Rei gets a father figure hooray. this was supposed to be a drabble.

Hic, sob, sniff.

It was a constant melody that filled the infirmary. By medical standards, Rei Mekaru was not sick. But by her own? she was; she was sick with the plague that was being human.

Ando was nearby, on the phone with his son and asking after his daughter. His voice was quiet, unbearably so. She kept expecting it to suddenly raise, for him to tell her to stop crying. To stop being so... so weak.

She expected it because those were the same words she told herself since she was young. Stop being a baby, she'd say. Stop being stupid, she'd say. And for a time, it worked.

Sniffle, choke, gag, sob.

She sounded pathetic. She kept trying to choke back sobs, but it only made her feel sick and only made her cries louder. She hated it.

"Miss Mekaru." Came Ando's voice eventually. It wasn't exasperated, like she expected it to be, nor was it angry. It was as warm as a cup of hot cocoa on a cold evening. It was as sweet as one, too.

She flinched away as he approached, his hand outstretched. And then his hand rested on her shoulder and stayed there-- it's only movement was to rub part of it with his thumb. Dammit, why? why was he so kind? He should be pissed off that she failed to save Teruya. He should blame her.

Rei struggled to see through the blur of her tears. It was almost like she wasn't wearing her glasses-- everything was fuzzy and distant.

But when she looked up to finally meet his eyes, he was smiling. The lines by his eyes were tight, as were the ones on his forehead. The wrinkles by his lips were stretched in an attempt to smile, and-- and he had dimples. She'd never noticed that before.

"Miss Mekaru," he repeated, his voice fatherly in a way that made her heart ache for her own-- for a man who'd failed her years prior. "It's not your fault."

That broke the dam of words that she had forced back. "It is!" She wept, "I'm supposed to be the brains of the foundation-- i'm supposed to figure everything out--! And yet... And yet I failed Teruya!"

It was uncommon to hear her call the merchant by his first name-- the only time she'd ever let it happen was in her thoughts. The rest of the time, he was only "Otori" and "Incompetent."

Alcohol. Yes, that'd rid of these feelings. It'd rid of her weakness, too. But that was a dumb idea, and Rei Mekaru hated having those. She was meant to be smart, after all.

He didn't comment on her vulnerability, as she was sure most others would. He was too kind.

"...You didn't have all of the information." Ando finally spoke, his words carefully thought out. "I know-- i know it feels like you should have been able to do something more in times like this. But you didn't have all of the information. You didn't get the rest of the information until it was too late."

Those words were ones she already knew were true. She knew, deep down, that there was nothing she could have done without that information. But that didn't mean it wasn't her fault.

"I should have known Kinjo was hiding something." Her sob came out like a growl, befitting of how spitefully she thought of the director. "i should have pressed for more."

Ando shook his head, letting his comforting smile die down. A smile was not right for this moment. "but would he have told you...? Mekaru, you cannot... you cannot control the actions of others. Even if you pressed, he'd likely stay secretive."

She lunged into a hug, digging her nails into his jacket and letting her snot and tears mix into the fabric that rested on his shoulder. And he allowed the hug to happen, moving his hand from her shoulder in order to rub her back. It just made her tremble more.

"Otori... Otori was proud of how far you've come." Ando admitted, "He was proud that you kept going in order to help others. He was proud that you opened up more."

A nail on Rei's right hand, the one on her ring finger, broke. Not to the point it was painful, but she could still feel as it cracked when she pressed her fingers further into the older man's jacket.

"Mekaru," Ando whispered again, talking to her as if talking to his daughter, "Otori loved you."

Just like the fingernail, Rei, too, broke. Her sobs became alarmingly loud, reflecting the sound of a siren, as she clung to the only semblance of comfort she had.

Someone had loved her. Whether it was platonic or romantic, someone had loved her. And she had failed them.

No matter how Ando tried to comfort her, she had failed Teruya.

I’m just gonna splurge some thoughts about the survivors that I need to get out of my head, feel free to ignore this I just need to ramble about them. Obvs spoilers for all of DRA and SDRA2 under the cut (it's long btw).

