Malleus x Irina

I love them together so much

It is no longer possible for me to imagine either of them being with anyone else but the other. And for me that's really saying something— I ship my OCs with a lot of characters. And I'm a multishipper too— like, I can definitely find someone's, for example, OC x Leona ship really cute while still shipping my own OC Tomoe with Leona. But it's impossible for me to seriously imagine Irina with anyone but Malleus anymore, and vise versa

BUT! I'm gonna include what I wrote for them in Irina's Showcase Post, under the cut + some new stuff for Book 7

Book 2

One night she'd just been laying in bed unable to sleep, hearing the distant whispers of her parents fighting at the edges of her mind like usual, and deciding to go outside just to escape the confined room and get some kind of distraction from hearing them. She was incredibly startled hearing someone suddenly call out to her, having been too stuck in her own thoughts to notice him approaching like she usually could. She was honestly scared at first, though mostly as a result of being caught with her guard down, which she usually never was.

But as soon as she properly looked into his eyes, all that fear suddenly seemed to fade away in an instant. She didn't know why, but she suddenly started to feel relaxed in his presence, more so than she usually ever did. And she felt almost sad when he disappeared. But she told herself off for it; that was the first time she'd ever met him after all, and she didn't even know his name. But since he'd said she could call him whatever she wanted...

She'd call him Peridot, after the color of his eyes. 'Peri' for short.

Tomoe's (my 'Yuu') first reaction to the name 'Peri' was to laugh, explaining that it made her think of Perry the Platypus. And once she'd also had the thought, Irina couldn't help but laugh too, 'Peri' being exchanged for 'Perry' in her mind after that point.

Book 3

She ended up being asked by some Student or other if she'd thought about joining a club yet. She hadn't, not even really knowing which clubs actually existed. And so she decided to take a look to see if anything seemed interesting; she had a lot more free time after being fired from her job anyway. When she saw that there was a 'Gargoyle Appreciation Club' and that it had only one member, she knew instantly who that must be, and decided to join it.

Book 4

When Lilia showed up to give her the postcard, she knew who it must have been from. And so she asked Lilia to wait for a second, rushing into her room to get a box, with a letter attached, which she asked him to give to the sender of the postcard. It was a birthday gift for her friend Peridot; a clay tea pot, its spout designed to look like a little dragon, the handle on the opposite end sculpted into the shape of a scaly tail. The letter contained not only wishes for him to have a happy birthday, but also an explanation of the spout. She wanted to give him a Gargoyle as a gift, but she also wanted to make sure it was an actual Gargoyle, with a clear purpose, rather than just a decorative Grotesque. So she settled on a tea pot! Since it serves as the spout, the 'needs water spout' element of a Gargoyle was cleared, as well.

She wasn't there to see it, but when he got her gift and read the letter, he was so beside himself with joy that for the first time in at least a century, there was sunshine in Briar Valley. Not only was it a birthday gift from his best friend, hand-crafted no less, it was also incredibly thoughtful, proof to him that she'd been listening and paying attention to every single word of all his rambles about his beloved Gargoyles. The next time they met again, before any words could be spoken he quite literally picked her up off the ground and spun her around as a way to say 'thank you'. That was the moment she admitted to herself that she'd fallen in love with him.

He ended up insisting on them drinking at least one cup of tea for all their club meetings after this point, so he got a chance to use it. And he also insisted on the same for every single Housewarden meeting he went to, which he'd started to actually know the times and places of thanks to Irina knowing through Tomoe and telling him. If he'd had any less decorum he would have literally shoved the pot in the face of random people in the halls; he was that happy about it.

Book 5

She's also the one who gives Malleus the tickets to the SDC. For their booth at the cultural festival Irina made a bunch of small clay figurines of Grotesques and then wrote above them the differences between them and Gargoyles, to educate people.

When Tomoe meets Malleus for the first time, she lightly teases Irina, asking "So this is the famous 'Perry the Platypus."' Irina got very embarrassed, and Malleus, eyes wide with surprise, asked if that was meant to refer to him. Irina, face burning with embarrassment, then explains the name and its connection to a certain animated Platypus spy, but also says her nickname for him was actually supposed to be short for Peridot. It ended with Malleus bursting out laughing right then and there, Irina, still embarrassed, saying: "W-was it really that funny?" It then becomes a recurring inside joke of him calling himself 'her platypus friend'.

When Malleus began to fix the stage, not being used to magic and thus a bit scared at first, Irina moved close to his side out of reflex, feeling safer there. It made him really happy to think that for once, not only was there someone who wasn't afraid of him, but she even felt safe around him. Though she became very flustered when she realized she'd been gripping onto his jacket arm.

Book 6

She stays behind at NRC, in an unoccupied room at Diasomnia.

