Got the overwhelming urge to draw Real Worlder!Dal again, if only because he's one of three Marioverse Dals that specifically wears the Shine Sprite necklace.

Or, as I'm gonna call it from this point forward, the Shade Sprite.

...Eeyup. Finally picked a name that I can stick with for the damn thing. Name's plain and simple, like a lot of magical artifacts in the Mushroom World, and has a bit more of a link to the canon thing it's based on. owo)b

As for what exactly a Shade Sprite is... basically it's the dark counterpart to a Shine Sprite. Unlike Shine Sprites, who need to gather in large numbers to gain power, Shade Sprites are powerful all on their own. Their magic is, of course, based in "dark" things, which can be utilized in multiple ways, not just manipulation of literal shadows.

Hell, Bowser Junior's antics with his paintbrush could be considered shadow magic on its own. Why do you think his Mario disguise is called Shadow Mario?

Despite their affinity for all things gloomy and sunless, Shade Sprites are not inherently evil like say, the Dark Star. Otherwise, Dal would've become much, much more villainous and cruel after years of unknowingly being exposed to its magic.

One can only wonder how much it could amplify an already powerful weapon like the paintbrush... But Dal would have to master it before we can cross that particular bridge =w="