Usual preface, just my thoughts, not canon confirmation of anything, you're all allowed to tell me I'm wrong/disagree yada yada yada

So one of the things I both love and hate about the DRA survivors in SDRA2 is how little we know about them since the events of DRA. All we get are little quotes let slip from Teruya's POV (and later Rei). And at least in Teruya’s case they’re said so nonchalantly but are also kinda telling of their experiences as adults trying to fight against despair, and how each of them are as adults. This is mostly about what Teruya tells us about Rei and Kinjo, as we do see a lot of Teruya's own personality through the course of the game.

Let’s take some things Teruya says when told that Rei is dead in chapter 2 for example. Not only does he not believe them, but he’s insistent that a) Rei will have contingencies for this and b) they will be rescued.

The way he says it implies that things go wrong in their work, and frequently at that. Rei needs to have plans b, c, and d as plan a rarely goes smoothly.

Also, while you could take his second comment as "Rei survived a killing game too she wouldn't die so easily", considering his spotty memory of his own killing game it's more likely that they've all come near death multiple times since starting the foundation. Which makes sense, put three kids in a war (two of which don't have combat experience) and quite frankly it's a miracle they're not dead yet.

Midori says something similar in the epilogue, so we can gather that people in the foundation do die often enough that it doesn't shock anymore. And by extension, the three of them have gotten injured or close to death themselves before.

I never noticed how calm he is about that statement about being rescued. He's confident. He's been captured before, perhaps a few of them have. And he has, at least, been rescued before.

I also find it kinda funny that at first when his memory of Kinjo is not all there he's still confident they'll be rescued. As time goes on and his memories of Kinjo return he loses hope. Just thinking on that.

Speaking of Kinjo, Teruya's comments of him are...interesting. When he doesn't fully remember him, he's kinda seen the same as Rei. He's confident in Kinjo and his ability to rescue them. But when he starts to get his memories back we get this wonderful snippet.

Oh boy Kinjo. I guess he doesn't believe in rehabilitation at least.

So I think it's important to stress that Teruya truly believes that Kinjo is his friend, and I think that speaks a lot about what Kinjo is like day to day. He's not always how he is in chapter 6, I really don't believe that either Rei or Teruya would stick around for however many years if he was, boss or not.

Especially Teruya, since in Kinjo's bad state he held a gun to Teruya's head and told him to pull the trigger.

It's kinda funny to think that both Rei and Kinjo have tried to kill Teruya. Rei ratted him out in chapter 4 solely to start a fight between him and Haru so they'd kill each other, and Kinjo obvs put a gun to his head. You need better friends /j

So Kinjo is probably relatively as he was in the foundation surrounded by good people (or just not criminals), and is much more ruthless out in the field. This is probably why Teruya and Rei scout on their own, perhaps they saw someone shot down who was just in the wrong place at the wrong time?

On a side note, I do wonder what Teruya is referring to here. There are a few things it could be tbh. Unlike the rest of the cast, he's not been reset in a past self so he knows that what he's seen is a memory, not a current thing. I think it's to do with his dad tbh, he's holding his scarf here after all (psst psst Linuj, when are you gonna tell us what happened there?)

Anyway, back on track. So Kinjo probably isn't crazy all of the time. I personally think that he has good days and bad days and that his physical state is an indication of his mental state, but that's my head cannon I can't prove that.

Man looking through chapter 4 is painful. Am I the only one that thinks Teruya's dark sprites look kinda sad? Like he doesn't really want to do what he's doing. Which kinda makes sense when you think he's being manipulated by Nikei and the entire tower seems entirely set up to trigger him in the worst way possible.

It's at this point that he no longer believes that he's going to be rescued, despite what he tells the others. He believes Rei is dead and doesn't believe that Kinjo will come for him, which leads into something Rei says in chapter 6.

Kinjo has left them for dead before, most likely both of them too. We know that Kinjo believes that the ends justifies any means and I think they have been on the receiving end of it.

But still, (I think) he wants to live, I've seen sometimes people say he's suicidal but I don't think that's the case. It's kinda telling that Yuki yelling "I'd rather die" triggers him enough to want to shoot him. It's only really later that he loses all hope and just kinda, snaps.

I know there's that one quote from chapter 6 he says, it always felt to me that he was just so cornered but still wanted to help, so he did the only thing he could. It does match something he says earlier in chapter 4

I think he values his ability to successfully help others over his continued survival. He's kinda taken Satsuki's words too much to heart, I don't think that she meant for him to carry that guilt all those years.

There's probably an entire thing about his mental state in that chapter that someone could write but that's for another day. All I will say is I'm not too keen on chapter 4 as I felt the whole thing a tad contrived in order for the shock value to keep ramping after chapters 2 and 3.

