Shoutout first and foremost to Mundy who has such fucking cool little hits of color matching...im really weak for well executed redgreen combos, i think hes neat <3

in fact, i really think your eye for apparel combinations and color usage in general is really neat! i love how bold and varied your outfirts are, these tabs were a joy to look through

i came immediately to ysfen. i ADORE f-pose imps with my entire being, and i think they look rad in those cloaks especially, but what they suffer from is a lack of silohouette and moreso a lack of focused palette? 

we got red, we got orange, we got dark teal, we got cyan, we got gold, we got navy, we got purble. it’s doing a lot! 

i would shuffle some stuff around and make a few swaps for different colorways, maybe axe some of the layered up stuff to let their wings and body features stand out still

idr hwat i was gonna say about orille actually i really really love their colors. maybe bailing on the sylvan lattices? but i love the way their colors flow and how you intorduce gold 

this ones odd because I LOVE the actual outfit honestly?? I think its fantastic, what a great little wizard, but i actually dont think maltzil is the dragon to be wearing it! needs to have more golds or pure blues, a bit more of a primary color scheme maybe? 

AAAAND one more guy.  i kinda like the vibe, fancy knight guy, but i think the white silks are far too cool of a white and could either be layered w gold silk to warm up the hue or ditched entirely

i love the idea of the deities being evoked for various qualities or tasks in their respective wheelhouses.. i’ve played with it a little bit in lore before, but now i’m thinking about the existence of roadside shrines or small honorary offering spaces in lairside guest quarters or public spaces.

you could always do little renditions of the World Pillar, for instance, where travelers may leave charms or offerings specific to their desired deity- colorful strings of beads of correct color tied around the appropriate place on the little stone carving, or a bowl of chipped travelers’ runestones at the foot. flights may have region-specific incense cakes that may be prudent traveling tokens if you happen to need your patron’s attention far from home.

or, riffing off this post which i love, there might be deity-specific effigies in places where their governance is at play; a squat stone Tidelord might sit under a shingled roof of clamshells at a crossroads miles away from any ocean. tall, thin shrines housing the windsinger might be encountered on winding paths away from civilization, with weathered coins strung up beneath the eaves so that they clink musically together in the breeze. bronze flamecallers might be interred at the mouths of kilns or in front of smiths’ workshops, the head and wingtips buffed bright with many years of rubbing for good luck. in place of a hearth deity, the earthshaker might reside in a little alcove in kitchens or living quarters to hearken to home and safety. the possibilities are endless! the color-coding of the flights means you can do so much with banners and ribbons and pigment and talismans to add little details and texture the world.

making a separate post for this so i don't derail someone's cool lore post but I've always had the idea that the fire flight is actually a very richly forested region with a lot of fertile soil and rainfall, especially the further you get away from the Great Furnace. i'll spare everyone the most of the earth sciences lecture but typically volcanic eruptions trigger bouts of rainfall (sornieth doesn't have el nino so i dont think global precipitation would be decreased in the same way as irl), and the constant warm air masses meeting the coast would create a hot, wet climate similar to sumatra (which also has many active or previously active volcanoes). i'm picturing a lot of the ashfall waste as dense tropical forests filled with fast-growing pioneer tree species and elaborate ecosystems based around hot springs heated by underground magma pockets. the ashfall corn cultivars are the bestest in all of sornieth and all the herbivorous breeds rave about them

in the seeliragh verse each flight is separated into sort of fiefdoms that are ruled by the principal lair in the area- usually the oldest, largest, or most prestigious one. it’s not an exact science- there used to be large intraflight conflicts about borders and land rights, mostly during the steel age. however, in modern times most accords between lairs have been settled for at least several hundred years. smaller lairs in a “fiefdom” area operate internally the same way that city-states might and only pay tithes to the region’s reigning lair in the general or ceremonial sense. customs vary from place to place, though, and several flights have major deviations from the fiefdom model: notably plague, water, arcane, and lightning. Light flight is also noteworthy because of its much more rigid and centralized concentration of power and authority; the closest comparison might be to the Holy Roman Empire.
