mom is going to grill the shit out of him and his dad over the whole kid murder thing.
polly finds the ring jason proposed to her with back in penelopeâs room while snooping, and has no idea how it wound up back in the hands of his mother. according to penelope, jason threw it in their face when he renounced his lineage, then gives her another milkshake.
the cooper family event is disrupted when betty, wise to her motherâs horseshit, invites her estranged dad to dinner too. all hell breaks loose when the subject of homecoming comes up and fp reveals that while alice and hal were crowned homecoming king and queen, they got in a knockout, drag-out fight backstage. alice flips out before he can reveal what it was about and betty and jughead flee for the dance. meanwhile archie and veronica try, and fail, to find something incriminating in fpâs trailer.
cheryl discovers the milkshakes are DRUGGED and polly is going to sleep through homecoming. she informs her parents that she has disposed of the ring (evidence) and they dont have to worry about it anymore. you can see where this is going.
jugheadâs dad drops a bomb on him right before homecoming that theyâre going to move to toledo to meet up with jugheadâs mom and baby sister. jughead hates this bc he just got used to betty and he wants to write his murder book.
archie and veronica sing a truly terrible cover of âkids in americaâ that has to be seen to be believed.
youtube
meanwhile, sherrif keller tears up fpâs house with a search warrant and finds the gun that was used to kill jason blossom. WHAAAA??? BUT ARCHIE AND VERONICA JUST SEARCHED IT??? how could this happen.....jughead finds out about the web of deception weaved by the friends and tells them all to fuck off so he can go to toledo with his family. jughead literally turns around and is informed that his dad was just arrested for murder. his life is so hilariously bad.
the sheriff sucks so bad at his job because he tells his gay son everything who then spills the beans to archie and co (sans jughead) who learn that fp is being framed, because they already tossed the place before.
cheryl has the ring. at this point none of these things mean anything.
i cant believe i still have two more of these. iâm going to have to split this post after this one.
anatomy of a murder: as it turns out, archie discovers, information you discover during a breaking and entering wonât hold up in court. oops. meanwhile fp inexplicably confesses to kidnapping jason after his fake drowning at sweetwater river so he could use him as ransom after discovering he heir to all that sweet maple syrup money. according to fp, jason nearly escaped so they cut their losses and blasted a hole in him. he also confesses to torching the car and stealing the sheriff's files (which we, the audience, know hal cooper did, not fp). well. thatâs that, i guess.
bettyâs dad comes back to the family home to destroy the murderboard evidence all like âwhoo hoo! fp took a bullet for me!â halâs concern and his reason for stealing the files in the first place, as it turns out, was because the feud between the coopers and the blossoms is more complicated than we thought. the coopers WERE blossoms, until grand-pappy was murdered, so they packed their shit and left with a new name. so that makes polly and jason related. cool!
fp apparently used his his last phone call to call kevinâs boyfriend who, after some pressing by the gang, admits that while he didnt see fp pull the trigger, he did help him put jasonâs body in a freezer. this tip leads them to the corpse of a serpent who had a sack of money in a monogrammed dufflebag with the initials âh.l.â (hiram lodge). this is a comically dumb move for a crime boss to make. it is shockingly stupid.
joaquin tells kevin about a secret stash he and fp set up before he bounces from town forever because riverdale sucks. in the stash is jasonâs jacket. everyone puzzles over what it means until betty, noted brain genius checks the pockets. in it they find a usb drive.
they sit down and watch the usb and react like theyâre watching a sad documentary and not a snuff film. betty calls CHERYL OF ALL PEOPLE and tells her what they just saw on the usb. cheryl, queen of chaos, confronts her dad and tells him that everyone knows what he did.
it turns out the video depicts jason tied up in the basement of the whyte wyrm, there the dead serpent watches over him. clifford blossom walks in and blows a hole in his kid. fp confessed to protect jughead, who was threatened by cliff as the heat poured on.
clifford dies surrounded by his greatest love, maple syrup, by hanging himself in the syrup barn. lol
the sweet hereafter: how the fuck is there another episode of this? they solved the murder, what else could there possibly be to do. wtf. anyway.
the cops find hella drugs in the maple barn after cliffordâs death. the assumed story is that jason learned about his dadâs heroin smuggling business and threatened to tell the cops on his dad which lead to his abduction, and eventual death. i guess the polly thing is in here too somehow. not important i guess. the lodges prepare for hiramâs arrival. betty and archie are going to be honored by the mayor for cracking the case at the 75th annual jubilee (wtf). hermoine attempts to buy fred out of the project now that the cops are cracking down on the serpents and making them the face of the construction company is now a very bad look.