I guess the last thing we find out about Kinjo is he's changed in the last six months or so, and that was following him confronting his father. It's kinda implied that he's more distant from the other two since that event. Assuming that his contact with Syobai happened around this time, that explains why he would be distant from the other two, as he couldn't have anyone find out what he was doing.

That said, I have a head cannon that Teruya knew he was doing something fishy, but wanted to believe that he was doing it for the right reasons. You don't siphon off Syobai level fees from the company account without the accountant noticing. And considering Kinjo's attitude towards crime I can't imagine he's well versed in covering his tracks well enough to hide it from the ultimate merchant.

Also, that he seems to have trouble discerning the real Yuki from the one he met in the killing game. Despite that Yuki repeatedly telling him so and looking rather uncomfortable about it.

I hope that Linuj covers this in omake, it would be nice for him to have that closure.

I wanna say one last thing about Rei, since she's so underused this game it's actually criminal she doesn't get a lot of screen time or insight into her personality since DRA. We can tell that she's less curt, and more caring in her interactions in the prologue and chapter 6, and that in chapter 5 she's trying her absolute best to get Teruya out. But she still has her initial drive to survive above all else, which is why she keeps the exit code to herself.

But she's also still overconfident, she doesn't tell Teruya about the exit code because she's confident that she can get him out once she's out. And she definitely doesn't or he wouldn't react the way he does when she "dies".

"overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer"

And that's her downfall in the end, she's so confident that plan b, c, or d will work that she doesn't consider what will happen if she does fail.

Last bit while I was looking at other stuff, while she is blaming Kinjo here I think she's also talking to herself. After all, she's the one who left him there without a contingency plan. As we saw before, he's always relied on her in these kind of scenarios.

It's kinda funny, the only person Kinjo saved was Rei, and the only person Rei saved was Yoruko. One each, out of 32.

Damn now I'm sad. Anyway, if you've read this far congrats I guess? As I said before this is just some personal thoughts, you are free to disagree. I just really like it when things are left open to interpretation. I love these three a lot.

Miscellaneous Rei Mekaru Headcanons (DRA):

Rei abstains from ingesting any sweets and/or junk food; she views them as harmful to her wellbeing and regards anyone who excessively indulges themselves with junk food as disgusting and contemptuous.

In a non-despair AU, Rei would’ve eventually befriended with the Sunshine Trio (Satsuki, Haru, Teruya) after relentless pursuit from Satsuki. Satsurei supremacy y’all. 🧡💙

Also I just like the idea of Rei and Haru being bros. Something’s very amusing about a horny stoner pilot and an upright intellectual jiving.

Rei can speak multiple languages, with the two most obvious being English and Japanese.

I’ve mentioned this before, but I think Rei would absolutely despise insects, possibly bordering on Entomophobia.

Speaking of, here’s a few phobias I think she could have: atelophobia (adversion to imperfection), mysophobia (adversion to contamination and germs), and haphephobia (adversion to touch).

Despite her hatred, Rei does occasionally fantasize about what her life could’ve been like if her parents hadn’t abandoned her. She could’ve enjoyed all the love, warmth and belonging that normal children get to experience- but she shakes those thoughts away and focuses her attention elsewhere, such as reading, researching, working, etc.

Hates rap and most mainstream music. Listens to classical shit.

May or may not have Asperger’s Syndrome (totally not projecting, nothing to see here guys 😅).

Her beautiful orange hair and eyes are a result of incomplete genetic dominance; her mother possessed yellow hair and eyes and her father red hair and eyes. Additionally, she inherited her poor eyesight from both parents.

Is an atrocious singer. Rei is a woman of many talents, but this is not one of them. 😓

Rei is without a doubt the smartest student in her class aside from Yamato; and I estimate her actual IQ to be between 120 to 130, based on the fact that she taught at Harvard University prior to attending Hope’s Peak Academy.

Has never once celebrated her birthday, sadly. 😢 She sees it as an unproductive activity and that her time is better spent on other things.

Tsurugi, Rei, Teruya, Utsuro, and Hajime Reacting to S/o Fainting

Alright, I decided on Tsurugi, Utsuro, and Hajime cuz trauma, and also Rei and Teruya simp lol

Tsurugi Kinjo:

He’s always on the lookout in case something happens to you, so the moment you mentioned that you felt lightheaded, he was already preparing for the worst. 

