Cutie Reviews: Yume Twins Jan 18
I find I’m beginning to slow down with these again... it bugs me a bit. But it was about a week or so ago when I posted the previous Yume Twins, so maybe it’s not that bad.
Contest Prize
This month, the contest prize items were Pocchaco themed x3 The items are all pretty cute, but... maybe it’s just me, I feel like the zipper bags aren’t the greatest runner-up prize they’ve had. But you do get a set of them, and I do like that it’s practical.
Yume Prize
Meanwhile, the Yume Prize features Kirby and Tuxedo Sam! They’re all very sweet and summery, which would be perfect for now but I’m not sure about January.
Unless you’re freezing, then the warm images might perk you up a little.
The book also featured a page of Aggretsuko, and the Art Corner was based on some cutesy Halloween and Origami.
Okay! So let’s get started with this review!
Medetai Chopping Board & Kitchen Sponge
These are two “partner separates“ we get for this month, Medetai fish who are coming with good fortunes for the new year :D or mid-summer if you’re like me and just getting to the box now...
Besides an adorable double-sided sponge designed to resemble a fish, we get a matching fishy cutting board. It’s made from a thin material, and once you finish using it you can “cup it“ to pour whatever you were cutting or preparing and put it in whatever it’s supposed to go in. It can also be hung up as apposed to put in something or stacked with other things.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥
I like the concept, and I think they’re very cute. A sponge isn’t something I would use very often, but it will make a cute accessory for our ocean/sea/water/beach themed bathroom.
Meanwhile, we have a couple cutting boards and usually use them a few times a week- so this will come in handy. But due to this one being rubber-banded so long, it refuses to go flat so it’s going to need a few days beneath something heavy before it’s usable.
Big Sanrio Stickers
I’m not going to bother rating this item because I’ve already gotten it before. I was kind of disappointed, I still have my old one that I never used, featuring generic Gudetama images. But I’m considering giving them to my friend because her favorite Sanrio character is Gudetama.
Anyway, besides Gudetama, we could also get a set of Pompompurrin, My Melody, an alternate Gudetama set, or Hello Kitty.
Aggretsuko Plushie
Our next item is this Aggretsuko plushie from some Sanrio shop (apparently worth 20 points). It features her in her iconic metal appearance, and as I’ve already been over this before, I prefer her normal appearance. But I appreciate the detail they put into this, the last one we got was only a head.
The plush is “bean bottomed“ and the head is stuffed, while the limbs are completely empty. The microphone is felt.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Even though I prefer her “other look“ more, this one always has a lot more detail so it’s nice when they get it really nice. I kind of wish the microphone wasn’t felt and that the limbs were less flimsy, but it’s a common feature with plush like this and otherwise I kind of like it. I slowly find myself beginning to reconsider my opinion on this alternate form of hers.
Kawaii Scrunchie & Badge Set
Wouldn’t you know, all but 2 of these were based on various Sanrio series and I get 1 of the Crayon Shinchan ones...
Besides that, I like this idea. I really wish we would get more accessories in these boxes, so regardless of personal opinion I’m pretty happy to see this. Not only can you wear them, but you can attach the scrunchie to things like a bag/purse and attach the pin to it to make it an adorable two-part accessory. You can also remove the chain.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I don’t like Crayon Shinchan. But I am willing to be more lenient because I didn’t see anything crude on this, and you know beggers can’t be choosers. I’m just happy we got a cute accessory item in the box.
My only minor itty-bitty complaint is that the badge’s pin piece is pretty flimsy and those types get on my nerves. They’re not impossible to use, they just take a little longer to attach.
Kawaii Boar Blanket
This is our final item, a cute little throw blanket for your lap or shoulders... or cat, as Peach demonstrates. She loves soft fabrics~
This is a cute little winter (or any time of the year honestly) blanket featuring a cute boar, acorn, and music note print. It gives me strong autumn/fall vibes, but the bright green makes me think summer.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Well besides being really adorable and a perfect little snuggle companion, it’s way smaller than the Rilakkuma one I got from the December Doki Doki crate and not nearly as soft, but it’s just as comfortable.