betty tries to write an article for the town paper about fp being innocent but her parents wont publish it, citing it as a conflict of interest given sheâs smooching the subjectâs son. jughead FINALLY JUT NOW gets a social worker who realizes that fred has a dui and is not fit to care for a kid. he has to transfer to a new school district...SOUTHSIDE HIGH SCHOOL!!!
cheryl apologizes for throwing hands at jughead in a previous ep and gives him her iconic spider brooch. i am only bringing this up because she says, specifically, that selling it will net him a good amount of hamburgers and âs t-shirtsâ for years. why is she the only one who notices he only wears one kind of shirt. bettyâs article getting published in the school paper leads to the above retaliation.
veronicaâs mom honest to god asks her to sexually manipulate archie into convincing his dad to sell the project to her.
bettyâs mom, after a confrontation, tells betty abt the fight she and her dad had on homecoming night when they were high schoolers. turns out...alice was pregnant. she gave the baby up for adoption after she went to the sisters of quiet mercy, like she did with polly, even though hal wanted an abortion. betty immediately tells all her friends this shit.
jughead transfers to the new high and flourishes. turns out theyâre all baby gangsters there so they look at him and his dad as kings to be admired. when the archie group heads off to go rescue him, it turns out they dont need to do anything. but now that theyre all conveniently together, veronica gets a txt from cheryl saying sheâs going to go be with jason....
they rush to the river where cheryl is having her ophelia meltdown in his stupid little river boat dress where she punches through the ice until she falls through. theres no way to describe how silly this scene is unless you see it so i wonât try but its so melodramatic and cheesy that youre going to be amazed that it got through the writing team at all. archie saves her by punching through the ice the other way. from under the ice. you will soon find, that all of archieâs solutions are to punch things.
betty does a speech at the jubilee that convinces fred not to sell. a nice ending for him.
meanwhile cheryl burns her fucking house down for a lark. just for the drama of it all.Â
the same night, jughead and betty start to fuck, as do veronica and archie. not int he same room, like totally separately. but jughead is interrupted by the serpents and a dog named hotdog, who give him a jacket of his own so he can join the team. betty is scandalized.
archie goes to meet his father for a breakfast at popâs chocklit shoppe for a serious talk. but while heâs int he bathroom, a man with a gun is holding up the chocklit shoppe. he demands fredâs wallet, then pops a hole in him and runs off.
and that.........is where this season......ends.

Riverdale 3X11
Sorry for the delay, i was sick for 2 days and of course, my first reflex when i get better, is to watch riverdale.
1)Â Ok, I'm really sharing Archie's actions because true, the poor guy has to eat his share of shit but how much do I have the right to call his illogical actions?
2)Â Veronica's speakeasy sells alcohol to the minor?
3)Â OMG Josie is your 2nd good selfless action in 3 seasons. Slow clap everyone.(Iâm a little disappointed that you have not played the card of his father having himself had problems of addiction).
4) Archie, the nice black girl musician with cat ears you dated was Valerie, not Josie. To say that the two are alike is like saying that Cheryl and Ethel can pass for twins.(But I'd love to see Val and Melody again as long as we have it).
5)Â Josie and Sweet peas parted? Not that it was important because I do not like neither of them and I did not care about the ship but I try to remember who date who unlike the authors.
6)Â Betty, your word is worth even more than Penelope's and you date the son of the sheriff + your best friend's mother is the mayor + your pile of evidence. It will take 10 minutes to condemn her.
7) Oh cry me a sweet river! Sorry for your bad childhood Penelope, but you are a murderer so only half of the victims were prove worthy to die in public opinion, you are a homophobic abusive mother who beat, tortured, ready to sell your daughter's body and who had strongly incestuous feelings towards your son. You were ready to let families get blown up (southside) and I say bullshit to your brothel that empower women. Even if your girls have whips, you can still explode them by keeping pictures to make them sing, pay them a pittance or hide the worst of your actions (who knows if there are no minor girls or follow each other in a back room)? Also, it does not help that Nana Rose who bought you is still present as the token good of your family.