“Are you sure you’re alright, Y/n? We should go to the shade, do you need water?”

Tsurugi reached his arms out the moment you began to sway, catching you immediately as you fainted. 

“Y/n!? Are you okay? Y/n!”

He gently tapped your shoulder a few times to check if you were responsive, before carefully laying you down. He was skilled in first aid, so he quickly loosened any tight clothing you had, and lifting your legs above your heart level, so blood could easily flow to your brain. 

Demanding someone nearby to call for help, he prepared himself to give you cpr if you stopped breathing. Tsurugi hated how his face turned red when he thought about that…

He completely steps aside when help arrives, but still checks on you whenever he can. 

For the next few weeks, he constantly asks you how you feel, if you need to lay down, and to tell him if you ever feel lightheaded again. Even if everything turned out alright, it’s a new worry that keeps him up at night, and it will take a lot of reassurance to convince him that you’re okay.

Hajime Makunouchi:

He was worried the moment you started yawning. He recognized every sign at first glance, and quickly offered you water or to take a break from training, but you insisted on continuing

"Are you sure?...Alright, but if you get too tired, let me-"

Hajime caught you the moment you began to fall, gently laying you down and checking if you were breathing. He wouldn't hesitate to give you cpr, and he sure as hell wouldn't leave you 

He yelled for Shinji and Yuki, who were training not far behind you, to call for help. He placed a hand on your forehead, then quickly fanning you with his hand. He didn't even realize he was shaking, he just couldn't stop thinking about you. 

He gets in the ambulance with you when help finally arrives, refusing to let go of you for even a second. Hajime knew exactly how you felt right now, and he would never abandon you like his parents did to him. 

"Y/n....it's going to be okay...I'm here...I'm here."

He gives your hand a soft squeeze, trying to reassure himself that you'll be fine.

Whatever happened, his luck should help you. And… he wasn’t sure he could take losing you. The moment you recover, you’re met with your favorite boxer, who doesn’t waste a second to hold you, hoping you don’t realize the tears rolling down his face

Rei Mekaru:

Under most circumstances, she would've been able to tell right away that something was wrong, but with, in her words, your "ineffectual comprehension" of yesterday's math lesson, she was too busy lecturing you to notice the signs

Rei's eyes widen in surprise. Her first thought was, 'real funny, Y/n' but her gut had a heart wrenching feeling...

Her knowledge is first aid was pretty basic, but she was quick and well at assessing the situation. She quickly checked for a pulse, tapping your shoulder and calling your name.

"Y/n? Can you hear me? Y/n!"

Placing you in the recovery position, she tells a nearby student to call for help. Rei retraces her steps from her time with you. Had you drank enough water? Were you yawning a lot before you passed out? Did you say anything about feeling lightheaded?

Her thoughts race as she lightly fans you. She would never admit how worried she felt, not hesitating to chew out any onlookers. 

"What are you still doing here!? Are you idiots going to help or just watch!?"

She's much more patient when the first responders arrive, stepping aside and letting them do their job, while also sneaking as many looks at you as she can. 

Rei would be restless and more irritable for the rest of the day, checking up on you as soon as she could. 

You sigh a bit when she scolds you for scaring her like that, but it made you smile how she genuinely cared. 

Teruya Otori:

Teruya had been telling you about the new shipment of overseas products that his father had showed him that weekend, holding your hand and rambling with an oblivious smile

He noticed that your hand felt sweaty, and you looked rather anxious about something, but he chalked it up to nerves

"Hey, Y/n? Ya nervous 'bout somethin'? You can tell meh!"

"It's not that... it's just...I..."

He's completely caught off guard when you suddenly drop to the ground. He tried to catch you, but ended up falling down with you.

"Y/n!? Y/n!" 

Teruya quickly gets to his knees and lightly shakes you. You mumble an incoherent response, and he yells for help. 

He knows basic first aid, so he lays you on your back and loosens any tight clothing on you. (Blushing heavily as he does so) 

He steps aside when help arrives, beginning to bite his nails in worry. He tries not to get in their way, but he’s desperate to know what happened to you.

Teruya is glad to know it's not serious, making a mental note to tell your teachers you were absent, and to visit you when you recover, a banquet of flowers in hand

Utsuro:

He notices you seem to sway a bit, and your steps slow, but with his luck protecting you, just brushes it off

It wasn't until he heard a small thud from beside him that he felt a strike of worry

"...Y/n?"