In terms of warming up, I’m not really sure how well it would do because right now it’s summer. I put it over me but I also have a fan blowing on me. I could feel a little difference but not much.
♡ Cutie Ranking ♡
Content - 4 out of 5. All of the items have some nice detail, there was no flaws. Two of them also had some variety we could get, which I always appreciate and the practicality is obviously there. But I only really like 2 of the items we got...
Theme: 5 out of 5, saying Zoo implies an animal theme; and yeah I saw animals. They also went out to include the Medetai, which are good fortune symbols for the new year, as well as this years Zodiac animal, the boar. I think they nailed the theme this month.
Total Rank: 6 out of 10. The items are good and fine, but I only really liked 2 of them as I already said. Honestly I felt little-to-nothing for this box but I still gave it a decent rating because the quality and theme was there. I did appreciate the box more while doing the review -like usual- and I feel like I will grow to like it more over time. Which didn’t happen with last months box.
♡ Cutie Scale ♡
1. Boar Blanket - It’s really simple in design and I can’t say I love the color scheme or anything, but I think it’s absolutely adorable~
2. Scrunchie and Badge Set - I really like that the badge and scrunchie match, and as I said, even though I don’t like Crayon Shinchan, I don’t hate this at all.
3. Medetai Kitchen Sponge - It’s not as colorful as the chopping board one- but it’s pink and I love the detail on it. Sponges are also pretty useful and this one I don’t feel much guilt in using. It’ll come in handy.
4. Medetai Chopping Board - I like how colorful it is, but I’m a bit turned off by the fact I can’t use it right now. I tried to but I didn’t have enough weight to make it work, it’ll be usable in a few days though. We sat it beneath something to straighten it and it’s doing really good so far.
5. Aggretsuko Plush - It’s kind of ugly-cute to me. I love plushies, and I like Retsuko, but I would have liked her way more if it was her normal appearance.
6. Sanrio Stickers - Only because it’s a copy set and the pictures are generic Gudetama poses. There’s nothing special or unique about theme.
Well, that will be doing it for this review :3 up next will be the January Kira Kira Crate so until then, remember to open up several boxes of cuteness!

Cutie Reviews: Doki Doki Oct 17
Okay cuties, this is my final October review. Thank goodness because I’m still really behind. It’s going on December and I didn’t even cover my November reviews yet.
I’m still sick btw. I wanted to have this done days ago but a “pet issue“ came up that distracted us around Friday and Saturday, then on Sunday I got a “surprise day trip away from the house”. We went to the zoo, which was a lot of fun but I feel like it extended my illness considering it was about 40 degrees out and I’ve been coughing a lot more. Now as its Tuesday I might have strep throat- but good news, we found medication that has really helped me (and puts me to sleep for like 9 hour intervals) so I’m good to go!
The zoo was also a lot of fun :3 I’ve always been in LOVE with animals and took a lot of pictures.
Like last year, we’re treated to a HALLOWEEN themed box (Also officially titled “Creepy Cuties” ♥). If you would like to see how it compared to last years, you can visit my review of that crate:
https://cutiecrates.tumblr.com/post/155716993687/review-doki-doki-oct-2016-box-11
Just a word of precaution though- my reviews were very new at the time so I wasn’t very good at it... I’m not saying I am now, but I can see improvement.
Also, like last year we are treated to art by one of my favorites: Tokimekiwaku, who makes the yandere themed visual novel series I’m a big fan of, Liar Liar.
Now before I officially start with the review I wanted to show everyone the special themed boxes they gave us:
I’m pretty sure this wasn’t done with last years crate, so I really like this touch of Halloween themed designing. I hope we get one for Christmas too~
Now, because I forgot to take pictures of it I’ll quickly cover the Suteki Crate items. I know I’ve been forgetting them as of late and I have no idea why.
In this months crate, we could get: a Maple Leaf Hello Kitty plush, Cardcaptor Sakura life sized wand, Jiji plush and carrier from Kiki’s delivery service to match the included Kiki headband, a Mochi-style pumpkin plush, a My Melody lantern, New Nintendo 2DS XL with Kingdom Hearts 3D, and a Spirited Away music box.
