A Couple of Resources for Caitriona Balfe Fans

Someone asked me today in DM if I had any photos of Cait from 2016. Actually, I do--and it is very easy for me to access them.

Earlier this year I realized that I used to go to SamCaitLife on WordPress when I wanted photos of Cait or Sam at specific times because they had a great archive arranged by month.

The problem is that they stopped posting in January 2017.

So I decided to slowly but surely build my own archive. I started with Cait because I just love her fashion sense and I wanted to have a resource where I had easy access to photos of her at different time periods. I have several boards on Pinterest related to Cait but two in particular are broken into discreet time sections. One spans Cait’s modeling years from 1999 to 2015 and one spans the time between 2013 (the year Cait was cast as Claire) to the present.

These boards are by no means complete. They are works in progress that I add to slowly. But I use them all the time as resources.

I’m redabby72 on Pinterest. The Cait timeline board from 2013 to the present can be found HERE. The photos above show you roughly how the board appears. (Of course there are more photos when you click on each section.)  The board is arranged from oldest to newest photos. Each photo includes dates when the photos were taken or published, as well as information about where each photo was taken and where the photo was found. 

The Cait modeling years timeline board can be found HERE. It spans the years 1999 to 2013. Mostly it is divided by fashion season. I drew heavily from from the incredible lists of Cait’s runway shows put together by @catwalkqueencaitriona​ (who is credited on my board for all her hard work). This board isn’t as extensive as the other one yet but I’m slowly but surely working on expanding it.

These boards are open to anyone in the fandom. All I ask is that you cite my boards if you reblog or copy photos from them, as it has taken me a lot of time to get all this information together and I’d also like to spread the word about these boards as resources.

If you find any photos that you think should be included, please let me know. I’m always happy to add to these timelines.

The entire pregnancy speculation is bogus and is based on a lot of fake canon. If you go through the archive if SamCaitLife you can see that the timeline ES have set up doesn't make sense. They think Cait had the baby in early-mid July. Cait at a party in London in June doesn't look 9 months pregnant. In July there was a fan pic of Cait in Italy a week after they think they are seeing Cait and baby as a reflection in a Sam fan pic from NYC. Cait wouldn't have been allowed to fly so far along.

...(2) Sam went to Montreal that month as well. As if Cait would go to Italy with a newborn and Sam to Montreal. They also think that Cait wore the flowing Bafta dress to hide her postpartum body. Yet, she wore a croptop in August and figure hugging dress to the Louis Vuitton fashion show in September. So why hide at Bafta? And she wouldn't take a baby to Ghana or would have gone pregnant to CR with the Zika cirus going around. And none of the baby Bree babies is the SamCait baby. SMH

I’ve been staying out of this ES vs. Respectful Fans discussions on my blog. It’s hard to do with so many insults and lies being spread but I’m trying-this will be the last post I will have about this subject. I’d like to keep my blog a fun Outlander place.

Yes, as I’ve said I didn’t think Mackenzie would fly all the way to Scotland for a few minutes of Sam presenting (if he was nominated then that would be different) since he has to go right back to work. But I’m sure as soon as he gets a longer break, they’ll see each other. But it was great to see Tony with Cait! Of course ES being obnoxious as always saying he’s her manager or PA and using the name Tobrian to bash him. Since that one article mistakenly referred to Cait’s bf as Brian McGill instead of Tony McGill now EA have coined him Tobrian, with none other than Jess leading the way. How they call themselves fans is beyond me. SMH

PS. Allisonian is a regular shipper so the ES can't say she's an "anti" lying about Sam and Cait being in separate cars. She's besties with the women who ran SamCaitLife, who are also regular shippers. They ship but know Sam and Cait aren't together in RL.

Hi :) Unfortunately I don’t know what happened to them, SamCaitLife last twitter activity was 12th of January and  I don’t have any alternative to offer. Sorry. Maybe someone can help?

We can all guess how Sam and Cait feel about being famous, but they’ve never said anything like “the public is the enemy”. You’re basically putting words in their mouths based on what other celebrities have said. Everyone hates a troll, that much is certain. But let’s not stretch it and put out blanket statements. I think that’s unfair.

