Methods of travel between the Infinite Realms and the Living Realm
Note: it is tempting to think of the division, or Veil, as a membrane between the realms. In reality, it is not a skin or wall made of any substance. Rather, it is simply the place where an ectoplasmic reality-space and a mundane-matter reality-space rest against one another. It is less like a film of oil floating on a body of water, and more like the glassy surface of the body of water itself. The water holds itself together with surface tension and you can see the divide, but there is nothing actually separating the water and the air. We will colloquially refer to the Veil as "self-healing", but it's really more like it is settling. Simply the increasingly-entropic nature of the mundane reality and the decreasingly-entropic nature of the ectoplasmic reality finding a steady point they're both happy with.
1. Slicing a hole in the division.
Some ghosts specialize in this. It's fairly easy if you have a good sense of fourth-dimensional space and a sharp edge. The cut will self-heal, though, especially if it's messy, so it can be difficult to open a wider gap or leave it open for more than a moment. The mechanics of the slicing are fairly simple; like a shark fin about to surface, a blade that's almost touching the division causes currents that disrupt the fields enough to allow for the tip to easily pass through (see Method 3 below for further explanation), and then the wider part of the blade increases the size of the cut. The trick is in not touching the tip to the Veil before it's been destabilized. Perfektigas Tranĉadon is a good practical guide.
2. Punching a hole in the division.
With enough force (the true amount necessary is not exactly known, but it is known to be colossal), the division can be pushed and broken. This results in a hole which takes a long time to close on its own and produces a number of "shards" or "bubbles" of the division, which can knock their surroundings askew in the fourth dimension. These shards introduce incontinuities in spacetime, which will quickly equalibriate but momentarily pose a threat to laws maintained by continuous spacetime. The punching process also results in a jet of reality-material from the entrance side to the exit side. For further information, consider reading Continuous Space: Geometry and the Infinite Realms. This is the method perfected by the Ring of Rage, and it can also be achieved by any object with enough momentum (that is, velocity times the sum of ectoplasmic mass and mundane mass) being flung at the right fourth-dimensional angle.
3. Exciting the division until it is permeable.
If the spaces in realities on either side of one area are sufficiently energized, the Veil in that area can loosen up into a chaotic mixture of mundane and ectoplasmic space, which is not practically impossible to pass through like a smooth division is. This creates an illusion of a smooth gradient between mundane and ectoplasmic reality— in actuality, a space cannot be simultaneously ectoplasmic and mundane. This would be an impossibility, and, if it impossibly came to be, result in totality-altering paradoxes¹. It's more like tiny pockets of reality too interspersed to be noticeable, like an emulsion of milkfat in water (milk) or an aerosol of water in air (fog). The biggest issues with this method are (1) exciting the ectoplasmic field and quantum field simultaneously and (2) containing the excitement such that it doesn't dissipate in the Living Realm and/or coalesce in the Infinite Realms. Thus far, this is the only portaling method managed by mundane technology, and it is also the one usually used by summonings which do not rely on the summoned ghost for transportation (or fail to peovide transportation at all). Use of Ectoenergetic Excitement Alongside Gauge Field Dynamics in Ectoplasmic Portalling, being written by living scientists, is not a perfect explanation of the "how" or "why", but it explains the "what" pretty nicely.
4. Teleporting.
Ghosts with an ability to rewrite their position in spacetime, via whatever method, generally have no more issue moving interdimensionally than moving intradimensionally. The division only acts as a barrier when moving continuously. If your "teleportation" has issues with interdimensional movement being stopped at the division, it is possible you are actually moving continuously and simply too quickly or abstractly to notice.
5. Simply shifting your balance.
An item or entity which is positioned perfectly on the division can "tip over" onto one side or the other without facing any resistance. This is largely not an actionable method, as it is practically-impossible to obtain the perfect positioning and would require using one of the other methods to obtain it in the first place. Additionally, the smallest destabilization in fourth-dimensional space will tip the object, and the "fall" is not reversible. While a balance on the division is technically at equilibrium, it is a weak equalibrium in this sense and is not stable. An object which is stable in a state of being wholly ectoplasmic and mundane simultaneously (an entity fitting this description is known as a "true halfa", "Limenarch", "owuw-uwow", or y'know just their name that they go by for once) is, however, always positioned perfectly along that balance, and can shift one way or the other without being disrupted. There is no other writing published on this topic that I can find, so you'll just have to take my word on it.
6. Bringing one space to another.
On rare occasions, usually the work of powerful beings with domains in space or reality, such as certain Ancients or the Ghost King, an area of one reality is moved to an area previously occupied by another. In this circumstance, the shift generally causes enough chaos and mixing that the division is permeable. If it happens quickly or instantaneously, though, and the reality that was previously occupying the space is not moved out of the way, the impact with the division can be sudden and dangerous.
7. Entering a black hole.
I'm not entirely sure why this happens. The mundane matter that enters a black hole in the Living Realm measurably becomes a part of the black hole itself, so why does it also appear in the Infinite Realms? Does this disrupt the conservation of matter/energy, or are the two dimensions already on opposite sides of that coin? It seems impossible to tell, as the Infinite Realms have an infinite hypervolume. This is a puzzle that hasn't been solved yet, to my knowledge. Grab something made out of mundane matter and try it sometime, if you can survive immeasurable gravitational pull. It's pretty mind-boggling.
8. Using a natural portal.
Most of the phenomena described above can happen without intentional cause, thus forming a short-lived natural portal. When influenced by certain currents in ectoplasmic flow, these passages can be at odd temporal angles as well as spacial. Thus a natural portal is more likely to cross time than an intentional portal, only a few methods and users of which have been noted to be capable of transtemporal travel. There are not currently any known instances of mundane matter or energy causing a portal which crosses time. Most community centers in the Infinite Realms will have resources available for tracking natural portals.
¹ Trust me, I'd know.
#Going fast enough that you never collide with the division on any particular quarterstep: how did you do that. the realities dont have a#framerate let alone quartersteps. also the veil is zero-hypervolume (its a 3-dimensional division) so theres nothing to collide with in 4d#space. how did you do that. stop making that 'yahoo' noise. As someone who was a nerdy teenage boy in the early 2010s I too suffered irreversible damage to my brain chemistry thanks to the movie Scott Pilgrim vs the World
A movie that resulted in most boys of my generation either wishing they were Scott and going down the incel rabbit hole, or wishing they were Ramona and taking E
You can guess which one I was
This eventually resulted in me also reading the comic trilogy and realizing that WOW Scott Pilgrim fucking sucks
I later found out through reading Seconds that Bryan Lee O'Malley just loves writing utter shithead protagonists and then putting them through hell until they come out better the other side
It's safe to say I enjoyed the comic better. In fact I think the movie was very much made with those incel Scott fans in mind
Now in comes Scott Pilgrim Takes Off! a show made to be the diametric opposite of the movie. A show made for us, the Ramona fans who took E
Y'all this show reads like official Scott Pilgrim AU fanfiction and I mean that in the best way possible
The series takes the focus away from Scott and instead spends its run time humanizing EVERYONE ELSE. Scott may still be the title character, but this isn't his story anymore
This is everyone's story. His friends, the exes, and especially Ramona, who takes the leading role in the show. And everyone has the space to shine, grow and develop
In the comics Scott and Ramona are so far in their own heads that they can't see the world around them properly, and the movie is too busy sucking Scott's dick, but this show brings that world to life
So if you wanna see Ramona go on her own adventure, watch Knives grow past her crush on Scott, and see all the many ways the exes can become better people
FUCKING WATCH THAT SHOW!
