BIG ANNOUCEMENT
Hello all! It's certainly been a while but I've come with good news!
There have been characters of Affinity that have been sold without others knowing, this has led others to get rather annoyed since they only think one person can buy these characters...
... Well, that ends today!
There are characters of Affinity that I don't have any use for anymore, the old designs from 2014-2020 that I don't use in my current AU have no use to me anymore, and I don't want for them to go to waste without a good home for them to have, which is why I've decided to announce that all the old designs from 2014-2020 that I don't use in my current AU are now available to be sold to the public!
Though, these designs have had a big impact on me, and I would like to say that I don't wish to sell them for anything less than $30. Please keep that in mind!
Thank you so much for reading, I hope these characters will be able to have good homes!
Please ask, I will make a long list of characters that have been sold to some people, in the meantime you can ask and I will let you know if it has been sold or not
list of SOLD characters (still going to be updated
SOLD!!! SOLD!!!
If some buyers want to put characters they already bought, let me know!

I am unaware of the existence of many characters, if you remember any, you can ask me

Mariana Rivera Madrigal Headcanons;

Her full name is Mariana Isabela Luisa Rivera Madrigal.
She was named her dad's mom, both her mom's sisters, and Mariano (who Mirabel and Miguel are both close to).
She's eleven years old by d3.
She has the gift of Artistic Creation (meaning she can bring artwork to life, her own most easily).
She is the daughter of Mirabel Madrigal and Miguel Rivera.
She is a triplet. The other 2/3s of the trio are Marcelo and Marisol. She is the middle triplet.
Their birthday is October 25th.
Her favorite colors are green, black, and yellow. Her least favorite color is brown.
She's a student at the Encanto’s only public school but will likely transfer to Auradon Prep when she's older if given the chance.
She's the only one of her siblings (so 1 out of 5) who doesn't need glasses. She has a phase when she's older where she wears lensless glasses for a solid couple of years because of this.
Mariana wants to be a famous illustrator or artist when she grows up and has practiced for the position by helping Marcelo and Marisol make a cookbook— among other things. If she can't be either of those though, she'd settle for being an animator or video game graphics designer.
Her gift isn't just limited to paintings or drawings. It extends to statues and toys as well, and even taxidermy (as she learned when visiting a friend's house, since you know, the taxidermied animals in her house were already alive long before she was born).
Mariana will often times bring her toys, the statue of Alejandra in the courtyard, and the paintings in the house alive when she's bored or when one of her siblings/cousins needs an audience for something.
Where Marcelo is a mama’s boy and Marisol is neither a mama’s or daddy's girl, Mariana is a daddy's girl.
Mariana has been told that she resembles her paternal Abuela Luisa, bisabuela Alma, her Tía Isabela, and her mamá quite a bit.
Mariana knows all the Auradon gossip because she's curious and Marisol is all too willing to tell her.
The eleven year old has been described as wildly curious, courteous, trusting, gentle, and fun loving as well as graceful, clever, imaginative, creative, loving, and well-mannered.
She can also be quite sad, impatient, cautious, lonely, and clingy, but not many people know that.
Mariana wants to go to art school after she graduates highschool.
Currently Mariana is single, though she is also starting to notice boys.
Mariana is friends with Gronosis of Camelot, and Garanwyn of Camelot.
Out of her siblings, she's the closest to Vera and Marcelo. She loves Marisol but her triplet drives her crazy and she loves Renata but they don't spend much time together since Renata doesn't like leaving her room often.
Her favorite aunt is Luisa, her favorite grandparent is her abuela Luisa, her favorite uncle is Ryder, her favorite sibling is Marcelo, her favorite sister is Vera, and her favorite cousin is Silvia.
Mariana and Marisol can out argue Isabela and Mirabel, much to everyone’s displeasure. It is very hard to break up a fight between them if you aren't Marcelo.
Mariana's favorite candy is Chocolates Madrigal. Her least favorite is fairy bubble gum because the whole memory of it nearly stealing Marisol is a traumatic one.
Mariana can't stand Marisol and Marcelo's favorite book ‘The Tales of Flynnigan Ryder’ but will occasionally sit through it for them.
Her favorite book is Catalino Bocachica, but she also likes Zorro, La pobre viejecita, El Terror de Sexto B, Los amigos del hombre, La historia en cuentos, Simón el bobito, and El Renacuajo Paseador.
Her favorite holiday is Christmas but her second favorite is ancestry day.
Everyone thinks Mariana was the worst of the triplets when they were toddlers but their parents actually confirmed it was Marisol.
Mariana doesn't like bugs or worms, and turns green whenever she sees Mariana playing with her ant and worm farms.
Mariana's favorite musicians who are not related to her are Celia Cruz and The Sorcerer's Apprentices. She has their albums, CDs, mixtapes, and posters all in her room.
Her favorite song by The Sorcerer's Apprentices is “Charm Me Maybe.”
Bruno is her favorite great uncle .
The yellow flower and the bows she can be seen sporting were gifts from Luisa and Isabela.
Mariana has a pet elephant named ‘Art’ that Antonio introduced her to. She's taught him how to paint.
Mariana used to have some one sided beef with Pepa and Arlo because their gifts kept ruining her drawings (Taking inspiration from @igetthedisneybox ‘s oc, Lidia Madrigal, on this one). She's (mostly) outgrown this now.
When Mariana was little, she was really quiet like Antonio used to (and still is to extent) which worried Miguel (like it did Pepa), but Mirabel wasn't as worried about it.
Mariana is still a bit quiet but less so. Mostly because out of the triplets, she's the one who speaks up when something is bothering one of them (Marisol doesn't like complaining about things she deems childish and Marcelo is much too shy and a people pleaser to do so, which leaves Mariana).
Mariana does not like going into Bruno's room because of the sand. For reasoning, check reason 10 on this list.
Mariana loves horseback riding (which her Abuelo Agustín taught her) and fencing (which Isabela and Bubo taught her).
The only time Mariana being quiet ever really bothered Mirabel was when she was a baby—Marisol was colicky and Marcelo was startled easily, so it really freaked her and Miguel out at first until they got used to it.
Mariana was the messiest of the triplets as a toddler and was the hardest one to get clean because she hated baths and tried to escape them every single time.
Mariana's favorite animal is an elephant but a close favorite is a hummingbird— which is one of her Tía Luisa’s favorite animals as well.
She also likes peacocks because they're pretty and remind her of her Abuela Julieta's favorite hat.
Come to think of it, she just really likes birds.
Mariana collects lots of little things like sea shells and feathers to go into her artworks.
The only bugs Mariana isn't grossed out by are fireflies because Isabela's room has them and she finds them pretty. It also probably helps that they make it not dark, since Mariana like Luisa and Marcelo is afraid of the dark.
Mariana's also afraid that she'll never be a good enough artist.
Mariana used to have two irrational fears: one was that if she got caught in the rain she'd melt and one that if she played with her Papá’s guitar or went in a graveyard she'd end up stuck in the land of the dead.
She actually used to be really afraid of water in general before she got her gift. Getting it only made it worse.
She likes her mamá’s door (which has symbols of their family on it) better than her own.
Mariana knows how to sew but doesn't utilize the skill often.
Roses are her favorite flowers. Yellow ones in particular.
Her favorite play is Cruella de Vil on Trial. On an unrelated note, Mariana cannot stand Cruella de Vil.
She also doesn't like Tourney because she thinks it looks scary.
Mariana's favorite video game is Hero Rising.
Her favorite shows are “Auradon’s Classiest Home Videos”, “Widow Tweed’ Neighborhood”, and “Stranger Thingamabobs”.
She also likes watching Auratube.
Mariana is … partially responsible for the tv channel ‘Evil Isle’ being removed from air because she accidentally watched an episode of “Cruella de Vil’s Coat Club”. It scared her to tears and well…Abuelita wasn't happy.
Her favorite business to visit when traveling outside of the Encanto is “The Merry Men Cafe”.
Mariana also loves flowers, polkadots, and just patterns in general.
