Fun little silly thought I had about the Lair Games and specifically Leo deliberately losing is all the reasons he could have for doing so.

My favorite headcanon for his main motivation is that Splinter wasn’t proud of him anymore.

I imagine that, in the beginning, winning the Lair Games was Leo’s opportunity to shine. He wasn’t artistic or the baby of the family like Mikey, wasn’t a tech genius who created amazing inventions like Donnie, wasn’t the eldest who was insanely strong and dependable like Raph. So he had to shine somewhere else- anywhere else- and what better way to get attention than to be a winner? A champion?

And then he won too much. And it wasn’t special anymore. He got too big headed, too cocky, he knew this was his element and he ran with it.

Splinter’s words of congratulations slowly petered out. Suddenly, there was no real reason to win.

Winning feels empty when the only one cheering you on is yourself.

So- Leo schemed. And he’s a great schemer, fooling his whole family (and Donnie did deserve a win- people were way happier when he won.)

He even gave up his prized possession! His room!

Though he knows his brothers probably think it’s a bad prize. A terrible one, even.

Leo doesn’t sleep much as is, though. So Dad’s snores were more comforting than anything. It was reassuring to hear him so clearly alive and close by.

Even if the distance between them was larger than Leo’d like.

He’d just have to find something else, something more to show his dad that Leo was someone to trust, to be proud of, to love.

He gets his chance soon after, when he needs to pull off a plan against Big Mama at his dad’s side. Leo can only hope this victory is one that has a lasting effect when his father looks at him with pride once more.

Victory, for Leo, is a pretty loaded term.

You know that one reason that fans are going SO crazy over GlassHeart/Kylia, is that most of them are also Malvie shippers who are mad that they didn't get their ship in the OG trilogy.

So they are trying to force the ship to be real, so that they can have their 'main character/female x female' ship in cannon.

I think I wouldn’t be complaining so much about the Villains in D4, if they were actually used.

Like, what the fuck does Hades contribute to the plot? Or Maleficent? Or Hook? Or like any of them. I don’t even think those first two have any actual lines.

Name one thing Hades did in this fucking movie, that couldn’t have been some other random Villain character, or even just some background lackey.

They put them in just so that the fans would go “Oh my god! Hades and Maleficent are sooooo cute! Couple goals 😍. And Hook! Just like Harry!”. Worst part is it fucking worked, that and the gay subtext between Red and Blue are the two main points of praise I’ve seen for this film

If you value fan service about a coherent story, then you deserve to be ridiculed, like I’m sorry

i am going on a medic soapbox once again because i unfortunately still see the ''he doesn't give a shit about anyone'' takes prevalently.

is he insane? yes. but being insane and being able to love can coexist. just bc he lacks boundaries and has problems with empathy doesn't mean he's a complete monster like he loves his doves and appreciates heavy a lot. and if you bring the comics abt him “betraying” the team...let's remember that one of the brothers died. the gravel war was over. everyone lost their jobs. the explanation that medic gave is as simple as it was: he needed the money and needed to experiment. if there's one thing that he loves the most is science and his own ego, but that doesn't mean it's all he cares about.

he joined the classic team cuz he had no other choice. but then you see him so happy to see the old team back together and mind you HE DIDN'T KNOW they were getting together.

also. the dialogue with cheavy... him excitedly telling him that he'll be behind him in the battlefield just implies his past relationship with our heavy yk? and in a way... if the classic team actually respected him maybe medic wouldn't have done what he did.

but they didn't so all they were in his mind were just experiments worth not taking care of... ESPECIALLY CHEAVY. ofc he'd do all this shit without thinking twice cuz he's impulsive and we love him for that.

also... let's talk about sniper and his scars. the scars he has are USUALLY done after opening a body for an autopsy. meaning that medic ACTUALLY went through the process on checking on him and decided to revive him.

whether you see this as a way to self-inflate his ego or not... it's an astounding achievement. but he cares. he even was happy when he saw sniper waking up. so those who say that he doesn't love anyone are just ppl who see characters as black and white and two-dimensional