8) Your childhood sucks too Hal? Well, cry me a river 2 : the Return! You forced your wife to abandon her child, you tried to force your daughter to abort (I am pro-choice aka it's the choice of the girl with the zygote in her belly to keep it or not!), The same girl that you have basically denied, has a really creepy feeling towards your second daughter, you are a hypocrypt who would judge the girl to be pregnant with her cousin whom she did not ignore was her cousin (and clearly disgusted when she learned) while you fuck your own cousin without remorse.Your sinful victims, had exactly 2 guilty people in the eye of social opinion: miss fake grundy the pedophile and what is name the deadler drug teacher.Your other three victims were not-jesus aka Fred Andrew who committed the terrible crime of sleeping with a married woman (what almost all the parents did to the point that they should just get swingers parties), Moose who is a teenager who likes to cheat on his partner and take drugs and Midge to also take drugs and maybe give the money back to her boyfriend who has deceived her with everything that moves (I know, she was sacrificing to the Otp Moose X Kevin like Joaquim, but still). Your only quality now is to be a better parent than Alice (and that's mostly because of her own sabotage).
9)To conclude: No, Penelope and Hal are not innocent misunderstood victims who have horrible things due to the circumstances: FP, Alice before season 3, Sierra, Sherrif Keller, Fred and maybe Hermione fits this description better.
10)Â Veronica in mafia baby, I LOVE IT!Â
11) Sorry guys, but Veggie is growing on me (lame pund, sorry too) . It looks like they are the opposite of Choni (Reggie gains personality while Toni loses it).
12)Â Uh ... Cheryl you did not really like your uncle after the first 24h and really, you want Betty to leave your mother alone? The same mother who abused you physically, mentally and emotionally, forced you to do conversion therapy, murder your father, your uncle, try to kill your grandmother, accept money to stop you from to prosecute your rapist, slut shamer, whom you have twice threatened to kill yourself and to make it necessary to give your independence? Is it because Betty is still a Serpent and not you? Because it's really stupid and hurts you more than Betty.
13)Toni, have you had a lobotomy since you dated Cheryl? Because you seem to exist only as sexy edgy girlfriend accessory for Cheryl with no other personality than: Cheryl is so right. Even Bughead's worst was at this point bad. A shame, because I loved this ship and I wish more and more to see it disappear if it means that you find a personality.
14)Â Okay, Jughead, why not just say, Hey dad, do you remember when you find yourself with a corpse to get off?Well, like father like son, I suppose. Ps I still like the ways they fix the situation honestly
15) OMG, Sweet Peas you have helpful for the first time since you were on Riverdale. I still do not love you and think that you cause more problems than anything but it's greast, I give you that!
16) Ok, corrupt Sheriff is alive but Joaquim, Midge, Dilton are still dea...Oh, never mind. We at least know the moral alignment of Hermione now.
17)Â What are we done with maybe Hiram's mistress? I'm not even sure if I can call it that because some clue implies that Hermione just referred to her like that to hide her true motive.
18) Bravo show, seeing Jughead and Veronica talking together, I forgot the Dawson casting and had the impression to see children playing at film noir. It was surprisingly cute.
19) I'm that I bitch a lot but I actually really like this episode. It was fun and interesting, let watch the preview for see if the next one gonna be good too...WTF are you going to Kevin, Moose????!!!!!

Bbz I just wanted to tell you that i binge read all your Kevin & Sherrif Keller fics and you write their father/son relationship so well I love it đ I especially love Protective Daddy Keller, I hope you have a few more stories up your sleeve đ
Thank you, anon! I really appreciate you stop by and giving me this comment. To tell you the truth, I canât help but feel a little bit self-conscious about my fic, so itâs nice to know there are people who are out there enjoying it. My day is always made when readers tell me that my stories mean something to them.
I love writing protective!Tom where Kevin is concerned, and if I have a fic that includes both characters, I always try to make sure to incorporate once of those moments. If you like a particular kind of those moments, like Tom protecting Kevin from someone else or Kevin not eating due to the stress of the recent events, let me know.