She prefers to sleep in nightgowns because she finds them more comfortable.
Mariana’s been called Mirabel several times by forgetful villagers and doesn't like it.
Mariana has a stuffed peacock that Mirabel made her when she was a baby that she named “Señora Painted”.
Has trouble making friends because her drawings are easier to get along with.
Was very much the kid in school who always tried to eat glue, erasers, paint, etc.
Chews on her pens and pencils all the time. In fact she has a scar on her lip from when she chewed through the front of her pen and the metal cut open her lip.
Several of her hobbies are related to creativity—painting, photography, drawing, embroidery, gem painting, stop motion, animation, learning to play different types of music, scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting, digital art, sculpting, etc. She wants to learn how to do wood carving too but her parents are holding off on that until she’s a little older.
She also likes reading, doing crossword puzzles, playing video games, acting (though she’s not good at it), bird watching, and exploring and wouldn’t be opposed to joining a Swords and Shields team when she’s older if her parents allowed for it.
Can often be seen riding on the back of her pet elephant—something that gave her parents a heart attack when they first saw it. They made her promise to always wear a helmet when she’s on the elephant because they don’t want her to get hurt.
She made her own bike with the help of her abuelos and both her great uncles, and she, Marcelo, Marisol, Renata, and Vera painted it together.
Drew a donkeycorn for Silvia’s fifth birthday and brought it to life for a few days. That was how they discovered that Mariana’s gift could have disastrous effects on her health if she keeps the drawings alive for too long. She was out for two weeks.
She’s thinking of becoming a vegan or vegetarian when she’s older since she doesn’t like most meats but isn’t sure about it right now (Mirabel and Miguel want her to wait till she’s closer to her teens because of the health effects they’ve heard it has on children and she’s keeping that in mind, too).
She can play the accordion, the piano, and the maracas, and plans to try and learn more.
Mariana likes learning different languages and can speak English, French, varying types of Spanish, and bits of the romani language (that one Cornel taught her but he doesn’t remember too much of said language so it’s sparse).
Mariana is jealous of the record player in Marisol’s room because she thinks it’s cool but she won’t admit it if asked by anyone other than Marisol.
Marisol, Marcelo, Renata, and Vera like to joke that Mariana is ‘gatekeeping the family sight’/ ‘stole all the twenty-twenty vision’.
She finds skeletons creepy and doesn’t like them. Which is unfortunate because Marcelo dressed as a skeleton for halloween most of their childhood.
Mariana, on the other hand, made her own costumes—which backfired only once when she accidentally brought her mask to life and couldn’t get out of it (which made her develop a whole new fear).
She’s a big fan of cosplay and often does intricate ones when able.
Mariana eats lemons raw.
Mariana can drive—but her parents don’t know that. Only Marisol and Marcelo can.
Mariana has a black belt and, like her great Tía Pepa, is very good at fighting and has a temper on her.
Mariana chews her nails when nervous.
Another one of her favorite video games is Fix-it-builds (aka Auradon’s version of Minecraft in my au).
Mariana is the most fidgety of her siblings.
She spends a lot of time in the treehouse Agustín, Bruno, Gabriel, and Félix built for the next gen kids.
Out of the Rivera Madrigal Triplets, Mariana knows the most swears.
Despite being a bad actor, she has quite a good innocent face that is good at getting her out of trouble.
Her creations will not hurt her willingly. The only time one ever came close was the time she accidentally brought her halloween mask to life but they eventually figured out that it was just trying to protect her from Marcelo’s costume.
Once convinced Marcelo for a month that he was found in a KFC bucket next to a dumpster and was rescued after he made her mad (she can’t remember why).
Mariana spends a lot of time with her parental family. More than Marcelo, Marsiol, and Vera do but around the same amount that Renata does.
She was a bed-wetter as a kid for an embarrassingly long time and didn't have a lot of sleepovers because of it.
She really likes the band the Donkeyettes and Aziz’s music.
She’s subscribed to both Aziz and Tulip on Auratube.
Tulip's channel is “Perfect Perfection and Pranks with Tulip” and is Mariana’s absolutely favorite channel ever.
Mariana basically hero workshops Tulip now that I think of it.
(Inspired by Lidia Madrigal again) Mariana got people to finally start remembering her name after a tantrum of hers caused one of her doodle drawings to go on a rampage in the Encanto.
After this incident several people from Auradon offered to put a ‘hold’ on Mariana’s gift or take it away completely. The people were, of course, chased off by Mirabel, Luisa, and Julieta who were offended by this.
Mariana was very smug when they found out Santa Claus was real and wouldn’t let Marisol hear the end of it (because of how she told them he wasn’t).
Had a ‘clone’ nightmare incident one time because she accidently brought a very realistic portrait of her to life while the adults were away and it was left to her cousins to figure out who was the real Mariana. She never brought any picture or artwork of her to life again.
Mariana is terrified of big dogs. Absolutely terrified. She got attacked by one once who had a bad and irresponsible owner, and has been scared of them ever since (the dog was rehomed to a better owner).
Mariana has bitten several people for being mean to her family. Mostly people who've been mean to Bruno because there are a lot of them.
Mariana will burst into song at random for seemingly no reason sometimes.
She can walk in platform heels.
Her favorite drink is Shape-Shifting Fruit Treats (which a smoothie Julieta makes).
Her favorite food is Sweet and Savory Corn Balls.
Her favorite sweet that her family makes is Mystical Gift Cookies.
Mariana is a horrible liar.
Mariana is still terrified of La Llorona.
Mariana sleeps with a weighted blanket.
Mariana is clumsier than Marisol but compared to the rest of their siblings and their mother and abuelo, she isn't very clumsy at all.
She discovered you can hide under rugs while in Casita and now uses that all the time during hide n’ seek. No one can ever find her.
She proofreads Marisol's books and fanfiction, and edits them when needed. She also writes her own.
It is very hard to embarrass Mariana and because of that, she is will not hesitate to put herself in embarrassing situations if it means lessening her cousins and siblings’ embarrassment.
She used to cling to her dad and refuse to let go when she was little whenever they left the house. It was a nightmare when she started school.
When she grows up she plans to get a lot of tattoos and she even has a few decisions for some she had in mind already.
Her door shows her covered in paint, standing beside a canvas with her face on it.
She has a couple of book shelves in her room along with a radio and a cd player as well as a tv.
Her baby blanket/quilt is green with yellow roses and a couple of peacock feather patterned squares here and there.
Her room is about twice as big, if not a little bigger, then the nursery with dark blue, black, and pink bird wallpaper on two of the walls and space where she cannot only draw but paint as well. These drawings are easier to get off with an eraser than they would be on paper.
Inside her room she has a bed that's big enough to fit her, Marcelo, and Marisol with a green and yellow wooden frame. She has peacock bedsheets and her bed is absolutely covered in pillows and stuffed animals of every shape and size.
She has a peacock pattern weighted blanket that rests on her bed along with her baby blanket and the green blanket with one of her doodles embroidered on it that her mom made her for her fifth birthday.
The floor in her room is a soft pastel yellow colored carpet that cleans itself. It is the softest carpet you will ever feel.
The ceiling has the same glow in the dark stars that one of the older kids stuck on the nursery ceiling but it also has glow in the dark hummingbirds on it too.
After Antonio gave her Art the elephant, she found that her room and door had expanded so that Art could enter and that her room had created a not so little era for him to call his own.
Mariana’s room also a couple of filing cabinets for her put the drawings she wants to keep, a hummingbird toy chest, a hummingbird chair, and a hummingbird desk.
She has a couple of pictures of her friends and family up around the room in elephant shaped picture frames.
She also has a closet where her clothes are stored, a dark room off to the side of her room through another door, and a storage area for her easel and canvases.
One time, when she had some kids from school over for her birthday, one mean girl wrote some very mean and inappropriate things on one of the walls (which made her cry) and Casita got mad she threw the girl out of the room and out of the house. It caused quite the ruckus but Casita refused to apologize and Mirabel wasn't too keen on apologizing either when she figured out what happened. That girl is still allowed in Casita.