I’m already predicting that by the end of this review, I will have favored this crate to last years. I was in love with quite a few items from it, but I’m excited to compare the two~
First we get some of these adorable and fun Sanrio Gift Bags. You get 8 in total and each feature the same, colorful mascots donning their Halloween best on clear pouch-sized bags. You can use them for yourself or use them to show someone a little Halloween spirit, and they could also work as a last-minute emergency pack if you’re in a hurry or run out of normal food storage packs.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I didn’t end up using these for Halloween. My plans of getting a bunch of “fun“ things to give away didn’t happen this year so we only gave away a piece or two of candy each, nor did I have anyone special to use them on. For now i’ll be hanging on to them, but I’m in love with the fact that A: They’re practical, and B: they’re SANRIO, these are the perfect additions for a cutie kitchen!
Speaking of we also got these Doki Doki Halloween Mugs featuring Tomomi and Nuki ♥
For a while I wasn’t too excited with the original Doki Doki items we were getting, I mean I like them, but at the same time we were promised apparel and fun accessories and it felt like we weren’t getting that in comparison to what we got last year.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
While I’m not the type who uses a mug ALL the time, I do use them for DIY, crafts, and when I’m sick like now...
I also LOVE how cute the design it :D it’s perfect for Halloween or any time of the year! I love the pop of color on the design, and the mischievous but cutesy styling to create a precious, unique piece for the Doki Doki branding.
The cute accessories keep on coming~
We also got a pair of these one-size fits all Tsum Tsum Socks, available in 9 different designs x3 considering I’m obsessed with Minnie I’m happy to have gotten this one. But there is irony here, I already have a pair of socks that look exactly like these- minus the tsum tsum.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
The socks are ultra-soft and comfortable. I’ve worn them a few times already and I’m in love with how cute they look paired with my strappy shoes. They end directly beneath the ankle- something that would have bugged me to no end as a child. For some reason I HATED socks like that.
However, I do have my concerns with the socks. It’s a little bit silly, but I’m actually worried about snagging issues because of how soft they are. As stupid as this is going to sound, I’m also bothered by the discolored spots.
I’m weird like that I know. But their paws should be Black or White, not skin-tone.
We also got this kawaii Rabbit Ragdoll Keychain. The perfect spoopy accessory for costumes, cuddling, or to give your own doll a buddy:
I’m not sure what I’ll name her just yet, Patches feels a little cliche.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Now in comparison to the 2-types of plush items we got last year this one falls a tiny-bit flat. I don’t feel any sort of spookiness to it- however, I’m also a sucker for ragdolls and things inspired by them so I still really like it ♥ I know Yoko got attached to it fairly quick.
Next is our monthly Hoppe-Chan, who once again decks herself out in fun, colorful Halloween charms. She was available in orange or purple with 3 different designs, each with a pumpkin, bat, or witches hat ornament. You can probably tell which one I got right?
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥
I wish I got/saw what the bat one looked like, I love bats :D but the reason I’m rating this one a bit lowly is because I think I actually prefer last years to this one. While I like this ones colors... it looks like a cheap knock-off to the previous one. As a stand-alone Hoppe-chan I like it enough, and I love the idea of them introducing alternate style/color varieties lately, but when you compare to the two I feel like last years was superior.
We’re approaching our final few items now, and they go together wonderfully!
First we get some Cat Paws, which as an avid cat-lover I entirely approve of ♥ I always wanted a pair of realistic cat paws gloves so I was beyond happy to pull these out x3 I wore them for Halloween and paired them with the next item we got.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
They’re soft and thick, very plush with details and molding around the paws to create an almost realistic paw.
The only real issue is that they are a bit impractical, sadly. My fingernails were so crammed up in them they were kind of bent and a little sore. Not only that but the way the hand is shifted in there could be uncomfortable to some, and you can’t do very much with them on. But that’s kind of a given, isn’t it?
Ultimately I love them, but they might not be for everyone...
See, these are the purrrfect accessories for the kitty paws- or on a day you feel like being a cat ♥
Which is pretty much every day for me~
These are adorable, realistically proportioned Neko Mimi/Cat Ears. Featuring a black color scheme and pink undertones, a bell on each ear, and a ribbon.