Also, Iâll try to write up a âbehind the scenesâ explanation of how a few Kevin and Tom fics came to be.Â
And of course, Iâll always be writing protective!Tom stories about Kevin. And again, I really appreciate you letting me know you enjoy them. I hope to have a few more fics out shortly! :)

âCâmon...son of a...â Betty grunted as she twisted the bolt into place. Often times, when faced with a dilemma, the blonde found herself tinkering with her Grandfatherâs 1941 Ford F1 pickup blaring her favorite playlist consisting of the Beastie Boys, the Ramones, Bruce Springsteen and other greats.Â
But not today, no, today she was just spending her day off in the garage of her rented town-home. Nope, she wasnât bothered by anything this breezy November afternoon. Certainly not by some boy...guy. Man. Person-thing!Â
Betty frowned as she mounted the clutch plate. Who did Jughead Jones think he was, turning her away like she was a high school freshman asking a senior to the prom? Sure heâs the leader of a notorious biker gang and yes, he had a reputation of being a philanderer, but did that mean they couldnât be friends?Â
In all honesty, Betty didnât know why she was so upset. Apart from the previous night, sheâd scarcely spoken two paragraphs to the man. It was just as well, she thought. There was no room in her life for a Shakespeare reading, high and mighty, narcissistic prick fluent in sarcasm. Traveling contracts only lasted 13 weeks after all, and only eleven were left to go (With the eager offer from hospital administration to stay permanently), there wasnât a point in making...friends.Â
With the garage stereo blaring The Rolling Stones, the off-duty nurse practitioner spent the next several hours crancking and wrenching and slotting under the hood of her Paâs old truck.Â
By the time she realized it, 8:30 p.m. had rolled around. Deciding to call it a night, Betty pack up her tools and spare parts, then headed directly to the shower in hopes of getting at least some of the grease off her skin. In a fortunate turn of events, her best friend Kevin Keller was in town visiting his dad (The Sherrif) and theyâd made plans for dinner at Popâs before she dropped him off at the airport about an hour away for his return flight to Chicago.Â
Sheâd always worn scrubs to the bar, but tonight Betty Cooper was going to make Jughead Jones eat his heart out...subtly, of course. Donning her favorite pair of skinny jeans, a form fitting white t-shirt under her favorite flannel and heeled ankle boots, she looked especially good. After blow drying her hair and applying the slightest amount of make-up, she grabbed her keys and her khaki flack jacket and headed for her favorite booth at Popâs.Â
âI still havenât forgiven you for leaving Chicago.â Kevin stated, his blue-green eyes narrowed playfully and Betty couldnât stop her smile. âWe had so much fun! Why did you ruin it to come back home, of all places? You and I both know how much it sucks coming back here. I mean, really Betts. You were like a kid in a candy shop working at that trauma center. Makes no sense.â
âRiverdale Hospital needed the help.â She said. âPlus itâs been a while since Iâve seen the twins and Polly. Lord knows my mother cannot be trusted to offer any help without providing her unsolicited opinions.â
Kevin shared her shudder. âOkay, fair point. So where will you go next? Please say New York? Iâm staying with Veronica and Archie while Iâm there for the Hamilton tour production meetings.â
âMaybe, weâll see.â Betty winked. âIâm really enjoying the hospital here, actually. Iâve got so much more freedom at a non-for-profit hospital versus the university hospitals. Doctors are more laid back, the staff is friendlier, the hours are better. Iâve got to say, itâs rather tempting.â
âYes, but youâd also inadvertently become a social pariah with no hope of finding a man anywhere near your level. All thatâs left here are closeted husbands and construction workers. Unless thereâs a hot MD thatâs caught your eye?â
âWell, I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice, so I guess I that makes me the hot doctor.â
Kevin smirked, raising his red velvet milkshake in a toast. âLong may you reign, Doctor Nurse Betty.â
At 10:30 p.m. she dropped Kevin off at the airport with the promise of weekly FaceTimeâs and a hug she wanted to sink into forever. By the time she got back to Riverdale from the airport, it was midnight. Parking in the same spot she was instructed to each time, three blocks away from the Whyte Wyrm, Betty spied a familiar Serpent waiting on his bike.Â
âHey Betty.â Joaquin smiled, handing her the extra helmet.âLooking good.â
âThanks!â Smiling, she slung her medical bag across her shoulders and climbed onto the bike, wrapping her arms tightly around Joaquinâs waist. The trip lasted all of two minutes, but Betty still loved the thrill of the ride. Maybe sheâd look into learning to ride herself. Oh, to see the look on her motherâs face!
Once the pair dismounted, they entered the bar.Â
âHey, Betty!â
âAye, Coop!â
A wolf whistle sounded. âLooking good there, Nurse Betty!â
The blonde smiled and waved at the Serpents who greeted her, it was a full house tonight; Betty had to turn sideways to get through all the bodies as she tried to follow close behind Joaquin.Â
Suddenly, a loud raucous stirred at the pool tables and several people were pushing around to get a view (or get in on the fighting). Before she even had the chance to get through, Betty was unceremoniously knocked off her feet, a yelp of surprise escaped her lips. Â
But impact never came; sheâd fallen into a pair of warm arms, lean and muscular, the left covered in a giant snake tattoo sleeve. He smelled of cologne and tobacco and oak.Â
âAlright there, Betts?â Her saviorâs voice rumbled in her ears.Â
Of course it was Jughead, because her life was just one big soap opera of predictability.Â
âIâm good.â Thankful her voice wasnât shaking. âYou can ah, let me go now. Iâm okay.â
Betty had not meant to look into is dark blue eyes, at some point she has turned in his arms, her hands on his chest. Jugheadâs arms wrapped around her waist.Â
The...embrace, for lack of a better word, had lasted mere seconds, but felt like an eternity. It was almost as if they were the only two in the room and a bar fight had not just erupted around them.Â
The sound of shattering glass broke their reverie. Betty watched as Jugheadâs expression went from pensive to peeved in an instant.Â
âI need to take care of this, go upstairs. Iâll meet you there.â He instructed in a clipped tone. The blonde felt uneasy, as if she were the reason he was angry when his grip around her tightened at the rising volume..