Got an infection once from doing a stick and poke (a tattoo created by manually poking the skin with a needle dipped in ink). She has a scar from it. She got grounded for that one.
When she's overwhelmed or upset, the drawings in her room refuse to let her leave until she's calmed down . Her creations also are more reluctant to listen to her.

"Business. And pleasure."

Dreaming of everything, she truly expected nothing as a true daughter of Zaun should - and she always has been one in her heart of darkness and botanic science. As a fragile flower in her appearance, Corina quickly rose to become the youngest chem baroness beginning her industrial journey as other baroness' most precious protegee. Two women found mutual respect worlds apart. They were elements that are destined to differ. Steel and art. One cherished dangerous beauty embodied in delicacy of petals with toxin hidden in every stem. Other was very practical and strict prefering metal and gear. Between Veraza and Glasc there was however always a silent understanding. Eventually, under strong metal wings of powerful Renata Glasc, Corina would blossom growing her very own roots. And her roots were running deep now. In the eye of many Zaunities she was a sorceress. They believed that deep in the glass - shaped cultivars, magic rituals of enchantment took place and Corina herself did absolutely nothing to prove the Downsiders wrong. She walked across Zaun with grace. Intoxicating. Yearning for the world to be spellbound. The connection she created with her plants felt ethereal, unworldly and unreal yet she was no mage, only a talented scientist. Was she? (Silco's quarters, midnight) Corina emerged from shadows slowly walking down the stairs. Her green dress made of luxury lace was sleeveless, revealing legs and mid - calf long. Her gloves were long. Her ankles covered in climbing vines were no tattoo. Toxic plants entwisted her skin with adoration; tight as dark ropes. - Hush. - Corina whispered with love, her tone tender and sweet. Vines vanished. It understood. Veraza wanted to be alone. Flowers in chem baroness' hair formed a subtle tiara of belladonna's wreath. Deadly, poisonous and delightfully poetic. Silco knew his guest's face and she instantly recognised his tall and slender elegant silhouette as well. The Enchantress came closer. She smiled. - I do still have my most faithful messengers in Piltover but for now, the sound of my name is too loud. I was cleared of charges and I am not wanted yet but the young Kiramman is smart. Shouldn't be underestimated. - Recalling the moment of her being exposed and burnt as a master infiltrator, she offered a new perspective. She always did. Corina was one step ahead her rivals but this time her rival was a challenge; another Mastermind indeed. - I will stay away from the Upper City for a while but I have found someone special. He is spineless, corrupted and with no moral code. You will be delighted. I regret not introducing you personally to this young sheriff enforcer. His name is Marcus and he has a daughter. I'm wondering how much he will cost you but he may be useful. Another gift. Perhaps better one than a pet rat but worse than personal seeds of toxic plants?

Do you think if any bad guy tried to forcibly kiss Emmrich, he'd literally necrotize them with a kiss or full on drain the life out of them that way? I just think with Emmrich being such a seasoned pro, it makes him all the more terrifying if he needs to be!
Anon,
this is some big-brained absolutely i c o n i c shit right here.
Can you imagine a particular opponent having the upper-hand over the select few of the team who have gone to face them? Perhaps it's Zara Renata, taunting Lucanis as he's forced to kneel bound and helpless, unable to prevent her running her fingers through Emmrich's hair, or a pointed, perfectly manicured nail down his cheek and along his jaw to tip up his chin in a faux tender gesture. Lucanis and Spite's furious snarling only motivating her further as she kisses the Necromancer. Perhaps she intends to ram a dagger through his heart while she does so, to really break the Crow. Instead, to her surprise, and Lucanis' shock and betrayal, Emmrich kisses back. He can feel Zara's amused smile against his lips, her eyes closing to deepen the kiss, which means she doesn't see the moment Emmrich's lidded eyes glow green as he delves deep into his pool of magic. By the time Zara realises, feels the tendrils of his magic spreading through her like burgeoning roots, it's far, far to late. The necrotic magics spreads from their joined lips, draining Zara's life force like a vampiric kiss, leaving only waste and atrophy in its wake. The kiss only breaks when Zara's concealed dagger drops to the floor and her crumpled body follows -- shriveled lungs dragging in the last of her dying breaths. Emmrich spits on the floor next to her as she dies and their magical restraints fade to nothing. Emmrich's new nickname is lady-killer and he really doesn't know how to feel about it.

Memory Braid - Chapter 1
Tangled Thoughts
Summary: Half of a year after the Evanuris are slain, Carina "Rook" de Riva suspects that Illario may have some lingering problems with blood magic. Together with Emmrich, they attempt to help Illario regain or reclaim memories distorted or stolen from him by Zara Renata.
Tags: Blood Magic, Gaslighting, Memory Alteration, Illario Dellamorte, Rook de Riva, Emmrich Volkarin
Read below or on AO3.
Illario walked just a little behind Carina with a carefully practiced gait. Barely enough sound to let her know that he was there without making too much noise. It was an ingrained habit after accompanying her across Thedas for the last several months whenever his cousin was unavailable. He'd found out the hard way early on that she knew where he was regardless of his silence and that a sharp whack from her staff was just as deadly as any of Catarina's canes.
He liked to test the limits of what he could get away with, but Illario also wanted his face to stay arranged as it was a lot more. He rubbed at his nose absentmindedly at the memory.
"Are you entirely sure we are in the right place, cara mio? It's a bit… dark," he said, as they approached a particularly daunting set of doors. He'd been to Nevarra many times, but never into the Necropolis complex itself, and was finding the atmosphere more than a little unsettling.
"Don't call me that, Illario," Carina sighed, without any animosity. She looked back up at him, shaking her head. "I promise, we're in the right place, and yes it is dark, dusty, haunted, and sometimes morbid. It's a house of the dead and their keepers."
As if on cue, a smaller door inset into the left door opened, and a short skeleton wearing a leather mage's coat with green jeweled eyes stepped out. "Manfred!" Carina, exclaimed happily, picking up her pace to meet him. They did a game of rock, paper, scissors, while he exclaimed "ROOK!" and Illario rolled his eyes.
"Ah, good! You're both just in time," another figure emerged from the doorway, and Illario noticed the older gentleman ducking slightly as he passed through, dressed in a stylish array of robes and a truly staggering amount of gold jewelry. "Carina! How lovely to see you, and well met, young Master Dellamorte," the man bowed slightly. "I welcome you to the Necropolis. If you'll both please follow me, Manfred has just finished preparations for tea."
"Just Illario, please," he responded amiably.
"Illario, of course," the Emmrich responded, gestured for them to precede him through the door. Once they stepped inside, Illario was pleasantly surprised to find a much warmer interior as large stone corridors gave way to wood and drapery lined hallways. The overall effect was more like a lavish funeral home than a grave. Carina chatted ahead with the professor, trading pleasantries as they walked and catching up on news about their friends and companions.
"Neve also sent along some case files, said you'd be interested," Carina said, the smile obvious in her voice, even though she was not facing him. Illario realized he hadn't been paying attention to the conversation, but there was something about the detective that always drew him in.
"Oh? I will give them my full attention, once we're done today," the older mage gushed. "She has certainly given me access to the most interesting remains for her work. And the mysteries we get to solve! Surely the highest privilege."
"I'm sorry, did you say remains?" Illario couldn't stop himself from asking, cursing his own curiosity.
"Oh, yeah," Carina replied, looking back at him with an unreadable expression. "Emmrich isn't just a amazingly skilled necromancer and expert on the fade. He can actually talk to the dead, as long as there are bits to talk back."
"Ah, I see," he replied, somewhat at a loss. Illario's mind whirled a dance around the possibilities for such a talent as they approached a doorway set into a small alcove. He came to the conclusion that a bit more caution when working in Nevarra in the future should be in order, and wondered if it made Lucanis as uneasy as it did him.
