Sometimes, it feels good to sell own brand products or sole distributor for a product. 

At least we don’t have direct competition or the most also indirect competition only. 

If we already have good reviews and high product sold units, we have full control over the price we want to sell or apply any marketing strategy we want. 

For example, I have one product that sold at rm50. Knowing customer want bigger size and washable type, I produce a variation to fulfil customer need selling at RM60. In order to attract more people buying, I produce another smaller size to sell at RM40. Even there’re 3 variations, 80% of my customers still buy the most expensive one knowing what customer actually wants. 

Looking at my monthly order, recently my supplier takes chances by increasing the cost of my highest range variation and reducing the cost of the other 2 cheaper types to make up for it. 

I tried to ask to maintain same price but couldn’t. Nothing much can be done looking at increase by supplier, increase cost of shipping, and increase of marketplace commission recently. Sometimes, I rather drop the SKU or don’t sell the product anymore if I’m just making a little profit. 

However, I decided to make my own strategy to increase the most expensive variation to the extreme price of rm70 with the cheapest variation at a high price gap to sell at rm45. The change is to hope customer buy less the most expensive variation and buy more the cheapest type as the cost of cheaper variation is lower now. I try to fight back my supplier by ordering less quantity for the highest price variation and order more cheapest price products. 

2 days has passed over my changes of the pricing. To my surprise, my customers are still buying the most extreme pricing of my product. So, don’t under estimate what customer really wants. Anyway, even customers still buying the most expensive product, I’m still benefiting from it as the total amount I increase is far more from the increase from my supplier. 

Anyway, I need to look at upcoming whole month data if I really profit more from the changes counting the total product sold and profit margin.

For the conclusion, if we have products like this, we really should try to play with the pricing to know what is the maximum profit we can make from our products.
