It's my headcanon that Anjali/Khushi keep telling Arnav/Aarav
Not to talk to strangers on the road
Not to take any food items offered to them
Always carry pepperspray
Have and ID with home address on them all the time..
you know, just in case if there's any kidnapper lurking outside Shantivan's walls.
If you see this again, that would be me using it in a ff. You're free to do so too. Arnav bhoi being teased is sugar to my soul. Bye, gotta go wash my mouth with acid now that I've called him bhai the forbidden word.

Queer Indian Media: A Compilation
A couple of days ago, @impala124 sent @lurkingshan an ask about the lack of discussion about Queer Indian Media in fandom spaces. I wrote about it here, @neuroticbookworm here, and @waitmyturtles here (both of them have excellent points, I highly recommend you read their posts!). It's become quite apparent that people are willing to watch and engage in discourse about queer Indian media, it's just that the lack of popularity and accessibility makes it harder for people to start. So, I've decided to make a list tracking all of the queer Indian media I know of, and hopefully also any meta/discourse about it, which is an idea I've had floating in my head for months now.
This list is by no means comprehensive, so if you have recs, send them my way! Text me on DM, send an ask, tag me in your posts, whatever. And though it's not possible for me to watch everything on the list, I will be slowly going through as many of these as I can and writing about them, as well as hopefully finding more stuff and easier to access versions for the ones that are harder to access right now. This post is going to be a slow work in progress, but I'm hoping to update it regularly. So, if you'd like me to keep you updated, let me know through the tags/replies and I will tag you in future posts!
I've tagged the people who've recommended certain shows alongside each show. Everything on here is available online. The hyperlinked titles lead you to the media itself, meaning that it's available for free online with subtitles. Other details will be mentioned separately.
Disclaimer: The media I have watched/read have recommendation ratings (which will not always reflect my enjoyment of something, rather are based on how much I'd recommend it). While I did lightly screen everything on here, the criteria was 'has a trailer or otherwise showing queerness to be a central theme in the story' and 'is available online', so take that into account if you decide to pick something up, and definitely watch trailers and/or skim the wikipedia pages beforehand.

The ‘Other’ Love Story @/silverquillsideas
Just Another Love Story
Books
Memory of Light
Recommendation: 5/10 A historical book set during the colonial era, the lesbian romance is mostly a subplot that loses it's way towards the end. It's kind of a drag, but the history component is somewhat interesting.
Don't Let Him Know
Recommendation Rating: 7.5/10 with serious trigger warnings including rape. It's a brutally honest book designed to make the reader uncomfortable, so proceed with caution. I personally liked it quite a lot, but that's majorly because of how authentic the book felt.
Falling Into Place
Recommendation Rating: 8/10 A modern lesbian romance that follows similar beats to the typical thai bl/gl. A little underdeveloped in some places, but overall quite good.

Also, I don't get why these hindutva anons think that India is a queer friendly country. If it was, then why was there a huge outrage and opinions about how sanctity of marriage would change when the matter was in court. Literally, everyone was so bigoted. Made in heaven showed what was the reality in middle-aged queer people communities honestly.
Why was there outrage when Fire was premiered and was opposed by rss and other related groups? Even now, shubh mangal zyada savdhan and badhai do were criticized.
Why our beloved sprinter Dutee Chand was ostracized by her own family and community and critiqued by her own country then?
While our parents are changing, I feel our generation will be better as queer accepting parents rather than older ones. These people are rugsweeping our entire dark past and parts in order to portray that we are superior to others. We aren't. Honestly, no religion is. What matters is how we choose to interpret it. Sorry for the huge rant, and I really appreciate the blog you mods made.
See, the thing is, that they're on a "Hinduism is the supreme religion" kick. Unfortunately, the truth is that no religion is better than any other religion. But to support the falsehood of hindu supremacy they have to close their eyes and deny things that are happening all around them.