Book 7

I have not yet read Book 7, but! This time it's Irina's time to shine instead of Tomoe! Irina understands why Malleus does what he does, she also hates losing people; that's why she's not going to lose him to his Overblot

New Book 7 thing:

She runs to him, who's sitting on the ground, and throws herself around his neck. She's crying. “I-I-I was— w-was so— sca-red…!” Her voice is shaking and wavering so much from the tears that she can barely speak. “I…apologize, my dear Child of Man… I know now that my actions were wrong, but it was never my intention to frighten—“ “Th-that's not why!” Uncharacteristically, she cuts him off. “I was so, so, s-so worried! I thought you could die! I-if I didn't defeat you in time. I-I thought you were going to die! I thought I'd lo-lose you!!!” Then she just can't hold it in anymore— she starts wailing, just at the mere thought. She holds him tighter. When she's calmed down enough that there are no longer tears cascading down her face, she pulls back…and she cups his cheeks and pulls him closer so their foreheads touch. “I love you. I love you. I love you, I love you, I love you! I—“

week one hundred and twenty nine

my ocd's been really weird lately. it keeps showing up when i least expect it and it's so hard to ignore.

i've had surprisingly few things to do considering exam season's coming up. i should definitely start studying some grammar stuff. i think i'll have to come up with a new and more efficient study schedule for my next term.

monday was l's birthday. it was weird. i didn't know whether to say happy birthday to him or not. he ended up posting about it so late that i ended up falling asleep and i decided not to give him a belated congratulations the day after, especially considering it would've had to been via dms.

our relationship's so weird. ending on 'good' terms is weird. i can't fully hate him and that makes it so much harder to get over him. i would say i'm over him... i'd say i'm over him enough to start talking to new people. i don't really mind being single at the moment though. getting silly short-lived crushes on strangers on campus or on the bus is way more fun now. i just think it's harder to ignore him when i don't fully have a reason to like... block him or something. we literally still send each other tiktoks and memes and react to each other's bereals and i do tend to get a bit... sad (?) whenever i see his mom or younger sister reacting to them because they were so nice to me and i felt so accepted and welcomed. it makes me nervous thinking about what he's told them about us not meeting up anymore. what if he made it seem like i didn't want to or something and now they just think i'm the asshole?

i'm over him.

i haven't matched with anyone new since last time. one guy who was pretty cute but he replies so slow. like... i'm talking days. he seemed really nice but i'm kind of over it if he's going to reply that slow.

it would be nice to meet someone in real life though; maybe via uni or so. i don't think i'd meet someone within my major though. the demographic is quite... not my style. not that major plays that big of a part. some majors are definitely hotter than others though. i think graphic design or anything like... computer/coding/design related is quite nice. my biggest turn-off is econ. econ and like... engineers. no spice. rich, sure, but no spice and it just radiates right-wing.

i went thrifting on monday too. i got veneer on cd, the the perks of being a wallflower book and a barbie dvd. quite the find to be honest.

i also lost my job on monday? apparently i was still in the application process for the job and not actually employed? they never told me that? it just said so in the fine print of the agreement. so yeah... i'm back on the job search grind. i'm currently trying to get a nice new photo for my cv before i start applying again. my current one is shit.

also! we've (mostly my sister and her boyfriend) been taking care of my sister's boyfriend's sister's dog (that's a mouthful) this week. she's such a cutie but she's a lot. she's so playful and... dog-like? i've never had such a stereotypical dog before so it's so new. she gets so excited all the time and it's so cute. her favorite toy is this shark plushie and she walks around with it a lot and it's the cutest thing ever.

yesterday a and j came over as usual and it was a lot of fun. we had a yummy dinner and drank some wine and a bunch of gin and tonics. i love gin and tonic!

Hello everyone! I know not very many people will see this but I feel like I have to say something so here goes:

It's minecraft's birthday!! Yay!!! It's been forever since I've played it because so much has gotten in the way (also my laptop broke rip), and I'm feeling kinda sad because... well, nostalgia, I guess.

When I was a kid I begged and begged my parents to get me minecraft, and I think it was 2nd grade when I came home and they were just grinning because they got it for me and knew how happy I would be. I was ecstatic, and minecraft became a large portion of who I am today.

I talk like this was decades ago, but in reality I only stopped playing a couple summers ago. It still hits hard. I remember watching videos made by Stampy, Unspeakable, Dan, Preston, so many others whose names will be forgotten even though they're ingrained in our childhoods like our family is.

Two summers ago, I was on a creative server where a lot of people build roleplay worlds. I took part in a lot of these because hey, who doesn't wanna be a vampire or a witch or whatever every once and a while. And I used to build these massive, beautiful worlds for rps, because it was fun.