Utsuro thinks you're joking at first, lightly tapping your shoulder. He puts his hand in front of your face to make sure you're breathing, unconsciously letting out a small sigh of relief when he feels your breath

He nudges you a few more times, before hoisting you up against his shoulders. Your breath lightly tickled his neck as he brought you to some shade. 

Feeling your forehead, he signals for help. 

This whole situation is strange for him. Divine luck should keep you safe from...everything! He knew nothing about first aid, and somehow his divine luck wasn't waking you up yet. 

Was it heat stroke? Were you dehydrated?

It was the first time in years he felt... fear. Why were you still unconscious??

Besides Akane, you were the only person he had who truly loved him. He spent his life being used for his luck, just for it to disappear when his S/o was hurt?

It felt like an eternity before help arrived. 

His heart... was beating fast... He tried to keep his unbothered face, but it became increasingly difficult.

Mekaru purposely made a loud noise as she closed the door to the director's office and left. Left alone, Kinjo clutched his trembling legs and struggled to sit back in his wheelchair.

Silently, Kinjo resumed his paperwork. At a glance, he seemed extremely calm as if there had been no conversation with Mekaru.

"..........Haaa."

The solitary overtime work continued, and finally, the end of the accumulated documents began to come into sight.

Glancing at the clock, Kinjo realized that it had already passed midnight and the date had changed.

Yes, the funeral day of Ootori had come to an end.

"Hahaha."

Setting down the fountain pen on the desk, Kinzou lifted his head and looked at the ceiling.

Suddenly, he burst into a devastated laugh.

"───────!! ───!"

...He buried his head on the spot and let out a silent scream.

A side that he only shows when he's alone, a side that no one knows.

It is the appearance of Kinjo Tsurugi as a member of the 79th class at Kiboukan Academy.

With a loud thud, Kinjo collapsed to the floor.

While screaming with his whole body, he couldn't overcome his emotions and fell from the wheelchair.

The wheels of the wheelchair spun meaninglessly, and the neatly arranged documents danced in the air.

...Yet, this scream of silence doesn't stop.

What was the right answer?

Did he do the right thing?

Was there really no better way?

Kinjo Tsurugi cannot escape from these endless questions for the rest of his life.

No matter how much he struggles to improve, the doubts only deepen.

It's already too late to turn back, and he can only bear the painful emotions.

That's why he can't confide in anyone, and silently screaming without making even a slight sound becomes his only resistance.

And the next day, the director disappeared without anyone knowing.

Officially, he was put on temporary leave, but no one knew why or where he had gone.

Mekaru Rei took on the temporary role of acting director, but she didn't appear the same as before.

From this point on, the Kisaragi Institute was clearly tilting.

And in the near future, the Kisaragi Institute would reach a significant turning point due to an event.

It was a future that had not yet arrived, unknown to anyone.

But when that time comes, it is certain that someone will step forward and leave a record...

Hello.... This is the first time I wrote a request, So I have no idea how to do this........ I would like to request Rei, Kanata and Kanade with a Tf2 Medic S/O

In case you don't know Tf2. The Medic has little regard for the Hippocratic Oath and and is deathly curious about human flesh and/or pain, regularly performing crazy and unethical experiments. But for some reason they work and actually helps a lot in the medical field. That said, he's also friendly, cheerful, and helpful to his friends despite him being a mad scientist who has no moral qualms about transplanting baboon hearts on people.

Whenever you have a question on how the human body functions in a certain way, or how doing something specific to harm or break the skin would affect how they behave, ask her!

When Rei first met you during the Killing Game, she figured you were some poor naive incompetent soul. She just figured you were a Kanata 2.0, especially with your personality.

But that changed during the first trial and investigation where whenever conversation about her body, you were leading the conversation. Immediately shooting down whatever brain-less idea one moron had come up with. And that intrigued her.

During chapter two she had gotten your secret; S/O might have experimented on the bodies of those who were unlikely to make it. This intrigued Rei even more because you had made so many improvements to the field of medicine.

She was slightly shocked but you saying yes almost immediately.

After that, for every investigation Rei would make sure that you could properly investigate the bodies and would only ask you information about the corpses. You impressed literally everyone and you earned a far better title to Rei than an incompetent.