But once again there is some irony.
I JUST bought a pair of cat ears from Hot Topic on my birthday (October 15th if you forget ;3). However, they were grey with alternate pink ribbons on them, so I wore those to work and these black ones for Halloween.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I LOVE these ears! They’re so cute! I’m obsessed with black cats in particular, so they are really fun to wear. They don’t look weird on the head at all, they look practically natural. However there is one tiny little issue... one of my bells don’t work T^T the little thingy inside fell out I guess, or its stuck.
It’s a tiny bummer, but one I’m willing to live with.
♥ Cutie Ranking ♥
Content - 4 out of 5. I loved everything, and the items were great in general :D in terms of pricing I felt like it was well worth it in comparison to last years box (we got a lot of cheaper, small items if you didn’t check out that entry)
Theme: 5 out of 5. It’s dead-on Halloween! Even the box reflected that!
Total Rank: 14 out of 15 Cuties. I remember ranking the prior years box as being fairly high on my scale- but in all honesty back then I didn’t know what I was doing. I think by now I’d actually rate it within a 7-9 range. The items were much cheaper and on a small sale in comparison to this crate, and while I admit I love the plush, hair clips, and Hoppe-chan from last years, I overall prefer this one.
♡ Cutie Scale ♡
1. Tomomi and Nuki mug - I HAD to give them the top spot this year. I love how the design not only fits the cute and mischievous side to Doki Doki crate, but I like how it clearly says Halloween!
2. Cat Ears - Kawaii ♥ I love the additional accessories
3. Cat Paws - generic sure, but I LOVE kitties and I always wanted a pair. The detail on them is really nice too.
4. Sanrio Bags - I love the colorful pops of halloween colors and styles!
5. Hoppe-Chan - usually ranks a lot higher, but she’s kind of plain this year...
6. Rabbit Ragdoll - A big generic as well. I love the mix of patch fabrics used though and it looks so precious~
7. Tsum Tsum Socks - in comparison to the other items they feel a bit generic. They don’t really feature any special designs or Halloween-esque details.
Okay Cuties, that does it for another review :P I’m hoping to hurry and get my November’s done, but I’m confident that I can cover them and my December crates no problem!
Until next time, stay Cute ♥

Cutie Top 10: Hoppechan!
⋆。°✩ Ta-da! ⋆。°✩
Here it is Cuties, my very first ever CUTIE TOP 10 list! Aren’t you excited?!
As you can see I’m in a better mood today and I’ve rid of all the stress and drama from last week. So here I am ready to make an ultra-fun post for everyone!
Or at least try 。(*^▽^*)ゞ
Okay, so if you’re new here or forgot, I’ve been planning to do Top 10 list topics for quite a while now. I’ve only done one, based on the Top 10 Items I’d Like From Kawaii Box, or something like that. If you click that bold text you can go check it out :3 Ah, I should mention- number 7 and 2 on the list we actually did get from a Kawaii Box sometime after I made it. I was so surprised.
For now, head under the cut for brand new images and my top 10 list of Hoppe!
Before I start, I counted the Hoppechan I own, and I have a total of 16! It took me probably twenty minutes or so to sort them out and determine which ones I was going to include- then probably another twenty due to lingering doubts and double-checking.
If I had 20 of them, I probably would have done a top 10 list, or maybe a Top 10 Hoppechan I didn’t like (if even possible!) to balance this one out.
In this post I will be counting down, so the Hoppechan who takes 1st place is my absolutely favorite of them all! I’ll also be providing a small bit of information with each one, what I like about them, etc.
10: MT. FUJI HOPPECHAN
To celebrate 2017, Hoppechan dressed up like Mt. Fuji to celebrate Hatsuhinode; a special new years event where people gather on various mountain tops to witness the first sun rise of the new year.
A simple, light blue Hoppechan representing the mountain, with cream on top in place of white top. A miniature red Hoppe was even included, colored red to resemble the bright shining sun, and there’s even a tiny mountain on top! Both Hoppechan are made from silicone, along with the cream. The mountain and tiny Hoppe’s bow is made from plastic, while they both have black gems for eyes, and gem cheeks. The larger Hoppe has pink cheeks, while the red one has white.
