i think fair game...may be my favourite ship of all time? which shouldn't be true, considering how sometimes i wonder if i'd even like them as much as i did if clover hadn't died. to me his death was just so out of nowhere (and not very well written cough cough) and i guess the shock of it ended up being a big factor in me fixating on the ship so hard. it's really easy to get invested in what could have been!

there'll always be something so simply but beautifully tragic about them to me. polar opposites with complementary everything, barely ten minutes of screentime together overall, copious nuts and dolts parallels, somehow completely accidentally the only exception to a core theme between all the relationships on the show. drop a bomb like that into some very formative years in my life and you get. well. this.

honestly i can't think of a ship that's impacted me more than them. i can attribute a LOT of my artistic growth to them bc i would not. stop. drawing them back in 2020 onwards. i met soso many lovely mutuals through this ship that i still talk to to this day. these gays guys got me to write fanfiction again. you have any idea how crazy that is??

five years later, i know there's a lot of growing i have to do. i wouldn't even really say i'm super proud of how this redraw turned out. but i have to thank this complete accident of a ship for so much. even if i don't post about or draw them as often, i don't think they'll be leaving my heart anytime soon. they've just kind of made a permanent home in the corner of it. and i'm okay with that. it's pretty comforting.
