So i still need to do some housecleaning on here but I’m planning on adding:
SABRIEL from The Old Kingdom Series
while ofc she’s always available in her own canon, she’s more likely to be an option in aus where She’s been retrofitted into other fandoms. I’ll eventually get to something more substantial and leave it on a page or doc but for now here are some main verses for her.
GRISHAVERSE
SABRIEL KIR-ABHORSEN is a grisha from a long line of unique grisha, naturally occurring corpsewitches, both responsible for legends of necromancy and the heroes who defeated it. Sabriel herself was sent to a very prestigious boarding school for girls in Kerch as a young child when things became increasingly more dangerous for grisha in Shu Han and thus has only gotta a nominal education in the use of her grisha powers. Now things are kind of exploding and news of her father’s death has reached her, prompting her to take on the family mantle. Her last name, like the royal family’s is static and does not take on the parent’s name as the line is Kinda Legendary. She has amplifiers fashioned from the bones of the first 7 abhorsen ancestors, it’s either a necklace or a series of bells if i can sort out how to make bell necromancy work in the grishaverse. the abhorsen line amplifiers are anomalous in that they are heirlooms and not tied to 1 person but the family line, so probably merzost or something.
LORD OF THE RINGS
SABRIEL, THE ABHORSEN is from a line of probably men somehow related to maiar, either descending from them or just very closely associated. The Abhorsen is a servant of Mandos and combats against necromancers and returns all to his halls that should no longer walk this earth. “The Abhorsen” is a Title that essentially becomes one’s name/identity when the previous one dies/steps down. The Abhorsen uses 7 bells representing/tied to the valar or 7 maiar which when rung command the dead to follow her will, each with specific actions attached ( wake, sleep, bind, etc. ). The Abhorsen has a home on an island near the falls of the Anduin. I don’t pin her down in the timeline for max plotting freedom but most commonly set in the lotr era.
DRAGON AGE
SABRIEL ABHORSEN is from a long line of necromancers who actually use those skills to put an end to other necromancy and related practices. She has never been in a circle, instead having taught by her father. Extremely knowledgable in the Fade and spirits as an extension of the Abhorsen study in Death. Traveled extensively through Thedas with her father. Might be an elf or elf-blooded because of the sheer amount of deep cut info and specializing that only really makes sense if you’re jacked into pre-veil Elvhenan. Basically she’s weird by literally everyone’s standard, her traditions and generational culture is noticeably off from all the known ones which is another big hint about them not having the standard shared history of other groups in Thedas.
ASOIAF TBA bc the logistics of melding these canons is actually killing me. but the basics are the same. she’s a nice necromancer jim.
#pay no attention to the man behind the curtain / ooc.#psa / ooc.#i know i've basically just said 'necromancer and weird' in different ways but like that's the whole core of the character djksghsfd#she's from a long line of good guy necromancers who are like.... quasi-divine or whatever dflgjhsdflkg#i don't like stepping on nina's Thing but also...... look you give me necromancy in verse and i'm retrofitting a necromancer?#like.... what am i gonna do? not use the necromancy i've been given????