âJug, truly, Iâm alright.âÂ
His resolve didnât seem to waiver. âGo on. Iâll be up in a minute.âÂ
Not wanting to poke the beast, Betty excised herself from his hold and went straight to the stairs. Joaquin had waited at he last step, watching her with eager curiosity. Betty knew that look, it was the same Kevin had when sheâd spoken to any mildly attractive male.Â
âSo, you and Jug?â He asked conspiratorially as they made their way up the stairs to Alexâs room. Â
âJughead and I what?â She feigned ignorance.Â
âOh donât play coy, you could cut the sexual tension with a knife.â
Betty gaped at Joaquin, who in turn looked extremely amused.Â
âYou could do a lot worse, you know. Heâs rough around the edges, but Jugâs a good guy.âÂ
âTouching as your efforts are to get your friend into my panties, I should inform you that Jughead doesnât wish, in fact he expressly said that he wanted only to have a professional relationship with me.â
âDid he really say that?â
âMmmhmm, said he was a good judge of character and that a friendship between us would not be in my best interest.â
âWell if thatâs the case, you should seriously consider suing for unwarranted sexual advances in the work place because baby, he looked at you like you were the only girl in the room.â Joaquin said.
Betty frowned as they reached Alexâs door. âI want a new chaperone.â
Joaquin merely grinned and took up his usual position of standing guard outside of the room.Â
Alex was asleep, no doubt due to painkillers. Completely absorbed in her task (an involuntary switch went off in her head, changing her state of mind she fondly referred to as Nurse Mode), Betty had failed to notice Jughead had entered the room, seating himself in the chair beside the door watching her every move. It wasnât until she looked up after finishing the dressing change and throwing away the used supplies that she noticed him looking at her.Â
Looking at her like she was the light on and he was coming home. Butterflies erupted in her stomach, her palms going clammy despite the draftiness of the apartment.Â
âDone?â He asked tonelessly.Â
Betty nodded, not trusting her voice. They ambled quietly down the narrow stairs, she was acutely aware of how close they were. When they reached the bottom stair, Betty found it to be quieter than before. The music turned down to a bearable octave, Serpents and patrons alike chatting quietly and sharing low rumbles of laughter.Â
âSee ya, Nurse Betty.â Sweet Pea winked from his spot at the poker table, earning a smack upside the head from Tall Boy. âOw! Hey!â
âMind yer Manners.â The older, wiser Serpent snapped. âLater, Betty.â
âBYE BETTY!â The bar choursed. The blonde blushed, waving sweetly with a happy smile before Jughead opened the door and lead her out.Â
âSeems youâre popular around here.â Jughead chided, but Betty wasnât in the mood for teasing, not from him.Â
âTheyâre good people.â She smiled benignly.Â
The pair were quiet for the first block, but Betty could tell Jughead was uneasy. Every ten paces or so she would notice his eyes flit to her then back forward.Â
Hello awkwardness my old friend, Betty mused. Good. She hoped he felt weird after rejecting her friendship 25 hours and 32 minutes ago. Not that she was counting, or anything.Â
âYou look nice tonight.â
The blonde was sure that sheâd given herself whiplash. Had Jughead Jones just...complimented her?
âEr, thank-you. I met a friend for dinner before coming here.â As if sheâd get gussied up to see Kevin, her best friend was luck if Betty was out of her pajamas before they hung out.
âOh? One of the four?â He was teasing her again.
Well, two could play at that game. Unable to control it, a light laugh escaped her lips. âYes, he made the cut.â
The nurse didnât miss the way he tensed at the use of the male pronoun.Â
âAnd?â He probed.Â
âAnd...what?âÂ
âDid the evening go well?â He asked evenly. Was he annoyed, angry or hurt? Betty gave up trying to decipher Jugheadâs moods.Â
âYeah, of course. We went to Popâs just like old times.â
âSo heâs from RIverdale?â
She nodded. âIâve known Kevin Keller my whole life, we lived together while I was working at that trauma center in Chicago. Heâs an ensemble director.â
âKeller? As in Sherrif Kellerâs kid?â The Serpent King asked as they reached the second block.Â
âYes, his only son. I take it youâve met the good Sherrif?â Betty smirked playfully.