In the about 2 years that I was getting Hoppechan, I realized that I really liked the smaller sized Hoppechan. They were so cute, I couldn’t resist them. So while overlooking my collection, I was instantly drawn to this one. I know it might not seem like much, but the well thought out details were also pleasing to the eye.
9: TANABATA ANGEL HOPPECHAN
Inspired by the Magpie forming a bridge for the separated lovers Orihime and Hikoboshi, this Hoppechan takes flight for the holiday. It is recommended that the owners of this Hoppechan bring her along for July 7th, so that they can celebrate Tanabata and have their own wish come true; maybe even find true love. How dreamy~
This is another simple design, featuring a pale pink body and multicolored gem cheeks that alternate between light shades of pink and blue. She has a simple, glittery pair of white wings and an ultra-sparkly translucent star, giving her an angelic design.
As much as I enjoyed the elaborate looking Hoppechan, I also appreciated the simple and sweet looking ones like this. Pale pink is my favorite color, and I loved how her cheeks had a multicolored shine, her glittery wings and star just made this one all the more irresistible~
8: KAKIGORI HOPPECHAN
This slightly smaller than average Hoppechan is celebrating summer with a sunflower and some kakigori, or shaved ice. What makes this hoppechan special is that she GLOWS, and she came with three different “flavors“ of shaved ice: Ramune, Strawberry, and Melon- which are naturally Hoppechan’s favorites when she visits a summer festival.
This Hoppechan has a muted white body (made from glowing plastic) with basic eye and cheek gems. On her head is a plastic sunflower with a cute little translucent leaf charm. Her bowl is plastic and features a common design on most shaved ice cups. The shaved ice is clear silicone with a touch of color for that realistic ice effect.
I’m a strawberry girl, but my favorite popsicle/shaved ice/snow cones/etc have always been the blue ones. I’m not a huge summer season fan, but whenever I look at this Hoppechan, she reminds me of the fun times I’ll have anyway. Like going to all the fairs and festivals I look forward to, the shaved ice and sweets I’ll eat, the games I’ll play!
Yes, this Hoppechan does glow, if you were curious. Back when I reviewed it I tested it out under my desk. She glows a greenish color.
7. CHRISTMAS WREATH HOPPECHAN
Now this Hoppechan, I don’t have information on. She was the only one I couldn’t find the booklet for, but I do remember her being my second Christmas themed one. What makes this Hoppechan unique is that it’s also a PIN you can wear or attach to items.
This one has Hoppechan take a “back seat“ as the star- but that doesn’t mean she still won’t wear one✩ Hoppechan and the wreath are made out of silicone, while she has the same star from her Tanabata style. Three pearls, each one a unique color rest opposite of her, and on the top corner is a red polka-dot velvet bow. Hoppechan’s eyes are normal, while her small pink gem cheeks have a green shine in them.
Not only did I like the concept behind this one, but I love that it was also an accessory; it’d be perfect for any Hoppechan fans who wanted to bring her along.
6: Sakura Hoppechan
For the month of April, Hoppechan was preparing for Hanami, the cherry blossom viewing event. The inspiration behind her design is the water as petals land upon it. Be sure to take her with you when you go to visit the cherry trees!
(Admitting, I didn’t think to do that. We have some pink trees that she would have probably loved to have seen.)
Similar to the first Hoppechan on this list, this one has a very soft, baby blue body. What makes her unique is that rather than gem cheeks, she has pearls for an extra bit of elegance. On her head is a translucent pink sakura petal, along with a translucent pink and white flowers of different shapes and light glitter coating. The white flower has a tiny gem in the middle.
What I liked about this Hoppechan was her elegant and gentle design. As much as I love gems, I couldn’t resist her unique cheeks and her pretty decor. They go so well with her blue color but still stand out, bringing the eye straight to them.
5: HALLOWEEN HOPPECHAN
This was my second Hoppechan I ever received- and back then I thought she brought a lot to the party. Inspired by the Halloween elements she likes so much, this Hoppechan decked her ”hat” out with a jack-o-lantern, a big shiny star, a bat, and even some sweets in order to make it look like a Halloween Cupcake. She even spent the season decorating her shop for the holiday; she’s definitely a mood maker!
