The situation in Bangladesh is now absolute shit. Everything got fucked up so quick.

Jahangir Nagar University has been attacked by Bangladesh Chatro League, ordered by Sheikh Hasina herself. Dhaka University students have been attacked viciously by Chatro league members and police forces in Dhaka. More than 100 injured, or God knows how many because there is so much Casuality. Sheikh Hasina gave a briefing which was broadcasted nationwide a long ago. There, she says that those who are protest against Quota system are Terrorist and they should be brought upon Infront of the Law immediately.

Yesterday, she called the students traitor, and now she is calling them terrorist. Even though my cousin's (I'll call her Saba) friends were fleeing from their dorms with their lives, and they were shot in the head, leg, chest immediately even though they had no weapons to defend themselves. So many young students are now injured, and they are hiding away in their dorms as the Police Force are now guarding their whole university and occasionally beating them for no reason.

In the aspect of sin, our Deen teaches us to not look at how small the sin is, but look at how Great the One that we have disobeyed.

The same applies when it comes to Allah’s blessings — don’t look at how small the blessing is, because we will surely end up belittling it; instead look at how Great the One Who gives that blessing.

🌺 ❛Give thanks to Allah, and whoever gives thanks, he gives thanks for [the good of] his own self. And whoever is unthankful, then verily, Allah is All-Rich (i.e. free of all needs), Worthy of all praise.❜ 【Surah Luqman 31:12】

We learn that acknowledging Allah’s blessings is in fact a Sunnah of the Prophets ‘alayhumus-salaam, and the righteous. But it’s really not sufficient to simply express gratitude with our tongue. Our shukr must also be manifested through actions that are pleasing to Allah. Sheikh Saleh al-Fawzan hafidhahullah said that shukr to Allah has 3 pillars:

🌿 (1) That we do shukr with the tongue. Allah says: ❛And proclaim the ni’mah of your Rabb.❜ 【Surah ad-Duha 93:1】

🌿 (2) That we acknowledge and have full certainty that the blessing comes from Allah alone, and not from anyone else.

🌿 (3) That we use the blessings in obedience to Allah. 【Source: ShahihFiqih】

One of the biggest mistakes when it comes to gratitude is that we automatically think about counting our blessings, and not using our blessings. A lot of times when we talk about gratitude, we automatically limit it to ash-shukur bil-lisan, i.e. thanking Allah with our tongue.

If Allah has made a person wealthy, and he says “Alhamdulillah that I’m rich” day and night, but doesn’t use that wealth lillahi ta’ala, then he will still meet Allah as an ungrateful servant.

If Allah gives good health to a person, and she says “Alhamdulillah I’m healthy”, but uses that health in a way that displeases Allah, she will still meet Him as an ungrateful servant.

The actual key function of every single blessing that Allah has given us — and what He will ask on the Day of Judgment — is how we use that blessing.

In Surah Saba’ 34:13, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said to the family of Prophet Dawud ‘alayhis-salaam: ❛Work in gratitude, o family of Dawud…❜ meaning, show your gratitude with what Allah has given by using it in a way that is beneficial in the His Sight.

How have we used that wealth, that privilege, that health, that power, that stature, that eloquence, that knowledge, that social network — all of them — how have we used them to seek the rida of Allah, to benefit the Deen of Allah, to help the creations of Allah?

🌿 Sheikh ‘Abd Ar-Rahman As-Sa’di wrote: ❛The grateful ones are those who recognize the blessings of their Rabb, humble themselves towards Allah, love Him, and then use those blessings in the service and pleasure of their Master.❜ 【Taysir Al-Kareem Ar-Rahman】

May Allah make us amongst His grateful servants, who utilise His blessings in a manner that He is pleased with.