Jughead matched her smirk. âOn occasion.â
It was no secret the Sherrifâs boy was gay, everyone knew it. She watched his body language relax, no longer throwing out a line of questioning. They were quiet again for the rest of the second block, it was less ominously suffocating than the last silence.Â
âI never thanked you.â Dark blue eyes gazing at her intently. âFor what youâve done for Alex, for protecting the Serpents.â
âIâm happy to help.âÂ
âStill, I know youâre risking a lot.â He continued. âWe...I, appreciate it.â
âAnyone else wouldâve have done the same.â
âNo, they wouldnât have.â Jughead said with a hint of admiration. âIf there is ever anything you need, Serpents pay their debts.â
Betty let out a humorless laugh, they were well into the third block.Â
âWhy canât you accept that I donât want anything from you? All I ever wanted from you was your friendship but I guess helping Alex and protecting your anonymity doesnât warrant such benevolent from the Serpent King.â
Theyâd reached her car, Betty unlocked the trunk and threw her bag inside, slamming it shut. How did he always manage to piss her off? God, he was infuriating!
âBetty-â Jughead grabbed her arm gently.Â
âNo! You donât get to decide things for me, Jughead! Iâm capable of making my own choices, I get to choose who I share my time with-â
âI know, I-â
âAnd for you to just shut me down after-â
âBetts!â He said sternly, they were close now, his face only inches from hers.Â
But the blonde found no trace of anger in his eyes, in fact all she saw was a tenderness, an amused smile played his lips. Jughead reached a hand to cup her face, running his hand across her cheek.Â
âYes...Jug?â She whispered breathlessly.Â
âCan I kiss you?â He asked softly.Â
âFriendâs donât kiss.â She replied, heady with the intimacy of his gaze.Â
âThen itâs a good thing weâre not friends.â He said before leaning in and pressing a long, tender kiss on her lips. Betty sank into his arms, running her hands up his chest and into his dark curly hair, twisting it gently around her fingers. He pressed her closer, deepening the kiss and a soft mewl escaped her lips. Jughead moved his hands to her thighs and suddenly picked her up, Betty let out a gasp of surprise as he placed her on top of the trunk and stepped between her legs, reconnecting their lips.Â
They kissed till they were out of breath, Jughead nuzzled her neck inhaling her scent. Betty kissed his soft hair, running her hands up and down his arms.Â
âBetty?â He whispered.Â
âJug?â
âDo you work tomorrow night?â
She shook her head in the negative.Â
âThen Iâll pick you up from your place at 7:00.â
Betty bit back a smile as she gazed into his dark blue eyes. âJughead Jones, are you asking me on a date?â
âLike you said,â He replied salaciously. âFriends donât kiss.â

Hell Break
So this is my first imagine ever. Sorry for any grammar mistakes I wrote it on my phone but Iâd love to hear feedback. Also this was moved from one of my side blogs which i have changed into a spiritual blog.
~~~~~~~~
Slight AU, slight violence, best friends reader x Jughead, ditching
~~~~~~~~
High school. Hell for any teenager desperate to fit in whether that be with the athletes, the preps, the nerds, the criminals etc. For my best friend, he had chosen Riverdale High to be his personal hell for the sake of possibly getting into a good college and away from this town after the next 3 years. Me? I was stuck on the other side of the tracks. Southside High. Now thereâs the real hell but strangely I wouldnât have it any other way. Sure we didnât have the trust of the faculty and we had to walk through metal detectors and get searched unlike the elites of Riverdale High but it was ours. For some students Southside High was heaven, gave them the chance to escape a more personal hell if only for a few hours during the week.
But standing outside the steps leading into Riverdale high, seeing it for the first time despite my best friend and I being sophomores and knowing each other for years, I couldnât help but feel anger fire through my veins. I could understand his choice to attend the school. I really could. After all it would look great on college applications but nevertheless I was angry. Not at him, at the town we call home. While Iâm subjected to walking through metal detectors and getting occasionally searched/groped by police every morning mon-fri for weapons and drugs, the elites get to walk in without that violation. They donât have to worry about getting groped by those sworn to protect you. Any the elites at Riverdale High are the ones actually bringing drugs into the school.