After you survived with her she would probably ask you out.

But when word got up of your unethical experiments, Kinjo and Keisuke were not happy whatsoever.

After the Killing Game, you were definitely not hired by the Kisaragi Foundation, Tsurugi definitely considers you a criminal. So you have to work at a hospital.

I’m trying my hand in making banners as the ones Im currently using were from a request to a blog and a gift from a friend so if they look shitty in comparison to what is on this blog that’s why, I figured if Im gonna try writing again why not try to at least put more heart into it

Btw if the prompt is confusing, essentially the reader doesn’t have Mikan’s weak personality and undying need for attention that they’ll humiliate themselves for it, they’re a professional nurse with an abusive family and peers which forced them to learn how to treat their own injuries as no one else would.

She initially dismissed you like everyone else for being a prodigy who she thought didn’t have to work as hard as she did in life so she was rather surprised but pleased to discover your skill as a nurse comes from hard work and determination much like her teaching abilities.

As someone with a disappointing family, she is sympathetic to your backstory about your horrid family and is proud of you for taking the step to improve your own situation over just hoping for someone to save you from your family. She would love to hear about how you managed to get your hands on medical textbooks and equipment since your family obviously couldn’t have been the source.

If you want your family to be put away for their abuse, Rei would be happy to help with some of her connections through the students she’s taught and acknowledged as competent. She would discourage the idea of you asking Kinjo to help as even if he’s the Ultimate Police Officer, he can be a bit manic and she thinks she can help you find better people to get on the case, however she will enlist Kinjo’s help if she can’t get someone better.

If you two were put in the killing game together, she would only be willing to cooperate with you for most of the game, she’d take your autopsies over Inori’s and would help you figure out who the culprit is and how they did it but she wouldn’t spell it out for you, you’re competent enough to learn how to become a fully fledged nurse while being abused by your family at home and by your peers at school, she’s sure you’re competent enough to figure out who the culprit is from your investigations together and some hints she’s willing to give.

On days where your past is haunting you, she would help you feel better by taking you on a date in a place like the library or somewhere that you two can simply relax and chat so you can unwind from stress. It’s during dates that you really get to see Rei’s softer side and she may even open up to you about how her life on the streets affected her since she feels much more comfortable being a little vulnerable around you.

She was extremely excited to be classmates with you due to your talents both coming from the medical field. It’s extremely likely that she’s at the very least heard about you prior to coming to Hope’s Peak as people have speculated how well you two would work together as teenagers with extensive medical knowledge who outclass working adults.

Kanata’s heart would break when she finds out you gained so much medical knowledge because no one would treat your injuries. She did worry about the bandages around your body but she didn’t comment on them as they were well bandaged and she just figured they were from an accident. The fact they come from abuse from your family is devastating to her. Considering how she comes from a loving family, both biological and adopted, she struggles to fathom how someone could be so heartless to their own family though she is reminded that she’s had a few surgeries on people who were attacked by their spouses or romantic partners. It really hits her how cruel people can be when someone she’s close to is a victim of abuse. 

If you ever wanted to pursue getting your family arrested for their crimes, she would encourage you to get Kakeru on the case, as the Ultimate Lawyer, he can definitely help you assemble a case to get them charged for child abuse so you don’t have to worry about them anymore but she won’t push the matter if you want someone else to handle the case, this is your family matter after all.

She would love to introduce you to her adopted family, especially her father, as she firmly believes you deserve to experience what it’s like to have a proper family and with how selflessly the Andos were in taking her in when she had nothing, she’s sure they’ll be able to help you experience the familial love you never got.

In the killing game, you two are major sources of comfort to each other over being unable to save the lives of your classmates. As medical professionals, it’s extremely frustrating and upsetting that you two are never able to save your classmates as they continue to die one by one due to the motives given by Monokuma. When making autopsies she would love having your help so she doesn’t potentially make any mistakes in identifying injuries and causes of death, while she she is confident she can identify them, it’s always good to have a second opinion.

On days where your past is haunting you, she would try to take your mind off it going on dates with you in places like the park. She usually doesn’t go to places like these because she’s so busy with work and she would normally spend time with you talking about patient stories or general medical knowledge, she would comfort you by trying out something completely different from those activities since you may not want to discuss them when in that state. If you do still want to discuss them she’d be happy to chat about it but it wouldn’t be her first idea in helping you.

