“Mr. McDuck, have you ever… fallen in love?”

Scrooge nearly stops dead at the question. He had been tuning out Fenton’s eager, nonsensical rambling about science nonsense he didn’t have the energy to pretend to understand. He stares down at his reports and reads the same sentence three times over and over before he finally processes it.

Fenton stops when he does, a worried expression overtaking his face. He reaches out a gentle, hesitant hand. “Mr. McDuck?”

“Aye, many times, lad,” Scrooge grumbles. He tries to soothe his ruffled feathers. Why is it that every lad and lass from here to Pennsylvania takes him for some sort of old, codgering, blasted mentor figure!

fun fact: the title of this is just “Mr - exactly like that, with one set of quotations, and i have no idea what the actual title was supposed to be. i also don’t rrally remember what the plot was, although I think I can somewhat guess from this snippet sfghdksl;f. Probably Fenton going to Scrooge for romantic advice, and the two comparing their outside the box love interests. And maybe Fenton taking Gyro on a Scrooge-esque adventure to create a spark and making a fool of himself, but Gyro likes him anyway (shhh).
