okay so actually upon rewatching atla for the fourth or fifth time i'm more confused than ever about zuko's mom where did she go and why
#she leaves in the middle of the night#same night grandpappy dies#after allegedly telling ozai to kill zuko#so did she strike some kind of bargain? that's what feels most implied#but how does any of that work and was it worth ozai encouraging azula's cruelty unfettered?#she had to have known that would happen and i'm guessing azula has frivolously ordered dozens of servants executed/banished/etc#even before her breakdown i think that was her style#honestly i wouldn't be that surprised if mom died#but zuko is under the strong impression she's alive#and there's a comic storyline along that and she like. is alive#but i can't think of a logical reason for her leaving without zuko#i only read one comic and i didn't get enough context#so tell me what the comic explanation is and if it's satisfying I'll accept it as canon