There was a small wood and gold plaque outside their destination that read:
Emmrich Volkarin, Professor and Senior Mage Manfred Volkarin, Apprentice
The area around the door featured a small, round table with a bowl for letters and cards, as well as a vase of fresh lilacs and broader leaves from another plant Illario didn't have a name for. Their scent was light and invigorating as Emmrich ushered them inside.
The entryway provided a closet and table to leave anything unnecessary, and Illario followed Carina's example by removing his coat and the majority of his unconcealed knives, leaving only the decorative blade that was a part of his belt buckle. One had to maintain some sense of style. The concealed knives, of course, remained so.
Illario was pleased to find the interior of the apartments stylish, open and inviting. Large, tall bookshelves lined each wall, reaching up to a second floor, with a balcony that wrapped around the room. Doors led away to either side, and towards the back, signaling a larger residence than could be assumed from the exterior.
The decor was still funereal, but many of the surfaces were graced with plants and flowers, some cut, some growing in place. A particularly impressive black, white, and purple orchid had a place of pride near a plush, green armchair. The floor was well polished wood, but most of it was covered by some of the most expensive and beautiful carpets Illario had ever seen. Everything was well lit with warm light from sconces along the wall, and a positively cheerful fireplace.
"Come, sit," Emmrich gestured to the comfortable chairs and sofa arranged around a large round table in the center of the room, which had been laid out with some light refreshments. "Manfred will pour, and we can talk."
Illario watched in fascination as the skeleton brought over some excessively steaming water, and poured it into an ornate teapot as they took their seats on the sofa. The smell of hibiscus, mint, lemon, and grassy herbs wafted around the table. Carina got herself settled as the tea brewed, taking off the leather gloves she habitually wore and shook out her dark curls until barely the tips of her ears showed through.
"So," Emmrich put his hands together , steepling his fingers, and leaning forward in his chair after dispersing cups of tea to each of his guests. "What is it that I can assist you with today, Rook? Your letter made it sound like a matter of some urgency and delicacy."
Illario looked to Carina, now far more curious about their visit than he had been on the way here. He had assumed that like several other visits he had been party to, it would be more of a social call than business. Lucanis hadn't mentioned any particular trouble to guard against, aside what had become normal in the wake of opposing the elven gods. While keeping him in the dark during their contracts had almost been a Dellamorte family tradition, the look on Carina's face told him that his cousin may not have known the reason for their visit any more than he did.
"Yeah, I think 'delicacy' covers it," Carina sipped her tea, not even bothering to test it for poison. "Emmrich, you did me a really big favor when you pulled me out of the Fade prison. Well, saving me was huge, but after everything was done, you used the resources of the Necropolis to make doubly sure that I didn't have any lingering blood magic from Solas."
"Oh? Yes, and of course it was my pleasure," Emmrich replied, looking concerned. "Has anything felt amiss?"
"For me?" Carina asked, and darted a glance at Illario. "No, I'm fine, even if my dreams can be a bit… heavy sometimes. I'm not here for me, and—" she held a hand up before the mage could interrupt, "Lucanis and Spite are doing fine, both of them thoroughly enjoying thwarting the enemies of House Dellamorte and Antiva in general. There's a lot of work to go around."
"Spiting ones enemies would have an obvious appeal for man and spirit," Emmrich nodded in congenial approval. "So what is it that I can assist you with today?"
"Do you remember how you described what Solas did to me? A memory braid?"
"Yes, indeed. Blood magic, woven through and anchored to the victim's memories to distort them out of shape. In your case, Solas wove through your knowledge and care for Varric Tethras to distort your view of reality," Emmrich said, his voice kind, but with an edge of a long simmering anger. "It was a very sophisticated and insidious curse, which tightened the more you thought on it, and reinforced itself with your new false memories. I was very glad that its influence ended when you emerged from your time in the prison of Regret."
Mierde. Teia had told him a little of what had happened when Carina was missing, but Illario hadn't really been able to understand what she meant until now. Blood magic. Even the idea was enough to give him a piercing headache, and he pinched the bridge of his nose with a wince as he screwed his eyes shut. The whole conversation was putting him on edge.
"I'm pretty sure I know someone else with a similar problem," Carina said plainly, taking another sip of tea.
Illario joined her this time, and found that the tea seemed to push back the growing pain between his eyes. It was one of the better herbal blends he had tried, and made a note to ask the professor about it later. He also trusted that if a de Riva wasn't concerned about poison, he probably didn't need to be. And besides, this didn't feel like the day Carina would pick to finally kill him for his sins. It would be rude to intrude on her friend's hospitality for a bit of family housekeeping.
"It's someone who definitely knew a blood mage well," Carina continued. "They were around the magic for an extended time, and seem to not remember some events the way others do. Or, like me, they are missing bits of information or time that can't be easily explained, even though they don't know it. Stupid blood magic, all over again."
Blood magic. It's always blood.
This time, the pain hit Illario squarely in the temples and he almost dropped the cup and saucer, only saved by years of muscle training. Shoving the dishes roughly to the table, he crammed balled fists against his eyes as a fog blanketed his sight and thunder pounded in his ears. He could feel Carina's hand on his shoulder as she said something he couldn't make out.
"Amatus. Just a bit of blood, and you can have everything. Keep everything," Zara's voice in his ear, her hands pressed against his chest. "You won't even miss it."
Illario felt like he was drowning in the sound of his own heartbeat, burning hands holding him as he roared against the pain. His nose started to bleed into his hands.
"… steady, Carina…" A distant murmur of concern, followed by a crash.
"We have you, Illario," he heard Carina's voice, strained, but suddenly clear. Her hands were no longer fire, but cool on his shoulders, keeping him grounded. Upright. "Just keep breathing."
_______
Several minutes later with a lot of coaching from Emmrich, Illario looked more like himself. Carina could tell he was still a bit shaken, but years of maintaining the finest control in stressful situations made those signs slight. Even so, she was fairly certain that's why Emmrich had suggested they remove themselves to his study, which had large, comfortable chairs and a not inconsiderable amount of magical protections.
"Let me understand —" Illario started, then sighed. "I don't know what to ask."
"If you will allow me, I believe I can explain in a way that won't engender a repeat of what happened earlier, " Emmrich stated simply as he sat in a large chair directly facing him. "Carina has suspected that you may have been subject to magic similar to what she experienced, and I believe that she is partially correct."
"What, I'm cursed?" Illario snorted humorlessly, rolling his eyes and scowling.
"Yes," the necromancer answered simply, and Illario blinked at him, nonplussed. "It's a crude description, but from what I have seen, it is likely your former paramour may have used her magic to manipulate your perception of things. Far less elegant than the magic employed by Solas, but that is hardly surprising."
"Why dance around it then?" Illario spat, "You could just call it what—"
"No!" Emmrich abruptly cut him off, gesturing for silence with a swift cutting motion of his hands. "It is best if we talk around the topic. I need to take a closer look, and each mention of things tied into the magic can make that more difficult for me and quite painful for you."
Illario looked to Carina, the suspicion and apprehension written openly on this face.
"Emmrich can be trusted," Carina reached out to put a hand on his shoulder. "While he gets ready, I can try to explain a bit if that helps."
"Alright, yes," Illario sighed, still furrowing his brow. "I clearly don't understand something."
"Zara used her … skills to manipulate your memories," Carina said after a moment thinking her way through the words. "There have been a few times when you've talked about things that have happened, and either didn't remember them correctly or there were big things missing or added."
"I may just have a different view," Illario said, frowning. "You know how unreliable people's memories can be."
"That's what I thought at first," Carina nodded, leaning back in her chair. "Especially for things that happened a long time ago, or were just … open to interpretation."
"Alright, I'll bite," Illario shrugged, and waved his hand. "Can you give me something specific?"
Carina looked to Emmrich, who glanced over and nodded.
"I'll give you an easy one. Do you remember when I first saw you in Treviso? The night Neve and I met with you, Teia, Viago, and Caterina?"
"Yes," Illario sighed. "That was not a great night for me for many reasons. But yes, I remember."