These particular anons do care about queer issues and struggles, in their own way I suppose. Some of these people are queer themselves, which is undoubtedly sad. This part of them is in conflict with the part of them that craves to know that they are always correct and right and that their religion and country could do no wrong. To make themselves feel better, they point at Islamic nations that are also horrible at granting queer people and women basic rights. India isn't much better, mind you. But the bare minimum improvement is enough for them to be assuaged in their sense of superiority. Thus, with their beliefs affirmed and their islamophobia stoked, they go on with their lives and parrot their opinions elsewhere.
It must be a painful existence to have two facets of your being in a harsh conflict with each other. Must be confusing to live that way. Regrettably, they can't get out of this mess unless they want to get out.

Hey, if possible can I get a list of all lgbt indian films. I just came to know about Maja Ma. So seriously I need to start watching indian lgbt rep. Tv Show recommendations are also totally cool
Ah dude...
Fire
Margarita with a straw
Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhan
Badhaai Do
Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To
Cobalt Blue
Chandigarh Kare Ashiqui
These are off the top of my head Bollywood movies. There are I'm sure a lot more regional movies and bollywood niche movies that have queer representation.
The TV shows I can think of only have queer side characters but there are 2-3 youtube series that feature queer main people
There's All About Section 377 and the second part Still About Section 377 that's kinda cringe but still pretty sweet.
There's Romil and Jugal (which i haven't watched) which is a proper web series. There's quite a lot of short stories on YouTube which feature queerness too.
Hopefully others can add on it!

Classic BL Watch: MasterPost
Namaste besties. @waitmyturtles started a challenge watching Older Thai BLs and it got me thinking as well. I've seen a few, I've DNF-ed a few, but I wanted to see the progression with my own eyes. Thus we be here.
The basic premise is to watch and review Thai BLs from Love Sick 2014 (which I believe is the first Thai BL) to present time.
I'm going to make a few changes to the format and include BLs from other countries as well, including China (if I can find it).
This is a long post so I divided it into chapters: - Some History - The Method to Potential Madness - List - Rating System I've made individual posts about each under #org: subcategory
I've been fascinated with BLs for over two years. To find that there was an entire world of queer content out there which A) existed and B) didn't queerbait or bury the gay, was a revelation. How could this be? I'd watched Yuri!!! on Ice in 2017 and I guess assumed that BLs would be the same (E7 blocked kiss). So while BLs were on my radar for a while before I started I didn't get into them until relatively recently. I got so into them that I started a YouTube Channel about it.
See I'm a writer and watching art transform in front of your eyes is a relatively recent phenomena and it makes my brain go brrr...
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Some History:
I'm Indian. I'm queer. We didn't have any rights until 2018 when the ban on homosexuality was lifted. We've had queer movies but they were your traditional Oscar-bait type things until very, very recently. By that I mean until last year where we had Maja Ma, a Madhuri Dixit starrer movie about a mom coming out as a lesbian which shocks the family and makes trouble for the son's marriage. It's a brilliant movie with one of India's best actresses as the lead. But it was a Netflix Original. Before that there was Subh Mangal Zyada Savdhan and Badhaai Do, which are both good queer movies which aired in cinemas from 2020 and 2022 respectively. All to say, queer media is very very very new in India. As such, what was a young queer to do but follow the Indian Dream and go to America. Which I did, in a literary sense. In fact watching Nyssa Al Ghul kiss Sara Lance was my queer awakening. (I love Ava but this ship was really something.) Between the good writing and queer chars being present, I wasn't coming back to India like any typical NRI.
I've mentioned before about how for the story I started writing at 15 there was no other love interest for the female lead except for another girl. It just won't make sense. This was before 2018, mind you, so not a chance in hell this would be published in India. I consoled myself with 'We'll publish in America. It takes place in space anyway, so it's fine.' But then came a story that just won't work in America. Think: what if Succession's terrible people protags were queer and Indian but it's written from a 'truly believes in romance' pov. Confused already right? I'd already given up hope. I love this, but it won't be anything more than a webnovel.