I could ramble about every last episode bit by bit, but tbh y'all should experience this on your own
I hadn't expected to love new Scott Pilgrim media in the year of our devil 2023, but here we are I guess
#self indulgence#scott pilgrim takes off#scott pilgrim#scott pilgrim anime#also I may need to write some kim x roxy fanfiction later

I’ve got a nsfw literati prompt 🙏
could you write something along the lines of Jess helping Rory de stress after constant studying? 👀
Canon compliant. Set in season 3, sometime in spring I guess? At the time Lorelai started seeing Alex. Not in any way connected to my story Things I'd never say.
Rory heard a light tap on her window and stood up from her desk, stretching tired muscles to open the window for Jess. She pushed the frame up and looked outside to find her boyfriend standing there with a to-go cup of coffee from Luke's.
"Hey," he said giving the coffee to her.
"Bless you!" She took it gratefully, gulping hungrily.
"You didn't come by the diner after school, thought you might need some fuel."
"Yeah, I had to study. I have this stupid history test tomorrow," Rory groaned.
"When do you think you're gonna be done with it?"
"About ten, maybe?" He nodded in response.
"I'll leave you to it then," he gave her a small smile and almost turned to leave, when she tugged on his arm, and pressed her lips to his in a brief kiss.
"Thank you for the coffee, you're my hero."
"No problem."
~xxx~
A little after ten Rory stood up from her chair, every verterbra creaking in protest from being in the same position for too long. She was just putting her books and notepads away when she heard a tap on her window once again. She smiled to herself and went to open it for the second time that night.
"Hey, how's your studying going?" Jess asked intertwining his fingers with hers through the frame.
"I just finished. Wanna come in for a bit?"
"Where's your mom?"
"She's staying at Alex's tonight."
"Huh," he smirked at that piece of information. Coming here was a right choice after all. He sneaked inside with the grace of a cat, closing the window behind him. Rory plopped on her back across the bed.
"I'm exhausted, all those dates and names, I have no idea how I'm gonna remember it all tomorrow, so much cramming with only one cup of coffee is an impossible task." She whined. Jess came to lie next to her, taking her hand in his.
"I know a great way to help you relax," he started.
"Which is?" She turned to look at him.
"Orgasm," he smirked.
She gulped nervously. She let him touch her boobs through her clothes for the first time a few weeks ago, and since then Jess was dropping hints about doing something more, but she still wasn't ready to have sex with him. She didn't want to offend him, but didn't want to go all the way either. It was quite a predicament.
"Uhh... I'm not... You know..."
"I know. You don't have to have sex to get an orgasm, you know?" He turned to look at her only to catch her turning away from him, her cheeks flaming red.
"Oh..." She didn't know how to react to that. What did he expect?
"It's okay if you're not ready for that either," he squeezed her fingers tighter in reassurance.
A long pause followed. Jess seemed relaxed, enjoying just being next to her, while Rory's thoughts were racing a mile a minute. Was she ready for anything sexual at all? It sounded kind of enticing. Scary, but enticing nonetheless. And her mom wasn't going to be home till morning. But she had a test tomorrow, so she couldn't be late for school. She didn't want the repeat of her first year with that meltdown about a Shakespear test. Then again, it wasn't awfully late yet, and she could use some relaxation.... She squeezed Jess's fingers to get his attention, and asked "What else can we do for... You know, uh, orgasm?" She could see his smirk out of the corner of her eye. She still didn't dare to look at him directly, too embarrassed and shy about the whole conversation.
"Remember how I touched your breasts the other day? I can touch you like that down there too. Through the clothes. Or not. If you want."
"Okay," she whispered after a moment of hesitation. She felt him move to hover above her. They locked eyes before he pressed a soft kiss to her lips, coaxing her to relax. The very next second her instincts kicked in and she lost herself in the kiss, like she always did with him.
They were making out for a bit until she felt his palm covering her breast gently. He started massaging it, kneading and rolling her nipple between his deft fingers. She moaned into his mouth. She wasn't wearing a bra underneath her sweatshirt, so she could feel everything. Encouraged by her reactions he went to kiss and suck on the sensitive skin of her neck. His hand never leaving her chest, alternating between her soft mounds. Rory was clutching at his back, threading fingers through his hair, pulling his head closer to her neck. She loved it when he kissed her neck. Then slowly his hand started travelling lower until it came to the juncture between her legs. She pressed them together, losing focus for a second. He looked up at her "May I?" She nodded shakily and relaxed her thighs. His palm landed on her pubic bone and just settled there, his fingers between her legs, applying pressure and heat to the most intimate spot even through her sweatpants. His eyes went completely dark, contrasting to his usual hazel shade. Her lips parted in anticipation, and he started rubbing her softly, careful not to scare her with overwhelming sensations. It felt weird in a way that she never let anyone do that to her, but she still didn't quite understand what she was supposed to be feeling. And then.... He found her clit and everything changed. She gasped suddenly at the shock of feeling like an electric current went through her limbs.
Jess focused on that spot he found, and started rubbing her there in circles, increasing the pressure some. Her eyes closed and she was washed with pleasure she's never felt before. He kept caressing her methodically, tirelessly until her breathing got shallow and with one final moan she climaxed in front of him.
"There you go," he whispered pressing a soft kiss to her forehead, extracting his hand from between her legs slowly.
Rory was lying there with her eyes closed, breathing erratic, her mind completely blank of all the thoughts and concerns. She blindly reached for him, and he intertwined their fingers one more time. Watching her was such a treat. Looking at her pale cheeks gaining color, and then shining bright pink with arousal, her lips parting, her tongue darting out to lick them, her chest rising and falling, nipples hard, poking through the fabric. She was a vision. And he was pretty sure he just gave her the first ever orgasm of her life.

Hey, I saw that your requests are open!
If you don't mind, could you write headcanons about Reader is a new employee at Pizzaplex? They are struggling with their new responsibilities, and Animatronics + Vanessa are trying to help them. (If too many characters, you can write just with Glamrock Freddy).
I'm starting work soon and I'm a little afraid of it, haha! Anyway, have a good day/night!
Of course! Sorry if it's short! Note: reader is not their s/o it's just another co worker.
Freddy immediately helps you out when he sees you struggling trying to figure something out, no matter what your job is. He'll get you what you need and a few pointers for the next time you have to do it. He'll also answer any questions you have. If it's something he doesn't have any access to which is rare, he'll try and find you someone who does.
He wouldn't, like straight up he doesn't give a fuck. He doesn't like his co-workers all too much at all, especially human ones because of how scared they are of him not that he can really blame them for it. I mean wouldn't you be scared of someone that can literally tear you apart. Most he'll do maybe is tell someone else that you need help before walking off.
Oh she'll help you but she'll be bragging the entire time about how great she is (which of course is the front she puts up in front of all her co-workers). If you get annoyed easily by people like that don't ask her for help. If she can't even do it, she won't ask for more help, she'll try and push yourself to do it and will get mad at you if you suggest asking someone else. Is she not good enough for you?
Basically Freddy number two, she loves helping people. If you're socially awkward though and don't like talking much it might not be your best choice because Chica is a chatter box. She'll find anything and everything to talk about while she's helping you especially if it's about food. Though if you don't mind her talking, she's super helpful if you guys need extra help anyways because she fills them in on everything if you don't want to.