Making herself as Orange as a pumpkin, she has her normal gem eyes and cheeks. Her body and vibrant, unique purple cream/hat are silicone, while her decorations are all plastic.
To put it into words; this Hoppechan impressed me so much that I found it impossible to like the second Halloween inspired one we got- despite it being cute and sharing a few elements (it even came in a few different color options and had white gem cheeks!), but in comparison it looked so plain, I wasn’t interested. This is the only one I have that featured a different cream color, and I happen to like bats, as well as Halloween.
But, as much as I like this Hoppechan though, there is a reason why she isn’t closer to the #1 spot~
4: SWEET CAKE HOPPECHAN
As the Queen of Decoden Hoppechan has always dreamed of making delicious cakes and running a bakery (that’s also my dream x3 besides becoming an Idol- but that’s never going to happen). Here we have a bright, shinny gold serving tool with a delicious chocolate cake piece waiting to be served. On the very top is even a dollop of cream that looks like her! She was available in Chocolate cream, and Strawberry cream.
Or is it her playing a little joke?
This is an extremely elaborate Hoppechan composed of the gold utensil (and chain! The only time her chain changed color out of the ones I own!). The layered cake alternates between chocolate cream and cake, and on top are layers of chocolate and white cream decorated with a chocolate heart, a tiny gem heart, and a strawberry. The tiny pale pink Hoppechan has tiny gem eyes and cheeks, and wears a pink pearl flower-shaped ornament.
I admit, I was a tiny bit disappointed I didn’t get the strawberry cream one, but at the same time who could resist chocolate? Not only was I amazed to see Hoppechan that small, but I fell in love with the creative design inspiration behind this one. I had never seen anything like it! The detailing and quality put into the design blew me away- I’m also a sucker for realistic/detailed food looking things like the cake.
3: HISHIMOCHI HOPPECHAN
A girly and tiny Hoppechan charm focused on Hinamatsuri/Girls Day. Here, she sits on top of a Hishimochi, a special type of mochi that is only eaten on March 3rd to celebrate the health and happiness of all Japanese Girls.
Featuring the three layers of a Hishimochi, a pile of cream rests on the corner, adorned with three colorful pearls and a single pink flower. The tiny Hoppechan is lilac colored with a peach-pink flower. She has normal eyes and cheeks.
Besides the general elegant design behind this one, I essentially liked her for things I’ve already mentioned. It’s all around small size is just precious, and it looks so deliciously cute with it’s sweet pastels~
2: CHRISTMAS HOPPECHAN
Hoppechan is all decorated for Christmas this year. She’s tended to the tree and got ready for her approaching date. She loves Christmas due to its lovely cake designs- and why wouldn’t she? She’s cream!
The inspiration behind this Hoppechan was not only a yummy looking cupcake, but the fresh, fallen, fluffy snow. The base is brown and made from plastic, along with her colorful tree, present, and translucent red bow. Her eyes are normal, while her pink cheeks are brightened considerably and have a colorful shine to accent the pearls and gems lining the glittering, translucent cream piled beneath her. A gem adorns her bow.
Honestly for a long time, I always though this Hoppechan was my favorite. I mean look at her! She’s super glittery and shiny! Not only that but the creative design and inspiration- if you ask me, this Hoppechan was made to spoil her beloved fans!
We’ve got one more now Cuties, are you ready to see my most Favorite Hoppechan?!
1: NEKO HOPPECHAN
As a fan of Cosplay and all things cats, Hoppechan was delighted to bust out her several pairs of nekomimi (cat ears) for her shop. She also adores Hello Kitty and did a collaboration with her in the form of various merchandise to celebrate her 40th anniversary. Squishy cats are her favorite, because they’re like her.
Yes, here we are! Neko Hoppechan is my most favorite! Is that any surprise from a cat lover? But that isn’t my only reason, just look at her pink kitty parts, she even has a TAIL (and a bow on it but you can’t see it here), and a heart on her translucent glittery bow. She was made from several things I love!
She was also my very first Hoppechan, so she’s always been special to me.