I saw someone asking if anyone would help them build a world for a roleplay called Mystiria. Lynn, the girl who owned it, became one of my best friends at the time. I gave up most of my summer to work on that one project, spent hundreds of hours building it. Maybe it wasn't the best build you've ever seen but by god I was proud.

We talked on discord, ran the rp, it was amazing. People were really impressed by our build. Then her parents found out she was using discord and suddenly we couldn't talk anymore. And we stopped being friends.

Mystiria is still there. I think. I haven't played minecraft in a while, because it just doesn't give me the same joy it used to. I almost forgot it existed.

Minecraft is such an amazing thing. The updates are getting a little ridiculous, and it's laggy, and different than it used to be. But it's still minecraft. Without the game, without the youtubers and people I watched and met through it, I would not be who I am.

I'm crying a little bit because a) this is a lot of stuff about me to be sharing with a bunch of strangers who probably won't even read it and b) I miss it a lot. The experience and joy I used to get from it is something I will never experience again, and to this day the sound of creepers will scare me.

Thank you to Minecraft, and its community, for being who and what you are. Thank you for being such a huge aspect of my childhood, for caring when other people didn't, for giving me the option to go on adventures and see new worlds and be the fighter or nomad or farmer or designer or person I've always wanted to be. And thank you so, so much, for helping me through some of the hardest periods of my life. I will forever be in debt to it.

Happy birthday. Thank you for the happiness you gave me.

Elena Gilbert walked out of the clinic. Her phone rang and she answered it.

"Where are you? I got Bonnie's birthday present. Meet you at the bar in an hour?"- Y/N asked.

"I had an errand to run. I am on my way."- Elena said. 

"Ok. I got to tell you something."- Y/N continued-"I have invited Kol and his brother to come to the party."

"Wasn't it just supposed to be us three?"- Elena asked.

"I spoke to Bonnie and she said that she had already invited a friend from work and her boyfriend, so- the more the merrier, right? You might like the guy."

"Oh, please, you are not playing match.com again?!"- Elena was not very pleased.

"No. I just invited him. Kol had already had lunch with him and when I arrived we had drinks and he is really nice, and I thought, well maybe you would like him."

"I am really not interested."- Elena said-"I am ok the way I am. I don't need a man to be happy."

Y/N puffed away rolling her eyes on the other line and with a little all right, she said that she will see her friend at the designated bar in a little while. Both women hung up. Elena got into her car and drove away. She had to swing by the Mystic Star, the boutique hotel in the French Quarter she and her friends were running. She needed to change before she went to the party.

Kol's house

"Are you ready?"- Kol asked his brother as took the key of his car.

"I am not going. You have fun."- Elijah replied.

"You are going to stay here and mope around all evening? Hey, this is not you. Come on. Hayley played us both. Just forget it. Done and dusted. Look at me. I got myself a woman, and she is great."

"I don't know how you could just go over everything, forgiving me, and - I thought I would have a family with her."- Elijah said.

"We were two fools, and now- we will just look forward. I really don't know why we were fighting over her in the first place."- Kol said-"Come on, it's only a drink. Oh, I forgot to tell you that Camille called. She was trying to get in touch with you and I told her that you threw your phone in the Mississippi the other day."

"Yeah."- Elijah said-"I met her accidentally after I left you, forgot to tell you."

"She was always swooning over you."- Kol said-"did she finally ask you out?"

"It was nothing like that. She wanted to know if I would donate my sperm to the fertility bank."

"And?"

" What do you mean - and? I told her to destroy it. What is the matter with you? Why would I give it to the bank. And then wonder if there is a child of mine somewhere in the world"- Elijah said-"I want the - traditional way. Fall in love, get married and then start a family. I am like that. Can't help it."

"The way you are so ragged looking, no one would ever think you want the whole traditional package"- Klaus said-"are you coming or not? This is the last call."

Elijah didn't know what he wanted really, and making a whatever face and followed his brothers out.

At Rousseau's

Bonnie gave her friends a group hug as they presented her with her birthday present. It was a wishing ball gratitude globe. It was a very unique gift, and Bonnie was so happy as Y/N now said.

"Even though it is your wish ball to put your dreams and thanks in, but we have also written something to you and put it in, but you can read it later."- Y/N explained. 

"Oh, thank you, you guys."- Bonnie was gushing-"this is like the weirdest gift ever!"

"It is your 30th and we kind of thought we have to do something remarkable."- Elena added.

"This is what we will do then. We will all right today what we wish for- you both, too. And then we will read it when we are 40."- Bonnie said.

"OMG! Like some sort of time-capsule thing. I love it- yes, let's do it."- Y/N found it great.

"Ok"- Bonnie said-"but before that. Champagne!"

