I learned today that a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, Dickey Betts passed away peacefully in his home in Sarasota, Florida, yesterday following a period of declining health.

Dickey wrote quintessential Brothers songs including “Blue Sky,” “Rambling Man,” “Jessica,” “in Memory of Elizabeth Reed” and many others. His extraordinary guitar playing alongside guitarist Duane Allman created a unique dual guitar signature sound that became the signature sound of the genre known as Southern Rock.

He was passionate in life, be it music, songwriting, fishing, hunting, boating, golf, karate or boxing. Dickey was all in on and excelled at anything that caught his attention.

Betts joins his brothers, Duane Allman, Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks and Gregg Allman, as well as ABB crew members Twiggs Lyndon, Joe Dan Petty, Red Dog, Kim Payne and Mike Callahan in that old Winnebago in the sky touring the world taking their music to all who will listen.

Condolences to his immediate family, Donna, Duane & Lisa, Christy & Frank, Jessica, and Kim.

The most recent update (8pm Oct. 8) has the hurricane moving south so the eye is expected to make landfall near Sarasota but from Fort Myers to north of Tampa are still in its path

Evacuation orders my have changed and there can always be new updates - as of now basically all county’s on the golf cost peninsula have some form of mandatory evacuation orders

My mind is blown that Florida is experiencing two powerful hurricanes within days of each other. Milton is a Cat 5. This is going to be extremely dangerous. The Tampa mayor just straight up said if you don't leave, you're going to die.

Well, the wounds from (nearly) two weeks ago are healing up now. Not all completely gone yet, but much better than they were. The bruise on my hip/thigh had extended down to the back of my knee by last weekend, a total length of about 55cm and about 25cm at its widest point. Yes, it was huge! Right now the original bruise area has mostly turned yellow, but the newer area is still quite purple.

On Saturday we made our annual pilgrimage to Homestead Farm in Maryland, to pick some apples and grab a few pumpkins to decorate outside the house. It was a very pleasant day, weather-wise - as it has been all week since - and we sneaked in a late lunch at the Cross Vines golf club/winery near Pooleville. But. I bought petrol at a station in the town and when we went to pay for some candles after lunch, my debit card got declined. As did my wife's. When I went to check the balance on the account (there should have been nigh on $1000 and I had no issues paying for lunch) I discovered a $750 payment to the gas station! On inquiring with the bank, it turns out that was 'just' a pre-authorisation transaction! This is criminal behaviour in my book - how could anyone spend $750 on Petrol?!? You'd have to fill 10 cars to get close to that! And it counts as a debit instantly, meaning that your balance is down to nothing for real world purchases. And it took until Tuesday for that Pending transaction to disappear from the account and the balance be regularised. Grrrrr!

Yesterday, I woke at around 2am, trying to resist the urge to go to the bathroom. But when I turned over, I noticed a trickling in my right nostril, which even in the dark I realised was blood, so I had to dash from the bed in any event to kill two birds with one stone including staunching the bleeding. I woke up in the morning with no ill-effects or aftermath. So why it happened I have no idea. It's not unusual for my nose to bleed if I've been blowing it a lot when I have a cold, but there was no precursor or cause that I could think of.

Anyway, now we're off to the beach in NJ. Yes, again, because it's a public holiday on Monday. A few weeks ago, we did have some thoughts about going to Sarasota in Florida for the long weekend - thank goodness we didn't as Hurricane Milton seems to have caused a lot of havoc in that area.

There's other things happening but there is something that they're trying to do several groups and you notice that he has no way of telling what he would get he really does not ever have an indication it's very weird but that's what happens usually he says it's something recent and Saxon mortgage I was not very recent it came about 8 years later but the car is already been 3 years usually it's about the time but he says in the area that he's in usually this little faster and yes it is that would be the building problems one thing it says is the surgeries his mom had to pay a lot of money and he doesn't think it was right they looked at that and the insurance company was over billing and she knew about it and couldn't do anything is not true so she might try and get it back herself because of the code but they would send it to her son yeah so she'll probably try and do that and I'll go to him and she'll become a stinker it's true that's one thing he says sometimes happens with hospitals they're kind of insane people they give money back and they don't really want to and they try and get you back there and that's a that's a job for John and remillard. So he's saying oh boy and he's an a****** there's another case of that with a mental facility it's actually the one in Sarasota where they held him for another week and a half for no reason he said he needed to have a place to go and he did. The doctor was messing around with him trying to make him sick and that would be Jason and Tommy f might have him pay the money back for the week and a half and the money out of pocket no it's insurance money and the insurance company gets a bunch and our son would get somebody too for the overstay and getting sick it's on the report probably about 2 or $3,000 when you should get two or three million and it will open the path for a lawsuit too which will open so these are things around here and he says usually they come first cuz people want to hold me here they say and they want trouble here to threaten other people off and stuff like that. There's a couple more instances the car was short changed by about $1,200 and no $3,000 and people hate Trump and want him to pay up and people are in the office might send a check in the honor it and the a****** will try and pull it out every 5 minutes and everybody will go after his money with it the rest of the clan there's a whole bunch of stuff like that it might work on it because people have seen it before and it's a good idea and closing I'd like to see our son and daughter put a lot of effort in and they still are and he's still offering his ideas as well as ours some cases people are helping like with Kia and he is too with local stuff there's a huge amount of money that should come from someone she's not around and she said you would not have to pay rent but he said I'll pay because I can't have