In an attempt to calm the raging fire in my veins I pulled out a packet of cigarettes and raised one to my black painted lips. Igniting the end and taking a long drag I thought about the reason I was here. During the summer, on the 4th of July weekend Jason Blossom, the family heir supposedly drowned while on an early morning boat ride with his twin sister Cheryl. The family buried an empty coffin as his body wasnât found. Until Friday night that is. Kevin Keller, adorably gay and son of the Sherrif Keller, quite literally stumbled across the water logged body Jason while in the process of a late night rendezvous. By Saturday morning everyone on both sides of the tracks couldnât talk about anything else but Jason as he hadnât drowned in a freak accident. Instead he was shot. Murdered in cold blood. Thereâs no doubt in my mind that people have already started thinking it was someone from the south side of the tracks because God forbid an elite is capable of killing one of their own.
Thatâs why Iâm here. To help my best friend. With the discovery of Jasonâs body still fresh and my friendâs sardonic humour itâs better that he isnât here. So I put out my cigarette with my boots, straightened my bralette and leather jacket, making sure to put my packet of smokes in my back jean pocket. After putting off my entrance to school for as long as I could, I entered in the only way someone from my side of the tracks could. Like a badass.
The bell for first period had rang prior to my badass entrance so unfortunately there wasnât anyone in the hall to witness the badassery that was me. Despite that though I made my way to the student lounge knowing that my bestie would be there since he had a free period this morning. Heading in what I hoped was the right direction I gazed into classrooms I passed, checking to see if it was the lounge. Rounding a corner, straight ahead was the wooden door labelled âStudent Loungeâ with voices from occupants drifting down the hallway.
ââŚor does being with the sheriffâs son give you a free pass? Keller?â spoke a deep voice.
âReggie is just being a blow hard Kev.â This time the voice was soft; feminine.
âI donât care what he says.â replied who I imagine to be Kevin Keller.
âI mean letâs think about it. If a kid at Riverdale killed Jason itâs not going to be a jock, right? No letâs be-â
The voices steadily grew louder the closer I got, I was able to make sense of what was being discussed. Once I reached the doorway I paused taking the time to simply gaze at the students sitting on the leather couches. There was the stereotypical good girl next door with golden hair in a high ponytail along with her gay best friend; a raven haired girl wearing what could possibly be ridiculously overpriced clothing; a bunch of jocks spread out amongst the various couches; a red headed jock fighting to put a dollar into the vending machine on the other side of the room and lastly my best friend leaning against the wall near the machine, his own raven locks poking out from underneath his iconic grey crown beanie and a bored look on his face.
â- honest. Isnât it always some spooky, scrawny, pathetic internet troll too busy writing his manifestos to get laid. Some smug, moody serial killer fanboy freak like Jughead,â One of the jocks, Reggie I believe spoke with a smirk on his annoying face. I began making my way slowly around the edge of the room hoping to go unnoticed in order to smuggle the bestie out.
As I was closing the distance between me and my oblivious friend Reggie decided it would be a marvelous time to regrettably open his mouth.
âWhat was it like suicide squad when you shot Jason. You didnât do stuff to the body did you? Like after.â
âIts called necrophilia Reggie. Can you spell it?â Jughead Jones, master of clapbacks.
It goes without saying that the jock was not happy, Reggie jumped over the sofa the intent to harm Jug crystal clear on his face. I made my way quickly to my friendâs side ready to intervene. Reggie stepped up into Jugheadâs space forcing him to lean away from the wall he had previously been resting against while i stepped forward into the space between both of them blocking Reggie.
âBack off Reggieâ I spoke whilst stepping up to him.
âWho are you?â understandably he was confused, everyone in the lounge was.
âY/N? What are you doing here?â asked Jughead from behind me.
âIâm breaking you out of this jointâ smirking over my shoulder at him.
Using the opportunity of me being distracted, Reggie attempted to reach around me to grab the front of Jugâs shirt. His attempt failed due to the successful landing of my knee to his privates. While he was getting better acquainted with the lounge floor I quickly turned around to grab Jugheadâs hand.
âRun.â
It was the only thing I said before dragging him out the door. We could hear the calls for Jughead to come back from his âfriendsâ no doubt having questions. Our laughs over what happened echoed loudly in the hall as we made our quick escape out the school doors, not slowing down until the school was out of sight.
âPopâs?â I asked breathless, unable to contain the smile on my face. Jughead wasnât any better.
âPopâsâ

Ships Lost at Sea
A short little piece of fluff of a moment between Betty and Jughead shared on a couch.Â
This ship inspires a need to write fluff like never before, itâs too cute and completely uncharted territory for me to be writing something so fluffy.
