youtube
Françoise Madeleine Hardy 17 January 1944 – 11 June 2024) 🌹 was a French singer-songwriter and actress. Mainly known for singing melancholic sentimental ballads, Hardy rose to prominence in the early 1960s as a leading figure of the yé-yé wave.
In addition to her native French, she also sang in English, Italian and German. Her career spanned more than fifty years with over thirty studio albums released.
Born and raised in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, Hardy made her musical debut in 1962 on French label Disques Vogue and found immediate success through the song "Tous les garçons et les filles". Drifting away from her early rock and roll influences, she began to record in London in 1964, which allowed her to broaden her sound with albums such as Mon amie la rose, L'amitié, La maison où j'ai grandi and Ma jeunesse fout le camp….
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, she released Comment te dire adieu, La question and Message personnel, to further establish her artistry. In this period, she worked with songwriters such as Serge Gainsbourg, Patrick Modiano, Michel Berger and Catherine Lara. Between 1977 and 1988, she worked with producer Gabriel Yared with the albums Star, Musique saoûle, Gin Tonic and À suivre. Her 1988 record Décalages was widely publicized as Hardy's final album, although she returned eight years later with Le danger, which completely reinvented her sound to a harsher alternative rock. Her following albums of the 2000s—Clair-obscur, Tant de belles choses and (Parenthèses…) - saw a return to her mellow style. In the 2010s, Hardy released her last three albums: La pluie sans parapluie, L'amour fou, and Personne d'autre.
Hardy remains one of the best-selling singers in French history, and continues to be regarded as an iconic and influential figure in both French pop and fashion.

Favourite colour - My current layout is enough of an answer but black. If mixed with touches of silver or dark green, you make me a happy gal.
Currently reading - I hesitate between starting La Chute (the fall), by Camus or Réinventer l'Amour (to reinvent love), by Mona Chollet.
Last series - The new episodes of SxF and House of the Dragon. I tend to stick to one thing after the other, to fully immerge myself in one universe. Especially when it's about movies or series because I struggle to stay concentrated when watching something.
Last movie - Christmas in August, directed by Hur-Jin-Ho.
Sweet/Spicy/Savoury - The only spice I consume is the one in books and fanfics- I really like when sweet and savoury combinations to be honest. Maybe it's a sin for some people but for the moment no one tried to murder me so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Currently working on - My mental health at the moment
This blog will not be a trauma dump or a personal life journal so there's no need to worry about me. I didn't find the time to properly work on any of my drafts but my ask box is still open. I try to answer to some lighter requests from time to time.

LAST SERIES I Jujutsu Kaisen! I wanted my dad to see it and so far he hasn’t been able to predict anything. It’s perfect!
LAST MOVIE I If I remember clearly, Do Revenge was the most recent. I loved the twist and wouldn’t stop talking during the movie. Too bad my mama slept midway. Haha.
SWEET/SPICY/SAVORY I I like a lil bit of everything. I remember one time my Chinese tutor placed spicy peanuts on icecream! The cold sweetness of the ice cream was a big contrast to the hard and crunchy texture of the spicy peanuts. It was a bit savory too.
CUREENTLY WORKING ON : Editing and planning out the final chapter for my OCs, planning out interactions with other peoples OCs, Writing non OC content, planning out my art projects for my course. And all that Jazz-