But there were also some that either were going to where the killing game was held or didn't go at all? Well they were rescue by me actually, it explains why me nor Tsurugi weren't there.

If curious of my findings - well I did find one of Satsuki's sisters, Kizuna's father, Katsuteru who was one of Mitch's older brothers, Naoto who's Haruhiko's older brother who was just heading there and Ayame's dog if curious.

As for me, I was hunting down my father and kill him which Rei wasn't too happy of being sent to stop another killing game...

Okay, it appears some are interested, so let’s get started with our game of “Two Truths, One Lie”

You give me a character from this blog, and I’ll give you two truths about what will happen to them, and one lie. Thing is though, you don’t know which is which. Here are the rules:

This is more of a personal request, but… my F/O/waifu is Rei- I have a headcanon that the reason she has short hair in SDRA2 is because of how much I’ve talked with her and teased her to the point she has developed somewhat of a crush that when she overheard me say “I love short hair“ it just kinda turned into a thing where she cut her hair and made her demeanor more relaxed (as in how she went from crossing her arms to just letting them be in her pockets)

I love your writing style so it’d mean a lot to me if you could write that - bonus points if you add a reaction to the short hair and maybe Rei denying it had anything to do with me lol

Teasing Rei Mekaru was practically your new ultimate. Rei's personally was naturally cold and dismissive towards people, but after months of talking and talking, she finally seemed to tolerate you. 

The rest of your coworkers had no idea how you managed to get close to her, but they were happy for you anyway, asking if you could invite her to events outside of work. After befriending you, Rei seemed to open up more to other people, and while she was still a long way from being as social as some of her former classmates, there was a definite change in her personality. 

"Y/n..."

"Whaat~?" 

"What did you write in my notebook?" She asked you, holding up the notebook in question.

"I have no idea what your talking about."

"Idiot, I can recognize your handwriting."

"Still doesn't ring a bell. What does it say?"

"..."

You grinned at her, "Yeees?"

She seemed unable to look you in the eyes, "It says, "Will the lovely Rei Mekaru please take a break from her work and hang out with her best friend Y/n." Happy?"

"I think I might've written something similar. What do you think though?"

"...I think you're still an idiot." 

You were insufferable. That's all that Rei could tell herself. That's all the explanation she had for the constant butterflies in her stomach and the rapid heartbeats she felt whenever she was around you. You knew what you were doing to her and you were enjoying it. 

(You had no idea what you were doing, you just liked her and hoped that she liked you back)

When she heard you mention that you liked short hair, she brushed it off. Why should she care what you like?

...She doesn't care. Not at all. 

So why can't she get that comment out of her head?

She would stare in the mirror a lot. She didn't care much for her hair, and was meaning to get it cut anyway. Why not try something new? 

Yeah, that's all. Just trying something new. Nothing to do with you.

She kept repeating those thoughts over and over, even as she asked the hairdresser to cut it short, even as she was unable to get your blushing reaction to her hair out of her head.

"Morning, Y/n." 

"Ha! You used my first na-..."

The realization that she did indeed use your first name briefly shattered her ego boost, but she snapped herself out of it in favor of seeing your totally not adorable face. 

She stared at your reaction, unable to keep the smile off her face. She didn't even register her hands going in her pockets, and her own posture getting more relaxed. It was just another effect you had on her, but she was too busy enjoying the look on your face. 

Obviously, the entire foundation teased her for the rest of the week, abut at the same time, you couldn't look at her without blushing. It was a small price to pay. 

She denied it had anything to do with you, but she couldn't even lie to herself anymore. Yeah, she was in love with you. She could accept that, but it still might be a while before she's prepared to confess her feelings. 

When she does, she'll make it the greatest confession you've ever received.

i do hope its more of irlkado and nikei kid and you treat irlkado like a different person than aikado though /nm just. i do not like sann/iuri it makes me uncomfortable and nanas interpretation (hi nana) of irlkado/nikei is the only instance i tolerate it

but for the rest, i quite like these, i like soruko kids' talent /vpos

the rest are fine but i do think that combining the parents' talents usually isnt the best idea and branching out outside of that opens a lot of possibilities!! /nm just a little advice thats all

The world has done enough for Tsurugi Kinjo, as it stands. After being beat down and hurt so many times, Tsurugi has lost his purpose and his way, and is no longer willing to get back up again.