Par kahte hai -
(It is said, if you love something with all your heart then the entire universe will conspire to get it to you.)
And somehow I found BLs. A world of queer stories the likes of which I'd never seen before, brimming with love and support and honest and real and queer. The Bollywood fan in me lived again after a decade 6 feet under.
I love BLs. There's no two ways about it. I love them for the love they give, the hope they have, the cringe, the drama, the stupidity, the honesty, the realness. It's everything I ever wanted queer media to be. To start it from 0 and learn what made them what they are would be an amazing learning experience and to share that with other people... well how can I not?
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The Method to potential Madness:
My tastes are a little peculiar. I have seen media from all over the world, the good and the bad, what it has taught me is nothing is every going to be perfect and I will miss things that are important to other people but what else I've learned is that I don't really care about something being good. If it's broken, a little difficult, a little cheap but made with love. I am all in.
See when I was young during Janmasthami every year these guys from an organization called Yogeshwar would come in white kurtas and perform nataks(plays) in our society. They didn't have sets, 2-3 props, just that white kurta and pants as outfits and yet it was entertaining. It was fun. I loved it. So money and pure intentions have never been barriers for me.
(an example of Janmasthami natak)
What I do care about is competence. That the writer understands what they are writing about. The best actor can't pull off a bad script but a bad actor can be tolerated in a good script.
To get you an idea of my tastes some of my favorite medias are Legends of Tomorrow, Guardian (Cdrama), Supernatural, Agents of Shield, Agent Carter, Chains of Heart, Kinnporsche, LITA, The Eclipse, The Devil Judge, Crash Course in Romance, SRK movies from '00 like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Main Hoon Na, Kabhi Khushsi Kabhi Gham, etc. As you can see, very widely ranging. I love competence and I love heart. Everything else I can live without. To that end some shows I didn't like/DNF-ed: Bed Friend, Step by Step, Big Mouth, Eve, Game of Thrones, most Netflix things, Mr. Robot, Supergirl, The Flash, Elite, Witcher, Coffee Melody, War of Y. If you get too PC without the narrative backup I'll leave; If it's too nihilistic, I'll leave; If it's too monotonous, I'll leave. I have Psychotic Depression, I don't have the time to deal with this shit.

Elegant Marathi Wedding Invitation Cards: Tradition Meets Style
Introduction: The Beauty of Marathi Wedding Invitations
A Marathi wedding is a grand celebration steeped in rich cultural traditions, vibrant rituals, and joyous gatherings of family and friends. The wedding invitation card, or "Nimantaran Patra," plays a crucial role in setting the tone for this auspicious occasion. It is more than just a formal announcement; it’s a reflection of the couple’s journey, values, and the cultural heritage they wish to honor.
At Crafty Art, we specialize in designing Creative Marathi Wedding Card that blend tradition with modern elegance. Our designs capture the essence of Marathi culture while offering a stylish and contemporary appeal, ensuring that your wedding invitation is as unique and memorable as the celebration itself.
The Cultural Significance of Marathi Wedding Invitations
In Marathi culture, the wedding invitation card holds a special place. It is traditionally seen as the first official communication between the families of the bride and groom, symbolizing respect, joy, and the sacredness of the upcoming union. The language, symbols, and motifs used in the invitation carry deep cultural meanings, making it a cherished keepsake for both families.
1. Traditional Elements in Marathi Wedding Invitations
Marathi wedding invitations often incorporate various traditional elements that resonate with the cultural heritage of Maharashtra.
Lord Ganesha: The invocation of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, is a common feature in Marathi wedding invitations. His image or a sacred verse in his honor is typically placed at the top of the card, seeking his blessings for a smooth and prosperous wedding.
Mangal Kalash: The Mangal Kalash, a sacred pot filled with water and topped with a coconut and mango leaves, is another popular motif. It symbolizes prosperity, purity, and the divine presence in the wedding ceremonies.