"What contract did Caterina give me?"
"Caterina told you to find the Ossuary, free Lucanis, and she would have her favorite grandson back," Illario rolled his eyes. "She also said that she suspected someone had betrayed him and tasked me with rooting them out. It was a test, which of course, I failed."
"That's only partially right," Carina shook her head gently. "Caterina didn't call Lucanis her favorite. And she told you to go with us to the Ossuary, which was the test. I'm still not sure what happened, but Caterina said you came back agitated, the two of you argued about whether Lucanis could really be alive, and then she was knocked out."
"She said this?" Illario looked wary, his mouth making a grimace and his face paling as he stared hard at Carina. It felt like he was daring her to admit it was an elaborate ruse.
"Yes," Carina sighed. "The first part — where she sent me to the Ossuary with you — was witnessed by three other people besides you, I, and Caterina. I don't know about the second part, but I don't think your grandmother was lying."
"So? What does that mean? I was forced to do things? I didn't have control of my actions?" Illario laughed bitterly, but Carina could see a vast pain behind that.
"No? Maybe?" Carina shrugged, knowing it wasn't reassuring. "I wasn't manipulated in the same way, but I know I made decisions — freely made decisions — that I wouldn't have if I'd known what was really happening around me. I can't say now if that was good or bad, just that I didn't get the chance to make a better choice."
"I can't let you take my mistakes, Carina," Illario gave a mocking half smile. "They're all I have left that I can claim as truly mine."
_____
In short order, Emmrich placed a couple of small glasses in front of Illario and Carina and indicated for them to drink. Carina downed hers, and seemed to instantly regretted it as she choked back a cough. Illario took a small sip. The concoction was both bitter and spicy, with an aftertaste he didn't recognize.
"Gingerwort truffle?" she wheezed, brandishing the glass at Emmrich. Illario stared at Carina as she huffed. He had never seen such an animated reaction from her, even when someone had actually tried to slip her poison a couple of months ago. It was almost comforting to see her so discomfited in a way. "Is it really needed for this? Blecchh."
"I assure you, it is quite helpful," Emmrich gave her a slight frown, the first negative reaction Illario had seen from him in company. "Your own experiences notwithstanding, I believe it should help establish a rapport between you, the local spirits, and Illario. Some what akin to what Spite facilitated for Lucanis and yourself in Minrathous some months ago."
"Oh?" Carina rasped, placing her empty glass down on the table. "Well, drink up then, Illario. It won't kill you, but if you start hearing voices, just know that's totally normal."
More cautiously than Carina, Illario drank the remainder of the glass, which went down more easily as he completed it. He assumed that the spice and aftertaste were the truffle, but they were mixed in with quite a few other things. A gentle warmth spread from his stomach out to the rest of his body gradually, like entering a warm pool inches at a time.
"Excellent," Emmrich gestured and Manfred collected their glasses. "I am going to start a basic incantation to the spirits, and I recommend you both sit back and close your eyes. Meditative state, or simple sleep, should be enough to begin the process. Carina, if at any time you feel that things should end, a mere exercise of your magic will be enough to let me know to cease efforts on my end."
"Is there much danger?" Illario asked Emmrich, his words feeling a bit slow as he relaxed back into the chair.
"Oh, yes, certainly," the reply sounded distant, somewhere on the edge of a creeping black around his vision. "However, inaction on this would carry a much higher risk to your person, and potentially those around you."
_____
Carina blinked and found herself in an altered Treviso, standing on the edge of the Markets just after dusk. Or, at least it appeared to be around that time, but it was impossible to tell. The air around her had hints of the familiar scents and sounds, but her vision grayed out around the edges in a way that reminded her more of the Fade than the place itself.
"I need to pick something up before I return to The Diamond," a somewhat younger version of Illario stood next to her, contemplating the stall in front of them. To her eyes, it looked empty, but he was clearly seeing more than she could in his memory.
"Alright, take your time," Carina responded automatically, feeling it was the right thing to say. Feeling like someone had said it. "I can wait, it isn't like I have anywhere I need to be."
"You will not miss your appointment, cousin," Illario rolled his eyes, and gave her a slight smirk. His face was relaxed, with a pronounced five-o'clock shadow, and his outfit was much less uniform than the one she had seen him favoring when they met. "The captain knows you will arrive on the hour."
"Yes, yes," Carina laughed, and gave a small shrug. "I mean it, take your time. Just make sure to bring Teia the tea she asked for."
"I don't have time to indulge your vanity, cousin," Lucanis said, with a clear edge to his voice, and Illario scowled in response. "You can expand your glove collection another time."
Carina stepped back, and in her place was the ghost of a man she hadn't met, Lucanis Dellamorte on the night he was captured by Venatori and supposedly died. He'd spoken when she had, but his words felt wrong and out of place. The image of him floated where she had stood, blurred around the edges with a reddish brown aura. He smelled of iron and sulfur.
"Absolutely not," Carina gestured sharply through the outline, and could feel the magic resist, but give way as she pressed. It dissolved in an aftertaste of blood.
Illario's expression went slack, then pinched as he squinted at where his 'cousin' had been standing.
"That is … not how it happened," Illario shook his head. "He had been so condescending in the weeks leading up to his mission, taking every opportunity to twist my words. It made it easier that night. Not easy, just not impossible. But that isn't what happened at all."
"No, and I suspect there are a few more of these shadows on your way to the docks tonight," Carina responded, placing a hand lightly on Illario's shoulder. "Well, time's wasting. Let's get Lucanis to his ship and see what other ghosts the night has to offer."

OK, quest pickup from Emmrich and then we'll either head off to that or to the Cauldron, depending on which intrigues me more. :P
Dammit where is my Bellara romance convo? Slow burn for daaays.
Anyway, hi, Emmrich, how are you doing tod-- AHHHHH
"Hi, Emmrich!" Helena begins cheerfully, then trails off into a bemused stare as she registers the dead body stretched on the stone slab in front of her. "You've... got a guest."
"Ah!" Emrich smiles brightly at her. "Rook. You remember the Hand of Glory?" He gestures at the disembodied hand currently floating next to him, suspended in a green aura of necromantic magic.
Helena has to resist the urge to grin. He sounds like he's making her an introduction at a formal party. "Hard to forget," she says dryly. "You figure out what those Venatori who broke into the Necropolis were doing with it?"
"The hand is how they broke in," Emmrich explains. She can hear an academic note in his voice, as if he is delivering a lecture on the subject. "The simpler undead are blind to its bearer when its tapers are lit. Sadly, only a death mage could have provided them with this forbidden necromancy."
Helena tilts her head slowly to one side. Is he saying that one of the Mourn Watch let the Venatori into the Necropolis? Another traitor? They only just finished realizing Illario was probably fucking Zara Renata...
"If they're helping the Venatori," she says slowly, "that has to stop."
"Agreed," Emmrich says promptly, and gestures to the corpse sprawled out before him. "I've made some inquiries; this man is one of the death mage's victims. If he knows where this rogue necromancer is hiding, my corpse whispering will give us the answer."
Helena frowns, rubbing her jaw. She likes Emmrich, and finds his enthusiasm for his work somewhat fascinating - but it's also very unnerving at times. "You can't just get what you need from, I don't know, marks on his body?" she asks hopefully.
Emmrich sighs. "How he died isn't the question. It's who held the knife," he says gravely. And for a moment, the placid good humor that usually characterizes his expression flickers, revealing something steelier underneath. "I'll not allow more victims like this."
Helena meets his eyes for a moment thoughtfully, then nods. "Okay," she says. "Do all the... corpse stuff." It's not like she's scared of it; it's just... creepy. That's all. But if it's what he's got to do, then it is what it is.
Emmrich nods slowly at her. "I must warn you," he says, "it will be harder to coax answers from this poor man than from the dead I spoke to in the Necropolis."
She doesn't have time to ask exactly what that means, though, as green light flares up around his hands and down over the bracelets along his forearms.