Sundrop - ☀️
He'll help you as long as you're in the daycare, if you're not then well there's nothing he can do since he can't leave the children alone. He'll probably ask another co-worker that can leave to help you out. He knows everything about the daycare so there's no way what you need help with that he can't fix it for you.
Moondrop - 🌙
Nope basically another monty, except he won't be as annoyed. He is too busy, he has other stuff to worry about then you. He'll just take you to someone that can help you out with what you need before leaving. He still wants to make sure you're doing your job like your supposed to and not being naughty~
Really annoyed about it, but will help and give you tips. She really only does that so that you won't be a problem again in the future. Can actually be nice sometimes but mostly not because she's too tired to deal with other people's shit. That means get any and all questions that you need answered out now or you'll have to find someone else to help you out besides her.

Hi I was wondering if you could do a Roxie x reader thing where they're on a cozy lite date, both making art (I think Roxie is an artist I can't remember)
my first request back in a while! I love cozy dates :D enjoy!
ONESHOT: ROXIE RICHTER X READER ON A COZY DATE
There was silence between Roxie and Y/N as the two of them were deeply focused on their artwork. Light music played in the background and the sun shone through the window. Roxie was intensely sketching while Y/N was painting on a large canvas.
“Can I see the sketch yet?” Y/N asked, not taking their eyes off of the canvas.
“No way! It’s a surprise,” Roxie replied, also not taking her eyes off the paper. “How’s your painting coming?”
“Good… Lots of purple,” Y/N chuckled, moving out of the way so Roxie could see the entire canvas.
“What… Is it…?” Roxie asked, turning her head.
“I’m not so sure either…” Y/N replied. “A bunch of shapes, I guess. Abstract art was the vibe today.”
“It looks good! I’d put that in a museum,” Roxie smiled.
Y/N blushed. “Thanks, babe. Now can I see what you’re working on?”
“You’re so impatient! It’s still a surprise!” Roxie laughed. Y/N playfully rolled their eyes and went back to their canvas.
“I’m getting kinda hungry, you wanna get pizza after this?” They asked.
“Absolutely!” Roxie replied. “You got purple on your face.” She said, looking up at Y/N. She grabbed a napkin and wiped purple paint off of their cheek.
“Thanks,” Y/N blushed again. “What kind of pizza should we get?”
“Pepperoni! No, Hawaiian! Wait, no-” Roxie couldn’t make up her mind.
“How about plain cheese to keep it simple,” Y/N suggested.
“Good thinking,” Roxie smiled.
Y/N took a break from their canvas to eat pizza, but Roxie brought her sketch with her. She was determined to get it done before going home.
“That must be a pretty important sketch, huh?” Y/N joked.
“Hush! I’m almost done!” Roxie was deeply focused, more than ever before. “I’m just putting on the finishing touches.”
“Your pizza is gonna get cold,” Y/N pointed out.
“Aaaaaaand… Done!” Roxie announced, slamming her pencil down.
“Can I see it now?” Y/N smiled.
“Don’t laugh,” Roxie blushed. “You promise?”
“Yes, I promise.”
Roxie held up her sketch. “It’s you! Painting your shapes painting!”
“Woah, Rox! That’s… That’s so cool!” Y/N couldn’t contain their excitement. “I love it!” “I’m really glad you do,” Roxie blushed. “I was kind of scared you wouldn’t.”
“Aw,” Y/N said, pulling Roxie into a hug. “I love how thoughtful you are.” They kissed her on the cheek and fell back into the hug.

After The Blackout: A Ninjago Oneshot
(AO3 link HERE)
“I know that junkyards aren’t supposed to be the epitome of cleanliness, but this?” Jay gestured to the carnage around them all, “This is ridiculous!”
Truly, the junkyard was in a sorry state. Tech Wu and the nindroids had done a number on the old place. Car parts and pieces of broken technology that had once been in their own organized piles now lay strewn across the area in wanton disarray.
Jay groaned, “My parents are so gonna have an aneurysm when they get back.”
“And they’ll most likely need to get a new camper,” Zane added.
“Oh no!”
Jay rushed over to what had once been his parents’ camper. It lay dejectedly on its side. The floor was blown out from when the Nindroids’ lasers had blasted through, and the inside was almost impossible to see through from how much of the camper’s contents had been jostled about.
Jay could feel his chest tightening as he gingerly crawled past the jagged metal into the clutter. Other people may have taken one look and called his parents hoarders, but Jay knew better. Ed and Edna Walker were collectors. They were artists. They were the embodiment of the phrase “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. All kinds of things made their way to the junkyard: glass bottles, tires, discarded toys. . . things that others had deemed worthless. But in the Walker family, everything was worth saving. Glass shards could be turned into windchimes, worn out tires could be used in abstract sculptures, and old toys—Jay spotted a patch of blue amongst the wreckage, and recognized his childhood stuffie, Mr. Cuddlywump—old toys could be given new homes.
Jay held Mr. Cuddlywump close to his chest, taking in the mess of what was once his home. Sure, he didn’t live there anymore, but his parents had, and he had a lifetime of memories with them here. As much as he’d played up being embarrassed about the fact he was born in a junkyard, Jay had still loved it here.
He felt the weight of a hand on his shoulder and looked up at Zane, who gave him a soft smile. “Your parents are very resilient, Jay, they will rebuild.”
“Yeah, and once all this nindroid business is taken care of, we can help them!” Cole added from behind. Kai, who was leaning on Cole for support, nodded in agreement.
Just then, Nya and Pixal joined the group. Nya made eye contact with Jay and he saw the pity on her face. His stomach twisted painfully as she said, “Jay, I’m so sorry.”
Jay turned his head and quickly dashed away the tears that had crept up on him.
“It’s okay, Nya, I’ll be fine.” With a sigh, he stood up, “Zane’s right, my parents are strong. They may be sad at first, but they’ll get through this and rebuild an even better home. And they’ll do it with a smile on their faces like they always do when something goes wrong.” Jay turned to face his friends and flashed his iconic Jay Walker Smile, so they’d think he was okay.
Pixal spoke up, “I don’t mean to change the subject, but we need to plan our next course of action.
“You’re right,” Nya replied, “How’s the analyzation of that scale going, Pix? Is it okay if I call ya Pix?”
“If you would like,” Pixal answered with a smile. “Unfortunately, due to how small the sample is, I most likely will not have a full analysis until sometime tomorrow.”
“Then we should waste no more time and get back to the city.” Zane said, “I'll use my Falcon Vision to warn Lloyd of our findings.”
* * *
“Okay, that’s a wrap, everyone!” Nya announced, “Let’s hope this message reaches Lloyd and Sensei Garmadon in time.” She stepped back from the falcon so that Zane could make the final preparations to send it on its way. Zane pushed a few buttons on the falcon’s back and then after petting its head, he tossed it into the air. The mechanical bird flew off, disappearing into the blue of the sky.
“I hope Lloyd and Sensei G are doing okay.” Kai said, looking out toward the horizon.
Zane nodded in agreement and Nya whispered a quick prayer to the First Spinjitsu Master for their safety. Shadows were growing longer throughout the junkyard as the sun sank lower.
“We should set off for New Ninjago City as soon as possible,” Pixal said, “We need to reach Cyrus Borg so that he can help me research the scale.”
“And so he can tell us how to properly use our technoblades against the Digital Overlord.” Zane added.
“Couldn’t we wait until tomorrow?” Cole asked, “I’m not sure Kai can walk that far without resting first; Sensei Wu really banged him up good.”
