I have an enhancement to adding their username to your blocklist: "Hide Filtered Posts Entirely" from X-Kit Rewritten extension for Firefox & Chrome (desktop only). Normally, using filtered content would make any post that contains a filter show with the typical "contains filtered content" box but with xkit's feature...

Congrats! You have effectively erased them from your tumblr experience 👌 Things to know:

Hides posts where filtered names (or any filtered word!) appear in the reblog chain/body of the post

Hides immediate reblogs of filtered names: [mutual] reblogged [filtered] but does not affect a post if they appear further back in the reblogs/tags (post will show normally & their tags will be in the Notes)

Can be used to hide all posts the filtered name appears in without officially blocking

This will also hide any other blocked tags & filters.

If they change their username, you'll have to update the filter

While loading a page, you will sometimes briefly see the "this post contains filtered content" box before Xkit banishes it

Sorry, I do not know of a mobile/app equivalent of this feature but please share if you do! 🙏

"I don't like the fandom content this person posts!"

Then unfollow them.

"I'm not following them, but they're in all the tags!"

Then block them.

"I blocked them but all the people I follow reblog their posts!"

Then unfollow those people.

"But I like their other content!"

Then add the person's username to your blocklist.

"But—"

No. Stop. Listen. You cannot control what other people post or how they interpret your favorite characters or what ships they like. All you can control is your own actions and your public responses. Block them, filter out their username, then post your own stuff to carve out a space for yourself and people like you in your fandom. You will be a million times happier if you focus on what you're doing and what you enjoy instead of on the people you don't like.
