oh i havent mentioned that something super great happened recently to me personally:
a) i got to my first choise lukio! b) to an IB DP program!! ill be studying in english!!! c) its in an Actual Goddamn City so i get to move away from this 2000 ppl town!! d) I might make irl friends!!!! havent had those in years!!!!! e) if not i still have a chanse to have hobbies!!! actual group activities i might go to!!! i can finally take a course on an instrument!!!!!!
more abt the ib school and me bragging abt getting in under the cut
I’ll Have To brag bc normal lukio doesnt have entrance exams. ib lukio is a Special Bonch and because of that its bit harder to get into. because it is a lot more demanding program. (two years, study six subjects, have extra shit like Having Hobbies to get ur diploma, its in english). for entrance exams i had three tests. english, math and finnish.
english was a multiple choise reading comprehension and a personal statement to see if you know english or have thoughts. the text was abt this utopia school in britain which i thought was kinda funny
math. it was the hardest math exam i have ever taken. by this i mean every single question was creative, needed multiple steps, time and you to Really Think. like,,,, eight questions but all are the Last And Most Hard On The Test. the subjects were Everything from past three years of upper comprehensive school. and no calculators. you have 40 minutes. needless to say ive never had more fun in a math test, and i already tend to enjoy them
finnish test was for finnish speakers (hello) but ppl could try bc it cant influence ur score negatively if yaint native which i thought was nice. we needed to read a poem and analyze it. the poem had three animals, one stupid ass worker type and one True Intellectual lazy fuck and a lil bird who doesnt know where their place is in the world oh no! and i just bulshitted like 200 words abt the Human Nature and mirroring in the poem and different writing devices used and had a blast
like in general A+++ would do the exams again had fun
how the points for the school are counted is that your academic subjects’ grade point average (grades from graduation diploma) count for a half the points, and the three tests counts as the other half. 10 + 10
finnish grading works so 4 is the lowest (fail), 5-10 are the passing grades. maximum average for the exams is ten, so each test is worth like 3.3333... points (not much considering how difficult they are)
so what did i get as my score?
9.83 for all my academic subjects. 9.75 for the entrance exams
19.58/20
id say not bad if i werent fucking sCrEAMING
i missed 0.25 points on the hardest three tests iver ever taken either combined or in average
damn