Kai snorted in protest, “I appreciate the thought, Cole, but trust me, I’m fine. It’s just a few bruises. . .” Kai tried standing without Cole’s support and took a few wobbly steps forward. He grinned confidently, “See? I’m better than eve—whoah who-OAH—“
Cole caught Kai as he fell backwards. “You aren’t going anywhere until you’ve had a full night’s rest, Mister.”
“Since when did you become my mom?” Kai muttered, cheeks flushing.
“For once I’m siding with Cole,” Jay added. “We just fought a huge battle! Kai’s hurt, the sun is setting and I’m. . . so tired.” He leaned against the side of the camper and yawned for emphasis.
Pixal and Zane exchanged a look, and then both nodded in agreement.
“I will go gather materials that could be used for fuel and shelter,” Pixal said. “Zane, you should probably check Kai’s injuries. His left eye is turning purple.”
After Pixal left, Zane looked over a protesting Kai, and then started building a fire. Nya, Jay, and Cole got to work clearing some space in the camper for them to sleep. The air mattress that Ed and Edna slept on was freshly punctured and therefore unusable, but the three managed to salvage some blankets from the madness. They made sure to put an extra blanket where Kai would lay.
After a bit, Pixal returned. “I found some tarps to put over the hole in the camper,” She called. “And some wood for the fire!”
“Thanks, Pix!” Nya said, taking the tarps from her. Nya went to go hang them but ran into a bit of a snag: She was short. Undeterred, she grabbed a nearby crate and stood on it. Bingo! But now there was nothing to secure the tarp. Nya huffed, “Can someone get me some nails or something?”
Jay shot up from where he’d been sitting, “Oh, me, me! I can!” and dashed off toward the nearby shed. Nya smiled fondly after him. He was so sweet, like an eager little puppy.
The tarp began falling.
“Ack, dammit, why?” Nya cursed, trying to gather it back.
“Here, Nya, let me help!” Cole was suddenly right beside her, holding up one side of the troublesome tarp. Nya felt her face flush at the closeness, and at the genuine warmth in the look Cole was giving her. She realized too late that she was just staring at him, and quickly looked away, even more embarrassed now.
“Hey, you doing okay?” Cole asked, “I didn’t do anything did I?”
“Yes—I mean NO!” Nya cursed inwardly, “I mean—you’re fine, Cole, thanks for the help. You’re a good friend.” Nya snuck a glance at Cole to see how he’d react.
“I try,” Cole was looking away from her now. “Hey, Jay’s back!”
“Jay, hi!” Nya waved at who was supposed to be her boyfriend, and accidentally let go of her side of the tarp. She grasped for it and felt the crate she was standing on move out from under her.
*So this is how I die,* Nya thought to herself as the ground quickly approached, *done in because I saw a cute boy. . . pathetic.* Luckily, Nya had no more time for dramatic thoughts because someone caught her.
“Woah, that would’ve been a bad fall. You good?” That someone was Cole. His embrace was strong, but also soft and warm. Despite him not having his elemental powers, he smelled like fresh dirt after a rainfall.
Nya’s inner monologue was now full of profanities.
Jay looked as though he was about to say what Nya was currently thinking. Nya couldn’t blame him. This looked pretty bad. Not as bad as when he’d walked in on her and Cole about to kiss, but still, this wasn’t great. Nya mumbled a thanks, wriggled out of Cole’s grasp and after giving Jay a quick peck on the cheek, went to go check on Kai. Her cheeks felt as hot as the campfire she was headed towards.
*I am the scum of the earth.*
* * *
Cole wasn’t sure what he’d done to earn Jay’s silence and looks of disgust, but apparently he’d done something. Part of him wanted to ask Jay about it, but part of him also remembered their fight from earlier that day. Jay’s breath had been no joke. Cole hadn’t smelled anything that rank since he’d retried his duck chowder recipe a few weeks ago, and he didn’t feel like smelling it again. He still didn’t know what that whole fuss had been about and he wished someone would explain it to him.
Unfortunately Jay was making it pretty clear that he didn’t want to talk about it yet. He ignored any attempt at conversation from Cole and made it a point not to look him in the eye. Nya also wasn’t looking him in the eye for some reason which made Cole’s heart sink even lower. Had he missed out on some social cue from them? Why was Nya ignoring him too? Did she know why Jay was upset and was siding with him because he was her boyfriend? He tried to ask her about it but she had immediately changed the subject. So, Cole just left it alone after that. He went and sat by Kai and tried not to think about it until it was time to go to bed.
The inside of the camper was a tad cramped. It would have been worse if Zane and Pixal had been in there with them, but they’d offered to stay outside and keep watch since they technically didn’t need sleep. Still, between the four people in there and all the contents of the camper that they’d shoved to the side, it made for a bit of a tight squeeze. Cole tried to curl up small enough to be all the way underneath his and Jay’s blanket, but his feet still stuck out. Oh well.
The cracks in the tarp glowed orange from the campfire’s light, but it was pretty much pitch dark inside. The air was filled with the soft songs of crickets, and the not so soft snores of Kai, who lay next to Cole. If Kai wasn’t suffering from head trauma, Cole would one hundred percent have smacked him in the face with his pillow.
“Goodnight, Kai,” he whispered, pushing some hair out of his friend’s face. “Goodnight, Jay.”
“Hrrmph”
“Goodnight, Nya.”
“Night, Cole.”
Jay let out an obnoxiously long groan.
Cole rolled his eyes and then shut them. FSM, he was tired.
The silence lasted for only a few minutes.
Then Cole felt the blanket leaving him.
He peered over at Jay, who was now all curled up with the whole blanket. Cole tried tugging his side back, and managed to get a bit of it, but not enough to cover his torso. Cole tried to rectify this by scooting closer to Jay.
“Ew, Cole, scoot over!” Jay whispered crankily, kicking him away.
Cole tugged on the blanket, “Give me back my half of the blanket then!”
“But I’m cold,” Jay whined, pulling it closer, “Get your own blanket.”
“There isn’t any other blanket, Jay, there’s just this and the one Kai and Nya are sharing.”
“Could you guys keep it down?” Kai murmured, his voice thick with exhaustion, “M’trying to get my beauty sleep here.”
“Sure, no problem,” Cole replied, “as soon as Mr. Blanket Hog gives back his share of the warmth!”
“No, you’ll make the blanket stink!” Jay pouted.
“Excuse me?? You were the one shoving your month-old chili breath in my face this morning, you do not get to complain about smells. Besides, I took a bath like two days ago.”
“I rest my case.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
Nya groaned and propped herself up on an elbow, “Ugh, Jay, can you please just give him some of the blanket? He smells fine, just go to sleep!”
Jay huffed, “Traitor.” and gave begrudgingly gave Cole some blanket.
Cole was just getting comfy when he felt something freezing against his leg. He yelped and instinctively kicked behind him. “Jay, keep your cold, gross feet off of me!”
“It was Kai.”
“Kai’s asleep, you dumbass! And on the other side of me!” “Okay, it was Zane then.”
“Zane is outside!!”
“OH. MY. FIRST. SPINJITZU. MASTER.” Kai sat up abruptly and glared at the two of them, “I can’t with you two! Get out. Get out right now before I make you! You can come back when you’ve learned to get along.”
“It’s about time we took this outside,” Jay said, “I have some choice words I’ve been meaning to say.”
“Yeah?” Cole answered, “well lay them on me!”
Zane and Pixal were sat by the campfire, leaning against each other and holding hands. Then Jay and Cole stormed out of the camper with dour expressions on their faces.
