aw man, nothing makes you want to have a casually-playable instrument on hand like hearing someone else with one, huh
#my neighbor across the street was out on his porch with a guitar this afternoon#'casually-playable' in like. it's easy to just kind of whip it out and have a little music#alas you cannot catch me dragging an 80-lb harp out onto the porch#(if you've stopped by a harp practice stream though: thank you. i love you.)#it's not that i want to learn guitar necessarily#so much as i miss the part of being younger where there was regularly music around. you know?#my sister plays guitar and we used to just hang out sometimes and sing stuff#it scratches a little bit of a different itch than singing along to things (even though that comes close)#anyway! enough melancholy on main let's have a fun fact:#our pride and joy (my sister and mine) is a christmas carol mashup we created several years ago on a whim over the course of an afternoon#17 carols. several key changes. one point where i have to put the capo on her guitar between chords to make it work.#several song transitions are done for the joke#sections of it are slightly inaccessible to me now as i've lost part of my upper singing range due to not using it#bonkers time that we now revisit annually