Palkhi Motif: The palkhi, or palanquin, is a traditional Marathi symbol that represents the joyous procession of the bride as she embarks on her new journey. This motif is often used to add a touch of cultural richness to the invitation.
2. Marathi Script and Language
The use of Marathi language and script in the wedding invitation adds an authentic and personal touch. It connects the invitation with the cultural roots of the families, making it a meaningful piece of communication.
Marathi Calligraphy: Elegant Marathi calligraphy enhances the aesthetic appeal of the invitation. At Crafty Art, we offer a range of traditional and modern fonts that can be customized to suit your preferences, adding a regal touch to your wedding card.
Traditional Verses: Incorporating traditional Marathi verses or blessings, such as "Shubhamangal Savdhan," adds a spiritual dimension to the invitation. These verses convey best wishes and blessings for the couple’s new life together.
Crafty Art’s Approach to Marathi Wedding Invitation Cards
At Crafty Art, we understand the importance of every detail in a wedding invitation. Our approach to designing Marathi wedding cards is focused on creating a perfect blend of tradition, elegance, and personalization.
1. Customizable Design Themes
We offer a wide range of design themes that can be tailored to reflect the unique style and preferences of the couple. Whether you prefer a classic look or a contemporary design, we have options that will meet your needs.
Traditional Designs: For those who want to honor their cultural heritage, we offer traditional designs featuring classic motifs like Lord Ganesha, Mangal Kalash, and intricate paisley patterns. These designs are often complemented by rich, vibrant colors that symbolize joy and prosperity.
Modern Aesthetics: If you’re looking for something more contemporary, our modern designs incorporate clean lines, minimalist motifs, and a subtle color palette. These invitations offer a fresh and stylish take on traditional Marathi wedding cards.
Floral and Nature-Inspired Themes: Floral designs are timeless and versatile. We offer beautiful invitations featuring intricate floral patterns or nature-inspired motifs like peacocks, lotus flowers, or leaves, adding an element of elegance and grace to your card.
2. Personalized Touches
Personalization is key to making your wedding invitation truly unique. At Crafty Art, we work closely with you to add personal elements that reflect your story, values, and the significance of your wedding day.
Couple’s Monogram: Adding a custom monogram with the initials of the bride and groom is a stylish way to personalize your wedding invitation. This monogram can be featured prominently on the card or subtly incorporated into the design.
Photo Invitations: Including a photograph of the couple on the invitation adds a personal and modern touch. This can be a recent picture or a cherished memory from your pre-wedding journey, making the invitation even more special.
Custom Wording: The wording of the invitation is crucial in conveying the tone and formality of the event. Whether you want to keep it traditional or opt for a more contemporary style, we can help you craft a message that resonates with your guests.
3. Premium Quality Materials
The quality of the materials used in your wedding invitation is essential to creating a lasting impression. At Crafty Art, we use only the finest materials to ensure that your invitation is both beautiful and durable.
High-Quality Paper: We offer a variety of premium paper options, including textured, matte, and glossy finishes. Each type of paper is carefully selected to enhance the design and provide a luxurious feel to your invitation.
Foil Stamping and Embossing: For an added touch of elegance, we offer foil stamping and embossing options. Gold or silver foil can be used to highlight important details, while embossing adds depth and texture to the design, creating a sophisticated and tactile invitation.
Handcrafted Details: For a truly unique invitation, we offer handcrafted elements such as ribbon ties, laser-cut patterns, and wax seals. These embellishments add a personal and artistic touch, making your invitation a keepsake that guests will cherish.
4. Eco-Friendly Options
For couples who are environmentally conscious, we offer eco-friendly options that allow you to celebrate your wedding sustainably without compromising on style or quality.
Recycled Paper: Our recycled paper options are both sustainable and elegant. These eco-friendly invitations are perfect for couples who want to make an environmentally responsible choice while still enjoying a beautiful and high-quality design.