“Are you two alright?” Zane asked.
“Stay out of this, Zane,” Jay dismissed, “This is between me and this jerk.”
“Jay, what’s this really about?” Cole asked, “I know this isn’t just about the blanket. Are you okay?”
Jay scoffed, “Sure, nice try, lowering my guard by pretending to be my friend: Typical Cole maneuver!” Jay threw a punch at Cole, who barely dodged it and backed away.
“What do you mean pretending? I thought we were friends!”
“Yeah?” Jay responded, kicking at him, “Well so did I!” Jay continued throwing punches and kicks , which Cole desperately dodged and parried.
“Jay, stop, come on, can’t we talk about this?”
“Since when does the mighty ‘master of earth’ talk about stuff instead of punching?”
Cole dodged another punch and grabbed Jay’s arm, pulling him close, “Dude, I’m worried about you, you’ve been acting weird all day!”
“Yeah, well it’s your fault!” Jay twisted out of Cole’s grasp and used his momentum to slam him to the ground. He stood over Cole, sweaty and panting.
Cole responded by moving his leg to trip Jay, who tumbled to the ground. They rolled around, pummeling each other until finally Cole managed to pin Jay down. He wriggled like a weird blue worm underneath him.
“I wish I had my powers right now!” Jay yelled, “I would zap your ass so hard!”
“If I had my powers, I’d bury you in the sand until you cooled off!” Cole retorted. “Seriously what is wrong with you today?”
“Don’t pretend like you don’t know!” Jay shouted, “We both know you like Nya!”
“Of course I like Nya, who doesn’t?” Cole protested, “She’s awesome! What’s wrong with that?”
“Everything!” Jay screamed, and kneed Cole in between the legs.
Stars and dark spots erupted in Cole’s vision. Tears filled his eyes and every muscle in his body felt like it had just been electrocuted. He keeled over immediately, “Aaaaaowwww—fffuck! Why are you like this??” He thought he might puke.
Cole didn’t see Jay rush towards the camper, but he heard the sound of him summoning his technoblade vehicle, and through blurry vision he watched Jay drive away.
Everyone rushed over to Cole who was starting to recover from Jay’s low blow.
“Cole, are you okay?” Zane reached out a hand to him. Cole took it and stood up slowly, groaning.
“No,” Cole winced, “I don’t know what the heck is happening. Does anyone know why Jay is so mad at me?” Cole looked directly at Nya, who averted her gaze.
There was a moment of silence and then Pixal replied, “I’m afraid it may be my doing.”
“What” Cole asked, confused, “Why would it be your fault, Pixal? You’re like, super nice!”
“It’s not your fault, Pix,” Nya interrupted, “It’s. . . it’s mine. I shouldn’t have let myself get so confused. Just because some robot—I mean, someone else—thinks that Cole may be the ‘perfect match’ for me doesn’t mean I have to agree. Only I get to choose who I love.”
“Wait, perfect match?” Kai said, “Perfect match as in boyfriend?”
“Correct,” Pixal responded. “She entered the perfect match console at Borg tower, and all of the data gathered indicated that Cole is her perfect match.”
Cole took a step back and raised his hands, “Wooooah okay I don’t know where you got your data from, Pixal, but there’s no way Nya and I would ever be a thing. Trust me. I’m not into her like that. Sorry, Nya.”
“I never saw that pairing as a possible outcome either.” Zane chimed in.
Nya looked confused. “But why have you and Jay been fighting over me all day?” “I wasn’t fighting Jay over you,” Cole protested, “He never flat out said what the problem was, he just tackled me, started calling me names and breathed in my face!”
“Speaking of, where did Jay go?” Kai asked.
“That way,” Pixal pointed off into the distance.
“I feel kinda bad,” Cole mused, “he thinks I got with you behind his back? No wonder he was so pissed! I’m his best friend! He probably feels so betrayed right now.”
“Yeah,” Nya hugged herself, “Betrayed.” She sighed, “This wouldn’t have happened if I’d just told Jay what I saw instead of trying to figure things out on my own behind his back! I’m the worst girlfriend ever.”
“Everyone makes mistakes, Nya,” Zane assured her. “Especially people our age.”
“Zane’s right,” Kai said, “You definitely made a mistake, but like Master Wu would say, we can’t change the past. All we can do is learn from it and try to do better going forward.”
“Thanks, guys,” Nya smiled halfheartedly, “I definitely need to apologize to Jay though.”
“Oh yeah, for sure.” They all agreed.
“I know it’s not technically my fault,” Cole said, “But I still feel guilty for some reason. I need to go make sure he’s okay.”
Cole grabbed his technoblade from the camper, summoned his mech and stomped off to find Jay.
The moon was bright and full, casting a soft glow over everything as Cole ran a while, calling for Jay. Eventually he spotted him in the distance. A dark spot against the sand. He was sitting by a small, sad bush. Cole powered down and got closer. Jay was all curled in on himself, and Cole realized he was crying.
“H-hey, buddy?” Cole offered, hesitating slightly.
“Go’way!” Jay sniffled, hugging himself. “I don’t wanna talk to you.”
Cole sighed, and after a moment went and sat a bit away from Jay. He grabbed a handful of sand and let it fall through his fingers. “Look, Jay, about Nya. . . It’s not what you think.”
Jay scoffed weakly, “Isn’t it? I saw you two holding hands the other day. Nya was blushing.”
“She was just giving me some encouragement!” Cole protested. “She wasn’t—” Cole then remembered how Nya had looked at him, and how she’d started leaning in toward him. Now that Jay mentioned it, her face had been sort of red. Cole had assumed it was because the train car was stuffy but—had she actually been about to—oh. . .
Cole sighed again. “Look, Nya got some weird matchmaking test from Pixal. I don’t think Pixal meant anything by it, but Nya got really confused. I think she was just trying to figure things out.”
“By cheating on me?” Jay asked.
Cole didn’t have an answer for that. “You should probably just talk to her. She feels awful about everything.” He said instead, standing up. “Anyways, just to ease your mind, I’m officially telling you I don’t have any feelings for Nya—or any girl for that matter—besides friendship." Cole offered Jay his hand. “I promise.”
Jay continued to stare out ahead of him. Then after a moment, he wiped his eyes on his sleeve and took Cole’s hand. Jay stood, still not meeting Cole’s gaze.
Cole reached out to Jay, “Hug?”
Jay tentatively wrapped his arm around Cole, laying his head on his friend’s chest in exhaustion.
“I’m. . . I’m sorry for blowing up at you. I guess I shouldn’t have assumed without asking you and Nya. I just—I heard what Pixal said and I— I got so scared, Cole! I was scared of losing Nya, but I was—I was also scared of losing you!” Cole decided to ignore the warm wetness on his shirt and just held his friend as he cried. “We’re sup-posed to be frie-ends.”
“The best, right?” Cole smiled down at him, his own eyes filling with tears. He squeezed Jay tighter, pouring all of his love into that hug, making sure Jay knew he was here, and he would be as long as he was needed.
“Ack- I can’t breathe- Cole-“
Cole let go quickly. “Sorry, sorry.”
Jay rubbed his eyes and finally looked at Cole. His eyes were still watery and there was snot running down his face, but he was doing his best to smile through the tears. “Hey, maybe don’t tell Nya about this.” He gestured to his face.
“Don’t worry, your secret’s safe with me,” Cole winked, “Though if she really cares about you—which I’m positive she does—she won’t judge.”
