Fic Prompts: Transformers Tuesday
(Happy birthday, @crazyfanatic97 ! Hard to believe it's been ten years since we first started throwing this au around!)
So this comes from an au that began ten years ago and has been morphing and evolving ever since. The premise involves the cast of Transformers Prime, ten years later and preparing for Jack Darby and Miko Nakadai's impending wedding. But considering this is Miko, who is a magnet for chaos whether or not she is instigating it, nothing -- nothing -- goes as planned.
"Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue" isn't supposed to refer to becoming a new variation on techno-organics. Especially not when you're about to say your vows.

"Mikoooo!" The little flower girl scrambled up on her tiptoes. "I can't reach. Pick me up."
Miko snorted. "Kiddo, if I could reach you past this skirt, I would." Not that she was regretting the design. Sure, it was a little opulent for the small chapel they were using, but it was a variation of the design she'd scribbled in her sketchbook when she was six.
Minus the magical girl wand and the bazooka, of course. She was a grown woman now, and had to leave childish ideas behind. A buck knife was much more practical to keep on standby, and far easier to conceal.
Lilian Darby folded her arms and pouted. "But I gotta tell you a secret!" she insisted.
Knowing Lili, this "secret" was most likely information that Miko already knew. Or else it was an unflattering opinion June wouldn't let her express in public. Still, Miko did her best to crouch without completely tangling her legs in her gown.
"Okay, spill. What's the secret?" she asked with a grin.
Triumphantly, her future sister-in-law threw her short arms around Miko's neck and whispered in her ear, "Jack talks in his sleep if he eats right before bed."
"Pfft!" Miko clapped a hand over her mouth. "Lili, I don't know how to tell you this, but I've been on enough missions with Jack to know it ain't just if he eats before bed. He always talks in his sleep."
"Yeah," said Lilian, rolling her eyes, "But it's all boring stuff, talking to the Prime guy, except when it's right after dinner! That's when he says funny stuff."
Well, Miko supposed that was better than some of the things she'd heard when they were offworld with Unit E missions. She knew Lilian had never gotten to meet Optimus Prime. The little girl had no context for the things her half-brother mentioned in his sleep. But Miko knew that Jack missed Optimus as much now as he had ten years ago. She did, too.
"Well, if he says anything blackmail-worthy on the honeymoon, I'll tell you," Miko said, only half serious. She put the flower girl down and wobbled to her feet. "Gah! My feet fell asleep!"
Or at least, she thought that's what the sensation was. It was similar enough to pins and needles that shaking out her legs brought her some relief. But for just a second, it almost felt like her skin was crawling. Like static electricity against her flesh.
Just nerves, Miko, she told herself. Shake it off.
Two more hours before the wedding.
What could go wrong?