Alright Cuties, I hope you enjoyed this kinda long dedication to Hoppechan! I love her so much, I really wish I could collect more. Maybe some day I’ll find a way to, and if I do I’ll be sure to show them off or make a brand new Top 10 featuring different Hoppechan. In a way, this topic brought me some closure, so while I still wish Hoppechan was included in the box, I’m more understanding of their decision now.
Meanwhile, I have at least 6 or so other ideas for Top 10 lists planned, but I’ll probably spread them out between Reviews and Box blogs. Tomorrow/later I plan on getting the next Review up, and on Wednesday or Thursday I’ll be posting my first “Crate Update/News” topic!
Until next time, stay Squishy Cute!

Cutie Reviews: Doki Doki 21 August 17
Now this review I should have gotten to a while back, because weirdly I got it super early- about a day or few after I got the previous DD crate, about a week late into the month of August!
But before I get into it, I have a few little announcements to make:
1. I got an email the other day, revealing that once again Yume Twins will be changing! What does this mean? I have no idea yet, we’ll find out in our September crates. I was worried that they might be lessening the items again, but with no hints to go with I decided not to get riled up before actually getting the box...
2. Last year at this time was when I signed up for these crates. My very first was September, but looking at the school theme from last year was what inspired me to get this crate (and several others) x3
3. I did contact them on the broken panda stamper thingy after I made the last review. They said they would replace it for me and really gave me no trouble at all :3
I love this picture~ It’s so cute x3
Art by: Cute Hospital
Theme of the Month: ( ^◡^)っ ✐ Back To School
For August, the booklet features Tomomi returning to school and making friends (and getting detention somehow). There’s also a page about one of the items within the crate, and a page detailing the school theme for the month.
So right away we’re beginning with the Suteki Crate items of the month. It’s half school and half fun- just like life :D
Unless you’re all school, in which case you’re no fun...
(Just kidding -‿◦)
Anyway, as much as I’d love to win a Suteki Crate- I’m kinda glad it wasn’t this one. None of the items interest me, except maybe the ultra-cute Hello Kitty backpack (which I don’t even need honestly), plus I already have 2 3DS’ and the Animal Crossing Game. I did like that they sorta stuck with the crates theme though- they’re usually very good about that.
Okay Cuties! Let’s get on with the review (୨୧ ❛ᴗ❛)✧
This is a cute little Totoro Cup, available in canary yellow or matcha green, both are adorable and made from plastic ♡
It’s pretty much just a sweet little cup, nothing more, but you could get creative with it. You could use it as a rinse cup, a cup to hold something, or even a measure for pet food or a snack if you’re trying to cut back. The colors of fall (or maybe summer?) adorning the cup are also aesthetically pleasing, and the unique little handle brings a little quirk to it.
4.5 out of 5, I like it ♡ but I do wish it was a bit bigger. If the bottom is accurate it holds up to 200ml, so depending on the use I’m not sure its ultra-practical for older people.
Next is an adorable plush from the Chun Chun Friends series. Chun Chun Friends are a flock of little birds that carry knapsacks and go on adventures. There was 8 available, and I got Sparrow (who I wish was the sakura sparrow but is still cute none the less ♡).
The plush is about hand-sized and very soft and squishy (with a cotton filling), but as usual, mine has some strange proportioning going on with it. The beak is crooked, the feet are glued to the body so it can’t stand unless it’s leaned on something, the cheeks don’t really look right (but playing with the knapsack helped a little).
4 out of 5. It’s a nice try. It’s very cute and I love how soft it is, but I’m perturbed by the minor details. I know certain qualities are sacrificed depending on the company and size, but I should still make note of this.
Here we have a lovely accessory for school or just everyday wear, the Yume No Hoshi Ribbon (Dream Star Ribbon). It’s a midnight blue, soft feeling ribbon with all sorts of cute stitching details, such as stars, constellations (in line and shape form, can you see your star sigh?! Mine are the cute little scales).
This special ribbon is said to bring good luck by wearing it and bringing it with you. It can be worn or hung in a variety of ways~
5 out of 5. Not only is the quality amazing, but it looks adorable and I love the idea behind it.
