Gilmore girls 6.07 dealt about 600 blows to my emotional stability and I enjoyed it immensely
#lorelai and rory being upset about the 21st birthday plans they're not going to fulfil#both of them not knowing that the other is thinking of it too and feels the same way aljdghk#rory dreaming about her old birthday traditions with lorelai#rory wanting to invite lorelai to the party but lorelai assumes rory didn't send the invite ahhh#rory getting mad and hurt that lorelai doesn't RSVP#richard realising that rory's throwing her life away#emily still putting luke down#paris getting the editor role and lorelai clearly thinking how that could've been rory#luke being the buffer between rory and lorelai. trying to make each know that the other cares#luke and rory being on good terms and rory calling him stepfather-to-be and him giving her a literal heirloom.... oh my god#emily finding out that lorelai's engaged without telling her AGAIN and feeling betrayed (AGAIN)#lorelai finding the whole party and rory's DAR 'friends' so wrong#emily trying to make rory into her. richard not wanting that for rory. that hurting emily#emily's throwaway hurtful comment that rory would be ruined only if she came home pregnant (lorelai's right there)#rory and lorelai talking but not really talking.#rory saying that everything's so different in lorelai's life. and lorelai saying it's the same too#the minute slip into their old easiness when rory is shocked about the dog. but it doesn't last#lorelai trying not to cry as rory gets swept away from her and into the crowd of other people sharing her birthday.#and lorelai's not really sharing it. not how she should be. she's less in rory's life than everyone else somehow#luke being lorelai's emotional support. quietly understanding. offering to be in her halloween skit#probably more#this was like a critical episode#so many complicated feelings#and yet also i laughed so many times#gilmore girls at its finest#gilmore girls