Praising the beautiful Zeba Bakhtiar and her role as a mother, KRK says that Mahira Khan looks fine in the film and KRK is surprised to see how she is starring against SRK in Raees. Jumping on Jawed Sheikh’s role in the movie, KRK says that he has given a somewhat ok performance. “If the film had Fawad Afzal or Ali Zafar as the male lead then it would have been perfect,” KRK remarks. While the Pakistani industry appreciates Momina Duraid for her excellent pieces of work such as Humsafar, KRK says, “The director of the film is a female who doesn’t know how to direct the film as she doesn’t know when to start a scene and when to end it” KRK also claims that the editing is very poor. It only explores how love and hate go side by side. The film is more of a family type and is all about emotions so it doesn’t have any action scenes. The climax of the film is excellent.” KRK also believes that dialogues and the music of the film are also just ok and are not that good. Talking about the screenplay, KRK says, “The screenplay isn’t that good, the starting of the film is fine but the scene at the interval steals the show whereas the second half of the film is also fine. Saba and Irtiza get married, but Saba doesn’t accept Irtiza and blames him for what happened to her family. Saba, on the other hand, feels that her curse came true and she holds herself responsible for Saman’s death. Saman meets an accident and dies telling Saba to look after her husband and her son. Have you watched Maat? What did you think of it?

I watched Maat when it was airing and that’s the drama that made me fall in love with Saba Qamar and Aamina Sheikh. The story wasn’t anything extraordinary but its the acting that drove that drama. 

They shared so much chemistry, vulnerability, none of them were trying to outdo the other and gave each other that space to shine (even though they didn’t have many scenes together). I think anyone who wants to be an actress in Pakistan should watch this drama because Saba and Aamina portray two completely different personalities and played their parts to perfection.

IMPORTANT FACTS ON RAFDHISM

1. How did Rafidhism start?

Sheikhul Islam raḥimahullāh said: ''The people of knowledge have mentioned that Rafdhism began with the heretic (zindīq), 'Abdullāh ibn Saba'; the one who pretended to be a Muslim outwardly, although he was actually a Jew inwardly.''

Similarly, Al-Ājurrī raḥimahullāh said:

'' 'Abdullāh ibn Saba' pretended to be a Muslim. He portrayed an image of one who commanded with good and forbade evil until he gained a following in the various regions (of the Islamic state). Thereafter he began criticising the rulers, then 'Uthman radhiyāhu 'anhu, then Abū Bakr and 'Umar radhiyāhu 'anhumā, then he pretended to show loyalty and allegiance to 'Ali radhiyāhu 'anhu.''

2. When does a person become a Rafidhi?

Adh-Dhahabi cited in 'Siyar A'lām An-Nubalā' (10/31) that:

''Al-Buwaiṭī said, I asked Ash-Shāfi'ī, can I pray behind a Rafidhi? He replied, Don't pray behind a Rafidhi, nor a Qadari, nor a Murji'ī! I said, describe them to us. He (Ash-Shāfi'ī) said: Whoever says Īmān is merely speech (i.e. testification) is a Murji', whoever says Abū Bakr and 'Umar are not the (true) leaders is a Rafidhi, and whoever attributes mash'īah (Will) to himself is a Qadari. ''

Al-Ḥāfidh (Ibn Ḥajar) mentioned in the introduction to Al-Fat-ḥ (p. 646) that:

''Shi'ism relates to loving 'Ali and favouring him over the Ṣaḥābah, but if one favours Ali over Abu Bakr and Umar in particular then he is an extreme Shi'i; also known as a Rafidhi. And if this is coupled with insult and explicit hatred, then he is an extreme Rafidhi...''

3. Why are they called Rafidha?

Sheikh Muqbil raḥimhullāh said:

'' The Rafidha (rejectors) are those who rejected Zaid Ibn 'Ali; because when they asked him concerning Abū Bakr and 'Umar he sought mercy for them. So they said, we reject you, and he responded to them: Go! For you are the Rafidha (rejectors).''

4. Did 'Ali (radhiyllahu 'anhu) condone the Rafidha?

Sheikhul Islam raḥimhullāh said:

''It is reported from 'Ali with sound chains of narration that he said: 'No one who favours me over Abū Bakr and 'Umar is brought to me except that I will lash them the lashing of a false claimant/ slanderor (Ḥadd Al-Muftari).''

It is also reported through various chains that ('Ali radhiyallahu anhu) said while on the pulpit in Kufa:

''The best from this ummah after its prophet is Abū Bakr and 'Umar.''