Next is our Monthly Hoppe-chan, with this one known as the Kakigori style. Perfect for the end of summer, Hoppe-chan is enjoying a final bowl of the sweet treat. This came in 3 “flavors“, including melon, ramune, and strawberry. I got the ramune style (which I have no problem with because my favorite shaved ice/kakigori/slushie/whatever is blue-raspberry).
This specific Hoppe-chan also glows in the dark! Of course I also tested that, and she in fact does glow!
5 out of 5. I love the simple but sweet design inspiration with this particular Hoppe-chan. The cup and facial details are plastic, but Hoppe is made from rubbery material like usual, as is her kakigori.
I think soon I’ll be doing my “Top 10 Hoppe-chan“ post~
We’re almost done Cuties, now let’s get to our Stationery items. First is this cute Cinnamoroll Letter Set, including envelopes, letters, and a sticker sheet for sealing them. The design is fairly simple, but cute, featuring Cinnamoroll with sweets, stripes, and coffee.
We also got a matching Note Pad that came in 2 alternate designs (I don’t know what the other one looks like unfortunately). The pages feature the design from the front, with the middle emptied to allow for easier writing.
I give both a 3.5 out of 5. I like them but I honestly have no use for this letter set, meanwhile, the note pad is very flimsy, in fact the cover of mine is kinda... messed up now, as I write this.
To go with this stuff, we also got an adorable Vitamin Ballpen ♡ which I’m absolutely in love with! I always wanted to buy these- I just never did.
Not only is it adorable and little, but it’s very practical if you have small amounts of space but need/want a pen on hand. They all have normal blue ink and write in the normal pen way- but they come in a variety of colors and facial expressions; making them super cute ♡
5 out of 5 for sure!
(speaking of top 10 posts, i forgot I was planning on doing a pen one... I’ll need to make a memo of these somewhere ヽ(;^o^ヽ) )
Of course, who doesn’t need a snack when you’re doing a study session? This is the Tohato Caramel Corn in Fruity Milk flavor. Fruit Milk is a popular flavor one can find in Japan, and it is normally made from mixed fruit, creating this sweet peach color as shown on the packaging.
I found this flavor a bit odd (I’m honestly not used to sweet crunchy snacks), but it wasn’t cloyingly sweet so I found them easier to handle than a few past flavors. 4 out of 5. They’re not my favorite, but I LOVED the idea of an added snack in the crate.
♡ Cutie Ranking ♡
Quality - 4 out of 5. I like the stuff, and as I mentioned, it’s “half-school“ themed. But at the same time, as cute as they are, I just don’t value the stationery sets (but I’m sure others love them, don’t take my own opinions to heart), and the quality of the birdie was a little... iffy.
Content - 4 out of 5. I pretty much liked everything except for the stationery set. Most of the stuff did fit the theme at hand, which is mainly the important part.
Practicality - 4.5 out of 5.
Total Rank: 12.5 out of 15 Cuties. Maybe it’s me but it feels like as of late, we’re on a smaller scale of things and it sort of takes away from the quality. When I compare this crate to last years it feels like they kind-of did better, but at the same time the items had more quality to them?
♡ Cutie Scale ♡
1. Vitamin Pen - I always wanted these, I’m biased and I don’t care ♡
2. Hoppe-Chan - Adorable~ I love the tiny kakigori!
3. Sparrow - Again, quality kind of plays a key. But in a strange way his “quirks” are kind of charming~
4. Dream Star Ribbon - I love the details with each little itty-bitty stitch. They’re elegant but with a cute twist.
5. Tohato Caramel Corn - Yes, despite being a snack I find the packaging fairly adorable with it’s sweet fruitiness.
6. Cinnamoroll Stationery Set - The quality is just slightly better than the note pad.
7. Cinnamoroll Note Pad - I have to admit I’m a bit biased here due to the cheap quality... the images are cute though.
Okay Cuties! That does it for this months review, I have no idea when next months crate will arrive- but I’m super excited for it! It’ll be the “anniversary” box for me, since my very first DD crate was the September cat theme from last year. I kinda have high hopes for this years- especially since I don’t know what the theme is yet.
I still have to get through 3 August crates, but I’ll be getting to the next one real soon. Until next time, stay Cute!
