pride headcanons :3c will probably do individual posts for mercs so this doesn't get outrageously long.

scout: bisexual, trans guy. his ma is also bisexual, and while she never openly talked about it while he was growing up (mostly for her and her children's safety), that doesn't mean he didn't cotton on. she would often have friends or "friends" over who, again, might not have openly stated what they were, but their vibes were off the charts. the subtle flirting with some of them didn't go unnoticed, either.

this is just off the dome and not developed at all, but perhaps there was one such friend who was particularly impactful on him gender-wise..... maybe a butch who, when asked by a very young and not very tactful jeremy, stated that she was a woman, but she also wore jeans and short slicked hair and had the kids call her "uncle pat". little pre-gendering jeremy was already a ""tomboy"" from spending so much time with his 7 brothers, but uncle pat had him following her around like a duckling, mimicking her style and mannerisms. i think she was around only a couple of months, but she and his mother's other GNC or trans friends really kickstarted his transition and Gender Discovery in his teens.

really i don't have too many thoughts about him and gender as an adult. i think the way he flirts with women is an overcompensation/trying to mimic straight men :p i think he hates getting his gender shots sooo much, but at least medic makes it quick :/ i think he had the briefest of crushes on most of the guys on the team early on, really more brief infatuations/hero crushes like "wow these guys are so hot/strong/mature/manly" and then he lived with them for a few months and he was like "actually they're all gross/old/snore in their sleep and also i love them like family".