"Let flame rekindle your sight," he croons softly, and Helena watches with sudden fascination as he performs a series of deeply intricate gestures in midair, the green light following the path of his fingertips. On the slab, the body stirs, spasms, its muscles twitching in concert with that dance of Emmrich's fingertips. "Let breath and light rise again," he murmurs, and the body sucks in a ragged, straining breath, its eyes flickering open.
(A/N: (BG3 Narrator Voice) "The corpse regards you... lifelessly..." )
Silence for a moment, as Emmrich considers the corpse, carefully adjusting the flickers of necromantic light around them. Helena barely breathes; the air feels still as a corpse itself, as if they have stepped outside time.
"Who did this to you?" Emmrich whispers.
The corpse's jaw grinds open, and a wheezing, inhuman voice sounds from its lungs. "Eyes... hidden..." it rasps. "Dust and cold..."
"Give us a name," Emmrich insists gently.
The body spasms, shuddering on the slab. "They come for this one... the spirits shriek... they come..."
Emmrich's hands twitch again, a gesture at once controlling and soothing, adjusting the magical field, settling the spasming corpse. "A name..." he rumbles.
Silence, and then the body wheezes the word out like air escaping from a balloon. "Black...thorne..."
The name means nothing to Helena, but she can see Emmrich's frown abruptly deepen. "Return to your rest," he says gently, and then his hands move again in that delicate dance, untying each knot of the magic until it has faded completely. The light ebbs away, and the body is still and cold again on the table.
Helena realizes that she's staring, eyes wide. This is still creepy as hell - but she can't deny it's impressive how Emmrich was able to drag the answer free, in spite of evident resistance but while remaining gentle. "Guess not every body wants to give up its secrets," she says conversationally, leaning against the edge of the slab.
"Corpse whispering is a delicate process," Emmrich murmurs absently.
"Uh huh," Helena says, her lips twitching.
But Emmrich doesn't seem to notice the humor; his thoughts are already moving ahead, analyzing what the corpse told them. "Blackthorne Manor is an abandoned country house outside Nevarra City," he explains. "Our victim mentioned spirits. If they've also fallen prey to forbidden magic, they'll need our help as well." He looks up to meet her eyes. "Let's depart for Blackthorne when you're ready. I'd like to speak to the necromancer behind this."
Helena nods promptly. She may not know much about the spirit forces at work - but she understand well enough that this is Venatori cruelty. And that she knows how to deal with.

Giovanni and Dayana Espinosa Madrigal Headcanons;

His full name is Giovanni Refugio Espinosa Madrigal.
He is the adopted son of Antonio Espinosa Madrigal.
Giovanni was adopted after Antonio caught him chasing Pico the toucan all alone in the forest when he was one years old. He'd been abandoned not long before.
Antonio didn't intend to adopt the boy but it just kind of happened because he and the family got attached. In less than a day.
He will be three years old by d3.
His adoption day is August 20th. Which, if it's anywhere close to his actual birthday would make him a Leo.
Giovanni doesn't go to school and likely won't be excited when he has to because he doesn't like being away from his father and sister for long.
He spends a lot of time at Luisa, Ryder, and his father’s Animal Sanctuary and Vet service (known simply as the Encanto Animal Sanctuary for now). It is very likely that he will inherit this business or work for them at the very least when he's older.
Doesn't know much about musicians but his favorite song is ‘Play That Monkey Music’, which his cousins introduced him to.
He doesn't have any idea that the big sister he adores absolutely cannot stand that song.
Giovanni is one of the few people Arlo will allow to touch his hair—even if he's a little rough with it.
His favorite shows are ‘The Great Mouse Detective’ and ‘The Thunderbolt Adventure Hour’.
His favorite book to be read is ‘Simón el bobito’.
Giovanni does not know he is adopted.
He has been described as playful, friendly, sweet, clingy, easily excitable, and even tempered as well as quiet, fun loving, odd/strange, sensitive, fair, energetic, patient, curious, eccentric. But funnily enough he’s not really shy at all.
Not long after he was adopted Mirabel made him a toucan plushie and green, white, and black toucan quilt.
Eventually he will have the gift of Inverse Zoolingualism—meaning he will be able to speak through animals.
He is single (because he’s three) and he’s friends with Micha Rivera and Ballard ‘North’ Nattura.
Giovanni loves both of his grandparents very much but if he had to pick a favorite, he'd pick Félix.
Dolores is his favorite aunt and Camilo is his favorite uncle (including their partners in that statement).
Outside of his immediate (adult) family, Mirabel is his favorite.
Out of his cousins he's the closest to Amada, Vera, Renata, and Hugo.
Giovanni loves climbing but isn't very good at it since he's little. He also likes playing in the mud, jumping in puddles, helping Isabela garden, putting on puppet shows, playing with bugs, playing with animals, and chasing after butterflies and fireflies.
Antonio often takes Giovanni and Dayana canoeing because they find it fun.
Giovanni also likes hiking/backpacking, jogging, racing, sledding, foraging/berry picking, jumping in leaf piles, swimming, and playing games like tag, hide and seek, leapfrog, and ‘mud cooking’.
The three year old also adores playdough and making things out of it, and playing blocks.
Antonio has his and Dayana's drawings tapped all over the fridge and the walls of his, Ryder, and Luisa's Animal Sanctuary.
If Giovanni gets upset, you can figure it out pretty quickly because you'll find him hiding alone in a blanket/pillow/couch cushion fort.
Giovanni also adores finger painting, dancing, and doing obstacle courses that his family set up. As well as playing on the playground.
Being three, he also finds joy in helping his friends and family do little tasks. He's basically become the family's little quest helper.
Loves clouds for no apparent reasons.
Loves the shows Foodie Folktales (like Veggie Tales) and Abracadabra Avenue (like Sesame Street).
Giovanni has been given several affectionate names by the family, including but not limited to: Gio, Vanni, Giov, Anni, Little G, Mi pequeño animalito, Cazador, Lambkin, Little Bear, Honeybee, Toucan Sam, pequeño montañero, Pequeño escalador, tadpole, little treefrog, little beedle, leapfrog, ducky, duck, chicken legs, nature heart, and Regalo del bosque (meaning ‘Gift of the forest’).
Right now, because he doesn't have his gift, he's still in the nursery. Which he shares with Juan and Javier. But when he gets his room it's very likely that it will start looking a lot like Antonio's.
Giovanni is tiny.
Despite not being the youngest-youngest in the family, he is considered the baby of the family and everyone adores him.
He loves playing with Antonio’s hair and getting piggyback rides.
Giovanni's favorite dessert is Cholado.
His favorite candy is gummi snakes but he also like poison apples.
His favorite drink is a tie between apple juice and chocolate milk.
And his favorite food is Empanadas.
Giovanni is rarely seen without his toucan plushie (which he named ‘Tuca’) and ‘blankie’.
One time, the family went on vacation and after checking out of their hotel he realized he'd forgotten to pack Giovanni's blankie after washing it.
That was the day they discovered that Giovanni could in fact have a complete and utter meltdown. Luckily, one of the hotel workers found it and returned it when Félix’s brother, Gabriel, returned looking for it.
Unlike his extended family, Giovanni actually has two animal companions. A jaguar cub named ‘Cúmbila’ and a baby toucan that can barely fly named ‘Papaya’.
Surprisingly, Antonio didn't have anything to do with Giovanni getting either of them. Parce’s cub and Pico’s baby bird both just genuinely liked Giovanni despite him not being able to understand them.
Giovanni knows all the swear words, which he informed a horrified Carlos, Hugo, Leta, and Belinda once when they got in an argument because Carlos swore ,in front of him.
His first word was ‘papá’, his second and third words were ‘birdie’ and ‘kitty’, and his fourth word was ‘Miércoles’. Agustín was so mortified that everyone knew who was to blame immediately.
For the longest time, Giovanni didn't seem to be afraid of anything. Always running into danger and giving Antonio grey hairs. But it turns out, he is scared of something: vacuum cleaners.