I’m not putting any words into Sam and Cait’s mouths anon, so please stop being melodramatic. I reported what Kristen Stewart said and I wondered if more celebrities didn’t feel that way. You seem to have focussed so much on that comment that you apparently missed that I also said that I thought Sam and Cait were “grateful that we fans appreciate them as actors.”

I mentioned that Kristen Stewart quote because I had just recently read it and that phrase struck me. 

I also don’t think Kristen meant she considered fans to be “personal enemies” but rather “enemies of her privacy.” 

And who could blame her or any other celebrity for feeling that way? Both Sam and Cait have said that they don’t like some of the intrusiveness of fans. (And that isn’t just shippers who have been intrusive; we NSTs have been intrusive at times as well, as have  some “neutral” fans.)

For instance Sam said this an interview with Hannah-Rose Yee for MarieClaire on March 23, 2016:

MC: You and your co-star Caitriona Balfe are very close. What’s thebest and worst thing about that?SH: The best is that it’s reflected in the show. We go to knoweach other well in the first season and developed this bond and this trust. Ithink it’s great to be able to share the journey with someone. The worst… Now what could bethe worst thing… I think recently we’ve had people discussing our personallife and whether we were in a relationship and it’s almost a shame thatthat has to be discussed because we’re just doing our job. I don’t know what other job you do where youhave to discuss your personal life or relationship with a co-worker. It’svery strange.

Furthermore, in an 06.04.16 interview in the The SundayTimes (which can be found at SamCaitLife) Cait said: 

“There’s a small fraction of fans who like to find out that stuff andwill go to extraordinary lengths to do so,” she says. “And it can be quite hurtful — not to me,because I signed up for this, but to the people that you’re with — and that’sthe one thing where you’re, like, ‘Really? That’s not necessary.’”

Fans (shippers, NSTs, neutrals) like to learn about the lives of the celebrities they follow and even though that is normal and natural in fandom it isn’t always fun for the celebrities themselves.

I just don’t think Sam and Cait want us to know that much about their personal lives and we need to be aware of that. I try not to post anything that isn’t already out there on social media but even reposting information is somewhat intrusive. I have to admit that and take responsibility for doing so. And unfortunately celebrities like Sam and Cait may have to accept to some degree that this it what fans do.

But they don’t have to like it and I doubt that they do. Therefore, I also sincerely doubt that Sam and Cait are sending any of us secret messages about their personal lives–lives that they probably don’t want us to know too much about in the first place.

I am, well I guess “was” is appropriate now, a “that’d be cool if it did happen, but it’s not” neutral if that’s such a thing. I’m very happy for Cait, but all I can think of right now is how relieved MacKenzie probably is! 😂

I remember a long time ago that a number of us thought that it was always going to be Cait who sunk the ship, mostly because she was in a steady relationship with Tony but also because she doesn’t put up with a lot of nonsense. For instance, Sam made it clear in an interview for Marie Claire published on 03.23.16, that it was Cait who was motivated to set the record straight:

“I felt like we should just not discuss it at all but she wanted to make it clear and I think that’s totally fair.” [emphasis added]

Hopefully neither MacKenzie NOR Cait will get any flack. Cait has been pretty public with Tony for years. She has clearly stated over and over again that she is not dating Sam. She has told us she is dating a “civilian” and that she “doesn’t date actors.”

The rest of us got the memo a long time ago. I’m not sure why certain fans have needed to keep reading into Sam and Cait’s playful, flirty banter. That’s just the way they are with each other, and they also play up their chemistry at events to sell the show.

I hope that Cait doesn’t get flack but I particularly hope that certain fans don’t bash Tony. He’s a��“civilian” and doesn’t deserve any kind of negative treatment.  Remember what Cait said:

I thought a new edition of Cait has Spoken was warranted because of the demeaning rumors being spread by certain ES about Tony being Cait’s PA. He isn’t. He is her boyfriend. We have lots of PROOF about that.

(Oh, and stay tuned for a post that debunks the whole Jared Leto/ Emma Ludbrook personal assistant thing. Emma was only Jared’s PA for about 2 years--not 10 years. Then she became a producer and eventually a COO.)

So ES, stop spreading the false rumor that Tony is Cait’s PA. I doubt Cait appreciates it. Remember that she blocked one of your own for insulting Tony. If you say you value Cait, there is no excuse for constantly insulting and demeaning the man with whom she has chosen to share her life.