The owner Marcel now brought the bottle of champagne over to them. 

"This is now for the three of us."- Bonnie said-"I just want to say- well- easy- to US. To my best friends and since we are doing loads of wishing- I am wishing - may we get the guys of our dreams! Why not- we already have jobs of our dreams- so - "

Both Elena and Y/N agreed and raising their glasses together with their friend Bonnie, they cheered a little and took a sip. 

Kol and Elijah walked through the doors in the bar and Y/N went straight up to her boyfriend greeting him with a small shared kiss on the lips. All of them then went up to Bonnie, with the birthday wishes, and Y/N finally introduced everyone to the Mikaelson brothers.

"Hello"- Elijah said as he sort of shook hands with Elena. Klaus also mumbled something, but was whisked away by Marcel as he wanted to talk about some business. 

Soon Kai Parker arrived with his sister Jo. Kai was Bonnie's boyfriend of two years. After, they all shared a drink of champagne, Sophie Deveraux, who was working at the hotel as the chef arrived with a small symbolic cake, the real party began.

Bourbon was now flowing, as well as more champagne. The place was in full swing, jazz music was playing. They all worked hard, but they all partied hard as well. 

Well, except for Elena and Elijah. She was hanging at the corner of the bar and he sipped his beer not far from her. At one moment as she put her phone down after dealing with something urgent at the hotel, huffing a bit. Elijah looked at her direction and said-

"Hi. Can't get away from work?"

"Not when you are in Hotel business"- Elena said.

"Yeah, Kol mentioned you three bought a run down house and transformed it into a Hotel. Brave."- Elijah said.

"Determined. We came to New Orleans for a vacation, fell in love with and wanted to stay."- Elena said.

"Simple as that?!"- Elijah remarked.

"Simple as that!"- Elena said.

"You really know what you want out of life"-

"Pretty much"- Elena replied-"don't you?"

"I had an idea, but now- not anymore. I am in between jobs. In between life actually."- Elijah replied.

"Wow. What happened?"- Elena asked.

'A lot of things. Don't really want to talk about it. It's not worth it."

"Sometimes it is really great to kick the past to the curb and start fresh, we have done it and it's been great ever since"

Elijah smiled a little now.

"What is funny?"- Elena wanted ti know.

"Nothing. My brother said that this party would improve my mood."

"Really?"- Elena smiled back at Elijah raising her eyebrow.

"Really!"- Elijah said-"Want another drink?"

"Yeah, fruit cocktail."

"Fruit cocktail?"- Elijah was a little bit surprised.

"Someone has to work in the morning"- Elena said.

"Are you like this on your own birthday?"

"Almost"- Elena replied.

"A thoroughly good girl, right?"

"I had my share of bad, but I try to be as best as I can be"- Elena replied-"and you are a good boy turned bad?"

"Let's say that I am goung through a phase"

"I can relate to that"- Elena said.

"Hey, you two- I see you are having fun. I knew you would hit it. I told Kol we should create a semi- blind date for Elena and Elijah. She has not had a proper date since- forever. And Elijah just broke off his engagement, oh- I shouldn't - sorry"- Cariline said.

Y/N now burst between them. apologizing for her friend.

"She is drunk"- Elena said looking Elijah, who was pissed off as tge blonde mentioned his break up.

Elena now waved at Bonnie to come get Caroline.

As Klaus actually whisked his girlfriend away, Elena apologized for her friend.

"She is not really insesitive like that."

"It's ok. As you said - she is drunk."-Elijah played it down now-"it's true. It's kind of the other way around. We- my ex and I called it off."

"It's tough, I know."- Elijah said.

"Well- she- my ex- realized that. It's complicated."

"Ok, you don't have to tell me"- Elena said.

"I don't know why, but it feels like I can tell you anything"

"Yeah?"- Elena was flattered.

"Yeah."

"Ok-"

"Can we go out - for a walk, maybe? It's stifling here a bit"- Elijah suggested.

"Sure."- Elena took her bag and they both walked out taking the direction to the sea, Elijah now telling her about him, his ex Hayley and her boyfriend Tyler.

"He was in Afghanistan, and he went missing. Later he was pronounced dead as they found a burnt corpse, and, to cut it short, after five years he appeared. He was imprisoned. Anyway, he returned and- well, I saw them talking and the way they looked at one another. It was like they were in another planet at that moment. But not only that- it's what she said to him-"

"What did she say?"-Elena asked. 

They sat down on a bench now.

Elijah sighed a little bit and then continued-"She said that whenever she was feeling bad or sad or things were difficult, she thought of him and it was kind of her happy place. She was in love with him, she never stopped. They got married a week ago."

"Oh-"- Elena let out- and then turned to him and completely unexpectedly simply kissed him.