And he did give them a ride to Sarasota so we'll probably call it even charge him 30 bucks but it's really like $150 it's true too. There's a couple other things there are usually people who hand the money for doing certain things and they haven't paid him anything they say they're not going to we say why they said he's being a stinker so we're going to shake their tree and if they give the wrong answer they're in trouble and people like mac daddy they're involved in the nuclear stuff and they're not being smart people and their code is all f***** up we're going to use it cuz what he's saying. The people that owe him money outright and it's not Hera he wasn't loaning her money he was giving her money that's his love and his wife and his memory bank he says he's putting money into the memory bank so everyone's going to check the bills and they want to see if they can get something. She says he says actually to her you're the two armed bandit and she's laughing one arm you pull the other one I pull so we're having a good time but that's fun. And the people that owe him money from the past they owe him a bunch of money for projects that he completed and he couldn't collect it or couldn't take them to court they didn't pay the final payment there are three of them that we recall each one of them needs a reprimand we're going to go after them they need a strong one we're going to go after them now for what they're saying and we don't like it in the final amount each one is about $1,200 it's like $4 or $5,000 it's a long time ago that they owe money. There's a whole bunch of law suits they were opening. So he says why not go after the small fish and we'll collect and Trump's will try and take it and stuff it'll go after them it's a good scam and it's probably by his son and really they have the problem with the dupes. There's a few things that are funny and he came up with a movie idea again same one dukes of Earl and Earl is his father and it's from the television series my name is earl. And he messed around with people he has to make things up to him so he's going around being an a****** and people can't see him doing it saying he's making up to them and the concept is great this is actually fun because it's all these guys that work for him and all a bunch of assholes I can that I like him and he find all these guys get in trouble give me a good time.

This other sources of money but he did work and it wasn't paid not hearing punta Gorda it says I must have done something advertising people making money off him we can ask them we don't have to demand or anything have someone else fork it over and help manipulate it usually they don't tell us what it is that they tell us they're doing it and people were doing that and stop doing it but it actually works.

We have ideas and they're pretty good we want people to compensate him for forcing him to drink and we're going to threaten the beer and alcohol companies that they won't get their shipments unless they pay him something and then they'll have to fight Trump and they'll try and take their stuff it's small money and there'll be small fights that's worth it and they need the information scam so clever one and we're going to try and do it. He spent a lot of money on it and it was a waste of money and we do have proof they're forcing it.

Hey guys, my name is Jordan, and in my free time I like to play golf and travel to different places. 

My picture is #9, Titian 1538 Venus of Urbino.

1. The painting's composition is based on Titian's colleague Giorgione's "Sleeping Venus."

2. Titian has been credited as the first Venetian painter to earn international standing.

3. The art piece was done and completed between the years 1532-1534, but did no sell until the year 1538. 

4. El Greco was a disciple of Titian.

5. The painting depicts a nude young woman reclining in a bed of a palace.

When I first saw my assigned painting, I didn't really know what to say about because it seemed to me just a nude chick getting a portrait done in her palace; her surroundings in the painting let me know she is pretty wealthy. I did, however, think it was a beautiful artwork when I first saw it due to the colors used on the oil painting. While doing some research about the artist, Titian, and the artwork, I gave me a different perspective on the reasoning he created the piece, and the all-around meaning behind the piece. Nudity in art was a big trend back then as well, so giving him the benefit of the doubt, this art piece was beautifully done, and is in fact his most famous piece of art.

2. ART AND WRITING -  This photo above was drawn for me when I was 10 years old at Disney Springs (formally Downtown Disney). My favorite thing about this drawing is that the artist only had to look at me to create this portrait; on top of that, it was drawn entirely in sharpie. This serves as a reminder of all the memories of going up to Orlando to Disney once in awhile. Although we couldn't afford to go to the actual parks, it was still a blast visiting Disney property and bringing back a core memory I can keep forever. Lastly, of course I think this drawing is beautiful!

3. WRITING A SELF-PORTRAIT- My name is Jordan Sabuda, and I am currently 20 years-old; however, I turn 21 soon on August 26th. My gender is male, and I am born and raised in Sarasota, Florida. I am a 20 year old white male from Sarasota, Florida. I have many things that I like to do for fun, such as my martial arts, which I take great pride in. I also enjoy the sport of rowing, or doing anything that involves being out by the water. I've also recently found that I enjoy golfing, so I've been getting more into that as well. 2. A. My chosen artwork, Ibrahim Mahama, is made out of jute coal sacks.

    B. The goal of this artwork was to turn ordinary pieces into meaningful pieces of art.

    C. The artist wanted to explore the worldwide capitalist economy by using the sacks as the work of the the working class.

    D. Many buildings in Ghana started to follow this artwork style by putting sacks on them.

    E. The artist was born in 1987 in Tamale, Ghana.

3. When I first looked at the artwork I thought it was just a picture of a wall with people looking at it. Once I did some research on the artwork I started to have a different perspective on the piece. I realized that this artwork has a lot more meaning and thought behind it than how it looked originally. I now see a lot of hard work and dedication to get every detail to the way that the artist wanted and to get everything covered.