A&R Executive Who 'Discovered' METALLICA: 'That Signing Helped Change The Face Of Hard Rock And Heavy Metal'
RARE BLACK METAL COLLECTIBLES
Michael Alago, the New York City native who signed METALLICA to Elektra three and a half decades ago, spoke to the "Juliet: Unexpected" podcast about what it was about the James Hetfield-fronted group that initially caught his attention. "Well, I [was] out every night as an A&R person," Alago said (hear audio below). "I [was] also meeting with unsigned bands, lawyers and managers in my office every day. In 24 years, I had listened to thousands upon thousands of demo tapes. Over those years, I'd heard lots of good stuff — lots of good stuff — but good ain't great. And if you thought you were gonna sign everybody good, you just can't afford to do that." He continued: "I saw METALLICA a couple of times before I signed them — I saw them at L'Amour in Brooklyn in '82, I saw them at The Stone in San Francisco in '83. I was friends, who became a close colleague of mine, Jonny [Zazula] at Megaforce Records, had a small independent label, and he said, 'I wanna send you the records we're putting out.' So they were the first METALLICA record, it was also ANTHRAX, and he may have made a RAVEN record. Well, when I heard METALLICA on vinyl, after I saw them those two times, I thought, 'These people are special. They are not doing traditional hard rock [and] heavy metal. They were combining all elements of punk and speed and British heavy metal, American hard rock and metal, into this one thing that they called METALLICA. And those two times that I saw them prior to seeing them summer of '84 at Roseland [in New York], where I actually signed them, I thought, 'These are people who are young and crazy and drink a lot, and they are so focused that it's unbelievable.' And never mind that James Hetfield has always been a wildly charismatic person on stage. And you felt that the minute you walked in the room and saw him on stage. And he knew how to whip a crowd into a frenzy. And I thought, 'Wow! These are people I want in my life.'" According to Alago, his interest in METALLICA came about after he had entertained the idea of snapping up another of Zazula's artists. "I was talking to Jonny Z about RAVEN, and I gave RAVEN demo money, because Jon thought, 'Well, they're gonna be so huge, RAVEN, and I just can't do what I need to do with them on an independent label,'" Alago recalled. "The demos that [RAVEN] sent me were fabulous. It just wasn't my thing once I heard METALLICA; all bets were off with everybody. So I saw 'em at Roseland August of '84, I ran backstage, a little drunk, hugging and kissing everybody, and they thought, 'This is an A&R person?' And they took me seriously. The next day, they were in my office in the conference room. We had beer and Chinese food. I gave them cassettes and vinyl. And it just feels like they never left the office, and the rest is history, as we know. That signing helped change the face of hard rock and heavy metal." Alago said that METALLICA's longevity is proof that the style of music they perform is timeless and is enjoyable to all ages. "35 years later, they put out that last record, 'Hardwired… To Self-Destruct'," he said. "It's very true to form — it feels like a lot of things from back in the day, from previous records — and they're still playing 30,000-seat stadiums. That's a blessing. And it's a testament to how great someone is." Alago's journey from humble roots in Brooklyn into the netherworld of downtown New York's music and arts scene of the 1970s and 1980s is the subject of a documentary, "Who The F**k Is That Guy? The Fabulous Journey Of Michael Alago", which came out last year. Director Drew Stone ("The New York Hardcore Chronicles Film", "xxx All Ages xxx: The Boston Hardcore Film") tells a uniquely American story of Alago's crazy glory days in the music business as well as how Michael survived the late '90s industry downturn and reinvented himself successfully as a visual artist, poet and published photographer.

Dalida Exhibition - UNE GARDE-ROBE DE LA VILLE À LA SCÈNE
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/51c0ab509ba96ffd5766d62f97e8b7b4/tumblr_inline_ovoyt570RH1umjd38_540.jpg)
A life summarized in a wardrobe that contains moments of the folk artist. Born in Cairo with Italian parents, our beloved Dalida Gigliotti was able to create a character that left a mark on the music history.
This artistic myth continues to transmit her sensuality and sensibility through songs such as Hava Naguila or Guitare et tambourin, embodying a very characteristic Oriental Flamenco style.
Wrapped in a scarlet red velvet dress designed by Jean Dessès, our artist made her first performance in Paris, specifically at the Bobino Music-Hall. As if it were a premonition, the success of Dalida began that same night in 1958 being crowned Mr. Bambino.
This was the beginning of a metamorphosis that continued to envolve, from a New-Look style of the 50s with Jacques Estérel, through the chic style of Loris Azzaro and Michel Fersney to the chasulbe dresses of Balmain in 1970.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/96a5b38243503e589dbaede72ac75173/tumblr_inline_ovoyslG5OK1umjd38_540.jpg)
In the late 70's, Dalida reveals her most extravagant side using gold and exotic colors like a disco diva with a Parisian touch. The singer managed to reinvent herself from her childhood until the end of her career when she dyed blonde representing a cultural icon comparable to Marilyn Monroe.
Always loved, her happiness could be represented by the citation of Mme. Necker: «Le véritable bonheur, c'est l'amour partagé, sans concession et sans réserve». Quite far from Forever 27 Club by Kurt Cobin or Amy Winehouse, our diva was the victim of another generation.