She wasnât sure what they were. When Veronica had asked her why he had comforted her in such an intimate way she didn't know what to say. She told her the truth he had been comforting her and she had found comfort in the most unlikely of places. That he was helping her through what had been one of the most difficult times of her life. She hadnât even told her that they had kissed.
The pair  found themselves on the couch of the Blue and Gold offices well after school had finished and they had continued to work on the school paper, while the case of Jason Blossom had dried up for the time being. With his head resting on her lap Betty found herself reminiscing about the little touches they shared. The way he would reach for her hand as he walked her home and how in turn she would hold  on to his arm or placing her hand on his cheek. They were such simple gestures, on the surface so insignificant and inconsequential but to her they meant everything.
She absent mindedly moved her finger tips across his forehead, brushing away the hair that had settled there as he continued to read out his latest article to her as she listened attentively.
She didnât want to put a label on it, what was occurring between them. She felt as though they were two ships lost at sea who had found each other. They both had their own problems, both trying to survive being a teenager with their own separate challenges. Her with a mum who was protective to the degree of being psychotic and him with a dad who just couldnât get it right. It was this that brought them together in addition to their need to find Jason Blossomâs killer. Maybe that was why they both had latched onto this case as an interest, it was something else to focus on rather than the homes that they came from and the perceptions of who they should be that they were trying so desperately to distance themselves from.
The others didnât get it, Archieâs dad was supportive and kind, Veronicaâs mum cared for her daughter in a way that Betty envied, and Kevin had his dad supporting him through his coming out and the towns reaction, he would protect his son through it all. But her and Jughead they knew what it was like when your parents didnât quite measure up the way you hoped they would, they understood what it felt like to be disappointed by your parents again and again and needing a soft place to land. Maybe that was what they were to each other a soft place to land.
âBetts, are you listening?â The change in his voice broke her away from her thoughts and she realised that he had now finished and was looking at her expectedly for her response.
âSorry Juggie I just drifted off.â She explained. Turning her head away from him.
âSomewhere nice?â He asked intrigued as to where her thoughts had taken her.
âNot really. Just thinking.â
âI assume about my mind altering article on why our school mascot is a mongoose. Thanks again for the plum assignment.â He stated sarcasm tingeing his voice.
âItâs been a slow news week.â She explained. âBut you have done wonders with it.â
âGood.â He smiled up at her, moving aside the printed article to rest on his chest and closed his eyes, as she continued to play with his hair.
He still couldnât believe this was happening. Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones sharing an intimate moment. He had been afraid that once their friends had found about them that she would have distanced herself, that maybe this was a phase she was going through and while it was behind closed doors it was fine but outside in the real world where everyone could see that he wouldnât be enough.
When he had been dragged away from school in the Sherrif Kellerâs car he was sure that that would be the final nail in the coffin. The gorgeous golden girl Betty Cooper would not want to be associated with a suspected murderer. The boy from the wrong side of the tracks and a criminal record. But there she had been, holding his hands, reassuring him that she knew who he was she knew the real him and there was such trust in her eyes that he had felt safer just knowing that she was on his side. That if she was there he could make it through.
He found himself reaching for her constantly needing to feel her skin, her presence near him. It calmed him knowing that she was close.
They hadnât talked about their relationship, he didnât want to jinx it, he couldnât bear the thought of losing her. He knew their friends were calling them âboyfriendâ and âgirlfriendâ and they hadnât corrected them.
âCan I?â Her voice broke into his thoughts and he noticed that she was motioning to his beanie. He nodded and she removed it, delicately placing it on the armrest of the couch. Her fingers returned to move through his hair, fingertips brushing against his scalp as he moaned his approval. She continued to massage his scalp delighting in the sounds he was making, knowing that she could bring him some peace. They stayed that way for a while her fingers moving across his scalp, directed at the areas that produced the greatest response. He felt like he was dreaming, completely at rest, safe in her arms.
âBetts,â He whispered to her even though they were the only two in the room.
âYeah.â She whispered back
âWe are going to stick together arenât we? Through this even after we find out who killed Jason, if we do?â He kept his eyes closed not sure he could look straight into her eyes while he asked her. This was the most directly they had spoken about what was going on between them.
âI would like that Juggie.â He opened his eyes to find her smiling down at him, he could lose himself in those eyes. They felt like home. He shifted his body to move up and capture her lips with his. Before resting his head again in her lap, his arm moving to around her shoulders and closing his eyes. Safe and content he felt as though his ship had finally come into port.