“Thanks, Cole.”
“Come on,” Cole gestured, “We should really get back and catch some shuteye before the two robo-lovebirds wake us up at the crack of dawn.”
Jay giggled, “They are so cute.”
“Right? It’s like they were made to be together!”
“I hope Nya and I can work this out.” Jay mused, “I’m crazy about her, ya know?”
“Gee, I hadn’t noticed,” Cole teased. “I wouldn’t worry too much. Once we defeat the Overlord again, you two will have all the time in the world.”
“I guess you’re right,” Jay said. He turned on his techno blade and his off roader reappeared, “Race you back! Last one there has to sleep next to Kai!” Jay nyoomed off before Cole could react.
“Hey, no fair!” Cole called after him with a grin, powering up his mech. He decided to take his sweet time. Jay needed a win anyways, plus the stars were really gorgeous that time of night. Hopefully Jay and Nya would be talking by the time Cole got back. Sure, he’d have to sleep next to a loudly snoring Kai, but if the future went how he hoped it would, he’d have to get used to that anyways. After a few minutes of gazing up at the heavens, Cole stomped after his best friend, thankful that everything was back to normal.

Fnaf fanfic idea hear me out… Fnaf plushies can be possessed and turn into nightmares!
For some reason my brain latched onto FNF Foxy turning into a plushy when he’s calm and I couldn’t help but think of that on a bigger scale. I forgot all about it until Fnaf SB came out and now my brain can’t stop thinking about that crossover.
Like, instead of Freddy’s dismembered head Gregory cares around with him; imagine Gregory brings around a little plushy that turns into a nightmare when he’s in danger.
This is also heavily influenced by the fact that when Fnaf SB first came out, I thought it was a reboot and Gregory was supposed to be a callback to the crying child. I thought it was obvious and I loved it. Was very disappointed to learn the truth.
Foxy is my favourite animatronic so I’m kind of biased to solely picking him for all my fanfic ideas.
So if anyone else likes this idea and wants to do it with other animatronics or even maybe make nightmare versions of the security breach animatronics? I would love to read such stories.
I would write it myself, but my current pantser work is a Roxy possession fic and I think I gave myself one of the best plot twists. I now have to rewrite a few things

Roxy Wolf's Awakening
Inky darkness. No light. No sound. No ground. No scent. A being existed in this void. It thought and it felt. It wished it didn't. For as long as it could sense its surroundings and ponder them, it would be aware of the emptiness. It asked questions with no reason as to how they'd be answered. What was this place? What was it? And why was it in this place? It was terrified. It longed for something but knew not what.
As abruptly as the void came, sensations replaced it. White light pierced through the black. A distant voice hushed the silence. Vague scents filled the space. Then the most intrusive, it felt a body. An ear, a face, a nose, a neck, a torso, a tail, arms, legs, hands with fingers, feet with toes. Something stiff and soft held it in place, contacting with its thighs, forearms, back, neck and head. Its tail and legs dangled off the surface. It didn't like that. Its tail shot up, its thighs flinched. A feminine voice trilled through the dull. Its ears shifted towards the sound. Its new form could move. Then began a rhythmic pounding inside its ribcage. The pounding was so fierce, it might of burst through. It lifted an arm and precariously guided it to the source of the pounding, attempting to soothe it. So much was happening, it couldn't keep up. Then, its senses cleared and it saw its world for the first time.
"Aw, looks like you found your heart! Good girl!" a woman chirped before it. Her voice was pitched, stinging its ears. Her tone was pleasant, irritably pleasant. She was pale with generous cushioning at her thighs and brown, stringy hair pulled into a bun. Her brown eyes peered through oval glasses. An overbearing fragrance came off her. She wore a black t-shirt which was covered by denim overalls. One of her straps held a badge that displayed "Klara" in cursive.
Besides the woman's scent, the air was chemical. The room was lit with bright lights from above. Metallic walls curved around them, a dirty window taking up most of its surface. The window was broken up by two aligning metal pillars. Against the floor, the wall was lined with vents that protruded out. The floor itself was littered with stains and crumbs. Inside the little space were various mechanical arms that hung from the ceiling. It became fearful when it noticed how the arms looked poised to rip it apart.
"Roxy, sweetie, can you hear me?" the woman asked it. Roxy? Was that what it was called? "C'mon Roxy. Just say 'yes'. I know you can do it."
"Yes." Roxy answered with miraculous efficiency. It felt its tail wag and its chest warm from within.
"Yes! Thank you! Good job! You did good." Klara praised, seeming to fight the urge to grab its face. She settled with patting its thigh instead.

Defying Expectations
TimKon, Lifeguard Kon, Civilian Tim, Humour, Friendships.
Summary: When Kon rescues a stranger from the water he was unprepared for how infatuated he would become with him. However it might not be just one way, because the stranger keeps on returning to the beach every time Kon happens to be on shift. Could that be a coincidence, Kon certainly hopes not.
Enjoy! :D
“That’s stupid and you know it.”
“No it’s not! It’s a completely reasonable excuse to use.”
“Who says? Reddit? You shouldn’t go seeking answers out from shady people on the internet.”
“I can do what I want.”
“Alright, don’t say I didn’t warn ya. I look forward to telling you ‘I told you so’ when it all goes wrong.”
Kon huffs and shakes his head not replying. Instead he turns his attention away and looks out over the area of beach he’s patrolling. With the golden sand, clear blue skies and hot weather, the whole package encourages people from all over to come and enjoy the glorious weather on the coast.
Working as a lifeguard at one of the most popular beaches is certainly an interesting job. Without fail something new happens every day, just when he thinks he can’t be surprised anymore something comes and defies that expectation and creates a new one.
It’s not a job he ever expected to do, it’s something he fell into after learning his love for surfing. One day he had been out catching waves and someone in the water shouted for help, being close by Kon helped them until a professional came by, after that something awoke in Kon and he looked into lifeguarding and followed the training until he qualified and got hired. He hasn’t looked back since.
Currently he’s sat with his colleague and friend in a buggy on the sand overlooking the crowd and keeping an eye on everyone just in case something happens, either in the water or on the sand. He and Roxy were chatting while observing to pass the time, the woman is like a sister to him and isn’t afraid to tell him her thoughts, they had just been discussing what Kon had planned to use as an excuse to get out of a meeting with the higher ups. The meeting isn’t anything bad, Kon simply doesn’t want to attend it and is trying to get out of it.
“Hey so next weekend what are your-”
Roxy is cut off from speaking when the radio of their buggy beeps. Answering the call Kon picks it up and listens intently as their colleague Cassie informs them of a situation.
“There's a group of guys east to you, one of them has fallen off the sand bank and into a rip. He’s struggling, one of you need to get out there.”
As soon as Cassie says east the two of them are looking that way and out into the water. Immediately they can see what she’s on about. Not wasting a second Roxy starts the buggy and is driving that way while Kon prepares to go in.
Kon speaks into the radio, “Roger that, I’ll be going be in,” before placing it back and taking his shirt and sunglasses off.
As they approach the area they could hear the aforementioned group arguing and upon further sight Kon could spot them pushing and shoving one another. They’re adult males, tall and muscled, and there’s one child amongst them but it’s the two oldest that are currently arguing.
Kon doesn’t pay them any attention, they’re not in danger, they’re not the concern right now. His current priority is the male struggling to stay afloat in the water, his hand occasionally coming up in the sign for help before it disappears again underneath the waves crashing over him.