He, like Antonio as a child, does not like baths and is always difficult about getting one. The only way Antonio can even get him into the bath half the time is the promise of bath toys and magic bubbles.
Giovanni isn't allowed in Antonio's room unsupervised because he once nearly drowned in the river in the room but was saved by the river dolphin in it last minute. The three year old was one so he thankfully doesn't remember it very well, if at all.
The ravenette is constantly trying to help Antonio grow his seashell collection by stuffing his pockets full of ones he finds. These ‘seashells’ aren't always sea shells.
Giovanni talks to his stuffed animals and toys, and tries to feed them often.
He loves Luisa hugs and will pout at anyone who stops him from getting one (it's surprisingly effective at getting the donkey farmer to leave Luisa alone).
Antonio had to take him to get rabies shots once after he was bitten by an unknown animal. It was not a fun day.
Giovanni took it like a champ though and he got a lollipop.
Hugo dropped Giovanni one time when holding him and cried for hours because he felt so bad. Meanwhile, a then one year old Giovanni, was giggling and yelling ‘Again! Again!’
Giovanni has the biggest and cutest brown eyes you'll ever see with dark brown (almost black) hair that curls slightly at the bottom, dimples, a mole on each cheek a couple of inches under his eyes, and pale sienna skin. He's also missing several of his baby teeth.
His hair tangles easily and Antonio struggled a bit with learning how to take care of it because he wasn't used to Giovanni’s type of hair. But he's got it down now.
Giovanni is sweet but he doesn't forget and if you wrong his family or friends, and don't apologize or make up for it, he will not like you solely because of it.
One time Pepa was in a mood and made it snow. The snow ended up being so deep that it went up to Giovanni’s knees and he sank into it.
There is a video from that day of him whining ‘Dayana! Papá! I’m stuck!’ as Antonio tries to pull him out of it with Dayana's help: It's one of Pepa’s favorite videos/pictures of Giovanni.
Giovanni's favorite colors are turquoise, mint green, white, and red. He doesn't like the color grey.
He, Dayana, and Antonio all get along great with Félix's brother, Gabriel.
The ravenette can hold his breath for a surprisingly long time.
Once asked Antonio if “Tío Parce” was his mom. Antonio is still not sure how Giovanni came to that conclusion.
He also quite likes the Monster Pets (like Pokémon) series and pretends that he, himself, is a monster pet. He freaked Camilo out while playing Monster Pet because he wasn't saying anything other than his own name. Camilo thought he'd hit his head or something but no, he was just pretending to be a Monster Pet.
It should come as no surprise that his favorite holidays are World Animal Day, Dog Appreciation Day, and Christmas (because the three year old really wants to see a reindeer🦌, preferably Rudolph, up close).
One time he cried because Carlos accidentally dropped his stuffed animal because he thought his plushie was alive and dropping her hurt it.
Refers to Parce and Pico and Crispi as ‘Tío’ and Bruno’s rats as ‘Tía, Tío, primo, and prima’ all respectively.
Giovanni does not understand why they are not considered adult supervision.
The little boy is also fully under the impression that Antonio got him from the stork.
He is the living definition of a ball of sunshine.
If you make him cry, you will have the fury of every Madrigal within hearing distance rain down on you before you can even blink. Literally in the sense of Arlo and Pepa, in some cases.
Camilo suspects that Hugo's biological father, Ario Berra Ausentarse, is also Giovanni's biological father but hasn't told anyone because he doesn't have proof other than the fact the two have strikingly similar appearances and the fact that Ario hightails it out of the area whenever either of them are in his vicinity.
The only reason he's holding the information back is that he is positive he will have to cover up the man's murder if the familia even suspects that's true. Though it's starting to look like that's going to happen regardless because Pepa is getting suspicious of the similarities between Hugo, Giovanni, and Ario.
He has a pair of duckie shoes that he wears everywhere and he has duckie inflatable arm floaties for when he goes swimming.
Giovanni has epilepsy. Unfortunately the family discovered this during an incident with Ligera’s gift. Ligera still feels awful about it to this day.
Camilo tried to prank him one time by giving him a potato as a gag gift. He then proceeded to be baffled when the three year old actually seemed to like and be thankful for the gift.
There is a video of him, Dayana, and Antonio on vacation somewhere like this one (Giovanni learned the phrase from Carlos).

Her full name is Dayana Noemí Espinosa Madrigal.
She is the adoptive daughter of Antonio Espinosa Madrigal.
She is eight years old by d3.
She was born on April 20th, which makes her a Taurus.
Dayana is a student at the Encanto's only public school and wants to keep it that way. From the way her cousins describe Auradon Prep, it is not a place she wants to be.
She is very close to her adoptive father and her adoptive aunt, Dolores.
She has a bird necklace that Pepa gave her.
Antonio adopted her because she greatly reminded him of Dolores, both personality wise and looks wise, and he couldn't stand to see her look so sad. She was more planned than her younger brother, Giovanni (who was adopted a year before her), was since Antonio adopting him just kind of happened while he had much more time to think about the decision with her.
She was seven when he adopted her after a year of volunteering at the Orphanage where she lived.
Dayana is closest to José, Renata, Vera, Elmira, Princesa, and Avila out of her extended family.
She is adorably protective of Giovanni.
Dayana is one of the few people in the know about the casino in José’s room and even helps him run along with Avila.
She has a blackmail book that she rarely uses.
People overlook her a lot, hence how she has access to information in said blackmail book.
Dayana has quite a few ideas on what she'd like to do when she grows up, including but not limited to: a private inspector, a theme park performer or owner, archeology, and a historian.
The eight year old has been described as clever, detail-oriented, hardworking, fair, shy, graceful, grateful, curious/inquisitive, firm, patient, helpful, caring, analytical, and occasionally very blunt.
But she is also cautious, business minded, secretive, sneaky, reserved, passionate, and aspiring.
Dayana has the gift of ‘monster sight’, as she calls it. This means that she can basically see monsters that nobody else can, regardless of whether she believes in them or not like the boogeyman.
This is how everyone finds out that José does not in fact have telekinesis but a monster that he can control following him around. José included.
Needless to say, people were more than a bit freaked/creeped out. And it was debated for a while whether this was actually a gift or not.
The family was worried she was unwell for a while but quickly figured out that that wasn't the case.
Dayana has a pet kitten she got recently after Dolores’ cat, Romeo, brought it home that she named ‘Smittens’.
Dayana does see the appeal in romance but she's also still eight and thinks boys have cooties, which she does not want, thank you very much.
Her only friend outside of the family and their love interests is Tiger Lily and Lampwick's daughter, Blue Veronica. This doesn't bother her too much however, because Dayana is picky with who she's friends with.
Dayana is a big fan of romance novels, horror stories, and detective stories but doesn't like poetry, though most people in the Encanto assume she does.
She is also a big fan of theme parks and the performers there, and has learned several tricks of theirs from Auratube and how-to-books.
She absolutely adores learning about history—archaeology especially—and wants to learn as much about it as she can.
Elmira is her favorite musician but she also likes the band ‘Aladdin and The Lamps’ quite a bit too. Though she finds their song ‘play that monkey’ music to be overrated.
She doesn't like The Dragon Slayers. She thinks they're too loud.
Her favorite show is ‘the great mouse detective’ but she also likes watching the ‘Young and the Crownless’ and the ‘Real Princesses Of Charmingsville’. She's technically not supposed to but she's sneaky and rarely gets caught.
Helped Bruno improve the mysteries in a couple of his Telenovelas.
Her favorite holiday is Valentine's Day.
Her favorite candy is gummi snakes.
She's been to the Heroes and Heroines Festival as well as the Seaside festival, and she adores both of them and hopes that she can go to them again.
Dayana doesn't like Unification Day or the King Beast Honorary Holiday. She's been trying to understand why they exist lately but Antonio isn't really sure how to explain that.
But she does like going to the ‘Museum of Cultural History’. It's one of her favorite places in Auradon.
She can't sing.
Her favorite book to be read is ‘The Enchanted Life of Valentina Mejía’.