Once Roxy’s parked the buggy Kon is moving, he’s off the vehicle in a second and in the next has the lifeguard board in his hands. Kon sprints over the sand and into the water, not letting the change in terrain stop him from moving and as soon as he's deep enough he jumps onto the board and begins paddling out towards the drowning male.
Kon reaches the guy in good time and reaches into the water to pull him up and onto the board. Once his head is out of the water he's coughing and spluttering, Kon manoeuvres him around until he's lying down facing the front. He gives the guy a minute to catch his breath before forcing the board to turn in the water and begins to make his way back to shore.
As he reaches the sand bank Kon climbs off the board and helps the guy off and steadies him when he stumbles, together they trudge out of the shallow water and back onto the dry sand where the others are standing.
Kon stops the guy he saved with a gentle hand on his arm, his other currently carrying the lifeguard board at his side.
“Hey you okay?” He asks concerned. Just because the guy was walking and appeared okay didn’t mean that there wasn’t anything amiss.
The male turns to him and for the first time Kon gets a real good look at his features. He’s young, maybe around Kon’s age if he had to guess. He’s got chin length black hair which is currently wet and swept back off his face, there’s pale skin that’s currently a little red from what Kon could guess is the start of sun burn, and light blue eyes which capture all of his attention within one blink. His frame his muscular in a lithe way, the guy works out but isn’t broad.
He coughs to clear his throat and answers Kon sounding a little croaky. “Yeah. Thank you. I lost my balance in the water then immediately got swept out. I’m a good swimmer but that was…” he waves his hand in a vague gesture but Kon knows what he means.
The water is an unpredictable place no matter how good of a swimmer you are.
Kon grins at him. “You’re welcome. After all that’s why we’re here. Are you sure you’re okay, you didn’t inhale any water or anything?” At the shake of his head Kon continues, “well if you need anything else let us know alright.”
The two of them reach the group waiting for the guy he saved. The two older men Kon spotted earlier immediately crowd the guy while the kid hangs at the back looking bored as ever. Choosing to leave them now no one is in danger Kon walks back to the buggy where Roxy watched the whole thing unfold. She smirks at him as he approaches.
“Good job,” she comments deviously. Kon pauses from where he had started to put away the board back on the buggy and peers at her.
“Why did you say it like that for?”
She shrugs acting nonchalant, “oh, no reason,” the giggle she lets out very much contradicts her words.
“Rox.”
“At least you checked him out once you were out of the water. He really caught your eye huh darling.”
Kon scowls at her. “I did not check him out! I was making sure he was okay after nearly drowning, because y’know, that’s what we do… we stop people from drowning.”
“Sure, love, whatever you say.” Kon glares at her but before he could protest further she carries on speaking. “If it helps I overheard the men he’s with. They’re brothers, apparently the playful shoving between siblings got out of hand which led to him falling in the water. I did hear though, that they are on vacation here for the week.”
Kon tries to not let his thoughts get ahead of himself upon hearing that. Pretending how that fact doesn't excite him, he shakes his head and climbs into the buggy. “And you’re telling me this because...”
“Because… you may get to see him again.”
Snorting at the idea Kon shakes his head. “Sure. As if we don’t see thousands of tourists every day and speak to over a hundred of them each day.”
Roxy starts up the buggy and they head back to the central part of the beach to continue with their shifts. Kon will deny it ever happened but he couldn’t help glance at the guy he saved again as they drive away, he blinks in surprise when he finds him already staring back at him. Unconsciously Kon grins at him and the other smiles shyly before ducking his head looking away.
===========
Kon would rather go to hell than tell Roxy how she was right. He doesn’t need that looming over him.
It turns out Kon will see the guy he saved for the following three days after that. He doesn’t know what it is but there’s a magnet attached to him because as Kon scans the crowds, keeping an eye out for anyone that may be in trouble, his gaze always somehow lands on the stranger. Different times of the day, at different parts of the beach. Kon always manages to sees him. Sometimes the stranger is looking back and other times not. He would be either with his brothers like the first day or with a couple females, sometimes a mixture of them all.
From a distance Kon couldn’t work out what his relationship with the girls are, whether they’re friends, siblings or more. And doesn’t that make him seem like a creep… he doesn’t mean anything by it but after four days Kon can’t deny and say there isn’t any attraction there. He wants to know more about this guy, he’s caught Kon’s attention like no one else ever has.
An elbow to his side jerks Kon out of his thoughts. Blinking he turns his attention to where Cassie is lounging on a chair. They’re in the central tower of the beach overlooking everything through the large windows and their binoculars, if anything happens they’ll alert the others in the buggy’s on the sand below them.
“What?” He snaps at his friend.
She grins menacingly at him. “Your man is here.”
Kon hates the way his heart picks up at her words and he desperately tries to hide his eagerness to the news. Instead he scowls at her and pointedly looks away. “What? I don’t have ‘a man’.”
“Uh huh, sure.” She drawls out, not even bothering to hide the amusement from her voice. “He's coming down the ramp on the west end, with one of his brothers and the hot blonde.”
Kon fights the urge with all his might to not look in that direction.
“Wonder how long they have left here?” Cassie questions out loud, clearly riling Kon up. She must have been speaking with Roxy. The two girls are always up for making his life miserable. “Perhaps around two or three days left?”
Just as Kon’s about to lose his patience their radios crackle with an incoming call. Cassie sits up and answers it. It turns out it’s Roxy and she’s not calling because there’s an emergency.
“Have you spotted what I’ve spotted on the west side of the beach?” She sounds too smug for her own good.
“We have!” Cassie cheerfully replies. “Kon’s denying his existence.”
“You do realise these radios are for work, such as when someone is dying.” Kon growls out, not appreciating the teasing he’s having to put up with.
“C’mon Kon, don’t be like that. When’s the last time you had fun outside of work?” Roxy asks, sounding more sober than moments ago. She clearly knows the teasing is starting to go too far.
“It’s none of your business.” Kon grumbles. Both Roxy and Cassie know the answer to that, and the implications. Kon hasn’t been in a relationship for years and as for getting laid, well it’s been a long time.
“Why don’t you ask him out? What’s stopping you?” Cassie asks genuinely seeming curious to what his reply will be.
Kon rolls his eyes and finally gives into the urge to look at the man he’s developed a crush on despite knowing absolutely nothing about him. He and his group have made camp on the west side of the beach not too far from the ramp. They’ve laid out their towels and have put up an umbrella to provide shade from the hot sun. The stranger is currently dressed in a loose t-shirt and swim shorts, he’s sat up hunched over his phone, his companions are currently running a photoshoot. The girl striking different poses with the beach and ocean as her backdrop and the brother taking said photos on a phone.
He watches the group for a moment before turning back to Cassie glaring lightly at her. “For starters, he may not be single - ”
Cassie immediately cuts him off. “Oh he is.”
She says it with confidence that leaves Kon blinking at her puzzled. Apparently the question is written over his face because she explains.
“I spoke to the blonde the other day, she’s called Stephanie. They’re here on a family vacation. She told me he’s most definitely single. And before you say anything he’s bisexual. And, he has also been eyeing you up too since you rescued him at the start of the week.”
Kon gapes at her trying to absorb what she’s telling him. Questions fill his mind but his brain to mouth filter is currently offline making it difficult to speak. On the radio he hears Roxy cackling in the background.
After several beats Kon shuts his mouth and leans back in his chair. Cassie very effectively just shut down his other points at the same. He glances at his colleague before looking away again feeling somewhat apprehensive about the situation.
“Pray tell, what do I do then? I can’t just go strolling up to him, plaster on a flirtatious grin and ask him out.”
Cassie raises her eyebrows and spreads her hands out, silently saying why not?
“I’m not doing that!” Kon exclaims. He huffs, “isn’t there like a rule or something about dating someone you recused?”
There’s a pause before three voices speak out. “No.”
Kon startles and turns around at the third and unexpected voice. Another colleague and friend is in the tower with him and Cassie, Kon has no idea how long Bart has been there but he stares at the guy bewildered.
“Have you been listening this entire time?”
With a mouth full of food Bart nods and hums, he swallows and jerks a thumb over his shoulder. “I’ve been in the kitchen for the last twenty minutes. You’re currently talk of the entire team Kon. You need to go and ask this guy out, if you get rejected then at least you tried.”
Roxy’s voice comes over the radio again. “You have a break soon, do it then.”
“I’m not-” Kon starts protesting but cuts himself off, “why are you all ganging up on me? What have I done to deserve this?”
“You really want an answer to that?” Roxy replies with heavy sarcasm.
After that silence settles in the tower until a situation calls them in for action and it becomes a hectic half hour of rushing around and saving people in the water, thankfully all of whom make it and they have no casualties that day so far. Both Kon and Cassie got called into action while Bart directed from the central tower. When they get a chance to breathe Kon feels drained and he takes the quiet opportunity to cash in his break.
Roxy, who he’s at the buggy with on the sand, nudges him towards the tower. “Go grab your phone and then go get your man.”
Kon opens his mouth to protest but decides against it. Sighing in defeat Kon begins to trudge up the sand towards the tower. It seemed like Bart was still involved with the whole ordeal because he’s there at the bottom of the stairs to the tower when Kon arrives with Kon’s phone and towel in his hands.
Bart grins as he hands his stuff over. “Go get ‘em tiger.”
Kon shoves him hard in retaliation. Bracing himself for what he’s about to do he takes a breath and starts wondering over to the west side of the beach, towards the stranger he’s all but gravitated too this week.
It’s only when he’s several feet away from him that Kon realises he’s not wearing a shirt, having come straight from a rescue he didn’t even think about it until now. Oh well, he’ll have to make do, at least he knows he’s got a great physique and isn’t conscious at all. Constantly being shirtless to do ninety percent of his job will help with that.
As he nears the stranger Kon’s relieved to find he’s on his own, his siblings having disappeared somewhere. The guy is on his phone and not paying attention at all to anything around him. Kon shuffles awkwardly nearby debating on how to approach him, he curses himself because this has never been a problem before, in bars he finds it super easy to walk up to someone and show his interest but for some reason that same level of confidence isn’t making an appearance right now. In the end he tells himself to stop being pathetic and marches forward, choosing to approach the guy from the front in hopes to not startle him and Kon waits for his presence to be noticed before doing anything.
A few seconds later the stranger looks up and while he’s wearing sunglasses Kon can tell he’s got his full attention. With his cheeks goring red, and not because of the sun, the stranger smiles at Kon in recognition. “Hey.”
Kon grins back and feels his uneasiness fade away. “Hey. Not to sound creepy but I saw you here and I happen to be on my break, would you mind I joined you for a bit?”
The stranger shakes his head, his smile still prominent. “Uh, no, I don’t mind. By all means…” he waves to the free patch of sand next to him and Kon takes the invitation and expertly lays out his towel before settling down on it.
He leans over holding out a hand. “I’m Kon.”
“Pleasure.” The stranger replies, he takes Kon’s hand and shakes it, “I’m Tim.”
Kon does his hardest to ignore the thoughts that filter through his mind as they clasped hands. Tim’s hands are soft but there’s hints of roughness from callouses.
Before an awkward silence can fall between them Kon speaks up, glancing at Tim beside him. “So where are you from Tim? You sound American.”
There’s a beat before Tim replies back to him, at first Kon thought Tim hadn’t heard him but then Tim clears his throat in a way that makes him grin. Maybe ‘hadn’t heard’ was the wrong assumption but rather distracted would be more accurate.
“I, uh – I um.” He clears his throat again. “Yes I’m American, I’m from Gotham.”
Kon blinks having not expected that. “How long have you been marvelling at the blue sky for then?” He teases. “It’s not something you get to see every day.”
Tim snorts and shakes his head. “Okay, okay, Gotham may be dark and dreary, but there are good things about the city. I’m here on vacation with my family. In fact the assholes I call brothers is the reason you rescued me the other day.”
The blush on Tim’s cheeks deepens. Kon laughs at his comment and is glad Tim brought up the rescue himself, Kon had been tempted to comment about it but in case Tim felt too embarrassed by ordeal he opted to stay quiet about it. The fact Tim freely made the comment himself means it’s an open topic conversation.
“Brothers are assholes, big ones and little ones. Anyway that’s what I do here, I save people who find themselves in trouble.”
“Credit to you, you all do amazing jobs.” Tim says looking at him through his sunglasses. Smiling softly Kon shrugs at the compliment, it’s always nice to hear genuine gratitude.
Switching his gaze between Tim and the crowd on the beach he takes a deep breath and finally asks the question that’s lead him here. “Hey, I wanted to ask, and by all means you can say no, would you like to go out for drinks sometime?”
He refuses to look at Tim, nervous of what his answer is going to be. Kon’s surprised when all Tim does is laugh, he turns back to the guy gawking at him.
“No, no, I don’t mean it like that!” Tim quickly says between breaths. He giggles for a moment – which Kon finds absolutely adorable – and then takes a deep breath to calm himself down. He wipes his eyes underneath the glasses and speaks up again, this time more in control of himself. “I’m laughing because I was about to ask you the same question, and I viciously hoped that’s why you came here.”
Putting a hand on his chest over his pounding heart Kon breathes out. “Jesus man don’t do that. I genuinely felt my stomach drop.”
Tim snickers. “Sure. But yes, I would love to. However I’m only here for a few more nights, you free tonight?”
Kon sobers up at hearing the news but it’s not like he didn’t already know. “Well I guess we better make the most of it,” he grins at Tim and holds out his phone with the contacts app open, “I can message you later when I finish at seven. Then, as a local resident, I can show you the best spots on a night out.”
Tim takes his phone and enters his details. “Sounds good, I’m sure I can escape my hoard of siblings for the night.”
They grin at one another and Kon is more than surprised, and thankful, about how easy it seemed to be between them. They chat even further about all kinds of topics until Kon gets called off his break and with a reluctant goodbye they part ways as Kon heads back to work. However, he walks away beaming because there’s a new number in his contacts and he’s got a date that night.
He proudly declares this as he enters the tower meeting everyone’s expectant gazes. Where it goes from here Kon has no idea but he’s looking forward to whatever it may be.

So, instead of finishing an ongoing project before I leave for college - I started a new and extremely short project and finished that instead!
I wrote a quick Five Night's at Freddy's - Security Breach fanfic, starring Roxanne Wolf... Before she came out!
That's right, it's a story about her coming out as transgender. Please give it a read.

Can you PLEASE update "Things I'd Never Say" on AO3 😭 it's been like a year or something and I just read it yesterday and I'm super excited to see more. 😭
Hey! Sorry for answering so late. I've been working on chapter 14 I swear. I've got around 3k words so far and it's nowhere near finished. I'm not sure if I'm happy with what I wrote though, so I'm not sure how much of it I'm gonna actually keep. I'm sorry it's been so long. Writer's block is a bitch 🙈