She isn't good at video games and doesn't like playing them but she understands why people would find them fun. They just aren't for her.
Her favorite colors are red and gold but she prefers red. She hates the color orange though.
Dayana is a surprisingly good climber and has given various family members a heart attack by climbing into faces she really shouldn't be able to reach. Like treetops, the cabinets, and the roof of Casita, for instance.
She's very sensitive to what happens to animals and once tackled and punched a boy on the playground after seeing him kick a squirrel. Pepa was very proud.
Dayana carries a magnifying glass around with her in her bag. It is very fun to look through when bored.
She wants to learn how to surf but hasn't had the opportunity yet.
But she has started learning gymnastics, which she finds just as fun.
She is probably part of the reason José hasn't gotten running his casino.
José splits his profits with her and Avila.
Dayana can shut almost anybody down with a stare: she doesn't hesitate to use this ‘power’ to shut up anyone who tries to badmouth her friends and family.
She’s a very sickly child—though thankfully nothing serious—somehow she almost always manages to catch a cold.
She gets road rage even if she isn't the one driving. Which, you know, she never is since she's eight.
Dayana is a nail biter.
She wants to meet Rudolph so badly that it's not even funny.
She thinks Evie is very pretty and very nice, and if she had a favorite ak, it would be Evie.
The girl didn't know how to read until Antonio taught her using the method his parents used to teach him when he first started volunteering at the orphanage when she was six.
Dayana has a very high tolerance for sour, salty, and spicy food.
She doesn't own a single pair of matching socks. Somehow she always loses one of them and it drives her crazy.
She likes watching and feeding the birds. She also likes watching the butterflies.
Mirabel is teaching her how to ride a horse.
Loves catching fireflies and butterflies.
Dayana is thinking about taking up falconry and beekeeping when she's older but isn't sure of it.
She's also taken up wildlife photography after Antonio showed her how much fun it could be.
The moment Antonio started thinking about adopting her, her door appeared— he doesn't know if it was a sign or if it was just because her birthday was a couple of days away but it's what convinced him that it wouldn't be a bad idea to adopt her.
The day Dayana was adopted, the Madrigal Family had a party for her— complete with gifts and everything. She cried.
She was very spoiled that day. It was really overwhelming but also nice.
That day Mirabel gave her a handmade red and gold sea monster quilt along with a stuffed toucan with four eyes. Dayana named it ‘Bug Eyes’.
Dolores reads to her often when they spend time together since they both enjoy it.
Dayana is very interested in the supernatural and cryptology.
She also wants to know how the Encanto was created and is exploring the mystery in the hopes of finding the answer that no one knows the truth to.
Out of the family, Dayana is the most likely to adopt a monster/cryptid without a second thought.
She is also second most likely to take part in leverage-like heists, with José being the first most likely one.
Dayana's favorite food is Encanto River Crispy Fried Fish.
Her favorite dessert is Guava Treasure Cups. She also likes pumpkin pastries.
Her favorite drink is Passion Fruit Butterfly Bliss.
She likes swimming with the fishes and she likes fishing.
Dayana is one of the few people Arlo will allow to touch his hair.
Dayana is secretly afraid that if she messes up her family will no longer love her and send her back to the orphanage they got her from.
She's also afraid of getting rabies and does her best not to get bitten by any of the animals she hangs out with.
She doesn't like going to cemeteries because they scare her.
Dayana can often be found digging around the Encanto, mainly Casita, for fossils and old remnants from history.
She is also fond of mushrooms and plant life—both fictional and real.
Her door shows her peering behind her shoulder at a towering shadow figure that’s grabbing her shoulder. The door frame is red.
The walls in Dayana’s room are a dark red color with a pattern of golden figures of cryptid, the ceiling looks like it was ripped right out of a fairytale with art of monsters, and the floor is made of a white and gold marble.
There are vines dangling from the corners of the ceiling and on the spots of the wall where there aren’t any figures of cryptids there are drawings of animals and cryptids and photos of her immediate family and wildlife.
She has a waterbed in which her stuffed animals, quilt, and feather filled pillows in one corner of the room with a dark wooden nightstand bedside it. On that nightstand rests a mushroom shaped lamp along with a framed photo of her, Antonio, and Giovanni at the animal sanctuary taken a couple of days after she was adopted.
She has a walk-in closet filled with shoes and clothes. In the back of her closet is a bookcase filled with detective, horror, and romance novels along with cryptology and wildlife books.
Across from Dayana’s bed is a comfy mushroom rolling chair and a desk where she can read and draw. Above her desk is a tv embedded in the wall where she can watch her favorite shows and listen to music.
She also has a fairy shaped toy chest beside that and a little area where her little detective kit is. There’s also another door on the side where her photography darkroom is.
When Dayana gets overwhelmed outside of her room she is not able to shut the monsters out of her sight and when she gets overwhelmed inside of her room, the monsters on the wall light up and come to life to defend her.

Would any of the RO ever cheat?
Just a note guys, always try to tell me which ROs you’re talking about. Sometimes I can tell sometimes I can’t so it’s best to just always say. All say for any of the games
Well depends, Renata is a sex worker. Some people might not be cool with that
With Dante, he could only ever do it if he got high and I mean INCREDIBLY high and not on the green stuff something much harder. He’d be so out of his mind he’d think he’s actually fucking Luce…. So keep him away from drugs

Heavy Is the Crown

Hair floating in the depths of her underwater palace and soft breeze caressing fragile, longing skin. Peace. That is all she ever wanted to feel but realized it only now as the pure sensation of tranquility shivered through her spin. Head resting as if on a water pillow, eyes razor sharp. Open and curious, green irises focused on the chem baroness sitting right next. The smoke that escaped Corina's lips was green with shades of grey. It was dense enough to cover her face with ethereal cloud. She observed in silence and once it faded, she mumbled: - The secret lies in the dose. Once rafined, Zaun Grey can be used as a drug. The effect it gives reminds characteristics of opium. Your muscles become delightfuly numb, your mind leaves astray. Drugs are not all but it surely will be profitable enough. What interests me more are what higher doses do to human nervous system. The water was warm and the air was humid. Above them there were cultivars of toxic plants making the area Corina's personal heaven; her very own kingdom in Zaun. - Do you need more subjects, Corina? - Renata asked, warm drops dancing on her skin drying fast as she emerged from water. Her body was athletic and strong leaving no wonder she could endure combat as fine as she fought with magic. She was taller, older, more experienced but no more in position of power when it came to Corina. Renata was proud to see her protegee rely on her very own expertise and building herself underground empire. She enjoyed the monster she so eagerly created and Corina was ambitious. All Renata had to do was to plant a seed; dare Veraza to dream. - No, thank you. Another study of mine concerns life sustaining. - Corina smiled exposing her toxin inducing fangs. Beautiful and deadly. - Perfect. Yet, the last time we spoke, you were fascinated by shimmer. What has changed your perspective? - Shimmer is his empire. Silco already makes profits. I want to give him something more and prove my worth in the Eye of Zaun. Zaun Grey has endless potential. - And so do you, Corina. Very wise indeed. Wishing to be the queen, you must remain unique and strong in the eyes of man. To be the wife, always aim for being one and only. Kings may have as many whores as they please but they want a queen that is equal to them. - I will never be his equal. He is far above me and I don't very much mind him to be. He is inhuman. Celestial. - The youngest chem baroness stood up, leaving the bath. Her skin was delicate, body almost fragile with hour glass curves and long legs Veraza loved so much to reveal in public with her bold dresses. - Be his. Support him but be careful what you wish for, heavy is the crown. And the Kiramman? - The only daughter, an heir to family fortune and secrets. Intelligent and military trained. Still she's nothing to me but merely a pawn, an obstacle I must meet on my path to glory and crown. Anything new about her? Renata chuckled. - Her preferences surely will make our plans easier. Wait and see, my beloved Corina. Seduce her. Make her vulnerable, enamoured by your presence. Make her trust you. Make her love you. And remain immune.
